A San Jose and Silicon Valley car service from Elly8.net is a pre-booked sedan, SUV or Sprinter at a fixed, all-in price. From Mineta San Jose International (SJC) to Mountain View the fare runs from US$145 in a Business Sedan to US$380 in an Executive Sprinter, and from SFO from US$255. Chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet are included.
Most of our valley bookings are business days: a landing at SJC, three or four meetings spread between Sand Hill Road and Cupertino, and an evening flight out of SFO. Rides in San Jose and Silicon Valley are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
How much is a car service from SJC or SFO to Silicon Valley?
From SJC to Mountain View an Elly8.net Business Sedan costs US$145, a Business SUV US$190 and an Executive Sprinter US$380. From SFO the same drop is from US$255 in a Business Sedan to US$665 in an Executive Sprinter. Prices are fixed and all-in, with tolls and parking billed at cost.
We price the valley from Mountain View, the geographic middle of the corridor. SJC is about 11 miles (18 km) away, roughly 17 minutes on a clear road. SFO is about 29 miles (47 km) north, around 41 minutes when US-101 is moving and considerably longer at the morning and evening peaks.
For an address in Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Cupertino or downtown San Jose, the web booker quotes the exact trip. Round trips are on the price list too: SJC round trip to Mountain View from US$280, SFO round trip from US$485 in a Business Sedan.
SJC and SFO: which airport, and what to expect
| Airport | Distance to Mountain View | Clear-road drive | Business Sedan | Business SUV | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mineta San Jose International (SJC) | 11 mi (18 km) | about 17 min | US$145 | US$190 | US$380 |
| San Francisco International (SFO) | 29 mi (47 km) | about 41 min | US$255 | US$335 | US$665 |
Mineta San Jose International (SJC)
SJC is a two-terminal airport, Terminal A and Terminal B, and it is the easiest Bay Area airport to get in and out of. For most of the valley it is also the closest, which is why corporate travel desks often route their teams through it. The chauffeur tracks the flight and meets you inside with a name board, then walks you to the car; complimentary waiting starts after a tracked landing.
App-based rides at SJC use designated zones at the arrivals curb and ground transportation island, according to the airport's rideshare page. A pre-booked chauffeur means you skip that queue on a busy evening bank of arrivals.
San Francisco International (SFO)
SFO has far more long-haul flights, so international visitors to the valley usually land there. The chauffeur meets you at the Customs exit in the International Terminal or inside the domestic terminal, and the car heads south on US-101 or I-280. I-280 is often the calmer, more scenic route to Palo Alto, Los Altos and Cupertino; your chauffeur picks the faster road on the day. Our San Francisco car service page covers SFO in more detail if you are staying in the city first.
Taxi, rideshare, VTA, Caltrain or a pre-booked car
Silicon Valley is spread out. Distances between meetings are short on a map and long in traffic, and public transport serves the corridor rather than the office parks. Here is how the options compare from SJC.
| Option | Price from SJC | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| VTA Route 60 Airport Flyer | free from SJC to the light rail and Santa Clara Transit Center | Solo travellers with a carry-on heading to a station | Transfers, onward fare, walking at the far end |
| Metered taxi | US$15 first mile, US$4 each additional mile, US$1 per waiting minute | Short trips, two travellers, no booking | Traffic minutes add up on US-101 |
| Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) | varies with demand | Off-peak, flexible plans | Surge at the evening arrival bank |
| Elly8.net Business Sedan to Mountain View | US$145 fixed, all-in | Meetings, late flights, a known price | Book ahead for the best availability |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter to Mountain View | US$380 fixed, all-in | Teams and families with bags | Larger vehicles need a little more lead time |
VTA and Caltrain. VTA Route 60, the Airport Flyer, is free to ride from either SJC terminal to the Metro/Airport light rail station and on to the Santa Clara Transit Center, where you can pick up Caltrain, per SJC's public transit guide. Caltrain runs electrified service up the Peninsula between San Jose and San Francisco, with express trains in the weekday commute. For a single traveller with one bag and an office near a station, that combination is a sensible, low-cost choice.
Taxi. SJC taxis charge a metered US$15 for the first mile, then US$4 per additional mile and US$1 per minute of waiting, according to SJC's taxi page. On the 11-mile run to Mountain View the distance alone comes to about US$55 before any traffic minutes and tip, so a pre-booked Business Sedan at US$145 costs more but gives you a fixed number, meet and greet and a car that stays with you if you book it by the hour.
Rideshare works well off-peak. It is less predictable when several flights land together in the evening or when a large event is on at Levi's Stadium. For a fuller breakdown, read chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft.
A pre-booked chauffeur is the right call for back-to-back meetings, executives who work in the car, families who need child seats, and groups who want one vehicle rather than three rideshares.
Roadshow days between Menlo Park, Palo Alto, Mountain View and Cupertino
The valley is built for the multi-stop day. A typical roadshow starts at a hotel near SJC or in Palo Alto, works up Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park, drops into downtown Palo Alto for lunch, then swings south to Mountain View, Sunnyvale and Cupertino for afternoon meetings before an evening flight.
The corporate roadshow day is priced from US$900 in a Business Sedan to US$1,800 in an Executive Sprinter. One chauffeur stays with you all day, waits outside each meeting and keeps bags secure in the car, so you are not checking out of a hotel and carrying luggage into a pitch. The investor roadshow chauffeur page explains how assistants send the meeting list and how we sequence it.
A few practical notes from the desk:
- Allow buffers on US-101. The stretch between Palo Alto and San Jose slows sharply at the commute peaks. I-280 and Central Expressway are often better alternatives, and the chauffeur will choose.
- Campus addresses are large. Corporate campuses in Mountain View, Sunnyvale and Cupertino have several buildings and visitor lobbies. Send the building number or lobby name and we pass it to the chauffeur.
- Badging takes time. Security check-in at large campuses can add ten minutes; build it into the schedule rather than the drive.
For simpler days, hourly service runs from US$100 per hour in a Business Sedan to US$200 per hour in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum, through our hourly chauffeur service. A full-day chauffeur is priced from US$740 to US$1,475.
Corporate shuttles, offsites and team events
Silicon Valley companies use Executive Sprinters for things a bus is too big for and rideshare is too scattered for: a leadership offsite in the hills, a customer delegation moving between two campuses, a recruiting day, or a team dinner in downtown San Jose or Los Gatos. One Sprinter keeps a group together and arrives as one.
We can run several vehicles on one schedule, with a single invoice through a corporate account. See corporate car service and group transportation and shuttles for how multi-vehicle days are planned. NDAs are available on request for confidential visits.
San Jose McEnery Convention Center, SAP Center and downtown
Downtown San Jose has its own rhythm. The San Jose McEnery Convention Center has more than 367,000 square feet of event space and hosts tech conferences, trade shows and large fan conventions, which fill the downtown hotels around it. Exhibitor teams typically book an SJC arrival, daily hotel-to-hall transfers and a closing dinner; our conference and trade show transportation page explains the set-up.
SAP Center, a few blocks west near San Jose Diridon Station, is home to the San Jose Sharks and hosts major concerts. On event nights the streets around the arena and Diridon fill quickly, and a chauffeur with a pre-agreed pickup corner saves a long wait.
Levi's Stadium and game days in Santa Clara
Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara is home to the San Francisco 49ers and hosts stadium concerts and major events through the year. Game-day traffic on Tasman Drive and Great America Parkway builds hours before kickoff, and leaving afterwards is slower still.
Our evening out and event night package runs from US$500 in a Business Sedan to US$1,000 in an Executive Sprinter. The chauffeur drops you as close as event traffic plans allow, waits nearby, and meets you at a set point afterwards. For suites and corporate hospitality groups, an Executive Sprinter brings everyone in together. More on sports event transportation.
Weddings, proms and nights out in the South Bay
Wineries in the Santa Cruz Mountains foothills, hotel ballrooms in downtown San Jose and estates in Saratoga and Los Gatos all host weddings with guests spread across the valley. A First Class Sedan for the couple plus Executive Sprinters for guests is a common plan; see wedding limousine and guest shuttles. For prom and graduation nights, the prom limousine page sets out how we handle parents' instructions and fixed pickup times, and larger groups can look at party bus rental.
The private city highlights tour, from US$400 in a Business Sedan to US$800 in an Executive Sprinter, is a good fit for visiting family: Stanford's campus, downtown Palo Alto, the Santana Row area and the hills above Los Gatos in one relaxed afternoon.

An Elly8.net Business Sedan from SJC to Mountain View is US$145, a Business SUV US$190, a First Class Sedan US$255 and an Executive Sprinter US$380. Prices are fixed and all-in, covering the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. Tolls, parking and extra waiting are billed at cost. Other valley addresses are quoted in the web booker.
Should I fly into SJC or SFO for Silicon Valley?
If your meetings are in San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale or Cupertino, SJC is usually closer and quicker to leave. For Palo Alto and Menlo Park either works, and SFO has far more international flights. SFO to Mountain View starts at US$255 in a Business Sedan, against US$145 from SJC.
Can one chauffeur stay with us for a full day of meetings?
Yes. The corporate roadshow day, from US$900 in a Business Sedan to US$1,800 in an Executive Sprinter, keeps one chauffeur and vehicle with you for the programme. Send the meeting list with addresses and times and we sequence the route. Hourly booking, from US$100 per hour with a 3-hour minimum, suits shorter days.
Where does the chauffeur meet me at SJC?
Inside the terminal, with a name board, at either Terminal A or Terminal B. Your flight is tracked, so the chauffeur adjusts to the actual landing, and complimentary waiting starts after a tracked landing. You receive the chauffeur's details before you fly, and the 24/7 desk can be reached if plans change.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes, on request. Add the number and ages of the children when booking and the chauffeur installs the seats before pickup. Families with several children and luggage usually choose a Business SUV or an Executive Sprinter for the extra room.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less the charge is 10%, at 48 hours or less it is 50%, and at 24 hours or less or for a no-show it is 100%. Refunds go to the original card. Contact the desk early if a meeting moves; time changes are often possible.
Can you move a group between campuses or to Levi's Stadium?
Yes. Executive Sprinters carry teams with bags, and we can run several vehicles on one schedule for offsites, delegations and game days. For Levi's Stadium events, book early and agree a post-event pickup point with the desk, because traffic around the stadium is heavy before and after.
Do you offer corporate accounts for Silicon Valley companies?
Yes. Corporate accounts include monthly invoicing, saved traveller profiles and NDAs on request, and every booking shows a fixed price before confirmation. Travel managers and executive assistants can book airport transfers, hourly cars and roadshow days for several travellers from one account.
