The Albuquerque International Sunport is about 5 miles (8 km) from Old Town Albuquerque, around 11 minutes on a clear road. Most days that short hop is easy by taxi, rideshare or the free bus. The trips that call for a pre-booked car are the ones with a deadline or a crowd: a pre-dawn drive to Balloon Fiesta Park, a family with car seats landing late, a wedding party, or a day in Santa Fe without anyone having to drive the interstate back.
Elly8.net books chauffeured sedans, SUVs and Sprinters in Albuquerque at fixed, all-in prices. The Sunport to Old Town starts at US$115 in a Business Sedan and runs to US$300 in an Executive Sprinter. Hourly service starts at US$95 an hour with a 3-hour minimum, and the 8-hour Santa Fe day trip starts at US$700. You see the full price before you pay.
How much is a car service from the Albuquerque Sunport to Old Town?
A pre-booked Elly8.net car from the Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) to Old Town Albuquerque costs US$115 in a Business Sedan, US$150 in a Business SUV, US$185 in a First Class SUV, US$205 in a First Class Sedan and US$300 in an Executive Sprinter. Each price is per vehicle, fixed and all-in, with taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet included.
A round trip between the Sunport and Old Town runs from US$220 in a Business Sedan to US$570 in an Executive Sprinter. Downtown, Nob Hill, Uptown, the hotels near Balloon Fiesta Park and anywhere else in the metro area are quoted by the web booker as soon as you enter the address, and the quote is fixed when you reserve.
Each price includes the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes, the standard gratuity and airport meet and greet. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. The Albuquerque fares panel lists every route and package, and all prices and packages compares Albuquerque with every other Elly8.net city.
Arriving at the Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ)
The Sunport is a compact, easy airport on the south side of the city. Your chauffeur tracks the flight number you give at booking and meets you inside arrivals at baggage claim with a name board. Complimentary waiting after a tracked landing is included, which matters when a connecting flight runs late.
For comparison, the Sunport's ground transportation page sends rideshare passengers to Door 7 on the Bag Claim level and taxi passengers to Door 2 on the same level. With a pre-booked car you do not need either door; the chauffeur finds you and walks you to the car.
The drive to Old Town takes about 11 minutes on a clear road, using I-25 or the surface streets depending on traffic and your address. During Balloon Fiesta week, roads in the north of the city are the problem rather than the airport run. Our airport transfer service page explains how pickups work at every Elly8.net airport.

Balloon Fiesta: plan the morning, not the ride
The 55th Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is set for October 2-10, 2027, at Balloon Fiesta Park in the north of the city. The headline events are the early-morning mass ascensions, which means guests are on the road well before sunrise, along with a large share of the city. The organisers run a Park and Ride system, and roads and exits near the park back up for long stretches on the busiest mornings.
A chauffeured car does not make the traffic disappear, but it removes the parking hunt and the long walk back to a distant lot. The chauffeur drops you where traffic control allows, waits or returns at an agreed time, and takes you back to the hotel for breakfast. For the full morning, an hourly booking from US$95 an hour in a Business Sedan to US$190 an hour in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum, is usually the simplest way to book it.
Fiesta week is the busiest week of the year for Albuquerque's hotels and drivers. Book as early as possible, and give the desk your hotel and preferred start time so the chauffeur can plan the earliest sensible departure. Families with young children can request child seats, and groups can keep everyone together in an Executive Sprinter. The Balloon Museum at Balloon Fiesta Park is worth adding on any day of the year.
Old Town, downtown and the business districts
Old Town Albuquerque is the centre we use for distances: the historic plaza and its church, galleries, restaurants and the museums close by. Downtown sits just east, with the Albuquerque Convention Center, the government offices and the hotels that serve conference weeks. Nob Hill along Central Avenue and the Uptown shopping district east of I-25 complete the usual visitor map.
Business travel here centres on the federal labs and the military, the University of New Mexico, health care, film and television production and the state's energy companies. A corporate roadshow day runs from US$855 in a Business Sedan to US$1,710 in an Executive Sprinter, and the hourly chauffeur covers shorter meeting schedules. Production teams can read our film and production transportation page.
Corporate accounts get monthly invoicing, saved traveller profiles and the same fixed prices across every Elly8.net city, with NDAs on request. Our corporate car service page explains how accounts work.
Santa Fe day trip and private tours
Santa Fe is about 62 miles (100 km) north on I-25. The Santa Fe Plaza and Canyon Road galleries make a full day, and the drive is easy enough that the main reason to book a chauffeur is the return: nobody has to drive the interstate home tired after a long day on foot. Our 8-hour Santa Fe day trip runs from US$700 in a Business Sedan, US$885 in a Business SUV and US$1,070 in a First Class SUV, to US$1,400 in an Executive Sprinter. The chauffeur waits at each stop and works to your schedule.
Closer to home, the private city highlights tour runs from US$380 in a Business Sedan to US$760 in an Executive Sprinter and suits a first visit to Old Town, Nob Hill and the museums. See our private city tours page for how tours are planned. If you are flying out of Santa Fe rather than the Sunport, enter both addresses in the web booker for a fixed one-way fare, or see city to city car service.
Weddings, concerts and nights out
Albuquerque weddings often run between a church or hacienda, a reception venue and several hotels. A couple's car plus a guest loop in a Sprinter van with driver covers most wedding days, and our wedding limousine page explains the timeline. Proms and graduations are covered on the prom limousine page.
For concerts, the Isleta Amphitheater is the big outdoor concert venue, and parking lots there empty slowly after a show. The evening out and event night package, from US$475 in a Business Sedan to US$950 in an Executive Sprinter, covers the drop-off, the wait and the ride back. Your chauffeur follows New Mexico's local rules on conduct and drinks in the vehicle.
Elly8.net vs taxi vs rideshare vs the bus and Rail Runner
Albuquerque has an unusually cheap public option. According to Rio Metro, all Rio Metro and ABQ RIDE buses are fare-free, and the Sunport says ABQ RIDE Route 50 stops at the airport on weekdays and Saturdays and connects to Rail Runner stations. For one traveller with a light bag and time to spare, that is the cheapest way into the city, and we would not argue against it.
The New Mexico Rail Runner Express runs between Belen, Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Its train fares are zone-based, with a full-fare Day Pass from US$3 for one zone to US$11 for six zones when bought onboard, a dollar less in the app or online. For a solo traveller heading to Santa Fe with no plans to move around once there, the train is the budget choice.
Taxis from Door 2 and rideshare (Uber and Lyft) from Door 7 are quick for short trips at ordinary times, and usually cheaper than a pre-booked car for one or two people going to Old Town in daylight. Rideshare prices move with demand, and on Balloon Fiesta mornings, finding a ride at the right time is the hard part.
| Option | Sunport to Old Town or Santa Fe | Where you board | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| ABQ RIDE Route 50 bus | fare-free | Sunport stop | one traveller, light bag, flexible time |
| Rail Runner to Santa Fe | Day Pass US$3 to US$11 onboard, by zones | Rail Runner stations | budget Santa Fe trips |
| Taxi | metered | Door 2, Bag Claim level | one or two people, short trips |
| Rideshare (Uber, Lyft) | varies with demand | Door 7, Bag Claim level | short notice, ordinary days |
| Elly8.net Business Sedan to Old Town | US$115 fixed, gratuity included | inside arrivals with a name board | late flights, families, Fiesta week |
| Elly8.net Santa Fe day trip | from US$700 for 8 hours | your hotel | a full day with a chauffeur waiting |
A pre-booked chauffeur wins on late arrivals, families with child seats, groups splitting one fixed price, Balloon Fiesta mornings, wedding days and a Santa Fe day where nobody wants to drive. Our chauffeur vs taxi and chauffeur vs airport shuttle comparisons go into the detail.

Prices are fixed and all-in, including taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost.
How much is a chauffeured day trip to Santa Fe?
The 8-hour Santa Fe day trip runs from US$700 in a Business Sedan, US$885 in a Business SUV, US$1,070 in a First Class SUV and US$1,145 in a First Class Sedan, to US$1,400 in an Executive Sprinter. The chauffeur drives the roughly 62 miles (100 km) each way and waits at every stop.
Can you book a car for Balloon Fiesta mornings?
Yes. For the 2027 Balloon Fiesta, October 2-10, book hourly from US$95 an hour in a Business Sedan to US$190 in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum. The chauffeur drops you where traffic control allows and returns at an agreed time. Book early; it is the busiest week of the year.
Where does the chauffeur meet you at the Sunport?
Inside arrivals at baggage claim, holding a name board. The chauffeur tracks your flight, so a delay is covered, and complimentary waiting after a tracked landing is included. You do not need the taxi or rideshare doors; the chauffeur walks you straight to the car.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes, child seats are available on request. Add each child's age and weight when you book so the right seat is fitted before pickup. For early Balloon Fiesta starts, having the seat already in the car saves time in the dark.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free if you cancel more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less the charge is 10%, at 48 hours or less it is 50%, and at 24 hours or less, or for a no-show, it is 100%. Refunds go back to the original card.
Is the free bus a good option from the Sunport?
For one traveller with a light bag and time to spare, yes. ABQ RIDE buses are fare-free, and Route 50 stops at the Sunport on weekdays and Saturdays. It is a poor fit for late arrivals, Sundays, heavy luggage, families with car seats and Fiesta mornings, which is where a fixed-price car makes sense.
Do you offer corporate accounts in Albuquerque?
Yes. Corporate accounts get monthly invoicing, saved traveller profiles and fixed prices in every Elly8.net city. The corporate roadshow day runs from US$855 in a Business Sedan to US$1,710 in an Executive Sprinter, and NDAs are available on request for confidential visits.
