MWC Barcelona 2027 runs from 1 to 4 March 2027 at Fira Barcelona Gran Via in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, and for four days the roads between El Prat airport, the hotel districts and the fairground carry a large share of the global telecoms and technology industry. A pre-booked Elly8.net car gives you a fixed, all-in price before you fly: El Prat to Passeig de Gracia from US$105 in a business sedan to US$275 in an Executive Sprinter, and a chauffeur by the hour from US$85.
Rides in Barcelona are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. This page is the ground-transport plan for MWC week: where the venue sits, what the organiser publishes about drop-offs, taxis and the free transport pass, and when a car on standby is worth more than the metro.
How do you get to MWC Barcelona from the airport and your hotel?
Fira Gran Via sits between El Prat airport and the city, about 10 km (6 mi) from the terminals and about 7 km (4 mi) from Passeig de Gracia. A pre-booked Elly8.net car meets you inside arrivals, then drops you at the organiser's private-car area on Carrer de Salvador Espriu, next to the MWC (South) Entrance.
MWC takes place on the south-west edge of Barcelona, in a fairground that faces the airport road rather than the old town. The organiser's venue page gives the address as Av. Joan Carles I, 64, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, and describes the site as just 10 km from Barcelona Airport. By road that is roughly 10 km (6 mi) and about 14 minutes on a clear road; from Passeig de Gracia, the centre we use for Barcelona prices, it is about 7 km (4 mi) and around 13 minutes.
MWC week is not clear-road week: every approach to the fairground fills at the same hours each morning and evening. The organiser itself tells visitors travelling by car to allow plenty of extra time because of road disruption from city transport works, according to its transportation page. Plan pickups with that in mind, and let the fixed price take care of the rest: the fare does not change with the traffic.
Who travels for MWC, and why the city fills up
MWC Barcelona is the GSMA's flagship event, and the organiser lists more than 105,000 attendees, over 2,900 exhibitors, sponsors and partners, more than 2,600 journalists and analysts, and visitors from 207 countries and territories. That mix shapes the ground transport. Chief executives fly in for one or two days of meetings. Sales and partner teams run a stand for all four days. Press and analysts move between keynotes, briefings and evening launches. Ministers and regulators attend the GSMA's government programme with delegations of their own.
Hotels across Barcelona fill for the week, so many delegates stay well away from the fairground, in the Eixample, around Placa de Catalunya or along the waterfront. On the busiest mornings a car already outside your hotel saves more time than any other choice.
The arrival: El Prat airport
Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat (BCN) has two terminals, T1 and T2, the second split into T2B and T2C; the airport operator Aena publishes the access options for each. Give us your flight number when you book; your chauffeur tracks the landing and waits inside the arrivals hall with a name board after you collect your bags, with complimentary waiting after a tracked landing for slow immigration or a late belt. Our airport transfers and meet and greet pages explain the process in detail.
The fixed fares on our Barcelona car service page run from El Prat to Passeig de Gracia: US$105 in a business sedan, US$140 in a business SUV, US$170 in a First Class SUV, US$185 in a First Class Sedan and US$275 in an Executive Sprinter. A round trip, arrival plus departure, is fixed from US$200 in a business sedan to US$525 in a Sprinter. Many exhibitors land and go straight to the fairground for build-up; that run, from BCN directly to Fira Gran Via, is priced through the web booker because it is not on the fixed list.
| Trip | Distance | Clear-road drive | Business sedan | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BCN to Passeig de Gracia | 14 km / 9 mi | about 19 min | from US$105 | US$275 |
| BCN round trip to Passeig de Gracia | 2 x 14 km | about 19 min each way | from US$200 | US$525 |
| Passeig de Gracia to Fira Gran Via | about 7 km / 4 mi | about 13 min | hourly, from US$85 an hour | hourly, US$170 an hour |
| BCN to Fira Gran Via | about 10 km / 6 mi | about 14 min | web booker | web booker |
Private flights use the business aviation facilities at El Prat. Send the tail number and handler with your booking and the car is staged before you land; see private jet and FBO transfers.
Getting into Fira Gran Via: the official arrangements
The organiser publishes clear access rules every year, and the chauffeur works to them. These are the arrangements listed on the MWC transportation page; check it again before you travel, because details can change.
- Private cars and buses. The drop-off and pick-up area for private cars and coaches is on Carrer de Salvador Espriu, near the MWC Entrance (South). This is where your Elly8.net chauffeur sets you down and collects you.
- Taxis. Staffed taxi ranks operate at the MWC Entrance (South) and at the 4YFN Entrance (North) on event days, from 09:00 to 20:00 Monday to Wednesday and 09:00 to 17:00 on Thursday, with a Sunday rank from 17:00 to 21:00.
- Metro and train. From the city centre, the organiser directs visitors to change to metro line L9 at Collblanc or Torrassa for Europa Fira station, or to take the FGC train from Placa Espanya to Europa/Fira. For the 4YFN Entrance, L10 to Foc or L9 to Fira.
- Free transport pass. Registered attendees can collect a free public transport pass at the airport (T1, T2B and T2C, just before exiting baggage reclaim), at the Fira Gran Via entrances or at the Placa Espanya FGC station, using the Digital Access Pass in the MWC app.
- Shuttles. An electric shuttle links Fira Gran Via with the Talent Arena at Fira Montjuic near Placa Espanya, and the GSMA runs complimentary hotel shuttles to the 4YFN Entrance from hotels with limited public transport access.
A car does not take you to your stand; it takes you to Salvador Espriu, and you walk in through the South Entrance. On busy evenings the chauffeur messages the exact pickup spot so you are not searching a crowded kerb.
The plan for MWC week
Arrival and build-up. Exhibitors often arrive on the weekend before the show, when the fairground is open for stand construction. A business SUV handles two travellers and their cases; an Executive Sprinter with driver takes a stand team with sample cases and display kit in one vehicle. Ask for child seats when booking if you bring the family for a weekend in Barcelona first.
Show days: hotel drop-off, then a car on standby. The pattern most executives follow is a morning drop at Salvador Espriu, a full day of stand meetings, and then an evening of dinners across the city. Book car service by the hour and the car is yours, as directed, with a 3-hour minimum: US$85 an hour in a business sedan, US$110 in a business SUV, US$130 in a First Class SUV, US$140 in a First Class Sedan and US$170 in an Executive Sprinter. When a meeting moves to a hotel suite on Diagonal or a partner's office in 22@, you leave the fairground without joining the taxi queue.
Full days and meeting schedules. If your day is a run of fixed appointments, the 8-hour full-day chauffeur is fixed from US$630 in a business sedan to US$1,255 in a Sprinter, and the 10-hour corporate roadshow day from US$765 in a business sedan to US$1,530 in a Sprinter. The roadshow package suits investor and analyst days, when one car follows a printed schedule from breakfast to the last dinner; see roadshow chauffeur, corporate car service and conference transportation.
Evenings. MWC evenings are as busy as the show days: partner dinners in the Eixample, receptions in hotels along the seafront, launches in venues on Montjuic. The 5-hour evening out and event night package covers dinner and the ride back, fixed from US$425 in a business sedan, US$550 in a business SUV, US$700 in a First Class Sedan and US$850 in an Executive Sprinter. The chauffeur follows local rules on passengers and alcohol; celebrating stays at the venue.
Teams and delegations. For a sales team staying in two or three hotels, the desk schedules several vehicles to one arrival time at the South Entrance and stages them for the evening. Ministerial and regulator delegations attending the government programme can book with NDAs on request through our government and diplomatic transportation service. Elly8.net arranges the cars and chauffeurs; we are not a security company, and protective details should be arranged with a licensed specialist who works alongside the driver.
Prices for MWC week: the Barcelona packages
Prices on the Barcelona price list do not change for MWC. They are per vehicle, fixed and all-in, and include the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet; tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost.
| Package | Business sedan | Business SUV | First Class Sedan | Executive Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BCN to Passeig de Gracia | US$105 | US$140 | US$185 | US$275 |
| By the hour, as directed (3-hour minimum) | US$85 / hr | US$110 / hr | US$140 / hr | US$170 / hr |
| Evening out and event night (5 hours) | US$425 | US$550 | US$700 | US$850 |
| Full-day chauffeur (8 hours) | US$630 | US$810 | US$1,035 | US$1,255 |
| Corporate roadshow day (10 hours) | US$765 | US$990 | US$1,260 | US$1,530 |
The First Class SUV sits between the business SUV and the First Class Sedan on most packages: US$170 from the airport, US$130 an hour and US$960 for a full day. Every price is on the Barcelona fares panel, and the fleet page shows what each vehicle class seats and carries.
Barcelona books out early for MWC. Hotels fill months ahead, and so do the better chauffeured vehicles, especially Sprinters and First Class cars for the first two show days. Reserving now locks the fixed price and the vehicle; you can still change times later through the desk.
Honest alternatives: when the metro or a taxi is the right call
The free transport pass is a genuinely good benefit, and for a solo delegate with a laptop bag who is staying near a metro line, it is often the fastest way to the fairground at peak times. The FGC train from Placa Espanya to Europa/Fira avoids the road entirely. If your hotel is on a direct line and your day is all inside the halls, take the train.
Taxis are fine for a single short trip outside the rush; queues build when the halls close. For the airport run, the Aerobus operates around the clock between El Prat and the city centre, a reasonable choice for one traveller heading to Placa de Catalunya.
A pre-booked chauffeur wins in the situations MWC creates every day: a meeting across the city at 13:00 and back on the stand by 15:00; a client dinner where four of you need to arrive together; a late flight on Thursday after closing; a team with equipment; anyone who needs the cost fixed and invoiced in advance. Our chauffeur vs taxi and chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft guides cover the general comparison.
After MWC: Montserrat, the coast and onward travel
With a free day, the signature Barcelona trip is Montserrat, a 6-hour package fixed from US$470 in a business sedan to US$940 in an Executive Sprinter; the private city tour runs from US$340 to US$680.
Many delegates continue to other meetings in Europe. We run the same fixed-price service as a Madrid chauffeur service, Nice airport transfers, a Monaco car service, Cannes chauffeurs and an Ibiza car service. Longer road transfers sit under city to city car service, and every European city is on the Europe hub.

Frequently asked questions
When is MWC Barcelona 2027?
MWC Barcelona 2027 runs from Monday 1 March to Thursday 4 March 2027 at Fira Barcelona Gran Via in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. Exhibitors usually arrive over the preceding weekend for build-up, so airport transfers on 27 and 28 February are among the busiest of the year. Book those early.
How much is a car from El Prat airport during MWC?
The fixed Elly8.net fare from El Prat to Passeig de Gracia is US$105 in a business sedan, US$140 in a business SUV and US$275 in an Executive Sprinter, all-in per vehicle. The price is the same during MWC as in any other week. A transfer straight to Fira Gran Via is priced in the web booker.
Where will the car drop me at Fira Gran Via?
At the private car and bus drop-off on Carrer de Salvador Espriu, near the MWC (South) Entrance, which is the arrangement the organiser publishes. Cars cannot drive to the halls. For the evening pickup the chauffeur waits in the same area and messages you the exact spot when you are ready to leave.
Can I keep a car on standby between meetings?
Yes. Book by the hour, as directed, from US$85 an hour in a business sedan to US$170 in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum, or take the 8-hour full-day chauffeur from US$630. The car waits nearby while you are in the halls and is ready when your meeting moves across the city.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less a 10% fee applies, at 48 hours or less 50%, and at 24 hours or less or for a no-show 100%. Refunds go to the original card. For MWC, confirm travel dates early, because vehicles for the first show days book out.
Do you offer corporate accounts for MWC teams?
Yes. A corporate account gives you monthly invoicing, fixed fares and one desk for every traveller, with NDAs on request for confidential meetings. Assistants can book for executives arriving on different flights, and the same account works for follow-up meetings in Madrid, Paris, London and our other cities.
