An SFO limo is a chauffeured vehicle booked in advance for an arrival or departure at San Francisco International: a sedan, an SUV, an Executive Sprinter or, for an occasion, a stretch limousine. With Elly8.net, SFO to Union Square costs from US$180 in a Business Sedan, US$235 in a Business SUV and US$470 in an Executive Sprinter for up to 12, with meet and greet, taxes and standard gratuity included.
The most common mistake with an airport limo is choosing by seats. A stretch limousine seats eight but carries very little luggage, and a sedan that seats three takes only two large suitcases. This guide sizes each vehicle by passengers and bags, explains how meet and greet works at SFO's four terminals, and lists the booking details that matter for groups, families and international arrivals.
Which SFO limo fits your group and luggage?
Count the bags first. In the Elly8.net fleet, a Business or First Class Sedan takes up to 3 passengers and 2 bags, a Business or First Class SUV up to 6 and 6, and an Executive Sprinter up to 12 and 12. Stretch limousines seat up to 8 but carry about 2 bags, so they suit occasions, not luggage.
Rides in San Francisco are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.

"Bags" means full-size checked suitcases. Carry-ons and handbags usually fit around them, but strollers, golf bags, ski bags and instrument cases take the space of a suitcase each. If you are on the edge, move up a class: two families of three with six large cases belong in a Business SUV at US$235, not two sedans at US$360. All figures and vehicle details are on the fleet page and the San Francisco fares panel.
When a stretch limousine makes sense at SFO
A stretch limousine is a celebration vehicle. It makes sense for a honeymoon arrival with carry-ons, a wedding party collecting the couple, or a birthday group heading straight to dinner with light bags. It does not make sense for a family of five with two weeks of luggage, or a team with sample cases.
A practical pattern for occasions is two vehicles: the stretch limousine or a First Class Sedan for the people, and a Business SUV for the bags, both timed to the same pickup. For the full trade-off between limousines and black cars, read black car vs limousine, and for groups see Sprinter van with driver.
How meet and greet works at SFO
SFO does not allow arriving passengers to be met at the gate, and vehicles may not wait at the curb. A pre-booked chauffeur therefore waits inside, with a name board, at SFO's suggested meeting points: near the gate exits in Terminals 1 and 2, between carousels 3 and 4 in Terminal 3, and at the signed Meeting Point by the US Customs and Immigration exit in the International Terminal.
For groups, three things help:
- One lead contact. Give the desk one mobile number for the group. The chauffeur messages that person on landing and confirms the meeting spot.
- Everyone at the same carousel. Split groups lose time. If the group is on two flights, book two pickups or tell the desk to hold the vehicle for the second landing.
- Count the bags at the carousel. The chauffeur loads by the count you gave at booking; extra cases are the most common cause of a tight squeeze.
Once bags are collected, the chauffeur walks the group to the vehicle. Our meet and greet page explains the service in more detail.
International arrivals: plan for the queue
International arrivals take longer from wheels-down to the meeting point because of passport control, bag claim and Customs. Every Elly8.net airport pickup is flight-tracked, and complimentary waiting starts after a tracked landing, so a long Immigration line does not cost you extra within the included time. If you are held for a long time, message the 24/7 desk and the chauffeur is kept informed. Waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost, and the desk tells you before it applies.
Long-haul arrivals also tend to land in clusters, so the International Terminal arrivals lobby can be busy. A name board at the signed Meeting Point is easy to spot in a crowd, and the chauffeur's contact details are on your confirmation if you need to say you are still in the Customs line.
The meeting point is simple: the signed Meeting Point at the Customs exit in the International Terminal arrivals lobby. Families arriving after a long-haul flight with children often choose a Business SUV, with child seats fitted before pickup; child seats are available on request.
Booking tips that save time on the day
- Book with the flight number, not just the time. That is what lets the chauffeur track an early or late landing.
- Give the real bag count, including strollers, golf bags and boxes.
- Ask for child seats with ages and weights, so the right seats are installed.
- Add every drop-off, if the group splits between two hotels. Multi-stop trips are quoted in the web booker.
- Say if anyone needs extra assistance walking to the vehicle.
- Book the return when you book the arrival. The SFO round trip to Union Square is listed from US$345 in a Business Sedan and US$895 in an Executive Sprinter.
SFO limo vs rideshare premium tiers and the taxi line
At SFO, premium app products pick up on the Arrivals level of the domestic terminals at set doors, according to the airport's ride-app page, while standard app rides use Level 5 of the Domestic Garage. Taxis wait at the roadway center islands on the Arrivals level. Both are fine choices for one or two travelers with modest bags.
What app rides and taxis do not offer is a guaranteed large vehicle waiting for a group with 10 suitcases at 11 p.m., a name board inside the terminal, or a price fixed before the flight. App prices move with demand. A metered taxi from SFO to Union Square works out to about US$58 before tip on a clear road under the SFMTA fare schedule. SFO to wine country, the South Bay and the East Bay
Many SFO arrivals do not stop in the city. Our Napa Valley car service page lists SFO to downtown Napa from US$390 in a Business Sedan and US$1,015 in an Executive Sprinter, a natural booking for a wedding group or a wine weekend; the Napa Valley visitor bureau is the place to plan the tastings. For Silicon Valley, the San Jose page has SJC fares. Any other address is quoted in the web booker at a fixed price.

Golf bags, skis, strollers and boxes
Some of the luggage that arrives at SFO does not fit the usual count. Golf groups heading to the Peninsula or Monterey, ski groups on the way to Lake Tahoe, families with strollers and travelers with sample cases all need more space per person than a standard suitcase allowance suggests.
- Golf bags. Count each as a full suitcase. Four golfers with clubs and four suitcases need eight bag spaces, which means an Executive Sprinter, up to 12 bags, rather than an SUV.
- Skis and snowboards. Bags are long and awkward; an SUV or Sprinter with the rear seats in use for luggage is the safe choice. Tell the desk the bag length when you book.
- Strollers and car seats you bring. Each takes about one bag space. Child seats are also available on request, which saves carrying your own.
- Boxes and equipment cases. Give the dimensions. For film crews and exhibitors, our film and production transportation and group transportation pages cover larger loads.
When the luggage outgrows one vehicle, a second car is often cheaper than a bigger class: a Business SUV for the bags alongside a sedan for the people.
Group arrivals for weddings, offsites and events
Wedding guests, company offsites and conference teams often arrive across a whole day. The desk can book several pickups under one reservation, each tied to its own flight number, and send one schedule to the organizer. A common pattern is an Executive Sprinter, US$470 SFO to Union Square for up to 12 with 12 bags, timed to the biggest cluster of landings, with sedans or SUVs for the stragglers. For events in the city, our wedding limousine page explains multi-vehicle days.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a limo from SFO to downtown San Francisco?
To Union Square, the fixed fare is US$180 in a Business Sedan, US$235 in a Business SUV and US$470 in an Executive Sprinter for up to 12. First Class Sedans are US$315 and First Class SUVs US$290. Stretch limousines are priced in the web booker. All fares include the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet.
Can a stretch limo carry our luggage from SFO?
Only a little. A stretch limousine seats up to 8 but carries about 2 full-size bags. For a group with checked luggage, book an Executive Sprinter, up to 12 passengers and 12 bags, or pair the limousine with a Business SUV for the cases.
Where does the chauffeur meet international arrivals?
At the signed Meeting Point by the US Customs and Immigration exit in the International Terminal arrivals lobby, with a name board. The flight is tracked, and complimentary waiting starts after a tracked landing, so a slow passport line does not change the fixed price within the included time.
Can we book child seats for an SFO pickup?
Yes. Child seats are available on request. Add each child's age and weight when you book so the right seats are installed before pickup. Families with several children and bags usually choose a Business SUV, US$235 to Union Square.
What if our group arrives on two different flights?
Tell the desk both flight numbers. The chauffeur can hold the vehicle for the second landing, with waiting beyond the included time billed at cost, or the desk can book two vehicles so nobody waits. For larger gaps, two separate pickups are usually better value.
How far ahead should we book an SFO limo?
As soon as your flights are set, and especially for Sprinters and stretch vehicles during big conference weeks at Moscone, when demand peaks across the city. A booking made early locks in your fixed fare and the vehicle class you need.
