A Barcelona chauffeur booked through Elly8.net is a private car and driver at a fixed, all-in price agreed before you fly, charged to your card in US dollars. A transfer from Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) to Passeig de Gràcia starts at US$105 in a business sedan and runs to US$275 in an Executive Sprinter. The chauffeur tracks your flight and waits in arrivals with your name.
Rides in Barcelona are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. This page covers both El Prat terminals, the Eixample and waterfront hotel districts, Fira Gran Via and the trade shows that fill the city, the cruise port, the low-emission zone, Montserrat, and a fair comparison with the taxi rank, the metro and rideshare.
How much is a car from Barcelona airport to the city?
A fixed Elly8.net transfer from El Prat (BCN) to Passeig de Gràcia costs from US$105 in a business sedan, US$140 in a business SUV and US$275 in an Executive Sprinter. The price is per vehicle and includes the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet in arrivals. Tolls and parking are billed at cost.
Passeig de Gràcia is the reference point because it runs through the middle of the Eixample, where most of the city's five-star hotels, flagship stores and Modernista landmarks sit. The same fares cover most central addresses: the Gothic Quarter, El Born, the Diagonal business corridor and the hotels along the beach at the Port Olímpic. A round trip from BCN costs from US$200 in a business sedan to US$525 in a Sprinter, and a First Class Sedan is US$185 one way.
El Prat is about 14 km (9 mi) from Passeig de Gràcia, roughly 19 minutes on a clear road. The route runs along the Ronda Litoral or the Gran Via, and both slow down at the weekday rush, on Friday afternoons in summer and on the opening morning of any big show at Fira Gran Via. Your fare stays fixed whatever the traffic does.
El Prat Terminal 1 and Terminal 2: where you are met
| From BCN to Passeig de Gràcia | Business Sedan | Business SUV | First Class Sedan | First Class SUV | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| One way | US$105 | US$140 | US$185 | US$170 | US$275 |
| Round trip | US$200 | US$270 | US$355 | US$325 | US$525 |
Barcelona-El Prat has two terminals several kilometres apart on the airport site, linked by a free shuttle bus run by the airport. Terminal 1 is the large modern building that handles the long-haul flights from North America, most network airlines and the bulk of European traffic. Terminal 2 is the older building, now used mainly by low-cost and short-haul carriers. Going to the wrong one costs real time, which is why we ask for your flight number: the chauffeur checks which terminal your flight uses, tracks the landing and waits in that arrivals hall with a name board.
Arrivals from the United States and Canada land in the morning, together with flights from the Gulf and the rest of Europe, so passport control and baggage reclaim can take a while. Waiting after a tracked landing is complimentary, so there is no need to rush. If you connect in Madrid, Lisbon or another Schengen hub, you clear immigration there and arrive in Barcelona as an intra-Schengen passenger, which is usually quicker. Book a Barcelona airport transfer for the fixed fare, and see meet and greet for how the meeting works inside the terminal.
For departures, tell the desk your terminal and how early you want to arrive. A business SUV carries four passengers with large cases; families of five or more and groups with golf bags are better in an Executive Sprinter.
Taxi, metro, Aerobús, rideshare or a pre-booked chauffeur
Barcelona has good public transport to the airport, and for some travellers it is the right choice. Here are the verified numbers.
The Barcelona Metropolitan Area sets the taxi tariffs, published in the province's official bulletin for 2026: a €4.60 supplement for trips to or from the airport, a minimum of €21 for any taxi ride starting at the airport with all supplements included, and a fixed €46 for a taxi between the airport and the Moll Adossat cruise terminals (2026 taxi tariffs, Butlletí Oficial de la Província de Barcelona). Beyond those, the meter runs. Metro line L9 Sud stops at both terminals and needs its own Airport ticket, priced at €5.90 by TMB; the standard T-casual card does not open the airport gates. The Aerobús express coach runs from both terminals to Plaça de Catalunya.
| Option | Price | Time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metro L9 Sud | €5.90 Airport ticket | Train plus a change to reach most hotels | Solo travellers with light bags |
| Aerobús coach | Per-person fare, both terminals | To Plaça de Catalunya, then on foot or by taxi | Hotels near Plaça de Catalunya |
| Official Barcelona taxi | Meter, €4.60 airport supplement, €21 minimum from BCN | Same roads as any car | Spontaneous trips, no booking |
| Rideshare | Varies with demand | Pickup at the designated zone | Light travellers comfortable with apps |
| Elly8.net business sedan | US$105 fixed, per vehicle | Door to door, about 19 min on a clear road | Families, groups, late arrivals, executives, fixed budgets |
The honest view: one traveller with a carry-on heading to a hotel near Plaça de Catalunya does well on the Aerobús or the metro. A licensed taxi from the rank is reliable and metered, and the queue is the main drawback after a cluster of morning arrivals or when a show closes at Fira.
A pre-booked chauffeur earns its place with the things around the ride: a name board rather than a queue, child seats fitted before you land, room for four large cases in an SUV, one Sprinter for a family of seven, and a price agreed weeks ahead in your own currency with no surge in MWC week. Hotel districts, offices and the low-emission zone
The Eixample and Passeig de Gràcia. The grid of chamfered blocks between Plaça de Catalunya and the Diagonal holds most of the luxury hotels and the boutiques of Passeig de Gràcia, plus Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. Hotel forecourts are small and loading bays are policed, so the car arrives at the time you set rather than circling.
The Gothic Quarter and El Born. Much of the old town is pedestrian or restricted to residents. The chauffeur drops you at the nearest permitted point, often on Via Laietana or at the edge of Plaça de Catalunya, and the desk plans the last few hundred metres on foot with your bags in mind.
The waterfront and 22@. Hotels at the Port Olímpic, Barceloneta and the Diagonal Mar towers serve both leisure travellers and the technology firms of the 22@ district in Poblenou. The Parc del Fòrum, where Primavera Sound is held, is at the far end of the Diagonal.
Avinguda Diagonal and Zona Alta. The upper Diagonal, Pedralbes and Sarrià hold corporate offices, consulates, private clinics and residential addresses. FC Barcelona's Spotify Camp Nou is in Les Corts, close to the Diagonal; match nights fill the surrounding streets, and a car on standby beats the scramble for taxis at the final whistle.
The low-emission zone. The ZBE Rondes de Barcelona restricts the most polluting vehicles inside the ring roads on weekdays from 7:00 to 20:00, as the Barcelona city council explains. Visitors driving their own or rented foreign-registered cars need to check whether their vehicle qualifies. In a chauffeured car the question does not arise for you: partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, seven for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley, and the partner handles compliance. See the classes and luggage space on the fleet page.
MWC, Fira Gran Via and Barcelona's event calendar
Barcelona is one of Europe's busiest trade-show cities, and most of the big fairs happen at Fira Barcelona Gran Via in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, which sits between the city and the airport: about 8 km (5 mi) from El Prat and 6 km (4 mi) from Passeig de Gràcia. During a show, hotels fill city-wide, metro line L9 and the taxi ranks overload at closing time, and executives rely on cars booked in advance.
These are the next editions published by the organisers:
- Smart City Expo World Congress, 3 to 5 November 2026, at Fira Gran Via, with city delegations moving between the venue and central hotels (Smart City Expo).
- IBTM World, 17 to 19 November 2026, the meetings and events industry's trade show, also at Gran Via.
- ISE 2027, 2 to 5 February 2027, Integrated Systems Europe, the audiovisual industry's largest show.
- MWC Barcelona 2027, 1 to 4 March 2027, at Fira Gran Via, as published by the GSMA on the MWC Barcelona site. MWC week is the tightest of the year for hotels and cars in Barcelona. Book the airport transfer and an hourly car for meeting days as early as you can; partners commit vehicles to the earliest confirmed bookings.
- Seafood Expo Global, 20 to 22 April 2027, at Gran Via.
- Primavera Sound, 2 to 6 June 2027, at the Parc del Fòrum on the Diagonal Mar waterfront, where late sets finish long after the metro closes.
- Sónar, 17 to 19 June 2027, the music and technology festival; the 2027 venue had not been announced at the time of writing.
For a show week, a car by the hour is usually the right tool: US$85 an hour in a business sedan, US$110 in a business SUV and US$170 in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum. The chauffeur waits near your hall entrance, takes you to lunches in the Eixample and back for afternoon meetings, and stays on for the evening. Exhibitors and hosted-buyer programmes moving teams should read conference and trade show transportation, and festival-goers concert and festival transportation.
For dinners, galas and late nights, the evening out and event night package costs from US$425 in a business sedan to US$850 in an Executive Sprinter. More on event transportation.
Cruise port transfers
Barcelona is one of the Mediterranean's main cruise home ports, and turnaround days bring thousands of passengers from El Prat to the ships at once. The Port de Barcelona lists seven international passenger terminals on the Adossat quay and the Barcelona quay: Terminals A, B and C, Terminal D (Palacruceros), Terminal E (Helix), the MSC terminal and the World Trade Center terminal. The Adossat terminals are about 12 km (7 mi) from the airport by road.
Tell the desk your ship and terminal when you book. The chauffeur goes to the drop-off area for that terminal, and on disembarkation day meets you after you have collected your bags. A common plan is a pre-cruise night in the Eixample, a morning city tour with the luggage in the car, and a mid-afternoon drop at the ship; the web booker quotes that as a multi-stop day. A business SUV or Sprinter handles a full week's cruise luggage. See cruise port transfers for how the service works in all our port cities.
Montserrat and other days out
The signature Barcelona day trip is a 6-hour private trip to Montserrat, the Benedictine monastery set high on the serrated mountain about 60 km (37 mi) north-west of the city, roughly an hour each way. It costs from US$470 in a business sedan, US$610 in a business SUV, US$775 in a First Class Sedan, US$720 in a First Class SUV and US$940 in an Executive Sprinter, all-in. The final climb is a mountain road; your chauffeur takes it while you look at the view, and waits while you visit the basilica and ride the funiculars. The Montserrat visitor site publishes opening times and choir schedules, so plan the day around them.
Other popular days out work on the full-day chauffeur, from US$630 in a business sedan to US$1,255 in a Sprinter: the cava houses of the Penedès to the south-west, a shopping day at La Roca Village outlet about 37 km (23 mi) north-east, Girona and the Costa Brava, or Sitges for lunch by the sea. Our wine tours page explains how a tasting day runs. The chauffeur drives, so the rest of the group can enjoy the cellars; the chauffeur follows local rules in the vehicle itself.
In the city, the private city highlights tour costs from US$340 in a business sedan to US$680 in a Sprinter. It links the Sagrada Família, Park Güell, Casa Batlló and the Montjuïc viewpoints with stops where you choose. The Sagrada Família and Park Güell both use timed tickets, so book entry slots first and the car around them. See private city tours.
Corporate travel, weddings and groups
Barcelona's corporate travel is a mix of trade-show weeks, conferences and company headquarters on the Diagonal and in 22@. A corporate account gives your company fixed fares at El Prat, roadshow days, monthly invoicing and NDAs on request. The corporate roadshow day costs from US$765 in a business sedan to US$1,530 in an Executive Sprinter for a full deal team, with the car held between meetings. Read corporate car service and investor roadshows for how those days are planned.
Destination weddings in Barcelona and in the masias and vineyards outside the city use a First Class Sedan for the couple and an Executive Sprinter with driver for guests; see wedding transportation. Event planners can book on account through travel agent accounts, and hotels through hotel accounts.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a car service from Barcelona airport to the city centre?
A fixed Elly8.net transfer from El Prat to Passeig de Gràcia costs from US$105 in a business sedan, US$140 in a business SUV, US$185 in a First Class Sedan and US$275 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle. It includes the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. Tolls and parking are billed at cost.
Which terminal will I land at, and where does the chauffeur wait?
Flights from North America and most network airlines use Terminal 1; Terminal 2 handles mainly low-cost and short-haul carriers. The chauffeur checks your terminal from your flight number, tracks the landing and waits in that arrivals hall with a name board once you have collected your bags.
What if passport control or baggage is slow?
The chauffeur follows the tracked landing time, and waiting after a tracked landing is complimentary, which covers the usual immigration and baggage delays at El Prat in the morning arrival wave. If your flight is cancelled or diverted, call the 24/7 desk and we move the booking to your new arrival.
Is the metro or a taxi cheaper than a chauffeur?
For one person, yes. The L9 Sud Airport ticket is €5.90, and a metered taxi from the airport has a €21 minimum with a €4.60 airport supplement under the 2026 tariffs. For two or more travellers with luggage, a fixed US$105 car door to door is closer in cost and removes queues and changes.
Can you take us to a cruise ship?
Yes. Give the desk your ship and terminal, whether Terminals A to E, the MSC terminal or the World Trade Center terminal, and the chauffeur goes to that drop-off area. Multi-stop days that combine a city tour with a ship drop are quoted through the web booker, and an SUV or Sprinter takes a week's luggage.
Do I need to know about the low-emission zone?
Not in a chauffeured car. The ZBE Rondes de Barcelona applies on weekdays from 7:00 to 20:00 and restricts the most polluting vehicles. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, and the partner handles compliance, so it only matters if you drive a rental or your own car.
Are child seats available?
Yes. Ask for child or booster seats when you book and give the children's ages; the partner fits them before pickup. A Business SUV or Executive Sprinter gives a family room for seats, a stroller and transatlantic luggage in one vehicle.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less a 10% fee applies, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show. Refunds return to the original card. During MWC week, book early; the terms are the same.
