Elly8.net books Raleigh car service and limousines at fixed, all-in prices: Raleigh-Durham International (RDU) to downtown Raleigh is priced from US$160 in a business sedan to US$420 in an Executive Sprinter. The chauffeur tracks your flight, meets you at baggage claim with a name board, and drives you to downtown Raleigh, Research Triangle Park, Durham or Chapel Hill without a meter running.
The Triangle is three cities, three major universities and a research park spread across a lot of highway, and RDU sits in the middle of it. That geography is why so many of our bookings here are multi-stop days rather than single rides. Below are the prices, how pickup works at both RDU terminals, the venues and campuses, and a fair comparison with the GoTriangle bus, taxis and rideshare.
How much is a car service from RDU to downtown Raleigh?
A pre-booked car from Raleigh-Durham International (RDU) to downtown Raleigh costs from US$160 in a business sedan, US$210 in a business SUV, US$260 in a first class SUV, US$280 in a first class sedan and US$420 in an Executive Sprinter. Arriving at RDU: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2
RDU has two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and the airlines are split between them, so check your boarding pass before you tell us where to meet. The airport's own rules put prearranged and private transportation at the limo zones outside baggage claim: Zone 1 at Terminal 1 and Zone 8 at Terminal 2, according to RDU's transportation services page.
In practice, your chauffeur meets you inside baggage claim with a name board, helps with your bags, and walks you out to the limo zone for your terminal, where the car is parked legally and ready. Every pickup is flight-tracked, so if your flight lands early or runs late the pickup follows the real landing time, with complimentary waiting after a tracked landing to collect bags.
If you are flying out, give us the airline and we drop you at the right terminal's departures curb. Our RDU airport car service and meet and greet pages explain the routine. Private and charter flights into the Triangle use general aviation facilities; send the tail number and FBO, and our private jet and FBO car service arranges the meeting point.
Research Triangle Park, Durham and Chapel Hill
Most corporate travellers to Raleigh are actually heading for the Park. Founded in 1959 and set between three Tier-1 research universities, Research Triangle Park covers 7,000 acres and houses more than 385 companies, including science and technology firms, government agencies, academic institutions and startups. RTP is close to RDU, which makes it easy to fly in for a day of meetings and fly out the same evening.
The rest of the map looks like this:
- Downtown Raleigh is the state capital, with the Raleigh Convention Center, the Red Hat Amphitheater, Fayetteville Street, the Warehouse District and Glenwood South for dinner and nightlife.
- North Hills and Midtown Raleigh hold offices, hotels and shopping inside the Beltline.
- NC State's Centennial Campus sits southwest of downtown, with corporate partners on campus.
- Durham has Duke University, the American Tobacco Campus and a downtown full of restaurants.
- Chapel Hill is home to UNC, a natural stop for campus visits, medical appointments and game days.
- Cary and Morrisville, between RDU and Raleigh, hold corporate campuses and hotels.
A day that moves between RTP, Durham and downtown Raleigh is the classic case for an hourly chauffeur in Raleigh: from US$95 an hour in a business sedan or US$120 in a business SUV, 3-hour minimum, with the car waiting at each stop. A full-day chauffeur is priced from US$700 in a sedan to US$1,400 in an Executive Sprinter.
Corporate travel, site visits and roadshows
Site visits are the bread and butter of Triangle corporate travel: a candidate, an investor group or a client team flies into RDU, tours two or three locations across the Park and Durham, has lunch, and leaves on an evening flight. A corporate roadshow day is priced from US$855 in a business sedan to US$1,710 in an Executive Sprinter, and the chauffeur keeps the schedule tight across the region. See roadshow chauffeur and corporate car service for how we plan these days.
Companies, universities and hospitals that book regularly can open a corporate account with monthly invoicing, saved traveller profiles and one point of contact at the 24/7 desk. NDAs are available on request for confidential visits. Rides in Raleigh are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer.
Raleigh Convention Center and events
The Raleigh Convention Center downtown offers 500,000 square feet of flexible space, including a 32,000-square-foot ballroom and a 150,000-square-foot exhibit hall. Convention attendees usually stay downtown, but speakers, sponsors and teams staying in Cary, North Hills or near the airport need reliable transfers. We run conference and trade show transportation with Sprinters on fixed loops and sedans on call.
For nights out, the Lenovo Center is home to the Carolina Hurricanes and NC State Wolfpack basketball and hosts major concert tours, and the Red Hat Amphitheater downtown runs an outdoor concert season. Hurricanes nights mean heavy traffic on the roads around the arena, and a car that waits for you is worth having. The evening out and event night package is priced from US$475 in a business sedan to US$950 in an Executive Sprinter. See sports event transportation and concert transportation.
College football Saturdays in Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill fill the roads in the autumn, and graduation weekends each spring fill every hotel in the Triangle. Families attending graduation should book cars when they book the hotel.
Weddings, proms and celebrations
Triangle weddings use downtown Raleigh hotels, historic venues in Durham and country estates in the surrounding counties, which often means long drives between ceremony and reception. The Executive Sprinter carries the wedding party, a first class sedan carries the couple, and guest shuttles run hourly between hotel blocks and the venue. See wedding limousine and guest shuttles.
Prom season runs in spring; our prom and graduation limousine service follows school rules and parents' instructions, and the chauffeur follows local rules on alcohol in vehicles. For milestone birthdays and nights out in Glenwood South, a Sprinter keeps a group together without the expense of a party bus. Larger groups can see party bus rental with driver.
The private city highlights tour, from US$380 in a sedan to US$760 in a Sprinter, takes first-time visitors past the State Capitol, the museums downtown, the NC Museum of Art park, NC State, Durham's American Tobacco Campus and Duke Chapel. See private city tours.
Elly8.net vs GoTriangle bus vs taxi vs rideshare from RDU
Public transport at RDU is by bus. GoTriangle Route 100 and the RDU Shuttle serve the airport, with stops between Zones 2 and 3 at Terminal 1 and between Zones 6 and 7 at Terminal 2, connecting to the Regional Transit Center and routes across the Triangle, according to RDU. Walk-up taxis wait in the taxi zones at both terminals, and ride app pickups use the same prearranged zones outside baggage claim, Zone 1 and Zone 8, per RDU's taxi and ride app page.
| Option | Price RDU to downtown Raleigh | Time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| GoTriangle bus | Bus fare per person (check GoTriangle) | Bus ride plus transfers and walk | One traveller with light bags, no time pressure |
| Taxi from the taxi zone | Metered; confirm with the driver | About 26 min on a clear road | Walk-up trips without a booking |
| Uber / Lyft / Uber Black | Variable; rises at peaks and on event nights | Wait time plus I-40 traffic | Off-peak solo trips |
| Elly8.net business sedan | from US$160 fixed, all-in | About 26 min on a clear road | Executives, site visits, late flights |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | US$420 fixed, all-in | About 26 min on a clear road | Teams, families, wedding parties with bags |
The fair verdict: if you are one person, travelling light, with time to spare and a hotel near a bus route, the bus is the cheapest way in. A taxi or app ride is fine for a quick off-peak hop. A pre-booked car wins for site visits with a fixed schedule, families with child seats, groups who would otherwise need two cars, late arrivals, and any day with stops in RTP, Durham and Raleigh, where hourly booking beats a string of separate rides.
