A Mykonos car service booked through Elly8.net is a private chauffeur at a fixed, all-in price, agreed before you leave home and charged in US dollars. The transfer from Mykonos Island National Airport (JMK) to Mykonos Town costs from US$115 in a business sedan to US$300 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle, with the chauffeur tracking your flight and waiting at arrivals with a name board.
Rides in Mykonos are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Mykonos is a small island with a short, intense season, and the hard part is rarely the distance. It is finding a car at all when a full flight lands, reaching a hillside villa on a narrow road, and getting back from a beach club at night. This page covers each of those, the airport and both ports, and how the island's own taxis and buses compare.
How much is a car from Mykonos airport to Mykonos Town?
A fixed Elly8.net transfer from Mykonos airport to Mykonos Town costs from US$115 in a business sedan, US$150 in a business SUV, US$185 in a First Class SUV, US$205 in a First Class Sedan and US$300 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle. It includes the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. Parking is billed at cost.
The airport is close to town: about 5 km (3 mi) by road and about 8 minutes on a clear road. In July and August the roads around town slow down sharply in the late afternoon and evening, when beach traffic returns and dinner traffic heads in, so allow 20 minutes or more at those times. A round trip, airport to town and back on your departure day, costs from US$220 in a business sedan to US$570 in a Sprinter, and booking both legs together secures the car for the return before the island fills up.
Most villas and hotels outside town are quoted instantly in the web booker at a fixed price, with the same inclusions.
Arriving at Mykonos airport
JMK is a compact island airport operated by Fraport Greece. Many North American visitors arrive on a connecting flight from Athens, which Visit Greece puts at about 45 minutes in the air, while others come on seasonal flights from other European cities. Give us the flight number of the flight that lands on Mykonos. The chauffeur tracks it and waits at arrivals with a name board, and waiting after a tracked landing is complimentary. If you miss the connection in Athens, the 24/7 desk moves the pickup to the next flight.
The airport's own taxi page says the taxi stand is outside the arrivals terminal, and the public bus to Mykonos Town stops in front of the terminal, with tickets sold by the driver. When several flights land together in high season, the taxi line can be the longest wait of the journey. A pre-booked car means walking straight out to a named chauffeur, with the luggage loaded for you.
Check the season if you travel late in the year. The airport has announced that every Thursday from 19 November 2026 to 18 March 2027, commercial and private flights will be suspended, with exceptions on 22, 24 and 31 December 2026 and 5 and 7 January 2027. If your winter trip falls on a Thursday, plan the flight first and we will book the car around it. See Mykonos airport transfers and meet and greet.
The old port and the new port at Tourlos
Mykonos has two harbours, and confusing them is the most common mistake visitors make. The old port sits on the waterfront of Mykonos Town, and it is where the boats to Delos leave. The new port is at Tourlos, about 3 km (2 mi) north of town by road and about 6 km (4 mi) from the airport. Your ticket names the port; send it to us, or the ferry operator's name and departure time, and the chauffeur meets you at the right one.
The Municipality of Mykonos runs a sea bus between the old port and the new port every 30 minutes for €2, with luggage allowed, and KTEL buses run from a stop beside the old-port quay to Tourlos. Those are good options for a light traveller staying in town. With suitcases and a villa at the end of the journey, the car from the quay is simpler. Arriving by cruise ship, give us the ship and the landing point the line confirms, and the chauffeur meets you there. Read more on cruise and ferry port transfers.
Narrow roads, villas and which vehicle fits
Mykonos Town, or Chora, is a maze of narrow paved lanes between whitewashed houses. They are footpaths, not roads, so cars stop at the edge of town, near the old port or the Fabrika area to the south, where the municipality's bus stops and taxi ranks are. If your hotel is inside the lanes, tell us; the chauffeur drops at the nearest point a car can reach and helps with the bags to the hotel's meeting point.
Outside town, the island is laid out in hillside villas reached by narrow, steep roads, some of them unpaved for the last stretch, with tight turns at gates and walls. That shapes the choice of vehicle:
- Business Sedan or First Class Sedan. The easiest cars on narrow roads, right for couples and for evenings in town.
- Business SUV or First Class SUV. The usual choice for villa arrivals, with ground clearance for the last stretch and room for four guests and luggage.
- Executive Sprinter. Published on our price list and right for groups, but a large van is not suited to every villa road. Before confirming a Sprinter, the desk checks the address with the local partner. Where a van cannot reach the door, we will say so and offer two SUVs or a meeting point at the nearest wide road instead.
In July and August, larger vehicles book out first, so reserve early for groups. We will not promise a vehicle that cannot reach your address. For groups, see Sprinter van with driver and group transportation.
Taxi, bus, sea bus or chauffeur: the honest comparison
| Option | Price | Time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Island taxi from the airport stand | Charged by distance | Short drive, but the wait at the stand can be long in peak season | Light travellers when the line is short |
| KTEL bus, airport to Mykonos Town | Low fare, ticket from the driver | Fixed timetable | One traveller, light bag, hotel in town |
| Sea bus, old port to new port | €2, every 30 minutes | Short crossing | Port connections from town |
| Elly8.net business sedan | US$115 fixed, per vehicle | Door to door, about 8 minutes on a clear road | Families, groups, villas, late flights, fixed budgets |
The municipality lists two 24-hour taxi numbers and two ranks, one in Chora in front of the OTE building and one at Fabrika, and notes that taxi fares depend on the distance travelled. Buses to the southern beaches leave from Fabrika, and the night service runs to the busiest destinations until 04:00 in peak season. For a solo traveller staying in town, the bus is fine, and a taxi on a quiet afternoon is quick.
A pre-booked chauffeur wins where Mykonos is at its hardest: a full flight landing at the same time as two others, a villa on a hillside road with five suitcases, a return from a beach club after midnight, a family needing child seats, or a group that would need three taxis. The price is fixed in dollars before you travel. For the broader reasoning see chauffeur vs taxi and chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft.
Beach clubs, Little Venice and nights out
The south coast beaches are the centre of the Mykonos day. Psarou and Platys Gialos, and Paradise, are each about 6 km (4 mi) from town by road, roughly 11 minutes on a clear road, and the beach clubs along them draw most of the island's afternoon traffic. Caïques from Platys Gialos also connect the beaches along that coast. Returning to a villa after a long lunch, guests usually find that a car booked for a set time is easier than hoping for a taxi at the club entrance.
In the evening, the destination is usually Chora: Little Venice, with its wooden balconies over the sea, the windmills on the ridge above, and the restaurants and bars in the lanes. The car drops at the edge of town and returns at the time you set. The evening out and event night package costs from US$450 in a business sedan, US$575 in a business SUV and US$900 in an Executive Sprinter, with the chauffeur on call for dinner, the bars and the drive home. The chauffeur follows local rules on everything inside the vehicle. See event transportation.
Ano Mera, the inland village with its monastery and square, is about 8 km (5 mi) from town and makes a quiet lunch away from the beaches.
Delos and days out around the island
Delos, the sacred island of the ancient Greeks, is reached by boat from the old harbour of Mykonos Town. The municipality's Delos page says boats run daily, weather permitting, with a morning and an afternoon departure, and warns that strong meltemi winds in summer can stop the crossing. The chauffeur drops you at the harbour in time for the boat and collects you when it returns.
The private city highlights tour costs from US$360 in a business sedan, US$460 in a business SUV and US$720 in an Executive Sprinter, covering Chora, the windmills, Ano Mera, the lighthouse viewpoints and a beach stop. For a longer day, book the full-day chauffeur from US$665 in a business sedan to US$1,325 in a Sprinter, or the car by the hour from US$90 in a business sedan, US$115 in a business SUV and US$180 in a Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum. See private city tours, hourly chauffeur service and the packages page.
Villa weekends, weddings and corporate groups
Mykonos hosts a steady flow of celebrations, villa weekends and incentive groups through the season. A group arriving on several flights is easier when one desk holds the manifest: we match each flight to a car, send the Sprinter for the larger party where the road allows it, and keep a sedan on call for late arrivals. For weddings and celebrations, a First Class Sedan carries the couple and Sprinters or SUVs carry guests between the villa, the venue and town; see wedding transportation.
For companies, the corporate roadshow day costs from US$810 in a business sedan, US$1,035 in a business SUV and US$1,620 in an Executive Sprinter, and a corporate account adds fixed fares in US$, monthly invoicing and NDAs on request. Read more on corporate car service. Villa managers, hotels and travel agents book guests on account through hotel accounts and travel agent accounts.
Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, seven for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley, and every partner is licensed and commercially insured. See the fleet.
Leaving Mykonos
The airport is close, but the island is not a place to cut it fine in summer. The roads out of town and the terminal itself are at their busiest when the evening departures leave, and a small airport handles a full season of flights. We usually suggest arriving at the terminal two hours before a flight to Athens or within Europe and three hours before a long-haul connection, and setting the pickup from the villa, not from town. For a ferry, allow extra time to reach Tourlos and check in.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a private transfer from Mykonos airport to Mykonos Town?
A fixed Elly8.net transfer from Mykonos airport to Mykonos Town costs from US$115 in a business sedan to US$300 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle. It includes the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. Villas outside town are quoted instantly in the web booker at a fixed price with the same inclusions.
How far is Mykonos airport from town?
About 5 km (3 mi) by road, roughly 8 minutes on a clear road. In July and August, allow 20 minutes or more in the late afternoon and evening. The new port at Tourlos is about 6 km (4 mi) from the airport.
Where will the chauffeur meet me at Mykonos airport?
At arrivals, holding a name board, once you have collected your bags. The chauffeur tracks your flight, and waiting after a tracked landing is complimentary. If you miss a connection in Athens, message the 24/7 desk and the pickup moves to the next flight.
Can a Sprinter reach our villa?
Often, but not always. Many villas sit on narrow, steep roads. Before confirming an Executive Sprinter, the desk checks the address with the local partner. If a van cannot reach the door, we offer two SUVs or a meeting point at the nearest wide road, so nobody is stranded with luggage.
Which port does my ferry use?
Your ticket names it. Mykonos has two harbours: the old port on the waterfront of town, which also serves the Delos boats, and the new port at Tourlos, about 3 km (2 mi) north. Send us the operator and departure time, and the chauffeur meets you at the correct port.
Are child seats available on Mykonos?
Yes. Ask for child or booster seats when you book and give the children's ages, and the partner fits them before pickup. A Business SUV gives a family room for seats, strollers and luggage on the island's roads. If you are travelling with a stroller or extra bags, say so as well, and the desk confirms a vehicle with room for everything.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup. A 10% fee applies at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show. Refunds go to the original card.
