IBTM World 2026 takes place from 17 to 19 November 2026 at Fira Barcelona Gran Via in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, according to the IBTM World site. It is the meetings, incentives and events industry's big annual show, where, in the organiser's words, you can meet 2,500 destinations, hotels, event tech providers and suppliers from more than 150 countries. Corporate event planners, agency buyers and Hosted Buyers fill the halls for three days of pre-scheduled meetings.
This is an audience that books ground transport for a living, and it knows what a good transfer looks like. Elly8.net books IBTM week at fixed, all-in Barcelona prices: from US$105 in a business sedan from El Prat to Passeig de Gràcia, chauffeurs by the hour for the hotel and venue site inspections that fill the days around the show, and Sprinters for delegations.
What is the best way to get to IBTM World at Fira Gran Via?
Book a fixed transfer from El Prat to your hotel, from US$105 in a business sedan to US$275 in an Executive Sprinter, then take metro line L9 Sud or a car to Fira Gran Via. For site inspections across Barcelona and evening events, keep a chauffeur by the hour from US$85 an hour, with a 3-hour minimum.
The show is in Hall 3, and IBTM asks visitors to use the Accés Sud entrance, according to its venue and travel page. Opening hours are 08:45 to 18:00 on Tuesday, 08:45 to 19:00 on Wednesday and 08:45 to 17:00 on Thursday, so evening pickups can be planned around a fixed close.

The geography of IBTM week
Fira Barcelona Gran Via sits in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, between the city and the airport: about 8 km (5 mi) from El Prat and 6 km (4 mi) from Passeig de Gràcia by road, around a quarter of an hour on a clear road. Most planners stay in the Eixample, on the Diagonal or by the sea, and travel out each morning; at closing time the metro and the taxi ranks at the venue are at their busiest.
| Route | Distance | Clear-road time | Elly8.net fixed fare |
|---|---|---|---|
| El Prat (BCN) to Passeig de Gràcia | about 14 km (9 mi) | about 19 min | from US$105 to US$275 |
| BCN round trip | from US$200 to US$525 | ||
| Passeig de Gràcia to Fira Gran Via | about 6 km (4 mi) | about 13 min | by the hour from US$85 an hour |
| El Prat to Fira Gran Via | about 8 km (5 mi) | about 13 min | quote in the web booker |
Going from the airport straight to the venue with luggage, common for exhibitors on the first morning, takes one booking: enter Fira Gran Via as the drop-off in the web booker, and add your hotel as a second stop later in the day.
Arriving at El Prat
Barcelona-El Prat has two terminals several kilometres apart, linked by a free airport shuttle bus. Terminal 1 handles the long-haul flights from North America and most network airlines; Terminal 2 is used mainly by low-cost and short-haul carriers. The flight number tells the chauffeur which terminal to wait in.
The chauffeur tracks your flight, meets you in the arrivals hall with a name board and allows complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. Fixed transfers from El Prat to Passeig de Gràcia run from US$105 in a business sedan and US$140 in a business SUV to US$275 in an Executive Sprinter, all-in with chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. Round trips booked together run from US$200 to US$525. See airport transfers and meet and greet.
Hosted Buyers and exhibitors. IBTM says eligible Hosted Buyers receive complimentary flights and accommodation, a diary of pre-scheduled meetings and a complimentary airport transfer to their host hotel on Monday. The organiser's exhibitor and Hosted Buyer shuttle runs from the airport to Fira Gran Via on Tuesday between 07:30 and 09:30, and back from Fira to the airport on Thursday between 16:00 and 18:00. If your flights fall outside those windows, or you are not on the programme, a pre-booked car fills the gap.
Senior buyers arriving privately give the desk the tail number and handler; see private jet and FBO transfers.
The IBTM plan: when a chauffeur makes sense
Site inspections. Many planners use IBTM week to inspect hotels, venues and restaurants for future events in Barcelona. An hourly chauffeur links six or seven properties in a day without taxi queues between them; in Barcelona, hourly service runs from US$85 in a business sedan to US$170 in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum. For a full day of inspections, the 8-hour full-day chauffeur runs from US$630 to US$1,255.
Back-to-back days. For a senior buyer or an agency director with meetings at the show, a lunch in the city and dinners in the evening, the 10-hour corporate roadshow day runs from US$765 to US$1,530. See roadshow chauffeur.
Destination and hotel teams. Exhibitors who host clients after hours, or who run their own fam trips around the show, keep an Executive Sprinter for groups. See group transportation and conference transportation.
Evening events. Receptions and client dinners fill the evenings. The 5-hour evening out and event night package runs from US$425 in a business sedan to US$850 in an Executive Sprinter, with the chauffeur waiting through dinner. Chauffeurs follow local rules on alcohol in vehicles.
Discretion. Incentive and event contracts are negotiated in cars too. NDAs are available on request. Elly8.net is a chauffeur service, not a security company.
Getting in and out of Fira Gran Via
Give the desk the entrance you need; for IBTM, the organiser points visitors to the Accés Sud entrance for Hall 3. Before each pickup, the chauffeur sends the exact meeting point and the vehicle details by message. At the Thursday close, when exhibitors and buyers leave together, the chauffeur may pick a meeting point a short walk away from the busiest kerb and tell you which.
Barcelona's low-emission zone restricts the most polluting vehicles inside the ring roads on weekdays from 7:00 to 20:00, as the city council explains. In a chauffeured car the question does not arise for you: partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, seven for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley, and the partner handles compliance.
Corporate and agency accounts
Event agencies and corporate travel teams know this model well. A corporate account puts every traveller's rides on one monthly invoice, itemised by passenger and project. Agencies can book for clients through a travel agent account, and hotels can book cars for their guests through a hotel account, which also suits destination teams exhibiting at IBTM. For year-round business travel, see corporate car service.
Elly8.net vs the metro, taxis and the shuttle
The metro is a good option for Fira Gran Via. IBTM says line L9 runs from Terminal 1 directly to the venue in about 19 minutes, and Europa/Fira is the nearest station. The airport metro stations need their own Airport ticket, priced at €5.90 by TMB; the standard T-casual card does not open the airport gates.
Taxis are regulated: the Barcelona Metropolitan Area sets a €4.60 supplement for trips to or from the airport and a minimum of €21 for any taxi ride starting at the airport, with all supplements included, according to the 2026 taxi tariffs. Beyond those, the meter runs.
| Option | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Metro L9 Sud from Terminal 1 | €5.90 Airport ticket | solo travellers going straight to the venue |
| Taxi from El Prat | €21 minimum, then metered | one or two travellers, light bags |
| IBTM shuttle | free for eligible exhibitors and Hosted Buyers | travellers on the programme within the shuttle windows |
| Elly8.net business sedan | from US$105 to Passeig de Gràcia, fixed and all-in | senior buyers, late flights, fixed budgets |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | from US$275, fixed and all-in | delegations and teams with luggage |
The honest reading: a solo planner with a carry-on does well on the L9 or a taxi. A chauffeur wins for site inspection days, for delegations, for late arrivals, for exhibitors with cases and for evenings across the city. See chauffeur vs taxi, chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft and chauffeur vs shared airport shuttle.
