A Geneva airport transfer booked through Elly8.net is a private chauffeur and vehicle at a fixed, all-in price, agreed before you fly and charged to your card in US dollars. Geneva Airport (GVA) to the lakefront costs from US$125 in a business sedan to US$325 in an Executive Sprinter, and the same desk books cars for meetings at the Palais des Nations, fair days at Palexpo, and the drive to the Alps at Chamonix, Verbier and Courchevel.
Rides in Geneva are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Geneva is a small city with a big international calendar, an airport that straddles a national border, and some of Europe's best-known ski resorts within two or three hours' drive. This page explains the airport's Swiss and French sides, compares the car with the train and the airport taxi fares, and covers the international district, events, the mountains and corporate travel.
How much is a car from Geneva Airport to the city?
A fixed Elly8.net transfer from Geneva Airport (GVA) to the lakefront costs from US$125 in a business sedan, US$165 in a business SUV, US$200 in a First Class SUV and US$325 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle. It includes the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. Tolls and parking are billed at cost.
The road distance is about 10 km (6 mi) and the drive takes about 27 minutes on a clear road, and weekday rush hours can stretch it. The fare is fixed. A First Class Sedan costs US$220. A round trip, booked together so the departure is settled before you land, costs from US$240 in a business sedan to US$620 in a Sprinter.
| Route | Distance | Clear-road drive | Business sedan | Business SUV | Executive Sprinter |

Geneva Airport: the Swiss side and the French Sector
GVA sits on the border with France, and it has a feature most airports do not: a France Sector. According to Genève Aéroport, it gives passengers dedicated access to travel between France and Switzerland or to reach nearby French towns. Passengers arriving on a flight from France arrive directly in the France Sector and can leave either to France or to Switzerland. Passengers arriving on an international flight collect their luggage, go through Swiss customs, go up to the check-in level and follow the France Sector signs.
For security reasons set by the French and Swiss authorities, only passengers holding a flight ticket for the same day, plus or minus one day, may move between the France Sector and the international sector. Anyone without one must change sides by road, through the Ferney-Voltaire customs post; the airport notes that it is not possible to cross on foot or by bicycle.
What this means for your booking: tell us when you book whether you will leave the airport on the Swiss side or the French side. Most guests heading into Geneva, Lausanne or Verbier are met on the Swiss side; guests heading to Chamonix, Megève or Courchevel sometimes prefer the French side. The desk sets the meeting point accordingly, the chauffeur tracks your flight and waits with a name board, and waiting after a tracked landing is complimentary. If a connection is missed, message the 24/7 desk and the pickup moves. See airport transfers and meet and greet. For private flights, give us the operator and tail number; see private jet and FBO transfers.
Train, taxi, ride-hailing or a pre-booked chauffeur
The train is excellent. Genève Aéroport's railway station is directly beneath the terminal, the trip to the city centre takes 7 minutes with up to seven trains an hour at peak times, and all trains stop at Genève-Cornavin, the main station. A unireso zone 10 ticket for the journey costs CHF 3. Direct trains also run to Lausanne, Montreux and beyond.
Geneva's taxis charge flat fares from the airport. According to the airport's taxi page, official taxis wait at the rank outside the arrivals level, and the fares are CHF 25 for the area close to the airport, CHF 35 to the international organisations, CHF 50 to the city centre on the right bank and CHF 60 to the city centre on the left bank. Taxi and private hire services are regulated by cantonal law.
| Option | Price | Time to the centre | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Train to Genève-Cornavin | CHF 3, unireso zone 10 | 7 min, up to 7 trains an hour at peak | One or two travellers, light bags, hotels near Cornavin |
| Taxi flat fare | CHF 35 to the UN district, CHF 50-60 to the centre | about 27 min plus traffic | A quick trip within the city |
| Ride-hailing app | Dynamic, changes with demand | Pickup wait plus drive | Off-peak trips, where the app operates |
| Elly8.net business sedan | From US$125 per vehicle, fixed | about 27 min, door to door | Families, groups, ski luggage, onward trips, fixed budgets |
The honest view: for one or two travellers with carry-ons going to a hotel near Cornavin, the train is quicker and far cheaper than any car. For a quick ride to a hotel in town, the flat-fare taxi is a fair price.
A pre-booked chauffeur wins in other cases: a family with suitcases and child seats, a delegation going straight to a meeting, guests leaving on the French side, and above all anyone continuing to the mountains with skis and boot bags, where a taxi is not the answer. An Executive Sprinter at US$325 in the city, or for the mountains through the web booker, carries a group of six with luggage. See chauffeur vs taxi, chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft and chauffeur vs airport shuttle.
International Geneva: the UN and diplomatic travel
Geneva hosts the United Nations Office at Geneva at the Palais des Nations, along with many international organisations and permanent missions. The Palais is about 6 km (4 mi) from the airport, about 9 minutes on a clear road, and the taxi flat fare to the international organisations is CHF 35.
The diplomatic calendar drives demand. The UN Human Rights Council holds three regular sessions a year, the World Health Assembly meets in Geneva, usually in May, and the International Labour Conference meets in June; committees such as the CEDAW session at the Palais des Nations in October 2026 run through the year. Exact dates for the next sessions are published by the organisations themselves. During the busy weeks, delegations book hourly cars and transfers well ahead.
We provide the car and chauffeur; access to the Palais, accreditation and any security arrangements are matters for the organisations, the missions and the authorities, and we make no security claims. For delegations, the hourly service costs US$100 an hour in a business sedan to US$200 in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum, and the corporate roadshow day costs from US$900 in a business sedan to US$1,800 in a Sprinter. NDAs are available on request. See government and diplomatic transportation and hourly chauffeur.
Palexpo, Watches and Wonders and the motor show question
Palexpo, Geneva's exhibition centre, is a stone's throw from the airport and, by its own description, 10 minutes from downtown. The biggest event on its 2027 schedule for international visitors is Watches and Wonders Geneva, from 5 to 11 April 2027, which brings watch houses, retailers, collectors and press to the city at once. Hotels fill early, and cars that wait at the halls are worth booking as soon as your dates are set.
Travellers often ask about the Geneva International Motor Show. We checked rather than assumed: Palexpo's published event schedule for 2027 does not include it. The car event listed is autoXpérience Genève, from 4 to 7 March 2027, which Palexpo describes as a regional event offering the public an immersive experience in the world of new vehicles. If a larger motor show is announced, we will book cars for it in the same way. See event transportation and conference transportation.
Where to stay: the lakefront, the Old Town and the right bank
The lakefront. Our reference point for fares. The grand hotels of the right bank face the lake and the Jet d'Eau along the Quai du Mont-Blanc, close to Cornavin station and the Pâquis district.
The left bank and the Old Town. The financial and shopping streets around the Rue du Rhône, and the Old Town on the hill above, with the cathedral and narrow streets where a car drops you at the nearest corner.
The international district. The Palais des Nations, the international organisations and the permanent missions, between the city and the airport, with hotels serving delegations.
Cologny and the lake shore. Residential villages along the southern shore with views back across the lake.
The private city highlights tour, from US$400 in a business sedan to US$800 in an Executive Sprinter, covers the lakefront and the Jet d'Eau, the Old Town, the international district and Carouge. Watch collectors often add the Patek Philippe Museum, which houses a watch collection spanning more than 500 years. See private city tours and the Geneva tourism site.
Ski transfers: Chamonix, Verbier, Megève and Courchevel
Geneva is the gateway airport for the western Alps, and winter weekends at GVA are dominated by ski luggage.
Chamonix. About 90 km (56 mi) from GVA, about 1 hour 16 minutes on a clear road, in France. Chamonix-Mont-Blanc is the town beneath Mont Blanc, home of the Aiguille du Midi cable car to 3,842 metres. The signature day trip covers it in eight hours, from US$740 in a business sedan, US$920 in a business SUV, US$1,180 in a First Class Sedan and US$1,105 in a First Class SUV to US$1,475 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle; cable car tickets are bought separately. One-way ski transfers to Chamonix are quoted on the web booker.
Verbier. About 162 km (101 mi) from GVA, roughly 2 hours on a clear road, in the Swiss canton of Valais. Verbier is part of the 4 Vallées ski area, with skiing in winter and hiking and mountain biking in summer. Quote the transfer on the web booker.
Megève. About 78 km (48 mi) from GVA, about 1 hour 15 minutes on a clear road, a village resort in Haute-Savoie. Quote the transfer on the web booker.
Courchevel. About 148 km (92 mi) from GVA in Les 3 Vallées, about 2 hours 34 minutes on a clear road, with fixed transfers from US$525 in a business sedan to US$1,365 in an Executive Sprinter; see Courchevel transfers.
Snow, Saturday changeover traffic in the valleys and border crossings can all add time on these routes, and the fare is fixed regardless. Any motorway tolls on the French side are billed at cost. Tell us how many ski and boot bags you are bringing, and whether you will leave GVA on the Swiss or French side. Book the return with the outbound so the car is already assigned when the weather turns. See group transportation and Sprinter van with driver.
Lake Geneva, Montreux and Lavaux
The Montreux Jazz Festival holds its 61st edition from 2 to 17 July 2027 on the shore of Lake Geneva. Montreux is about 93 km (58 mi) from GVA, about 1 hour 8 minutes on a clear road, and festival nights mean late returns along the lake; the evening out and event night package costs from US$500 in a business sedan to US$1,000 in a Sprinter, and longer nights use the hourly service. See concert transportation.
Between Lausanne and Montreux, the Lavaux vineyard terraces are a UNESCO World Heritage site, and a day of tastings works well with a chauffeur; Lausanne is about 64 km (40 mi) from central Geneva. The full-day chauffeur costs from US$740 in a business sedan to US$1,475 in a Sprinter. See wine tours. The chauffeur follows local rules on everything inside the vehicle.
Corporate travel and roadshows
Geneva combines private banking, commodity trading, watchmaking and the international organisations, and visiting teams usually need a car that waits between meetings. The corporate roadshow day costs from US$900 in a business sedan, US$1,125 in a business SUV and US$1,440 in a First Class Sedan to US$1,800 in an Executive Sprinter. See roadshow chauffeur and corporate car service.
A corporate account gives fixed fares, monthly invoicing, one booking contact for many travellers and NDAs on request. Hotels, chalet operators and travel agents book guests on account through hotel accounts and travel agent accounts. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, seven for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley, all from licensed, commercially insured operators; see the fleet.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a transfer from Geneva Airport to the city centre?
A fixed Elly8.net transfer from GVA to the lakefront costs from US$125 in a business sedan, US$165 in a business SUV, US$220 in a First Class Sedan and US$325 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle. It includes the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. Tolls and parking are billed at cost.
How does the French Sector at Geneva Airport work?
Passengers on flights from France arrive directly in the France Sector and can leave to France or Switzerland. International arrivals clear Swiss customs, go up to check-in and follow the France Sector signs. Only ticketed passengers may move between sectors, so tell us which side you will exit and the chauffeur meets you there.
Is the train faster than a car from GVA?
To Genève-Cornavin, yes: the train takes 7 minutes and a zone 10 ticket costs CHF 3, while the drive is about 27 minutes on a clear road. A car wins for families, groups, ski luggage, the French side and anyone going on to Chamonix, Verbier or Courchevel.
How long is the drive from Geneva to Chamonix?
About 90 km (56 mi) and about 1 hour 16 minutes on a clear road. Snow and weekend ski traffic can add time, and the fare is fixed regardless. The eight-hour Chamonix and Mont Blanc day trip costs from US$740 in a business sedan to US$1,475 in an Executive Sprinter.
Is the Geneva International Motor Show still held in Geneva?
It does not appear on Palexpo's published 2027 schedule. The car event listed for Palexpo in 2027 is autoXpérience Genève, from 4 to 7 March 2027, a regional new-vehicle show. The biggest international fair on the 2027 schedule is Watches and Wonders Geneva, from 5 to 11 April.
Can you drive delegations to the Palais des Nations?
Yes. The Palais is about 6 km (4 mi) from the airport. Delegations book transfers, hourly cars and the corporate roadshow day, with NDAs on request. Access, accreditation and security arrangements are handled by the organisations, missions and authorities, not by the chauffeur.
Are child seats available?
Yes. Ask for child or booster seats when you book and give the children's ages, and the partner fits them before pickup. For a ski family with suitcases and equipment, an SUV or Sprinter is the simplest way to the mountains.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup. A 10% fee applies at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show. Refunds go to the original card used for the booking.
