New Orleans rewards a driver who knows the city's rhythms: which Quarter corners a car can actually stop at, how a Saints game empties the CBD, and which streets disappear behind barricades during Carnival. An Elly8.net chauffeur brings that local knowledge at a price fixed before you fly. Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) to the French Quarter runs from US$170 in a Business Sedan to US$445 in an Executive Sprinter, all-in.
Rides in New Orleans are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. This page covers the airport, the Quarter and the hotel districts, the festival calendar, conventions, River Road, and an honest look at the airport taxi flat rate and the bus.
How much is a car service from MSY to the French Quarter?
A pre-booked Elly8.net car from MSY to the French Quarter costs US$170 in a Business Sedan, US$225 in a Business SUV, US$275 in a First Class SUV, US$300 in a First Class Sedan and US$445 in an Executive Sprinter. Prices are per vehicle and include the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet.
The airport is in Kenner, west of the city. The drive to the Quarter is about 16 miles (26 km), roughly 26 minutes on a clear road along I-10, and much longer at rush hour or when an event at the Superdome is letting out. A round trip, airport to the Quarter and back, is US$325 in a Business Sedan up to US$850 in an Executive Sprinter.
The French Quarter is our reference point. Hotels in the Central Business District, the Warehouse District, the Garden District and Uptown are close by and are quoted by exact address in the web booker, with the price fixed before you pay.
Arriving at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY)
At MSY, ground transportation is organised around Level 1 Baggage Claim. The airport's ride app page says app rides pick up on the middle curb outside Level 1 Baggage Claim, with Lyft through Doors 7 to 9 and Uber through Doors 9 to 11. Taxis load in a dedicated zone on the Arrivals Curb, according to the MSY taxi page.
Your Elly8.net chauffeur tracks the flight and meets you in arrivals with a name board, helps at the carousel and walks you to the car. There is complimentary waiting after a tracked landing, so a delayed connection is handled without extra charge. You avoid the app queue and the taxi line, which can both be long when several flights land together on a Friday before a festival weekend. Read how our airport meet and greet works.

The French Quarter, the CBD and Uptown
The French Quarter. The Quarter's streets are narrow, many are one-way, and several are closed to cars at busy times. A chauffeur will not try to wedge an SUV into a blocked block on Bourbon Street. Instead we agree a pickup corner at the edge of the Quarter, often on Canal Street, Decatur Street or Esplanade Avenue depending on your hotel, and the chauffeur meets you there. If your hotel has its own driveway or loading zone, give us the name and we use it.
The CBD and Warehouse District. Most convention hotels sit in the Central Business District and the Warehouse District, between Canal Street, the river and the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. These are the busiest pickups during conventions and game days, and the easiest places to keep a car waiting by the hour.
Garden District and Uptown. Magazine Street's boutiques and the Garden District's historic houses are best seen at a slow pace. Our private city highlights tour, US$380 in a Business Sedan to US$760 in an Executive Sprinter, covers the Garden District, the lakefront and City Park, home of the New Orleans Museum of Art. For a looser plan, our hourly chauffeur rate starts at US$95 in a Business Sedan, three-hour minimum.
The National WWII Museum in the Warehouse District is spread across a large campus; a car that drops you at the entrance and returns at a set time suits families and veterans' groups.
Mardi Gras 2027
Carnival is the city's defining season. According to New Orleans & Company, the 2027 season begins on Twelfth Night, January 6, and ends on Fat Tuesday, February 9, 2027. The final days before Fat Tuesday bring the biggest parades and the heaviest crowds.
Parades close their routes to traffic for hours, including the long Uptown route along St. Charles Avenue, and crossing the city during a parade can mean a long detour. Our advice from the desk:
- Book early. Chauffeured cars for the final weekend and Fat Tuesday are among the first things to sell out in the city.
- Plan drop-offs outside the route. We agree drop and pickup points a few blocks off the parade route and confirm them on the day.
- Use hourly bookings. An hourly car or our evening out package, US$475 to US$950, keeps the vehicle near you while you move between a parade, a dinner and a ball.
- Book the airport early too. Arrivals and departures around Fat Tuesday are heavy; reserve both legs when you book flights.
The parade schedule on the tourism site shows which krewes ride which days. Our event transportation page explains how we plan group moves on big nights.
Jazz Fest, the Superdome and the big weekends
The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival returns in 2027 over two long weekends, April 22 to 25 and April 29 to May 2, at the Fair Grounds Race Course in the Gentilly neighbourhood, according to New Orleans & Company. Parking near the Fair Grounds is very limited. We drop off and collect at agreed points on the approach roads, with a set pickup time so you are not searching for a car in the crowd at closing.
The Caesars Superdome is home to the Saints and hosts bowl games, concerts and major events, and the streets around Poydras Street fill quickly before kickoff and after the final whistle. We stage cars away from the closures and walk you to the meeting point. Our sports event transportation page covers game-day planning, and concert and festival transportation covers the festival weekends.
Conventions at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center
The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center stretches along the riverfront and hosts large medical, scientific and trade conventions through the year. Convention weeks fill the CBD hotels and slow the riverfront streets at opening and closing times.
We book MSY arrivals by flight for delegates, hourly cars for client dinners in the Quarter and Executive Sprinters for team moves between hotels and the halls. A corporate roadshow day runs from US$855 in a Business Sedan to US$1,710 in an Executive Sprinter. Our conference transportation and corporate car service pages explain group manifests and monthly invoicing on a corporate account.
River Road plantations: the signature day trip
West of the city, the River Road follows the Mississippi past historic plantation sites, including Oak Alley Plantation. Public transport out there is impractical for visitors, so a car is the easy way to visit. Our six-hour River Road plantations package is US$525 in a Business Sedan, US$665 in a Business SUV, US$805 in a First Class SUV, US$860 in a First Class Sedan and US$1,050 in an Executive Sprinter, with the chauffeur waiting while you tour. See our private city tours page for how we plan stops and timing.
Taxi, app ride, bus or Elly8.net from MSY
New Orleans is one of the few cities with a published airport taxi flat rate, which makes the comparison clear.
| Option | Price to the French Quarter or CBD | Time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Taxi (flat rate) | US$36 for up to two passengers; US$15 per person for three or more | about 26 min clear road | One or two travellers, light bags |
| App ride (Uber, Lyft) | varies with demand; higher at peak | queue at the middle curb plus the drive | Flexible travellers at quiet times |
| RTA Airport Express (202) | US$1.25 | longer, with stops | Budget travellers going to Elk Place or the Union Passenger Terminal |
| JET Veterans-Airport (E1) | US$2.00 into New Orleans | longer, ends at City Park Avenue | Budget travellers headed to Mid-City |
| Elly8.net Business Sedan | US$170 fixed, all-in | about 26 min clear road | Late flights, business travellers, a guaranteed car |
| Elly8.net Business SUV | US$225 fixed, all-in | about 26 min clear road | Families, luggage, child seats |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | US$445 fixed, all-in | about 26 min clear road | Groups, wedding parties, festival crews |
The taxi rates are from the MSY taxi page, and the bus fares from the airport's public transportation page, which says buses leave from Level 1 Baggage Claim outside Door 2, Zones B4 and B5.
Here is the honest view. For two people with carry-ons, the US$36 taxi flat rate is excellent value and hard to beat; tip is extra, and we would take the taxi ourselves in that situation. For four people the taxi is US$60 plus tip, against US$225 for an Elly8.net Business SUV, so the taxi still wins on price. The pre-booked car earns its cost when you land late, when you have more luggage than a cab takes, when you need child seats, when you want a chauffeur waiting during a festival or a parade night, or when a group needs one vehicle. Our chauffeur vs taxi and chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft guides go deeper.
Weddings, bachelorette weekends and nights out
New Orleans is a favourite city for weddings and bachelor and bachelorette weekends. We book First Class Sedans for couples, Executive Sprinters for guest shuttles between Quarter and CBD hotels and the venue, and hourly cars for a night of dinner and live music on Frenchmen Street. Groups looking for a larger vehicle can see our party bus rental page. Rules on drinks in vehicles vary, and your chauffeur follows local rules throughout. See wedding limousine for timing.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a limo or car service from MSY to the French Quarter?
The fixed, all-in price is US$170 in a Business Sedan, US$225 in a Business SUV, US$275 in a First Class SUV, US$300 in a First Class Sedan and US$445 in an Executive Sprinter. That is per vehicle, and it includes taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet. Tolls and parking are billed at cost.
Where will my chauffeur meet me at MSY?
Inside the terminal in the arrivals area, with a name board. Baggage claim is on Level 1. Add your flight number when you book; the chauffeur tracks it, adjusts to the actual landing and walks you to the vehicle after you collect your bags.
Can a car pick me up at my French Quarter hotel?
Yes, if the hotel has a driveway or loading zone. Many Quarter streets are narrow or closed to cars at busy times, so for other hotels we agree a pickup corner at the edge of the Quarter, such as Canal Street or Esplanade Avenue, and confirm it before the day.
Is it worth booking a car for Mardi Gras?
For the final weekend and Fat Tuesday, February 9, 2027, it can be the most reliable way to move around, because parades close their routes for hours and taxis and app rides are in short supply. Book early, use an hourly car, and let us plan drop-offs outside the parade routes.
What is the best way to reach Jazz Fest by car?
We drop off and collect at agreed points near the Fair Grounds Race Course, with a set return time, since parking there is very limited. Jazz Fest 2027 runs April 22 to 25 and April 29 to May 2. An hourly booking or a round trip from your hotel works well.
How much is the River Road plantations day trip?
The six-hour package is US$525 in a Business Sedan, US$665 in a Business SUV, US$805 in a First Class SUV, US$860 in a First Class Sedan and US$1,050 in an Executive Sprinter. The chauffeur drives you along the River Road, waits during your tours and brings you back.
Are child seats available?
Yes, on request. Tell us how many children and which seat types when you book, and the seats are installed before pickup. A Business SUV is usually the best fit for a family with luggage and seats, and an Executive Sprinter suits two families travelling together.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup; 10% at 72 hours or less; 50% at 48 hours or less; 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show. Refunds go back to the original card. For Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest, book early and keep plans flexible within those windows.
