Sónar, the Barcelona festival that bills itself around music, innovation and creativity, has announced its 2027 edition for Thursday 17 to Saturday 19 June 2027, on the official Sónar site. The festival runs as several programmes at once: a daytime music programme, Sónar by Night, and Sónar+D, its strand of talks, panels, exhibitions and performances. The venues for 2027 have not been announced yet. In 2026 the programme included spaces at Fira Gran Via in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, the trade-fair halls between the city and the airport, alongside stages such as SonarClub, SonarVillage and SonarHall.
That pattern sets the transport problem. Sónar is not a downtown festival you can walk home from: its halls sit outside the centre, the night programme runs late, and the city's metro hours do not match the finish times on two of the three nights. Elly8.net books El Prat transfers, a chauffeur by the hour for day and night, and group Sprinters, at fixed, all-in prices that do not change for festival week. We set the pickup points as soon as Sónar confirms its 2027 venues.
How do you get to and from Sónar at night?
Pre-book a chauffeur by the hour or a set late pickup, and agree the meeting point by text before you go in. The Barcelona metro closes at midnight on Thursday and at 2 a.m. on Friday and runs all night on Saturday, according to TMB, so Thursday and Friday finishes are when a pre-booked car helps most.
The metro hours come from TMB: 05:00 to midnight Monday to Thursday, 05:00 to 02:00 on Friday, and continuous service through Saturday night into Sunday. For Sónar 2027 that means Thursday 17 June ends at midnight, Friday 18 June at 2 a.m., and Saturday 19 June has trains all night. Sant Joan's eve, when TMB also runs all night, falls on 23 June, after the festival.
On the nights the metro closes before the music does, the alternative is the taxi rank or a rideshare search outside a large hall at the same moment as everyone else. A pre-booked chauffeur waits at an agreed point a short walk from the exit, and the price is the same at 4 a.m. as at 4 p.m.

Fira Gran Via: where it is and how far
If the 2027 night programme returns to Fira Barcelona Gran Via, the geography is in its favour. The fairground sits in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, about 8 km (5 mi) from El Prat and 6 km (4 mi) from Passeig de Gràcia, which makes it closer to the airport than most city hotels are.
| Route | Distance | Clear-road drive | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| El Prat (BCN) to Passeig de Gràcia | 14 km (9 mi) | about 19 min | from US$105 business sedan |
| Passeig de Gràcia to Fira Gran Via | about 6 km (4 mi) | about 13 min | by the hour, from US$85 |
| El Prat (BCN) to Fira Gran Via | about 8 km (5 mi) | about 14 min | priced in the web booker |
Fira Gran Via is built for trade-show traffic, with wide approaches along the Gran Via, but closing time at any large event still means queues at the taxi ranks and a crowd at the entrances. On festival nights we set the pickup a short walk from the hall exit you will use and confirm it by text. If Sónar's 2027 programme uses different venues, we adapt the plan to them once they are published.
Arriving at El Prat
Flights from North America use Terminal 1 at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat; Terminal 2 handles mainly low-cost and short-haul carriers. Tell us your flight number and the chauffeur goes to the right terminal, tracks the landing and waits in arrivals with a name board, with complimentary waiting after a tracked landing.
The fare to Passeig de Gràcia and the central hotels is fixed per vehicle and all-in: US$105 in a business sedan, US$140 in a business SUV, US$170 in a First Class SUV, US$185 in a First Class sedan and US$275 in an Executive Sprinter. Round trips start at US$200 in a business sedan. Because Fira Gran Via lies between the airport and the city, an arrival on the Thursday afternoon can go straight to a Sónar+D session with bags in the car, then on to the hotel. The web booker prices that as a multi-stop trip. See airport transfers and meet and greet.
Departure day deserves the same care. Sónar ends on a Saturday night with the metro running all night, and many visitors fly home on Sunday 20 June, sometimes only a few hours after the last set. Book the Sunday airport run when you book the arrival: the car is confirmed, the pickup time is set for your flight with a margin for check-in, and nobody has to find a taxi with luggage on a Sunday morning. If you are flying out from Terminal 2, say so, because the two terminals are several kilometres apart.
Day, night and Sónar+D: three different bookings
Sónar+D and daytime sessions. Delegates, founders and creative-industry visitors attend talks, demos and meetings by day. A Full-day chauffeur (eight hours), from US$630 in a business sedan, covers a day of sessions, a lunch meeting in the city and the drive back, with the car on standby between them. This is the booking for anyone treating Sónar as a business trip; see conference and trade show transportation.
The daytime programme. Afternoon and early-evening sets are the easiest part of the festival to reach by public transport, and many visitors will not need a car. If you do, a few hours by the hour, with the 3-hour minimum, is enough.
Sónar by Night. This is where a chauffeur earns its price. The Evening out and event night package (five hours) covers dinner, the drop at the venue and an agreed return; for a later night, book by the hour or a one-way late pickup in the web booker so the car arrives when you want to leave, not when the package ends.
Festival-week prices
Barcelona hourly and package prices, per vehicle and all-in:
| Package | Business Sedan | Business SUV | First Class Sedan | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| By the hour, as directed (3-hour minimum) | US$85 per hour | US$110 per hour | US$140 per hour | US$170 per hour |
| Evening out & event night (5 hours) | US$425 | US$550 | US$700 | US$850 |
| Full-day chauffeur (8 hours) | US$630 | US$810 | US$1,035 | US$1,255 |
| Corporate roadshow day (10 hours) | US$765 | US$990 | US$1,260 | US$1,530 |
Prices include the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet; parking, tolls and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. They do not change for festival week. Mid-June is a busy period in Barcelona, and the Friday late pickups go first, so reserve as soon as you have passes. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup. For late-night planning in general, see concert and festival transportation.
Groups, labels and artists' teams
Friends who travel to Sónar together usually want to leave together. An Executive Sprinter seats up to 12 passengers and costs US$170 per hour in Barcelona, so a group that would otherwise need three or four taxis at 3 a.m. shares one vehicle and one meeting point. See group transportation and Sprinter van with driver.
Labels, agencies, brands and media teams working Sónar+D and the night programme need cars across all three days. A corporate account puts every ride on one monthly invoice with a reference per person, and travel agencies can book through travel-agent accounts. Touring and production crews moving equipment and people can read film and production transportation, and the desk can sign an NDA on request for artists and VIP guests. Elly8.net provides transportation, not security.
The honest alternatives
| Option | Cost | Best for | Weak point |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metro | Standard TMB fare | Saturday night, with all-night service | Closes at midnight on Thursday and 2 a.m. on Friday |
| Official taxi | Meter; from El Prat a €21 minimum and €4.60 airport supplement under the 2026 tariffs | One or two people, short notice | Rank queues at closing time |
| Rideshare | Set by the app | Off-peak trips | Demand spikes when the halls empty |
| Metro L9 Sud from El Prat | €5.90 Airport ticket | Solo arrivals with light bags | Changes to reach most hotels |
| Elly8.net chauffeur | From US$105 from El Prat; US$85 per hour | Groups, Thursday and Friday late finishes, business travellers | Book ahead |
The metro fares and the Airport ticket are published on TMB's fares page, and the taxi figures come from the Barcelona Metropolitan Area's official 2026 tariffs. On the Saturday, when the metro runs all night, one or two people staying near a station can manage without a car. On Thursday and Friday, for groups, and for anyone mixing Sónar+D meetings with nights out, a fixed-price chauffeur is the calmer choice. Compare on chauffeur vs taxi and Uber Black vs a pre-booked chauffeur.
Barcelona around the festival
Sónar's three days leave time either side. The Private city highlights tour runs from US$340 in a business sedan, and the Montserrat day trip (6 hours) from US$470 in a business sedan to US$940 in an Executive Sprinter, a good use of a recovery day. Everything is on the Barcelona car service page.
Many visitors continue to Ibiza for the summer season, or to Madrid, Nice or Monaco; Elly8.net covers each of them. For chauffeured transfers between cities, see city-to-city car service. Flights and hotels are booked through our travel partner BookingWorldwide.net; Elly8.net books the car.
How booking works
Rides in Barcelona are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
