A Lisbon chauffeur booked through Elly8.net is a private car and driver at a fixed, all-in price agreed before you fly, charged to your card in US dollars. A transfer from Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) to Avenida da Liberdade starts at US$90 in a business sedan and runs to US$235 in an Executive Sprinter. The chauffeur tracks your flight and waits in arrivals with your name.
Rides in Lisbon are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Lisbon's airport is one of the closest to any European capital centre, its hills and tram lanes make the last few hundred metres to a hotel tricky, and the Sintra and Cascais coast is half an hour away. This page covers the airport, the hotel districts, Web Summit and the city's events, the signature Sintra and Cascais day, and a fair comparison with the metro, the taxi rank and rideshare.
How much is a car from Lisbon airport to the city?
A fixed Elly8.net transfer from Lisbon airport (LIS) to Avenida da Liberdade costs from US$90 in a business sedan, US$120 in a business SUV and US$235 in an Executive Sprinter. The price is per vehicle and includes the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet in arrivals. Tolls and parking are billed at cost.
Avenida da Liberdade is the reference point because the city's grand boulevard holds many of its five-star hotels and flagship stores, running down from Marquês de Pombal to the Baixa. The same fares cover most central addresses: Chiado, Baixa, Príncipe Real, Alfama, the riverfront at Cais do Sodré and the business hotels around Saldanha. A round trip from LIS costs from US$175 in a business sedan to US$450 in a Sprinter, and a First Class Sedan is US$160 one way.
LIS is about 13 km (8 mi) from Avenida da Liberdade by road, roughly 17 minutes on a clear road via the Segunda Circular and the avenues. Weekday rush hours and Friday evenings are slower, and the final approach into the steep, narrow streets of Alfama or Bairro Alto can take as long as the drive from the airport. Your fare stays fixed.
LIS Terminal 1 and Terminal 2: where you are met
| From LIS to Avenida da Liberdade | Business Sedan | Business SUV | First Class Sedan | First Class SUV | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| One way | US$90 | US$120 | US$160 | US$145 | US$235 |
| Round trip | US$175 | US$230 | US$305 | US$280 | US$450 |
Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport has two terminals. Terminal 1 is the main building, open around the clock, used by TAP Air Portugal, the transatlantic flights from North America and most network airlines. Terminal 2 is a smaller building on the other side of the airfield used by several low-cost carriers; it closes overnight, and a free shuttle bus links it with Terminal 1. The flight number tells the chauffeur which terminal to go to.
Transatlantic flights from the United States, Canada and Brazil arrive mostly in the morning, and the non-Schengen passport control at Terminal 1 can be slow when several land together. The chauffeur follows the tracked landing and waits in arrivals with a name board; waiting after a tracked landing is complimentary. For travellers going on to other European cities, Lisbon is often the Schengen entry point, which makes onward arrivals in Madrid, Barcelona or Seville quicker. Book a Lisbon airport transfer for the fixed fare, and read meet and greet for how the meeting works inside the terminal.
Metro, taxi, rideshare or a pre-booked chauffeur
Lisbon is a city where public transport to the airport is genuinely convenient. The Aeroporto station on the Red line of the Lisbon Metro is next to the arrivals area of Terminal 1, as Metropolitano de Lisboa explains, and connects with the Green, Blue and Yellow lines in the city. Licensed taxis queue outside arrivals and run on the meter, and rideshare cars, licensed in Portugal as TVDE vehicles, pick up at their designated area.
| Option | Price | Time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metro Red line | Metro fare, per person | Train plus a change for most hotels, then the hills on foot | Solo travellers with light bags |
| Lisbon taxi | Metered | Same roads as any car | Short trips, spontaneous travel |
| Rideshare (TVDE) | Varies with demand | Pickup at the designated zone | Light travellers comfortable with apps |
| Elly8.net business sedan | US$90 fixed, per vehicle | Door to door, about 17 min on a clear road | Families, groups, late arrivals, executives, fixed budgets |
Fairly put: one traveller with a carry-on staying near a metro station does well on the Red line, and a taxi from the rank is a short, reasonable ride for two people with normal bags. The chauffeur makes sense when the queue is long after the morning transatlantic wave, when the hotel is up a hill in Alfama or Príncipe Real with no metro nearby, when you need child seats or room for large cases, when you land after the metro closes, or when Web Summit week drives up demand for every car in the city. Hotel districts, offices and the waterfront
Avenida da Liberdade and Marquês de Pombal. Lisbon's widest avenue, with service roads on both sides, makes hotel arrivals straightforward. It is also where many corporate offices and law firms sit, alongside the Saldanha business district just north.
Chiado, Baixa and Bairro Alto. The grid of the Baixa is flat and partly pedestrian; Chiado and Bairro Alto climb steeply above it, with narrow streets, tram tracks and restricted access. The chauffeur drops you at the nearest permitted point and agrees the pickup spot with you.
Alfama and the castle. The oldest quarter has lanes too narrow for any car. Hotels here are reached on foot from the nearest road; tell the desk the hotel name so the closest drop-off is planned, and mention anyone with limited mobility.
Parque das Nações. The former Expo 98 site on the river, in the north-east near the airport, holds modern offices, riverside hotels, the MEO Arena and the FIL exhibition centre. It is about 10 km (6 mi) from Avenida da Liberdade and about 5 km (3 mi) from the airport.
Belém and the river. About 8 km (5 mi) west of the centre, Belém has the Jerónimos Monastery, the Belém Tower and the riverside museums. A stop here fits naturally on the way to Cascais.
The cruise terminal. Ships berth at the Lisbon Cruise Terminal on the riverfront at Santa Apolónia, close to Alfama and the Baixa. Give the desk your ship and the chauffeur meets you at the terminal. See cruise port transfers.
In the city, the private city highlights tour costs from US$340 in a business sedan to US$680 in a Sprinter: the viewpoints over Alfama, Belém, the Baixa and the castle hill, with stops where you choose. The Lisbon tourism board lists opening times. See private city tours.
Web Summit and Lisbon's event calendar
Web Summit 2026, 9 to 12 November 2026, is Lisbon's biggest business week, as published on the Web Summit site. The opening night is at the MEO Arena, followed by conference days in the halls of FIL, the Feira Internacional de Lisboa next door in Parque das Nações. Tens of thousands of attendees, investors and speakers move between central hotels and the venue at the same hours every day, and the taxi and rideshare queues outside at the end of each day are long.
For Web Summit, the usual plan is a car by the hour: US$85 an hour in a business sedan, US$110 in a business SUV and US$170 in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum. The chauffeur drops you at the venue in the morning, collects you for meetings in town and brings you back for the evening events. Teams book an Executive Sprinter so everyone moves together. Investor and partner meetings across the week work well as a corporate roadshow day, from US$765 in a business sedan to US$1,530 in a Sprinter. See conference and trade show transportation and investor roadshows.
NOS Alive, 8 to 10 July 2027, the summer music festival on the riverside at Passeio Marítimo de Algés, west of Belém, fills the coast road toward Cascais on festival nights (NOS Alive). The MEO Arena also hosts concerts year-round. The evening out and event night package, from US$425 in a business sedan to US$850 in a Sprinter, covers dinner, the show and the ride back. See concert and festival transportation and event transportation.
Sintra and Cascais: the signature day
The signature Lisbon day trip is an 8-hour private day to Sintra and Cascais. It costs from US$630 in a business sedan, US$810 in a business SUV, US$1,035 in a First Class Sedan, US$960 in a First Class SUV and US$1,255 in an Executive Sprinter, all-in.
Sintra is about 33 km (20 mi) north-west, roughly half an hour on a clear road. Its palaces and gardens sit in the hills above the town: the Pena Palace, the Moorish Castle, the Quinta da Regaleira and Monserrate. Access is restricted. According to Parques de Sintra, private vehicles are not authorised to drive up to the Pena Palace, and visitors walk the trails or use public transport for the climb. The chauffeur takes you to the permitted drop-off point in Sintra and collects you when you come down. Most monuments sell timed tickets, so buy them before the day and plan the car around them.
Cascais is about 31 km (19 mi) west of the centre, around 25 minutes on a clear road along the motorway, or longer and more scenic on the Marginal coast road past Estoril. The day usually continues from Sintra to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, then down to Cascais for lunch by the bay and a walk through the old town, with a stop at Belém on the way back. The Cascais tourism office covers the town and beaches.
Other full days, from US$630 in a business sedan to US$1,255 in a Sprinter, include the Setúbal peninsula and the Arrábida coast, Óbidos, or wine estates south of the Tagus; see wine tours. The chauffeur drives, so everyone else can enjoy the tastings; the chauffeur follows local rules in the vehicle itself.
Porto is a separate trip, about 315 km (195 mi) north by road. We cover it on its own Porto car service page, and a one-way drive can be quoted through city to city car service.
Corporate travel, weddings and groups
Lisbon's corporate travel has grown with its technology sector, shared-service centres and the conference calendar in Parque das Nações. A corporate account gives your company fixed fares at LIS, roadshow days, monthly invoicing and NDAs on request. Read corporate car service for how the desk handles account travel across our cities.
Destination weddings in Lisbon, Sintra and the quintas outside the city use a First Class Sedan for the couple and an Executive Sprinter with driver for guests; see wedding transportation. Planners book on account through travel agent accounts, and hotels through hotel accounts.
Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, seven for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley. The fleet page shows seats and luggage by class.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a car service from Lisbon airport to the city centre?
A fixed Elly8.net transfer from LIS to Avenida da Liberdade costs from US$90 in a business sedan, US$120 in a business SUV, US$160 in a First Class Sedan and US$235 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle. It includes the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. Tolls and parking are billed at cost.
Which terminal will I land at?
Flights from North America, TAP Air Portugal and most network airlines use Terminal 1. Terminal 2 serves several low-cost carriers and is linked to Terminal 1 by a free shuttle. The chauffeur checks your terminal from your flight number and waits in that arrivals hall with a name board.
Is the metro a good alternative?
For one traveller with light luggage, yes. The Red line's Aeroporto station is next to Terminal 1 arrivals and connects with the rest of the network. For families, large cases, hilltop hotels in Alfama or Bairro Alto, or arrivals after the metro closes, a fixed US$90 car door to door is simpler.
What if my flight is late or immigration is slow?
The chauffeur follows the tracked landing time, and waiting after a tracked landing is complimentary, which covers non-Schengen passport control at Terminal 1 when several transatlantic flights land together. If your flight is cancelled or diverted, contact the 24/7 desk and we move the booking.
Can I book a car for Web Summit?
Yes. Web Summit runs from 9 to 12 November 2026 at the MEO Arena and FIL in Parque das Nações. An hourly car from US$85 an hour, with a 3-hour minimum, takes you to the venue, meetings in town and evening events. Book early; demand for cars peaks that week.
Can the chauffeur drive us up to the Pena Palace in Sintra?
No. Private vehicles are not authorised to drive up to the Pena Palace. The chauffeur takes you to the permitted drop-off in Sintra, and you walk the trails or use public transport for the climb. The 8-hour Sintra and Cascais day starts from US$630 in a business sedan.
Are child seats available?
Yes. Ask for child or booster seats when you book and give the children's ages; the partner fits them before pickup. A Business SUV or Executive Sprinter gives a family room for seats, a stroller and transatlantic luggage in one vehicle.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less a 10% fee applies, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show. Refunds return to the original card.
