San Diego's airport sits almost in the middle of town, which makes the first ride short and the city easy to like. Elly8.net books a San Diego limo service and car service at fixed, all-in prices: San Diego International Airport (SAN) to the Gaslamp Quarter from US$125 in a Business Sedan to US$325 in an Executive Sprinter, including the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet.
Rides in San Diego are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Book an airport transfer, a night at Petco Park, a Comic-Con week or a wine day in Temecula below, or enter any address in the web booker.
How much is a car service from San Diego airport to the Gaslamp?
A pre-booked car service from San Diego International Airport (SAN) to the Gaslamp Quarter costs from US$125 in a Business Sedan, US$165 in a Business SUV, US$200 in a First Class SUV, US$220 in a First Class Sedan and US$325 in an Executive Sprinter. Prices are fixed and all-in, with meet and greet and complimentary waiting after a tracked landing.
The drive is about 3 mi (6 km), roughly 7 minutes on a clear road along Harbor Drive. Short as it is, the downtown approach jams on game nights and during conventions, and the fixed price stays the same either way. A round trip, SAN to the Gaslamp and back on your departure day, is listed from US$240 in a Business Sedan to US$620 in an Executive Sprinter.
Airports: San Diego International and Carlsbad
| Airport | Distance to the Gaslamp Quarter | Clear-road drive | One-way fixed price |
|---|---|---|---|
| SAN (San Diego International) | about 3 mi (6 km) | about 7 min | from US$125 to US$325 |
| CRQ (McClellan-Palomar, Carlsbad) | about 34 mi (55 km) | about 45 min | from US$275 to US$715 |
San Diego International (SAN)
SAN has two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, on the north side of the bay. The airport is building a new Terminal 1 in phases: its terminal projects page describes 30 gates, with 19 opening in 2025 and the remaining 11 by 2028. Roadways and kerbs around Terminal 1 can shift while the work goes on, which is one more reason to let a chauffeur handle the pickup.
According to the airport, ground transportation is found at the Transportation Plazas in front of each terminal. For ride services, Terminal 2 passengers cross the main crosswalk to the Transportation Plaza, where app pickups are in the second lane, and Terminal 1 passengers use the pedestrian crosswalk outside baggage claim and follow the signs.
With a pre-booked San Diego airport car service, the partner chauffeur tracks your flight and waits inside arrivals with a name board, then walks you to the car. You do not need to cross to the plaza and wait in a queue.
McClellan-Palomar Airport (CRQ), Carlsbad
CRQ in Carlsbad serves North County San Diego and is popular with private and business aircraft. The fixed fare to the Gaslamp Quarter runs from US$275 in a Business Sedan to US$715 in an Executive Sprinter, with a round trip from US$525. Most CRQ arrivals stay in North County, in Carlsbad, Encinitas, Rancho Santa Fe or Del Mar, and the web booker quotes a fixed price to those addresses, usually much less. For FBO pickups, see private jet and FBO car service and tell us the FBO and tail number when you book.
The Gaslamp, the waterfront and the neighbourhoods
Our price list is centred on the Gaslamp Quarter. Fixed prices to any other address are a click away in the web booker:
- The Gaslamp Quarter and East Village: the restaurants and nightlife of downtown, Petco Park and the hotels around the convention centre.
- The waterfront and Little Italy: the big bayfront hotels along Harbor Drive, the USS Midway Museum and the restaurants of Little Italy, a few minutes from SAN.
- Coronado: the island across the bay, home to the Hotel del Coronado and its beach, reached over the Coronado Bridge.
- La Jolla: the coves, the village shops, the Torrey Pines area and the research campuses of UC San Diego.
- Mission Bay and Point Loma: resort hotels on the bay and the harbour views from Point Loma.
- Del Mar, Rancho Santa Fe and Carlsbad: the North County coast, with the racetrack and fairgrounds in Del Mar and resorts and golf in Carlsbad.
For a day that moves between these, an hourly chauffeur is listed from US$100 an hour in a Business Sedan to US$200 an hour in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum.
Comic-Con, Petco Park and the convention calendar
Comic-Con 2027: July 22-25, with Preview Night on July 21. Comic-Con fills the San Diego Convention Center and much of downtown, and it is the busiest week of the year for cars in the city. Streets around the convention centre and the Gaslamp close or slow for crowds, offsite activations and parties, and hotel rooms across the county fill up. If you are an exhibitor, a studio team or a guest staying outside downtown, book your car early; the desk sets pickup points outside the busiest blocks and confirms them each day.
Comic-Con teams often take an Executive Sprinter by the hour, at US$200 an hour with a 3-hour minimum, to move talent and staff between hotels, panels and evening events. Our conference transportation page explains daily loops and multi-vehicle bookings, and event transportation covers premieres and parties.
Petco Park. Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres, sits in East Village a few blocks from the Gaslamp. On game nights, traffic around the ballpark and the convention centre slows at the same time, so a chauffeur waiting at an agreed corner beats searching for an app car in the crowd. The ballpark also hosts concerts and events outside the baseball season. An evening out and event night package runs from US$500 in a Business Sedan to US$1,000 in an Executive Sprinter. See sports event transportation.
Conventions and the bayfront. Beyond Comic-Con, the San Diego Convention Center hosts medical, technology and trade shows throughout the year, many of them housed in the bayfront hotels next door. Corporate groups often pair airport arrivals with a car by the hour for client dinners in Little Italy or La Jolla.
Weddings, proms and nights out
San Diego weddings range from Coronado and La Jolla beachfronts to North County estates and the Temecula wine country. Guests are often spread across several hotels, and a schedule of shuttles keeps the day on time; see wedding limousine and guest shuttles. An Executive Sprinter for the wedding party and a First Class Sedan for the couple, from US$160 an hour, is a common pairing.
For proms and graduations, an evening package keeps the whole night on one fixed price, and the chauffeur follows local rules on passengers and alcohol. For a night out in the Gaslamp, the same package means no one is driving home.
Sightseeing and the Temecula wine day trip
A private city highlights tour, from US$400 in a Business Sedan to US$800 in an Executive Sprinter, takes in Balboa Park, Old Town, the Coronado Bridge, Point Loma and the La Jolla coast without hunting for parking at each stop. San Diego's official visitor site is a good place to plan the stops.
The signature day trip is the Temecula Valley wineries, an 8-hour package from US$740 in a Business Sedan, US$920 in a Business SUV, US$1,105 in a First Class SUV and US$1,180 in a First Class Sedan, up to US$1,475 in an Executive Sprinter. Temecula sits inland in Riverside County, with dozens of wineries along the rolling hills east of town; Temecula Valley Winegrowers lists them and their tasting hours. Book your tasting appointments, send the desk the order, and the chauffeur times the day so nobody in the group has to drive. Read more about wine tours by chauffeured car.
A full-day chauffeur for your own route is in the same price band, from US$740 to US$1,475. Popular choices are a North County coast day through Del Mar, Encinitas and Carlsbad, or a run up to Orange County.
Corporate travel and roadshows
San Diego's business travel centres on biotech and life sciences around Torrey Pines and Sorrento Valley, defence and technology firms, and the downtown convention trade. A corporate roadshow day is listed from US$900 in a Business Sedan to US$1,800 in an Executive Sprinter, with one chauffeur and one car for the whole schedule. Our roadshow chauffeur service handles investor meetings across downtown, UTC and Carlsbad, and a corporate account adds monthly invoicing and saved traveller profiles. NDAs are available on request.
Elly8.net vs taxi vs Uber and Lyft vs bus and trolley in San Diego
San Diego has good public links from the airport, and for many travellers they are the right answer.
| Option | Price | Time and reliability | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| San Diego Flyer shuttle | Free | Runs between both terminals and Old Town Transit Center | Rail connections north, light luggage |
| MTS Route 992 | Standard MTS fare | Every 15 minutes, 4:15 a.m. to midnight, to Broadway and Kettner | Solo traveller going downtown |
| Taxi | Metered | Transportation Plazas in front of each terminal | Short trips with no booking |
| Uber and Lyft (incl. Uber Black) | Dynamic, changes with demand | Pickup across the crosswalk, surge at events | Flexible solo trips off-peak |
| Elly8.net Business Sedan, SAN to the Gaslamp | US$125 fixed, all-in | Flight tracked, chauffeur inside arrivals | Families, groups, events, meetings |
The airport's public transportation page describes the free San Diego Flyer to Old Town Transit Center and MTS Route 992, which runs every 15 minutes from 4:15 a.m. to midnight and links to the trolley lines downtown. For one traveller with a carry-on, that is hard to argue with. A taxi or app ride makes sense for a quick trip at a normal hour.
A pre-booked chauffeur wins when you land late, when you need child seats (available on request), when a family or a team has real luggage, when you are heading to La Jolla, Coronado or North County, and during Comic-Con or a big game when cars are scarce and prices surge. See chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft and chauffeur vs airport shuttle.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a limo or car service from San Diego airport?
From SAN to the Gaslamp Quarter, the fixed one-way price runs from US$125 in a Business Sedan to US$325 in an Executive Sprinter. It includes the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. For La Jolla, Coronado, Del Mar or any other address, the web booker gives a fixed quote before you pay.
Where does the chauffeur meet me at SAN?
The chauffeur waits inside the arrivals area of Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 with a name board and walks you to the car. You do not need to cross to the Transportation Plaza and queue for a ride. Include your flight number when you book and the desk confirms the meeting point.
Is it worth booking a car for Comic-Con?
If you are staying outside downtown, travelling as a team or moving talent, yes. Comic-Con 2027 runs July 22-25 with Preview Night on July 21, and it is the busiest week of the year for cars in San Diego. Book early; the desk sets pickup points outside the busiest blocks and confirms them each day.
What happens if my flight is late?
Every airport pickup is flight-tracked, with complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. A delay does not change the fixed price within the included time. Waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost, and the desk will let you know before that applies.
How does the Temecula wine day work?
It is an 8-hour package from US$740 in a Business Sedan to US$1,475 in an Executive Sprinter. The chauffeur collects you, drives you to Temecula, waits at each winery and brings you home. Send the desk your tasting appointments and the day is timed around them. The chauffeur follows local rules on alcohol in the vehicle.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes, child seats are available on request. Tell us each child's age and weight when you book so the right seats are fitted before pickup. Families heading to the beaches, Coronado or the theme parks up the coast usually pair this with a Business SUV for luggage.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less, 10% applies; at 48 hours or less, 50%; and at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, 100%. Refunds go back to the original card. For Comic-Con and big game nights, book early to keep your flexibility.
Do you offer corporate accounts and group transport?
Yes. Corporate accounts include monthly invoicing and saved traveller profiles, and a corporate roadshow day is listed from US$900. For groups, an Executive Sprinter is US$200 an hour with a 3-hour minimum, and several vehicles can run on one booking for conventions and weddings.
