The route north: what to expect on the road
From YUL the route heads north out of the island and up Autoroute 15 through Saint-Jerome, then onto Route 117 and the Laurentian valleys to the resort. On a clear weekday it is just under two hours. On a Friday afternoon in ski season, when Montreal empties toward the mountains, or after a heavy snowfall, it can take noticeably longer, and we tell you that at booking rather than at the curb.
Winter matters on this drive. Quebec requires winter tires on Quebec-registered vehicles from December 1 to March 15, according to the Government of Quebec, and the partner vehicles on this route are equipped for the season. For a family with ski bags in January, we usually suggest a business SUV over a sedan for the space and the ride. Tremblant's 2026-27 ski season is scheduled from November 26, 2026 to April 18, 2027, according to the resort's opening hours page. The busiest weeks for car service are the Christmas and New Year period, the US Presidents' Day weekend, Quebec's March school break and US spring break weeks, when flights into YUL are full of skiers and the shuttle seats go early.
Once you are on the mountain, most people do not need a car every day.
