Halifax limo service on Elly8.net is priced per vehicle, all-in, before you travel. Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) to downtown Halifax starts at US$165 in a business sedan and US$215 in a business SUV, up to US$430 in an Executive Sprinter. All prices on this page are in US dollars and include the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet.
Rides in Halifax are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer. Most of our Halifax work is the long airport run into the city, cruise days at the Seaport, conference groups downtown and the coastal drive to Peggy's Cove.

The fare covers downtown, the waterfront and the hotels on the Halifax peninsula. For Dartmouth, Bedford, the South End's residential streets or anywhere further out, enter the address in the web booker and it prices the trip. Tolls, including harbour bridge tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost.
Halifax Stanfield: a long way out of town
The first thing to know about Halifax's airport is the distance. Halifax Stanfield is in Goffs, about 34 km (21 mi) north of downtown, so the airport transfer is a real drive along Highway 102 rather than a quick hop. On a clear road it is about 35 minutes; at weekday rush hour, when commuter traffic from Bedford and the suburbs funnels onto the peninsula, it takes longer, and fog or a winter storm adds more.
Your chauffeur waits inside arrivals with a name board, tracks your flight and works to the actual landing time, with complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. Atlantic weather means delays and diversions happen more than travellers expect, and a tracked pickup keeps your car matched to the aircraft rather than to the schedule. For the trip back, we usually suggest leaving downtown about two and a half hours before a domestic departure and longer for a US or international flight. See airport transfers and airport meet and greet.
Halifax taxi vs airport bus vs rideshare vs Elly8.net
Halifax Stanfield publishes the fares its licensed airport car services charge from the airport. Its local car service fare sheet lists C$68.00, including HST, to the Halifax peninsula zone that covers downtown, with higher fares to zones further south and to Dartmouth; check the airport's taxis and limos page for any surcharge in force. Halifax Transit's Regional Express route 320 runs between the airport and downtown Halifax; fares and schedules are on Halifax Transit.
| Option | Price to downtown | Time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Halifax Transit route 320 | Regional Express fare per person | Longer, with stops | One traveller, light bag, budget |
| Airport taxi or car service (published zone fare) | C$68.00 incl. HST to the peninsula, per car | About 35 minutes clear | Walk-up arrivals |
| Rideshare | Varies with demand and time of day | Same roads, plus the wait for a match | Flexible plans |
| Elly8.net business sedan | from US$165, fixed and all-in | Chauffeur waiting in arrivals | Late flights, meetings, fixed budgets |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | from US$430 for the vehicle | Same | Groups, wedding parties, conference teams |
Being straight about it: on this route the airport's published zone fare is genuinely competitive, and the 320 bus is the cheapest way in for one person with a carry-on. The pre-booked chauffeur is worth it when you want the car in arrivals with your name on a board after a late or diverted flight, when a family needs child seats fitted, when six colleagues need one vehicle for the 34 km run, or when the company wants the cost fixed before travel. More detail is in chauffeur vs taxi and chauffeur vs shared airport shuttle.
Downtown, the waterfront and getting around
Downtown Halifax climbs from the harbour to the Citadel, and many of its streets are steep, one way or both. The waterfront boardwalk runs from the ferry terminal to the Seaport, with hotels, restaurants and offices along Lower Water Street and Hollis Street, and the business district around Barrington and the towers above it. The chauffeur sends you the exact pickup spot before arrival, which helps on blocks where loading is restricted.
For a day in the city, the private highlights tour, from US$440 in a business sedan to US$880 in an Executive Sprinter, covers the Halifax Citadel on its hill, the waterfront, Point Pleasant Park, the Public Gardens and a crossing to Dartmouth if you want the view back across the harbour. Hourly service starts at US$110 in a business sedan with a 3-hour minimum. See private city tours and hourly chauffeur service. Discover Halifax lists current events.
Dartmouth, Bedford and across the harbour
Halifax is really two cities facing each other across one of the world's large natural harbours, and many of our pickups start on the Dartmouth side, in Bedford at the head of the Bedford Basin, or in the business parks at Burnside and Bayers Lake. Two suspension bridges, the Macdonald and the MacKay, link the peninsula and Dartmouth, and both carry tolls, which we bill at cost. At rush hour the bridge approaches back up, and the desk times pickups around that rather than around the map.
Winter in Nova Scotia is wet, windy and changeable rather than deep-frozen, and the storms that roll in off the Atlantic can slow the airport road and delay flights. When a storm is forecast on your travel day, we contact you about an earlier departure for the airport, and for arrivals the tracked flight tells the chauffeur exactly when to be there. For a business traveller with a full day of meetings on both sides of the harbour, the hourly booking keeps one car and one chauffeur with you through the bridges, the parking and the weather.
Cruise days at the Halifax Seaport
Halifax is a major cruise port, and the Port of Halifax lists a season running from April to November, with ships berthing at the Seaport's passenger pavilions at the south end of the waterfront. Big-ship days bring several thousand passengers ashore at once, and the streets around the Seaport, the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 and the farmers' market fill quickly.
A chauffeur meets you at the cruise terminal with a name board, at the time you set, so you are not queuing for a tour coach or a taxi. The most popular cruise-day plan is a private run to Peggy's Cove and back with time to spare before all-aboard; for the airport, a direct YHZ transfer after you disembark. Tell us the ship name and arrival date when you book. See cruise port transfers.
Peggy's Cove day trip
The signature Halifax package is a five-hour Peggy's Cove day, from US$510 in a business sedan and US$645 in a business SUV to US$1,015 in an Executive Sprinter. Peggy's Cove is about 45 km from Halifax along the coast road, a small fishing village on bare granite shore, with one of the best-known lighthouses in Nova Scotia. The chauffeur drives you out along St. Margaret's Bay, waits while you walk the rocks and the village, and brings you back.
A practical safety note: signs at Peggy's Cove warn visitors to stay off the dark, wet rocks near the water, where waves can surge without warning. For a longer coastal day, the full-day chauffeur, from US$810 in a business sedan, adds Mahone Bay and Old Town Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage site further along the South Shore. Tourism Nova Scotia has more on the coast.
Conferences, corporate travel and the Scotiabank Centre
The Halifax Convention Centre sits in the downtown core, a short walk from the main hotels, and hosts national association meetings and conferences. Session ends bring every delegate onto Argyle Street at once, so we schedule congress pickups at a named entrance and stagger cars. See conference transportation. The Scotiabank Centre, also on Argyle Street, is the city's arena for hockey, concerts and touring shows, and the evening out and event night package, from US$550 in a business sedan to US$1,100 in an Executive Sprinter, keeps a car waiting for the ride back.
Halifax is also a naval, government, shipbuilding and offshore-energy city, which means visiting executives, delegations and site visits around the harbour and the business parks of Burnside and Bayers Lake. A corporate roadshow day starts at US$990 in a business sedan and US$1,260 in a business SUV, up to US$1,980 in an Executive Sprinter. Companies can open a corporate account with monthly invoicing, and NDAs are available on request. See corporate car service.
Weddings, proms and nights out
Halifax weddings often pair a ceremony downtown or in a church in the South End with photos at the Public Gardens, the waterfront or the coast, and a reception at a harbourfront venue. A full-day chauffeur keeps a car with the couple; an Executive Sprinter moves the wedding party. See wedding limousine service and, for graduation season, prom and graduation limousines. Chauffeurs follow local rules on alcohol in the vehicle.
