A Budapest airport transfer booked through Elly8.net is a private chauffeur and vehicle at a fixed, all-in price, agreed before you fly and charged to your card in US dollars. Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport (BUD) to the Danube embankment in the city centre costs from US$115 in a business sedan to US$300 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle, with the chauffeur waiting in arrivals with your name.
Rides in Budapest are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Budapest is two cities facing each other across the Danube, and many of our guests arrive or leave by river: a cruise that ends on the embankment, a flight home the same morning, a family with a week of luggage. Summer adds the Formula 1 weekend and one of Europe's biggest music festivals. This page covers the airport, the river, the events, the Danube Bend, and when the airport bus is the better choice.

Budapest Airport has two passenger terminals, Terminal 2A and Terminal 2B. Give us your flight number when you book: the chauffeur tracks the landing and waits in the arrivals hall with a name board, and complimentary waiting after a tracked landing covers a long passport queue or a delayed bag. If a connection through Frankfurt, Munich, Amsterdam or Vienna slips, the 24/7 desk moves the pickup. Read more on Budapest airport transfers and meet and greet.
For private and business aviation, give us the tail number or the handling agent, and the chauffeur meets you as the handler directs; see private jet and FBO transfers.
River cruises: the Danube embankment and the cruise berths
Budapest is one of the great ports of call on the Danube, and its riverbanks are part of the UNESCO World Heritage site that also includes the Buda Castle Quarter and Andrássy Avenue. River cruise ships tie up along the embankments in the city centre, and the berth depends on the ship and the day.
For a cruise transfer, give us the ship name, the cruise line and the berth shown in your cruise documents, plus the time you expect to leave the ship. The chauffeur meets you at the agreed point on the embankment with a name board and loads the luggage, then drives you to the airport, a hotel or straight on to Vienna. On embarkation day the order is reversed: hotel or airport pickup, and the drop-off as close to the gangway as the embankment allows. Disembarkation mornings are busy, with several ships emptying at once, which is when a pre-booked car is worth most. See cruise port transfers.
Many cruises begin or end in another city. Budapest to Vienna is about 244 km (152 mi) by road, and the same desk runs Vienna airport transfers at the other end; see city to city car service.
Where you are staying: Pest, Buda and the Danube embankment
Pest riverside and the Inner City. The hotels along the Danube embankment, with views across to the Castle, and the streets behind them around Vörösmarty tér and Váci utca. Our airport fares are calculated to the Danube embankment.
Around Deák Ferenc tér. A key transport hub where three metro lines meet, close to the Gozsdu Courtyard, bars, restaurants and many of the newer hotels.
Andrássy Avenue and the City Park. The grand boulevard, part of the World Heritage site, and the City Park, home of the Széchenyi Thermal Bath.
Buda and the Castle District. Across the river, the hilltop Buda Castle quarter and the quieter residential streets of Buda. Hotels here are a short drive from the centre and quoted through the web booker.
The Hungarian Parliament Building on the Pest bank, the Castle and the baths are far enough apart that a car saves real time for anyone with limited days. The private city highlights tour, from US$340 in a business sedan to US$680 in an Executive Sprinter, links them with the chauffeur waiting at each stop. See private city tours.
The Hungarian Grand Prix and Sziget
| Event | Dates | Venue | Booking tip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix | 30 July to 1 August 2027 | Hungaroring, Mogyoród | Book race-day cars early; leave very early |
| Sziget Festival | 10 to 14 August 2027 | Óbuda Island, north Budapest | Drop-offs at the festival entrance |
Formula 1 at the Hungaroring. The Hungarian Grand Prix runs from 30 July to 1 August 2027, with practice on Friday, qualifying on Saturday and the race on Sunday. The Hungaroring is at Mogyoród, which Formula 1 describes as only 20 km from Budapest; we measure about 24 km (15 mi) and 32 minutes from the Danube embankment on a clear road. Race weekend is not a clear-road weekend. The motorway towards the circuit fills hours before the start and empties slowly after the flag, and hotels in the city are full.
The practical plan is a car for the whole day: leave the hotel early, with a drop-off at the circuit access point allowed for private vehicles, and a pickup at an agreed time and place after the race. The full-day chauffeur costs from US$630 in a business sedan to US$1,255 in an Executive Sprinter, and the corporate roadshow day, from US$765, suits hospitality guests moving between the circuit and city events. See sports event transportation.
Sziget Festival. Sziget returns to Óbuda Island from 10 to 14 August 2027. The island is reached by a single bridge, and cars drop at the festival entrance; book airport and hotel transfers for arrival and departure days. See concert and festival transportation.
Budapest car service by the hour costs US$85 an hour in a business sedan, US$110 in a business SUV, US$130 in a First Class SUV, US$140 in a First Class Sedan and US$170 in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum. The evening out and event night package, from US$425 in a business sedan to US$850 in a Sprinter, covers dinners, river views at night and late returns; the chauffeur follows local rules. See hourly chauffeur and event transportation.
Day trip: the Danube Bend, Szentendre and Visegrád
North of Budapest, where the river bends, the Danube Bend makes the classic day out: Szentendre close to the city, and further upriver Visegrád, about 42 km (26 mi) from the centre by road. The signature day trip is a 6-hour package, from US$470 in a business sedan, US$610 in a business SUV, US$720 in a First Class SUV and US$775 in a First Class Sedan to US$940 in an Executive Sprinter, with stops as you choose and lunch by the river.
Airport bus, taxi, rideshare or a chauffeur
| Option | Price | Time to the centre | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100E Airport Express bus | 2,500 HUF single, pay by bankcard on board | About 40 min to Deák Ferenc tér | Solo travellers with light bags |
| Licensed Budapest taxi | Official metered fare plus a HUF 2,100 airport base fare | Traffic dependent | One or two people, short notice |
| Uber | App price | Traffic dependent | Short notice |
| Elly8.net | From US$115 per vehicle, fixed | About 32 min, door to door | Families, groups, cruise passengers, late flights, fixed budgets |
The honest view: the 100E is excellent value. BKK, the city's transport authority, runs it around the clock between the airport and Deák Ferenc tér via Kálvin tér, about 40 minutes, for a 2,500 HUF single ticket bought with a bankcard on board, with room for suitcases. Budapest taxis are regulated: BKK explains that the official fare is calculated by the taximeter and is the same at all times of day and for all licensed operators, and that from August 2026 trips to and from the airport carry a HUF 2,100 airport base fare. Look for the yellow cars and yellow plates, and order through an app or by phone. Uber also operates in Budapest.
A pre-booked chauffeur wins when the fare is less important than the arrival: a family with children who need child seats, a group of four or more with luggage, where one Executive Sprinter at US$300 costs less per person than two taxis, a cruise disembarkation morning when every taxi on the embankment is taken, a race day, or a late flight when you want someone waiting with your name. See chauffeur vs taxi and chauffeur vs airport shuttle.
Corporate travel and groups
Companies bringing teams, incentive groups or clients to Budapest can open a corporate account with fixed fares for every traveller, monthly invoicing and NDAs on request. The corporate roadshow day, from US$765 in a business sedan to US$1,530 in an Executive Sprinter, keeps one chauffeur with you from the first meeting to the last. See corporate car service and group transportation. Hotels, cruise planners and travel agents book guests on account through hotel accounts and travel agent accounts.
Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, seven for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley, all from licensed, commercially insured operators. See the fleet.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a transfer from Budapest Airport to the city centre?
A fixed Elly8.net transfer from Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport to the Danube embankment costs from US$115 in a business sedan, US$150 in a business SUV and US$300 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle. It includes the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet; parking and extra waiting are billed at cost.
How long is the drive from BUD to the city centre?
About 32 minutes on a clear road for the 24 km (15 mi). Weekday rush hours, Formula 1 weekend and cruise disembarkation mornings can add time. The fare is fixed, so traffic changes the clock, not the price, and the desk plans departures with extra margin.
Can you pick us up from a Danube river cruise?
Yes. Give us the ship name, cruise line and berth from your cruise documents and the time you expect to disembark. The chauffeur meets you at the agreed point on the embankment with a name board, loads the luggage and drives you to the airport, a hotel or on to Vienna.
How do we get to the Hungaroring for the Grand Prix?
Book a full-day chauffeur, from US$630 in a business sedan, for 30 July to 1 August 2027. The circuit is about 24 km (15 mi) from the Danube embankment, but race-day traffic is heavy, so the chauffeur leaves early and meets you at an agreed point after the race.
Is a taxi from Budapest Airport expensive?
Licensed Budapest taxis charge the official metered fare, the same at all hours and for all licensed operators, plus a HUF 2,100 airport base fare since August 2026. For one or two people a taxi is a fair choice; for families and groups with luggage, a fixed-price vehicle is often simpler.
Are child seats available?
Yes. Ask for child or booster seats when you book and give the children's ages, and the partner fits them before pickup. A Business SUV or Executive Sprinter gives a family room for seats, strollers and luggage, and the chauffeur helps load everything at the kerb.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup. A 10% fee applies at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show. Refunds go to the original card used for the booking.
Can you drive us from Budapest to Vienna?
Yes. The drive is about 244 km (152 mi), quoted door to door through the web booker at a fixed price. It is a popular way to end a river cruise in Budapest and fly home from Vienna, with the luggage in the car the whole way.
