Maui car service on Elly8.net is priced before you fly: a business sedan from Kahului Airport (OGG) to Kaanapali starts at US$270 all-in, a business SUV is US$355 and an Executive Sprinter for a family reunion or a wedding party is US$705. The price includes the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet, and it does not change with the afternoon traffic on the Honoapiilani Highway.
Rides in Maui are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. After a long flight to the islands, the drive to the west side is close to an hour, and a car that is already booked, already paid and already waiting is the point.
How much is a car service from Kahului airport to Kaanapali?
A pre-booked car from Kahului Airport (OGG) to Kaanapali costs from US$270 in a business sedan to US$705 in an Executive Sprinter on Elly8.net, fixed and all-in. The road distance is about 45 km (28 mi), roughly 52 minutes on a clear road and longer in the afternoon or when the coast road is slow.
The fares panel on this page lists every vehicle class. In round numbers, an OGG to Kaanapali transfer runs from US$270 (business sedan) through US$355 (business SUV) and US$435 to US$475 (first class SUV and first class sedan) up to US$705 for an Executive Sprinter. A round trip booked together starts at US$515 in a sedan and reaches US$1,340 in a Sprinter.
Parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost; Maui has no toll roads. The price is per vehicle rather than per person, so a family of five with luggage and a car seat in a business SUV pays US$355 in total. Wailea, Makena, Kapalua, Napili and Kihei are priced by address in the web booker.
Kahului Airport (OGG): where your chauffeur meets you
Kahului is Maui's main airport and handles both mainland and inter-island flights. When you book, add your flight number. The desk tracks the flight and adjusts the pickup if you land early or late, and your chauffeur meets you at baggage claim with a name board. You get complimentary waiting after a tracked landing, which covers the usual wait for checked bags and surfboard or golf bags at the oversize area.
Taxis at OGG wait in front of the baggage claim area, and ride app pickups use marked zones. The pre-booked chauffeur skips both: you meet at the carousel and walk out to the car together.
| From OGG to | Distance | Clear road | Busy periods | Elly8.net from |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kaanapali resorts | about 45 km (28 mi) | about 52 min | 60 to 80 min in the afternoon | US$270 sedan |
| Round trip, OGG and Kaanapali | same | same | same | US$515 sedan |
| Wailea, Makena, Kihei (South Maui) | shorter than Kaanapali | varies | varies | web booker |
| Kapalua, Napili, Honokowai (West Maui beyond Kaanapali) | longer than Kaanapali | varies | varies | web booker |
For departures, the chauffeur drops you at the departures curb. From Kaanapali, we usually suggest leaving at least 3 hours before a mainland departure: the drive is close to an hour, the coast road can slow with roadworks or an accident and there are few alternatives, and bags going to the mainland pass an agricultural inspection before check-in. More on airport pickups is on our airport transfers and airport meet and greet pages.
Kapalua Airport (JHM)
West Maui also has a small airport. According to the state's airport page, Kapalua Airport (JHM) sits on the west side of the island near the Kaanapali and Lahaina resort areas and is served by commuter planes. If you are hopping over from another island on a small carrier, a JHM pickup to a Kapalua or Kaanapali hotel is a much shorter ride than one from Kahului. Enter it in the web booker with your flight number.
Maui taxi vs rideshare vs Maui Bus vs Elly8.net
Maui is one of the few places where the airport itself publishes taxi estimates, and they are useful. According to the OGG taxicab page, estimated taxi fares from the airport are US$87 to Kaanapali, US$78 to Lahaina and US$57 to Wailea, with a metered rate of US$3.00 per mile; the airport notes these are estimates and can change.
The bus is not really a visitor option from the airport. The Maui Bus routes from OGG, the Upcountry Islander and the Haiku Islander, run about every 90 minutes, and passengers may bring one medium-sized bag no larger than 22 by 14 by 9 inches that fits under the seat or on the lap.
| Option | OGG to Kaanapali | Time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maui Bus from the airport | county bus fare, one medium bag only | about every 90 min, not a direct resort service | Locals, very light travellers |
| Taxi from the baggage claim front | about US$87 estimated, plus tip; US$3.00 per mile metered | about 52 min clear road | One or two people, walk-up |
| Rideshare from the marked zones | varies with demand and time of day | same roads, plus the wait for a match | Off-peak, light luggage |
| Elly8.net business sedan | from US$270, fixed and all-in | about 52 min, chauffeur waiting in baggage claim | Fixed budgets, honeymoons, late arrivals |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | US$705 for the vehicle | same | Families, groups, weddings, surf and golf bags |
The honest reading: a taxi to Kaanapali is estimated at about a third of the price of a pre-booked sedan, and for a couple with light bags landing at midday, it is the better value. A pre-booked chauffeur makes sense when there are children who need seats (available on request), when the group and the luggage need an SUV or a Sprinter, when you land in the evening and do not want to depend on what is waiting, or when you want the cost fixed in advance. A taxi or rideshare can also be scarce at quieter hours on an island, which is not a risk most families want after a mainland flight. See chauffeur vs taxi and chauffeur vs renting a car, which matters on Maui more than most places.
Kaanapali, Wailea, Kapalua and the resort districts
Maui's resort areas are spread around the island, and each has its own drive.
Kaanapali, where this page measures its distances, is the West Maui beach resort strip of large hotels and condos along Kaanapali Beach, with the golf courses behind them. Hotel driveways are busy at check-in time, and the chauffeur will use the hotel's porte-cochere or arrival area. North of it, Honokowai, Napili and Kapalua continue up the coast to the bays and the golf at Kapalua, a longer ride from Kahului.
On the other side of the island, Wailea and Makena in South Maui are the other major resort district, with Kihei just north of them. From Kahului, South Maui is the shorter drive, which is why the airport's taxi estimate to Wailea is lower than to Kaanapali. Upcountry, Makawao and Kula sit on the slopes of Haleakala, and Paia on the north shore is the starting point for the Road to Hana. All of these are priced in the web booker.
Lahaina: travelling respectfully during the recovery
Lahaina was devastated by the August 2023 wildfire, and the town is still rebuilding. It is a community first, and we ask every guest to treat it that way.
The County of Maui publishes current access rules on Maui Recovers. As of its August 2026 update, pier access at Lahaina Small Boat Harbor has resumed for daytime use only, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.; only operators with valid state permits may run tours from the harbour; visitors on those tours park at the Prison Street lot and are escorted to the harbour by their operator; and some streets in the harbour area remain closed while others are open for driving only, with no parking. Harbour-area streets reopened for daytime access on December 15, 2025.
There are also signs of the town coming back. The County announced that Ulu o Lele, an interim marketplace for local businesses and community gatherings on the former Outlets of Maui site, holds its free, public grand opening on November 10, 2026. Supporting Lahaina businesses that are open is one of the most useful things a visitor can do.
In practice, that means three things for a booking. Chauffeurs route through West Maui on the roads that are open and follow the County's current access rules. We do not run sightseeing drives through the burn zone. And if you have a harbour tour booked, send us the operator's meeting instructions so the drop-off matches them.
Haleakala sunrise and the Road to Hana day
Two of Maui's signature experiences start very early or run very long, and both are easier with someone else driving.
Watching sunrise from the summit of Haleakala needs a reservation. According to Haleakala National Park, sunrise reservations are booked on recreation.gov for the 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. window, up to 60 days ahead, with tickets released at 7 a.m. Hawaii time and a portion held back until 48 hours before. The drive from the entrance gate to the summit alone takes about 30 minutes, so a West Maui pickup is in the middle of the night. Book the reservation first, then an hourly chauffeur from US$105 an hour in a business sedan (3-hour minimum), and the desk times the pickup to your slot.
The signature day is the 10-hour Road to Hana, from US$970 in a business sedan and US$1,245 in a business SUV to US$1,935 in an Executive Sprinter. The Hana Highway winds along the north-east coast through hundreds of curves and many one-lane bridges, past waterfalls, black-sand beaches and the botanical gardens on the way to Hana town. It is a beautiful road and a tiring one to drive yourself, and with a chauffeur everyone in the car gets to look out of the window.
One stop needs planning ahead. Waianapanapa State Park, with its black-sand beach near the end of the highway, requires reservations for entry and parking for all visitors; the state lists a US$5 per person entry fee and US$10 parking for non-residents, and hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Reserve a time slot and send it to the desk, and the day is planned around it. Beyond Hana, the Kipahulu district of Haleakala National Park is the turnaround for many groups.
Weddings, corporate retreats and evenings out
Destination weddings are a large share of Maui bookings: a hotel pickup, a beach or garden ceremony, photos at a lookout at golden hour and a dinner reception. An hourly booking or a full-day chauffeur, from US$775 in a business sedan to US$1,550 in an Executive Sprinter, keeps one car with the couple, and a Sprinter moves the family. See wedding limousine service and group transportation.
For incentive trips and corporate retreats at the Wailea and Kaanapali resorts, the corporate roadshow day package runs from US$945 in a business sedan to US$1,890 in an Executive Sprinter, and several vehicles can move a team between hotels, golf and dinner. A corporate account gives monthly invoicing and NDAs on request; see corporate car service and event transportation. For a dinner out or a luau, the evening out and event night package runs from US$525 in a business sedan to US$1,050 in an Executive Sprinter. The chauffeur follows Hawaii's rules on alcohol in vehicles, so plan the toast for the venue.
The private city highlights tour, from US$420 in a business sedan to US$840 in an Executive Sprinter, is a few hours for the Iao Valley, Paia, Upcountry and the south shore lookouts. See private city tours.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a car from Kahului airport to Kaanapali?
On Elly8.net, a transfer from Kahului Airport (OGG) to Kaanapali costs from US$270 in a business sedan and US$355 in a business SUV, up to US$705 in an Executive Sprinter. The price is fixed and all-in: chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet. Parking and extra waiting are billed at cost.
How long is the drive from OGG to Kaanapali?
About 45 km (28 mi), roughly 52 minutes on a clear road, and often an hour or more in the afternoon. Wailea and the rest of South Maui are a shorter drive from Kahului; Kapalua and Napili are longer. Leave at least 3 hours before a mainland flight when you head back.
Where will my chauffeur meet me at Kahului?
At baggage claim, holding a name board. Add your flight number when you book; the desk tracks the flight and adjusts the pickup time, and you get complimentary waiting after a tracked landing, which covers oversize bags such as surfboards and golf clubs.
Is a taxi cheaper than a car service on Maui?
Usually, for a couple with light bags. The airport estimates a taxi to Kaanapali at about US$87 and to Wailea at about US$57. A pre-booked car costs more but is fixed, waits for you inside, fits a family with child seats and luggage, and does not depend on what is available when you land.
How much is the Road to Hana tour with a driver?
The 10-hour Road to Hana day costs from US$970 in a business sedan, US$1,245 in a business SUV and US$1,935 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle. Reserve Waianapanapa State Park in advance if you want to stop there, and the chauffeur plans the day around your time slot.
Can we visit Lahaina?
Lahaina is rebuilding after the 2023 wildfire, and access rules are set by the County of Maui. The harbour is open in daylight for permitted tour operators, and the Ulu o Lele marketplace opens on November 10, 2026. Chauffeurs use open roads only and do not run sightseeing drives through the burn zone.
Do you provide child seats on Maui?
Yes, child seats are available on request. Tell us each child's age and weight when you book so the right seat is fitted before pickup. After a mainland flight, having the seat installed and the car waiting saves a lot of time, and the price is fixed per vehicle.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel more than 72 hours before pickup and it is free. At 72 hours or less the charge is 10%, at 48 hours or less it is 50%, and at 24 hours or less, or for a no-show, it is 100%. Refunds go back to the original card used for the booking.
