Portland car service on Elly8.net starts at US$145 in a business sedan from Portland International Airport (PDX) to downtown Portland, US$190 in a business SUV and US$380 in an Executive Sprinter. The price is fixed and all-in: chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet. It does not move with a rainy-Friday surge or a Blazers game letting out.
PDX sits on the Columbia River northeast of the city, about 12 miles (20 km) from downtown and roughly 20 minutes on a clear road, longer on I-84 or I-205 at rush hour. Rides in Portland are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.

Portland International (PDX): the new terminal and where to meet
PDX looks very different from a few years ago. According to Travel Portland, the airport unveiled its renovated main terminal in August 2024, under a mass timber roof built from sustainably harvested Douglas fir sourced within a 600-mile radius of Portland. It is a pleasant place to land, and the layout has changed, so the old pickup spots no longer apply.
PDX's own guidance says limos and town cars meet passengers on the lower roadway outside baggage claim, at the far end closest to the parking garage. Taxis and rideshare are elsewhere: both now pick up inside Level 1 of the Short-Term Parking garage, in the Transportation Plaza, with garage columns labelled by provider.
With Elly8.net, add your flight number when you book. The desk tracks the flight, the chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim with a name board and walks you out to the car on the lower roadway, and you get complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. For departures, the car drops you at the departures curb; on a weekday morning we usually suggest leaving downtown about two hours before a domestic flight. See airport transfers and airport meet and greet.
Portland taxi vs rideshare vs MAX vs Elly8.net
Portland's airport train is genuinely good, and it is worth saying plainly. According to PDX, the MAX Red Line station sits at the south end of the terminal, reachable from the ticket lobby or baggage claim level, and trains depart every 15 minutes. Travel Portland puts the ride between the airport and downtown at under 40 minutes. TriMet charges an adult US$2.80 for 2½ hours of travel, and once you have spent US$5.60 in a day the rest of the day is free.
| Option | PDX to downtown Portland | Time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| MAX Red Line | US$2.80 adult, 2½ hours (TriMet) | under 40 min, every 15 min | Solo traveller, light bags, hotel near MAX |
| Taxi | metered fare | about 20 min clear road; Level 1, Short-Term garage | Walk-up arrivals |
| Rideshare (standard and premium tiers) | varies with demand | same roads; Level 1, Short-Term garage | Flexible plans, off-peak |
| Elly8.net business sedan | US$145, fixed and all-in | about 20 min clear road, chauffeur waiting at baggage claim | Meetings, late flights, fixed budget |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | US$380 for the vehicle | same | Teams, families, wedding parties |
The honest reading: if you are one person with a carry-on, staying downtown near a MAX stop, the train at US$2.80 is the best value in the city, and we would book it ourselves. A taxi or rideshare is fine for a short off-peak hop with a bag. A pre-booked chauffeur wins when you land late, when you are three or more with luggage and the fares add up, when you need child seats (available on request), when you are going to Beaverton, Hillsboro or a winery rather than downtown, and when a fixed number matters more than the lowest one. Downtown, the Pearl and the hotel districts
Most Portland visitors stay in one of a few districts, and each has its own curb habits.
Downtown, around Pioneer Courthouse Square and the waterfront along the Willamette River, holds the main business towers and hotels. The streets are a tight grid with bus and streetcar lanes, so the chauffeur will usually pick up at the hotel entrance or a side street rather than wait in a transit lane. The Pearl District, north of downtown, mixes converted warehouses with hotels and restaurants, and Northwest 23rd Avenue beyond it is the shopping street.
Across the river, the Lloyd District is home to the convention centre and its hotels, a short drive or MAX ride from downtown. Further out, the business parks of Beaverton and Hillsboro to the west are where much of the region's technology and corporate work happens, and where a car beats transit for back-to-back meetings.
For a day of meetings, hourly service starts at US$95 an hour in a business sedan and US$120 in a business SUV, with a 3-hour minimum. A full-day chauffeur starts at US$700. See hourly chauffeur service.
Oregon Convention Center, Moda Center and event nights
The Oregon Convention Center at 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard is Portland's main exhibition venue. Its calendar for the coming week includes the Functional Fabric Fair on October 27 and 28, 2026, and the ZERO TO THREE LEARN Conference on October 28 and 29, 2026. For multi-day shows, we run hotel loops, booth-team schedules and VIP arrivals; see conference and trade show transportation.
A few blocks away, the Rose Quarter brings together Moda Center, Veterans Memorial Coliseum and Theater of the Clouds. Moda Center is home to the Portland Trail Blazers, and the Portland Winterhawks also play in the Rose Quarter. West of downtown, Providence Park is the city's soccer stadium, home of the Portland Timbers. Game nights empty onto the same few streets at the same time, so we stage the car at an agreed pickup point a short walk from the gates.
Each spring the Portland Rose Festival brings parades and waterfront events; its 2027 dates had not been posted when this page was written. The evening out and event night package covers the drive in, the wait and the drive home, from US$475 in a business sedan and US$600 in a business SUV to US$950 in an Executive Sprinter. See sports event transportation and concert and festival transportation.
Corporate travel and roadshows
Portland's corporate travel splits between the downtown towers and the western suburbs, with law firms, banks and agencies in the core and technology campuses in Hillsboro and Beaverton. A roadshow day here usually means downtown in the morning and the west side in the afternoon, which is exactly the trip where a chauffeur who knows the Sunset Highway at 4 p.m. saves time.
The corporate roadshow day package starts at US$855 in a business sedan and US$1,080 in a business SUV, up to US$1,710 in an Executive Sprinter. A corporate account gives monthly invoicing, and NDAs are available on request. See corporate car service and roadshow chauffeur.
Weddings, proms and nights out
Portland weddings often run between a downtown hotel, a garden or rooftop ceremony and a reception out in the Willamette Valley wine country, which makes transport part of the plan rather than an afterthought. A full-day chauffeur stays with the couple, and an Executive Sprinter carries the wedding party or shuttles guests between hotel and venue. Prom nights follow a fixed pickup list and a firm return time. See wedding limousine service and prom limousines. The chauffeur follows Oregon's rules on alcohol in vehicles, so the toasts stay at the venue.
The Columbia River Gorge and Multnomah Falls day trip
The signature trip from Portland is east into the Columbia River Gorge. Multnomah Falls is about 30 miles (49 km) from downtown, roughly 43 minutes on a clear road, and the gorge beyond it runs past viewpoints and waterfalls along the Historic Columbia River Highway toward Hood River.
Our six-hour Columbia River Gorge and Multnomah Falls package starts at US$525 in a business sedan and US$665 in a business SUV, US$805 in a first class SUV, up to US$1,050 in an Executive Sprinter. Plan ahead in summer: according to the U.S. Forest Service, seasonal timed reservation tickets are required for day use at Multnomah Falls from May to September. The Forest Service also notes that the Multnomah Falls restrooms are closed for renovation through November 2026. The desk plans the day around your reservation time, with the waterfall stops early and lunch further east.
Willamette Valley wine country
The other classic day out is south and west into the Willamette Valley, Oregon's best-known wine country; the Willamette Valley Wineries Association lists its wineries, tasting rooms and sub-regions. Dundee, in the heart of the Dundee Hills, is about 27 miles (43 km) from downtown, roughly 48 minutes on a clear road, and McMinnville is about 39 miles (63 km), just over an hour.
A wine day works best by the hour or as a full-day chauffeur, from US$700 in a business sedan, so the same chauffeur and car stay with you between tasting rooms. Many wineries ask for tasting appointments, so book those first and send us the schedule. See wine country tours. The private city highlights tour, from US$380 to US$760, covers downtown, the Pearl, Washington Park's gardens and the west hills viewpoints. See private city tours.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a car service from PDX to downtown Portland?
On Elly8.net, PDX to downtown Portland costs US$145 in a business sedan, US$190 in a business SUV and US$380 in an Executive Sprinter, fixed and all-in. That covers the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet. A round trip starts at US$280 in a sedan.
Where will my chauffeur meet me at PDX?
Inside at baggage claim, holding a name board, with the car waiting on the lower roadway outside baggage claim, where PDX directs limos and town cars. Add your flight number when you book; the desk tracks it, and you get complimentary waiting after a tracked landing.
Is the MAX train cheaper than a car from PDX?
Yes, for one person. TriMet's adult fare is US$2.80 for 2½ hours, trains leave every 15 minutes, and the ride to downtown takes under 40 minutes. It is the best choice for a solo traveller with light bags near a MAX stop. A pre-booked car is better for groups, late arrivals, child seats and suburban addresses.
Do I need a permit to visit Multnomah Falls?
In summer, yes. The U.S. Forest Service says seasonal timed reservation tickets are required for day use at Multnomah Falls from May to September. Book your time slot first and send it to the desk; our six-hour Gorge package, from US$525 in a business sedan, is planned around it.
Can you take us on a Willamette Valley wine tour?
Yes. Dundee is about 27 miles (43 km) from downtown and McMinnville about 39 miles (63 km). Book a full-day chauffeur from US$700 or hourly service from US$95 an hour (3-hour minimum), and the same car and chauffeur stay with you between tasting appointments. The chauffeur follows Oregon's rules on alcohol in vehicles.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes, child seats are available on request. Tell us each child's age and weight when you book so the right seats are fitted before pickup. For families with several bags, a business SUV gives far more room than a sedan, and the price stays per vehicle.
What is your cancellation policy?
Free cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less the charge is 10%, at 48 hours or less it is 50%, and at 24 hours or less, or for a no-show, it is 100%. Refunds go back to the original card.
Can you handle a convention group or corporate event in Portland?
Yes. Several vehicles can be booked together for an Oregon Convention Center show, a product launch or a wedding, with pickups matched to each flight. Corporate roadshow days start at US$855 in a business sedan, NDAs are available on request, and a corporate account gives you monthly invoicing.
