A San Francisco car service from Elly8.net is a pre-booked sedan, SUV or Sprinter with a fixed, all-in price you see before you pay. From SFO to Union Square the fare runs from US$180 in a Business Sedan to US$470 in an Executive Sprinter, and it already includes the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet inside arrivals.
The same desk books Oakland and San Jose arrivals, hourly cars for meeting days, Moscone convention transfers, game nights at Chase Center and Oracle Park, and the classic wine country day out of the city. Rides in San Francisco are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
How much is a car service from SFO to downtown San Francisco?
A pre-booked Elly8.net car from SFO to Union Square costs from US$180 in a Business Sedan, US$235 in a Business SUV and up to US$470 in an Executive Sprinter for groups. The price is fixed and all-in: chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet are included, with tolls and parking billed at cost.
SFO sits about 15 miles (24 km) south of Union Square, roughly 24 minutes on a clear road. On a weekday evening, or when US-101 northbound backs up toward the city, the same run can take 45 minutes or more, which is exactly when a fixed price matters: the fare does not move with traffic or demand.
If you are flying in for a week of meetings, the SFO round trip to Union Square is priced from US$345 in a Business Sedan to US$895 in an Executive Sprinter. Corporate travellers often pair the airport legs with an hourly car on the middle days, which is covered further down this page.
The three Bay Area airports, side by side
San Francisco is served by three commercial airports, and the right one depends on your airline and where you are staying. All three are on the Elly8.net price list for Union Square.
| Airport | Distance to Union Square | Clear-road drive | Business Sedan | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| San Francisco International (SFO) | 15 mi (24 km) | about 24 min | US$180 | US$470 |
| Oakland San Francisco Bay (OAK) | 20 mi (32 km) | about 32 min | US$215 | US$560 |
| Mineta San Jose International (SJC) | 46 mi (75 km) | about 59 min | US$340 | US$885 |
SFO: where your chauffeur meets you
SFO has three domestic terminals (1, 2 and 3) and the International Terminal with its A and G gates. Your chauffeur tracks the flight, so an early or late landing does not cost you anything, and complimentary waiting starts after a tracked landing rather than at the scheduled time.
For meet and greet, the chauffeur waits inside with a name board. SFO's official meeting points include the signed Meeting Point at the US Customs and Immigration exit in the International Terminal arrivals lobby, and meeting areas near the gate exits and baggage carousels in the domestic terminals. Because vehicles are not allowed to wait at the curb, the chauffeur walks you to the car once you have your bags. Read more on how airport meet and greet works across the network.
Oakland: often the quicker landing for the East Bay
Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport is about 20 miles (32 km) from Union Square, around 32 minutes on a clear road, but the Bay Bridge is the variable. OAK to Union Square runs from US$215 in a Business Sedan to US$560 in an Executive Sprinter, and the round trip from US$410. If your meetings are in Oakland, Emeryville or Berkeley, book the car to that address in the web booker instead; it is usually a shorter trip.
San Jose: for Silicon Valley-first itineraries
SJC is about 46 miles (75 km) from Union Square, roughly an hour on a clear road and much longer at the evening peak on US-101. The fare is from US$340 in a Business Sedan. Many travellers who land at SJC start in the valley instead; our San Jose and Silicon Valley car service page has fixed prices from SJC to Mountain View.
Taxi, rideshare, BART or a pre-booked car: an honest comparison
Every option below gets you from SFO to downtown. Which one is right depends on how many of you there are, how much luggage you have and how much the arrival time matters.
| Option | Typical price, SFO to Union Square | Time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| BART from SFO station | US$11.80 adult fare to Powell or Montgomery | about 30 min ride plus walk | One traveller, light bag, hotel near Market Street |
| Metered taxi | about US$52 on distance, plus US$6 SFO pick-up fee, traffic minutes and tip | 25-50 min | Short notice, two travellers |
| Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) | varies with demand; surge at peaks | 25-50 min plus walk to the garage | Flexible plans, off-peak arrivals |
| Elly8.net Business Sedan | US$180 fixed, all-in | 25-50 min, door to door | Late flights, meetings, guaranteed pickup |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | US$470 fixed, all-in | 25-50 min, door to door | Groups and families with bags |
BART. The SFO BART station is on the Departures/Ticketing level of the International Terminal, and AirTrain connects it to every terminal free of charge. The adult fare to Powell Street or Montgomery Street is US$11.80 according to BART's official fare data. For a solo traveller with a carry-on staying near Union Square, BART is genuinely good value and we would not argue otherwise.
Taxi. San Francisco taxis run on a regulated meter: US$4.15 for the first fifth of a mile, US$0.65 for each additional fifth of a mile and US$0.65 per minute of waiting or traffic delay, plus a US$6 SFO pick-up fee, per the SFMTA taxi fare schedule. On distance alone a 15-mile run comes to about US$52; add the airport fee, slow-traffic minutes and a tip and it climbs. Taxis suit two people with modest luggage at short notice.
Rideshare. At SFO, app rides for the domestic terminals pick up on Level 5 of the Domestic Garage, and at the International Terminal on the Departures/Ticketing level centre island, zones 12 to 17, according to SFO's ride-app guidance. Prices follow demand, so a Friday-evening arrival or a big convention week can cost far more than a quiet Tuesday. Our Uber Black vs a pre-booked chauffeur guide covers the trade-offs in more detail.
A pre-booked chauffeur wins when the arrival is late, when you are three or four people with checked bags, when you need child seats, when someone is meeting a client within an hour of landing, or when an expense policy wants a known number in advance. You also skip the garage walk: the chauffeur meets you inside.
Downtown, hotels and the neighbourhoods we drive every day
Most visitors stay in a compact triangle between Union Square, the Financial District and Nob Hill, with a second cluster along the Embarcadero and in SoMa near the convention centre. Hotel driveways around Union Square are tight and several streets are one-way, so the chauffeur confirms the exact door when the pickup is set.
The Financial District empties quickly after 6 p.m. but the morning peak is heavy on the Market Street approaches. If your first meeting is at 8:30 a.m. on Montgomery or California Street, allow 15 minutes for the last few blocks. Mission Bay, home to biotech campuses and Chase Center, is an easy hop by car and an awkward one by transit late at night.
For leisure days, the private city tour by chauffeured car is priced from US$400 in a Business Sedan to US$800 in an Executive Sprinter. A typical loop takes in the Golden Gate Bridge viewpoints, the Presidio, the Painted Ladies at Alamo Square, Twin Peaks and Fisherman's Wharf without anyone hunting for parking.
Moscone Center, Dreamforce and convention weeks
Moscone Center in SoMa hosts the city's largest conferences, and it is the single biggest driver of car demand in San Francisco. Dreamforce returns to San Francisco on September 21 to 23, 2027; during that week hotel rates, street closures around the convention halls and rideshare surge all peak together. The Moscone Center events calendar lists the other shows that fill the area through the year.
For convention weeks we recommend booking as soon as you have dates. A pre-booked car gets a confirmed pickup point near your hall, and an hourly booking keeps the same chauffeur on standby between sessions, dinners and the airport. See conference and trade show transportation for how we handle exhibitor teams and multi-car schedules.
Hourly service in San Francisco runs from US$100 per hour in a Business Sedan to US$200 per hour in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum, booked through our hourly chauffeur service. A full-day chauffeur is priced from US$740 in a Business Sedan to US$1,475 in an Executive Sprinter.
Game nights and big shows: Chase Center and Oracle Park
Chase Center in Mission Bay is home to the Golden State Warriors and hosts nearly 200 events a year, from basketball to arena concerts. Oracle Park, the Giants' home on the waterfront since 2000, sits a short walk north across Mission Creek. When both have events on the same night the streets between them slow to walking pace.
Our evening out and event night package runs from US$500 in a Business Sedan to US$1,000 in an Executive Sprinter. The chauffeur drops you at the closest legal point, then stages nearby and meets you at an agreed corner after the final whistle or encore, which is much easier than queuing for a ride with thousands of other fans. Details are on our sports event transportation page.
Corporate travel and investor roadshows
San Francisco and the Peninsula are roadshow country: a morning in the Financial District, lunch in SoMa, then Sand Hill Road or Palo Alto in the afternoon. The corporate roadshow day is priced from US$900 in a Business Sedan to US$1,800 in an Executive Sprinter, with one chauffeur and one vehicle for the whole programme.
Companies that book regularly can open a corporate account with monthly invoicing, traveller profiles and NDAs on request. Our corporate car service and investor roadshow chauffeur pages explain how assistants book multi-stop days in one reservation.
Napa Valley: the signature day trip from San Francisco
The day trip to Napa Valley wine country is the most natural long booking from a San Francisco hotel. It is priced as a 10-hour day from US$920 in a Business Sedan to US$1,840 in an Executive Sprinter, collecting you at your hotel in the morning and bringing you back in the evening. Bridge tolls on the route are billed at cost.
The drive takes well over an hour each way depending on traffic, so a chauffeur gives you the whole day for tastings rather than navigation. Napa's visitor bureau advises booking tasting appointments well in advance, so make your reservations first and send us the list; the chauffeur builds the route around them. If you want to stay overnight, our Napa Valley car service page covers local transfers and Sonoma, and the wine country tours page explains how multi-winery days work. The chauffeur follows local rules on alcohol, and there is no drinking in the vehicle.
Weddings, proms and nights out
City Hall weddings, Presidio venues and hotel ballrooms on Nob Hill all generate early-morning hair-and-make-up runs and late departures. A Business SUV or First Class Sedan for the couple and an Executive Sprinter for the wedding party is a common combination. See wedding limousine and guest shuttles for how we coordinate several vehicles on one timeline.
For anniversaries and birthdays, the evening out package covers dinner in North Beach or Hayes Valley and a show, with the chauffeur waiting between stops.
How booking works
Booking an Elly8.net car in San Francisco takes three steps.
- Enter the pickup and drop-off. For airport pickups add the flight number so the chauffeur can track it. A hotel name or street address is fine for city pickups.

- Reserve now, or use the web booker. Fixed-price routes check out directly with Reserve now. For any address not on the price list, the Elly8.net web booker under the hero quotes the trip. Confirmation arrives by email.
Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer. Child seats are available on request. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; 72 hours or less is 10%, 48 hours or less is 50%, and 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100%, refunded to the original card. Frequently asked questions
How much is a black car from SFO to downtown San Francisco?
An Elly8.net Business Sedan from SFO to Union Square is US$180, a Business SUV US$235, and an Executive Sprinter for a group with bags US$470. These are fixed, all-in prices covering the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. Addresses outside Union Square are quoted in the web booker.
Where will my chauffeur meet me at SFO?
Inside the terminal with a name board. At the International Terminal that is usually the signed Meeting Point at the Customs exit in the arrivals lobby; in the domestic terminals it is near the gate exits or baggage carousels. Vehicles cannot wait at the SFO curb, so the chauffeur walks you to the car once your bags are collected. You receive the chauffeur's contact details before landing.
What happens if my flight is late?
Every airport pickup is flight-tracked, so the chauffeur adjusts to the actual landing time rather than the schedule. Complimentary waiting starts after a tracked landing, which covers the walk from the gate and a normal wait at baggage claim. If you are held up at Customs for a long time, message the 24/7 desk and we keep the chauffeur informed.
Is BART or a taxi cheaper than a car service from SFO?
For one person with light luggage, yes. BART to Powell Street is US$11.80 and a taxi runs on the SFMTA meter plus a US$6 SFO pick-up fee. A pre-booked car makes more sense for groups, families with child seats, late arrivals, business travellers heading straight to a meeting, or anyone who wants a fixed price that does not change with traffic or surge pricing.
Can you provide child seats?
Yes. Child seats are available on request; add the ages and number of children in the booking notes so the chauffeur can install the right seats before pickup. For families with several children and bags, a Business SUV or Executive Sprinter gives noticeably more room than a sedan.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less the charge is 10%, at 48 hours or less it is 50%, and at 24 hours or less, or for a no-show, it is 100%. Refunds go back to the original card. Changes to times or addresses are usually possible if you contact the desk early.
Can you handle a group for a conference at Moscone Center?
Yes. Executive Sprinters carry teams with luggage, and we can book several vehicles on one schedule for arrivals, daily shuttles between hotels and Moscone, and evening events. For Dreamforce week in September 2027, book as soon as your dates are firm, because demand across the city peaks at the same time.
Do you offer corporate accounts in San Francisco?
Yes. Companies can open a corporate account with monthly invoicing, saved traveller profiles and NDAs on request. Assistants can book airport transfers, hourly cars and full roadshow days, and every ride shows its fixed price before confirmation. Travel agents and hotels can open their own accounts through our partners pages.
