Austin is close to its airport and far from easy to drive on its biggest weekends. Austin-Bergstrom (AUS) is only about 8 miles (13 km) from downtown, but the city's calendar - SXSW in March, MotoGP and NASCAR at Circuit of The Americas, ACL Festival and the Formula 1 weekend in the autumn, plus UT game days - regularly turns a 15-minute drive into a standoff on I-35 and Cesar Chavez. Elly8.net books an Austin limo and car service at a fixed, all-in price that holds on those weekends as well as quiet ones.
From AUS to downtown Austin, a business sedan is US$120, a business SUV US$160 and an Executive Sprinter US$315, including the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, a standard gratuity and meet and greet. Rides in Austin are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
How much is a car service from AUS airport to downtown Austin?
A fixed Elly8.net business sedan from Austin-Bergstrom (AUS) to downtown Austin costs US$120 all-in, a business SUV US$160, a First Class SUV US$195, a First Class sedan US$210 and an Executive Sprinter US$315. Tolls and parking are billed at cost; the price does not change during festivals or race weekends.
The drive is about 8 miles (13 km) and roughly 14 minutes on a clear road along TX-71 and US-183 or Riverside Drive. Round trips cost less than two one-ways: US$230 in a business sedan and US$600 in an Executive Sprinter. To book an AUS airport car service, choose your vehicle on the price panel.
| Vehicle | AUS to downtown | AUS round trip | Hourly (3-hour minimum) | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business sedan | US$120 | US$230 | US$95 | Solo business travellers and couples |
| Business SUV | US$160 | US$305 | US$120 | Families, golf bags, extra luggage |
| First Class sedan | US$210 | US$400 | US$155 | Executives and VIP arrivals |
| First Class SUV | US$195 | US$375 | US$145 | Premium travel with room for bags |
| Executive Sprinter | US$315 | US$600 | US$190 | Teams, festival groups, wedding guests |
Arriving at Austin-Bergstrom
All airline service at AUS now runs through the Barbara Jordan Terminal. The separate South Terminal closed on April 1, 2026, and its airlines, Allegiant and Frontier, moved into the main terminal, according to the airport's South Terminal notice. If an older booking or confirmation mentions the South Terminal, the pickup is now at Barbara Jordan.
With an Elly8.net airport transfer, your chauffeur tracks the flight number and meets you inside, by baggage claim, with a name board. Complimentary waiting after a tracked landing is included, so a late arrival from the coast or a slow bag belt is not a problem. The alternative is the shared pickup zone: the airport directs rideshare and taxi passengers to an area under the Consolidated Rental Car Facility, behind the Red Garage, a walk from baggage claim that gets crowded on festival Fridays (AUS ground transportation). A Mobility Assistance Zone serves passengers who need extra help, daily from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. See meet and greet for how the arrivals meeting works.
CapMetro, taxi, rideshare or a pre-booked chauffeur?
Austin has a cheap and frequent airport bus, and for some travellers it is the right answer. CapMetro's Route 20 is a high-frequency route serving the airport, and a local single ride costs US$1.25, with a day pass at US$2.50; CapMetro has announced that fares change on January 10, 2027 (CapMetro fares). A solo traveller with a backpack heading downtown in daylight will find it hard to beat.
A taxi or app ride is fine for one or two people at quiet times. The calculation changes on the weekends Austin is famous for. During SXSW or a race weekend, the rideshare zone queues, prices move with demand and downtown streets close for events. A pre-booked chauffeur gives you a fixed price, a named driver waiting inside and a plan for the drop-off before you land. Families needing child seats, groups with luggage and anyone with a meeting soon after landing are the other obvious cases.
| Option | Price | Time to downtown | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Elly8.net business sedan | US$120 fixed, all-in | about 14 min clear road | Fixed budget, meet and greet, event weekends |
| CapMetro Route 20 | US$1.25 local single ride | longer, with stops | Solo travellers with light bags |
| Taxi | metered fare | varies with traffic | One or two travellers, off-peak |
| Rideshare | app price, varies with demand | varies, plus walk to the pickup zone | Short notice at quiet times |

Downtown, South Congress and the Domain
Downtown is where the prices on this page are centred: the hotels along Congress Avenue and Cesar Chavez, the Texas State Capitol at the top of Congress, Sixth Street and Rainey Street for the evening, and Lady Bird Lake running along the south edge. South Congress across the river is boutique hotels, shops and restaurants; East Austin and the Rainey district carry much of the city's nightlife. Chauffeurs know which hotel driveways to use when Congress Avenue is closed for a parade or a festival stage.
North of the centre, the Domain is Austin's second downtown, with hotels, shopping and office towers used by the city's large technology employers, and the University of Texas campus sits between the two. A car service by the hour from US$95 an hour in a business sedan (3-hour minimum) suits days that move between downtown, the Domain and the airport.
SXSW, Formula 1 at COTA and ACL Festival
SXSW returns March 15 to 21, 2027. Conference badges, showcases and private parties spread across downtown, East Austin and Rainey, and many streets close to traffic, so the chauffeur and the desk agree drop-off and pickup points that work around the closures. Hourly bookings are the norm for SXSW; a Full-day chauffeur starts at US$700 in a business sedan.
Circuit of The Americas in southeast Austin hosts the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix each autumn (the 2026 race weekend is October 22 to 25), along with NASCAR on March 5 to 7, 2027, MotoGP on April 23 to 25, 2027, and the Texas 8 Hour on May 7 to 9, 2027. Race days at COTA are some of the heaviest traffic days in the region; the chauffeur uses the circuit's published arrangements for drop-off and pickup, and the desk can run several vehicles for a hospitality group.
ACL Festival fills Zilker Park over two weekends each October (the 2026 festival ran October 2 to 4 and 9 to 11). An Evening out & event night, from US$475 in a business sedan to US$950 in an Executive Sprinter, keeps one car with you for the night. Concerts at the Moody Center and games at Q2 Stadium are covered under concert transportation and sports event transportation.
Conferences while the convention center is rebuilt
The Austin Convention Center is closed for construction as part of its expansion and redevelopment, with completion expected in 2028. The Palmer Events Center at 900 Barton Springs Road remains open, and many conferences now use hotel ballrooms and venues across the city instead. That spreads a single event across several addresses, which is where an hourly chauffeur or a multi-vehicle conference transportation plan pays for itself.
Corporate travel and roadshows
Austin's technology, semiconductor and venture communities generate a steady flow of investor meetings, site visits and campus tours between downtown, the Domain and the suburbs. The Corporate roadshow day, from US$855 in a business sedan to US$1,710 in an Executive Sprinter, holds one chauffeur and vehicle for the day and is timed to your AUS departure. A corporate account adds monthly invoicing, traveller profiles and NDAs on request; see corporate car service and investor roadshows.
Hill Country wineries and Fredericksburg
The signature Austin day trip is a 10-hour Texas Hill Country winery day to Fredericksburg, from US$875 in a business sedan to US$1,750 in an Executive Sprinter. Visit Fredericksburg describes the Texas Hill Country as home to nearly 100 wineries, vineyards and tasting rooms, with Fredericksburg and Gillespie County at the centre. The chauffeur drives, waits at each stop and brings everyone back to Austin, so nobody in the group has to plan around the drive home; tasting happens at the wineries, not in the vehicle, and the chauffeur follows Texas rules on alcohol.
Book tastings in advance, especially on weekends, and tell the desk the wineries you want so the route is efficient. Our wine tours page explains how the day works. Inside the city, the Private city highlights tour starts at US$380; see private city tours.
Weddings, bachelorette weekends and proms
Austin is one of the busiest wedding and celebration cities in Texas, with ceremonies downtown, on Lake Travis and at Hill Country venues outside the city. The desk books wedding limousines for the couple, Sprinters to shuttle guests between hotel and venue, and prom limousines with fixed pickups and a parent contact. Groups heading for Sixth Street or Rainey can book a Sprinter van with driver; larger groups can see party bus rental.

Is the South Terminal still open?
No. The airport closed the South Terminal on April 1, 2026, and its airlines moved to the Barbara Jordan Terminal. All Elly8.net airport pickups and drop-offs at AUS now use the Barbara Jordan Terminal.
Do prices go up during SXSW or the Formula 1 weekend?
No. Elly8.net prices are fixed per vehicle and do not surge. What does change is availability: vehicles sell out for SXSW, ACL and race weekends, so book as soon as your dates are set. Street closures may move the pickup point, and the chauffeur will confirm it with you in advance.
How does the Hill Country winery day work?
The 10-hour Fredericksburg winery day starts at US$875 in a business sedan and US$1,750 in an Executive Sprinter. The chauffeur collects you in Austin, drives between your chosen wineries and Fredericksburg, waits at each stop and drives you home. Reserve tastings ahead, especially on weekends.
Are child seats available?
Yes, on request. Tell the desk the number of seats and the children's ages when you book, and they are fitted before pickup. This is useful for families arriving for a Lake Travis holiday or a long weekend in the Hill Country.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less the charge is 10%, at 48 hours or less 50%, and at 24 hours or less or for a no-show 100%. Refunds go to the original card. For festival weekends, plan your dates before booking.
Can you handle groups and corporate events?
Yes. An Executive Sprinter is US$190 an hour (3-hour minimum), and several vehicles can be booked under one reference with one contact on the 24/7 desk. Corporate accounts add monthly invoicing and NDAs on request, and the Corporate roadshow day starts at US$855.
