A Dublin car service booked through Elly8.net is a private chauffeur and vehicle at a fixed, all-in price, quoted and charged in US dollars before you fly. A Dublin Airport (DUB) transfer to St Stephen's Green starts at US$120 in a business sedan and runs to US$315 in an Executive Sprinter, with the chauffeur waiting in arrivals with your name, tracking the transatlantic flight and absorbing a late landing at no extra cost.
Rides in Dublin are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. This page is written for visitors from the United States and Canada: how Dublin Airport works in both directions, including US preclearance on the way home, the districts where meetings happen, the match days and festivals that close streets, the Ryder Cup in County Limerick in September 2027, and an honest comparison with the Dublin Express coach and the taxi rank.
How much is a car service from Dublin Airport to the city centre?
A fixed Elly8.net transfer from Dublin Airport to St Stephen's Green costs from US$120 in a business sedan, US$160 in a business SUV, US$195 in a First Class SUV, US$210 in a First Class Sedan and US$315 in an Executive Sprinter. The price is per vehicle and includes the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet.
All Elly8.net prices are in US dollars, so there is no currency guesswork before you land. A round trip from Dublin Airport and back costs from US$230 in a business sedan, US$305 in a business SUV and US$600 in an Executive Sprinter for a family or group.
The clear-road drive from the airport to St Stephen's Green is about 17 km (10 mi) and around 26 minutes, usually through the Dublin Port Tunnel or along the M1 and the north inner city. Morning arrivals from North America land straight into the Dublin rush hour, and the late-afternoon peak is just as slow; allow 45 minutes or more at those times. The fare does not move with the traffic.
Dublin Airport: Terminals 1 and 2, arrivals and preclearance
Arrivals. Dublin Airport has two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, both a short drive from the M1. Your chauffeur tracks the flight number you give us and waits in the arrivals hall of your terminal holding a name board, once you have cleared Irish immigration and collected your bags. Overnight flights from New York, Boston, Chicago and Toronto tend to arrive in a cluster early in the morning, and passport queues vary, which is why waiting after a tracked landing is complimentary. See airport meet and greet and our wider airport transfers page.
Departures to the United States. Dublin is one of the few airports in Europe with US preclearance. According to Dublin Airport, US flights depart from Terminal 2, and you complete US immigration, customs and agriculture inspection in Dublin before boarding, so you land in the US as a domestic passenger. The airport recommends arriving at the terminal three hours before a long-haul flight, with extra time for checked bags or a group. For a late-morning flight to New York, that usually means a city-centre pickup around three and a half hours before departure.
Private aviation. Business aircraft are handled at Dublin Airport's private aviation facilities. Give us the handler and tail number and the chauffeur meets you there; see private jet and FBO transfers.
Dublin Express, the bus, a taxi or Elly8.net
Dublin has no rail link to its airport, but the coach and taxi options are good. These are the official numbers.
| Option | Price (airport to city centre) | Time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dublin Express coach | from €9 one-way booked online | fastest service 14 min via the Port Tunnel, longer at peak | One or two travellers, hotel near a coach stop |
| Dublin Bus public routes | standard city bus fare | 40 min or more | Budget trips with light luggage |
| Licensed taxi from the rank | metered, €30-45 to the city per Dublin Airport | 25 to 45 min | Walk-up trips, no booking |
| Uber | books a licensed taxi, metered | same as a taxi | Travellers who prefer an app |
| Elly8.net business sedan | US$120 fixed, per vehicle | Door to door, met inside | Families, groups, early arrivals, meetings, a fixed budget in US$ |
The Dublin Express coach is genuinely good value: from €9 one-way when booked online, with its fastest journey into the city taking 14 minutes through the Port Tunnel. If you are travelling alone with one case and staying near one of its stops, it is hard to beat.
Taxis in Ireland are metered under rules set by the National Transport Authority. Dublin Airport's taxi page gives the standard rate as €1.32 per km between 8am and 8pm Monday to Saturday, higher outside those hours, and estimates €30-45 to Dublin city. One thing North Americans should know: in Ireland, Uber books licensed taxis rather than private drivers, so an Uber from the airport is a metered taxi ride requested through the app.
Where a pre-booked chauffeur wins is the trip that is not simple. Two adults, two children, four cases and a stroller after an overnight flight do not fit easily in one taxi, and they will not want to queue at the rank at 6:30am. A business traveller heading straight to a 9am meeting in the Docklands wants the car waiting, the price agreed and the receipt in US dollars. A fixed US$120 business sedan, or a US$315 Sprinter for a whole group, solves those trips. Driving on the left, and why most visitors do not rent in Dublin
Ireland drives on the left, the city centre is a tangle of one-way streets, bus lanes and narrow Georgian squares, and parking in central Dublin is scarce and expensive. Many North American visitors who rent a car for the countryside are glad not to have one in the city. A chauffeur handles the airport, the city and the day trips, and leaves you free to enjoy the countryside from the back seat. Tolls, such as the Port Tunnel and the M50 barrier-free toll, and parking are billed at cost on Elly8.net bookings, never marked up. Our chauffeur vs car rental guide sets out the trade-offs.
Where our Dublin chauffeurs spend their days
St Stephen's Green and Georgian Dublin. The fares on this page are calculated to St Stephen's Green, at the top of Grafton Street, because so many of the city's best-known hotels, law firms and government offices sit around it and around Merrion Square and Fitzwilliam Square. Leinster House, home of the Irish parliament, is a short walk away, and Trinity College, with the Book of Kells, sits at the bottom of Grafton Street.
The Docklands and the IFSC. East along the Liffey, the International Financial Services Centre and the Grand Canal Dock area hold the European headquarters of many US technology, pharmaceutical and financial companies. Roadshow and board-meeting days happen here. The corporate roadshow day package costs from US$765 in a business sedan to US$1,530 in a Sprinter, with the chauffeur holding the car between meetings; see investor roadshows and multi-meeting days.
Ballsbridge. South-east of the centre, Ballsbridge is home to many of the city's embassies and to the Aviva Stadium and the RDS showgrounds. It is quiet most days and gridlocked on match days.
St James's Gate and the Liberties. West of the centre, the Guinness Storehouse is one of the country's most visited attractions and runs on timed tickets, so a car that drops you at the right gate at the right time helps. A private city highlights tour covering Trinity, the Georgian squares, Dublin Castle and St James's Gate costs from US$340 in a business sedan to US$680 in a Sprinter, with the chauffeur waiting while you walk.
Aviva Stadium, Croke Park, the Convention Centre and Dublin's calendar
Aviva Stadium. Ireland's home rugby and football ground in Ballsbridge has about 51,700 seats and no event parking. The 2027 Guinness Six Nations brings two home matches: Ireland v England on Friday 5 February and Ireland v France on Saturday 13 March, both at the Aviva Stadium. Chauffeurs drop and collect outside the closure zone; give us your seat block and we agree a pickup point. See sports event transportation.
Croke Park and the 3Arena. Croke Park, north of the centre, is the home of Gaelic games with about 82,300 seats, and hosts the biggest stadium concerts in summer. The 3Arena in the Docklands is the city's main indoor venue. For both, the evening out and event night package costs from US$425 in a business sedan to US$850 in a Sprinter; see concert transportation.
The Convention Centre Dublin. The Convention Centre Dublin, the CCD, stands on the north quays by the Samuel Beckett Bridge. Large association congresses and corporate events run here, and the RDS in Ballsbridge hosts exhibitions and the Dublin Horse Show. A conference transportation booking covers delegate shuttles from the airport in Executive Sprinters or a car on call for speakers.
St Patrick's Festival. The St Patrick's Festival runs 13 to 17 March 2027, with the parade through the city centre at noon on 17 March. The centre closes to traffic that day, hotels are full and taxis are scarce. Book your airport transfer early and expect drop-offs outside the parade cordon.
The Ryder Cup 2027 at Adare Manor
The 2027 Ryder Cup comes to Ireland at Adare Manor in County Limerick, with the week running from 13 to 19 September 2027, confirmed by Ryder Cup Europe: four days of build-up from 13 to 16 September, then three days of matches from 17 to 19 September.
North American fans need to plan the geography. Adare is not near Dublin. It is about 210 km (130 mi) by road from the city, around two and a half hours on a clear road via the M7, and closer to the west of the country: Shannon Airport is about 43 km (27 mi) from Adare, roughly 40 minutes. Expect strict event traffic plans around the village, rural roads, and very limited chauffeur supply in the Limerick and Shannon area for a week when very large crowds arrive at once.
What works:
- Fly into Shannon or Dublin and book the transfer now. A Dublin Airport to Adare or Shannon to Adare transfer is quoted through the web booker; give us your flight and the hotel or rental house.
- Book daily cars as hourly or full-day service. A full-day chauffeur costs from US$630 in a business sedan to US$1,255 in a Sprinter, which suits a group staying in one house and travelling together to the course each morning.
- Follow the official traffic plan. Drop-off and pickup points around the course will be set by the organisers and the local authorities; our chauffeurs work to them.
Corporate hospitality groups should talk to the desk early about Sprinters for guests. See event transportation and group transportation.
Powerscourt and the Wicklow Mountains, the signature day trip
The signature Dublin day trip is Powerscourt and the Wicklow Mountains, a 6-hour package. Powerscourt Estate, with its house and formal gardens near Enniskerry, is about 27 km (17 mi) south of the city, around half an hour on a clear road. From there the chauffeur continues into the hills of Wicklow Mountains National Park before bringing you back to Dublin. The package costs from US$470 in a business sedan, US$610 in a business SUV and US$940 in an Executive Sprinter for a family or group, all-in.
For a longer day, the west coast is within reach: the Cliffs of Moher are about 270 km from Dublin, which makes a full day and an early start. Book it on the full-day chauffeur, from US$630 in a business sedan, or as Dublin car service by the hour at US$85 an hour in a business sedan up to US$170 in a Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum.
Corporate travel, weddings and groups
Companies with people in Dublin every month can open a corporate account with monthly invoicing, fixed US-dollar fares, one desk for all 141 Elly8.net cities and NDAs on request. Travel managers book corporate car service in Dublin, London, Paris and New York through the same desk, and travel agents and hotels have travel agent and hotel accounts.
Ireland is a favourite for destination weddings, many in country houses and castle hotels outside the city. An Executive Sprinter with driver moves guests between the ceremony and the reception while a First Class Sedan carries the couple; see wedding limousine and guest shuttles. Chauffeurs follow Irish rules on alcohol in vehicles. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, seven for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley; the fleet page shows what each class seats.
How booking a Dublin car service works
- Enter pickup and drop-off. Add your flight number for Dublin Airport pickups so the chauffeur can track the landing; for the Ryder Cup, add the Adare address.
- Choose the vehicle. Business Sedan, Business SUV, First Class Sedan, First Class SUV or Executive Sprinter, each with a fixed price on this page.
- Reserve now, or use the web booker. Fixed fares go straight to secure checkout and your card is charged in US$; any other address - Shannon, Adare, a castle hotel, a multi-stop day - goes through the web booker. Confirmation arrives by email.
Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup, 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, refunded to the original card. Full terms are on our cancellation policy page.
Elly8.net books the car only. For flights and hotels, our travel partner BookingWorldwide.net handles the rest, and the travel desk explains how. Elly8.net is a member of LimousineWorldwide.Directory, LimousineAssociation.International, HotelsWorldwide.Directory and VacationsWorldwide.Directory.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a car service from Dublin Airport to the city centre?
A fixed Elly8.net transfer from Dublin Airport to St Stephen's Green costs from US$120 in a business sedan, US$160 in a business SUV, US$210 in a First Class Sedan and US$315 in an Executive Sprinter. The price is per vehicle and includes the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. Tolls and parking are billed at cost.
Where will my chauffeur meet me at Dublin Airport?
In the arrivals hall of your terminal, Terminal 1 or Terminal 2, holding a name board, after you clear immigration and collect your bags. The chauffeur tracks your flight from the number on your booking, and waiting is complimentary after a tracked landing, so slow passport queues are not a problem.
How early should I leave for a flight home to the US?
Dublin Airport recommends arriving three hours before a long-haul flight, and US flights include US preclearance in Terminal 2, so you clear American immigration before boarding. From the city centre we usually suggest a pickup about three and a half hours before departure, more on a weekday morning or with a group.
Is the Dublin Express cheaper than a car?
For one person, yes. The Dublin Express is from €9 one-way when booked online, and a metered taxi is about €30-45 to the city by Dublin Airport's own estimate. For a family or group with luggage, or anyone heading straight to a meeting, a fixed US$120 car door to door is often comparable and much simpler.
Can you get us to the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor?
Yes. The Ryder Cup runs 13 to 19 September 2027 at Adare Manor, about 210 km from Dublin and 43 km from Shannon Airport. Book transfers from either airport and daily hourly or full-day cars through the web booker as early as possible, because local supply that week will be very limited.
Are child seats available in Dublin?
Yes. Request child or booster seats when you book and give the children's ages, and the partner fits them before pickup. That saves carrying seats across the Atlantic and means the car is ready when you walk out of arrivals after an overnight flight.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less the charge is 10%, at 48 hours or less 50%, and at 24 hours or less or for a no-show 100%. Refunds go to the original card. If your flight is cancelled or diverted, message the 24/7 desk and we move the transfer.
Do I need to know about driving on the left?
Not if you book a chauffeur. Ireland drives on the left, and Dublin's centre is full of one-way streets, bus lanes and scarce parking. Your chauffeur handles all of it, and tolls such as the Port Tunnel and the M50 are billed at cost, never added as a surcharge.
