A Charlotte airport car service with Elly8.net works the same way every time: you book with your flight number, the chauffeur tracks the flight, waits for you inside baggage claim at Charlotte Douglas International (CLT) with a name board, and drives you to Uptown or any other address at a fixed price. CLT to Uptown is US$120 in a business sedan, US$160 in a business SUV and US$315 in a 12-seat Executive Sprinter, all-in.
The run itself is short, about 8 miles (13 km) and roughly 19 minutes on a clear road. What makes CLT different is the airport around it. In 2025 it handled 53.6 million passengers and 574,193 aircraft operations, and Airports Council International ranked it seventh in the world for arrivals and departures, according to Charlotte Douglas International Airport. This walkthrough follows a typical arrival step by step. Rides in Charlotte are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.

Before you fly: the booking
Give the flight number, not just a time. The flight number is what lets the chauffeur track your arrival. If the flight leaves early, lands late or is retimed, the pickup moves with it.
Choose the vehicle by bags, not only by people. A business sedan takes up to three passengers and two bags. Two travellers with two large suitcases and a pair of carry-ons belong in a business SUV, which takes six bags. A team or family with golf bags, strollers or sample cases should look at the Executive Sprinter, with room for twelve.
Add the details. Child seats are provided on request: give the number and the children's ages. If you prefer to meet outside rather than in baggage claim, add that to the notes. For a guest you are booking for, add their mobile number so the chauffeur can message them directly.
Book the return at the same time. Airport fares are the same fixed price in either direction, and the round trip costs less than two one-ways: US$230 in a business sedan and US$600 in the Sprinter.
Confirmation arrives by email. Before the pickup, the chauffeur's name and contact follow, so you know who to look for.
Step one: the landing
CLT is a large connecting hub with nonstop service to more than 194 destinations, so a lot of people arrive here at once, and the walk from a far gate to baggage claim can be long. That is why the chauffeur does not set the pickup from the scheduled time. From the flight data, the chauffeur sees when you actually land and plans to be in baggage claim as you reach it.
If you are connecting through Charlotte and the connection is missed or cancelled, message the 24/7 desk. If you end up staying the night, we can arrange a car to an airport hotel or Uptown and move any onward booking in your destination city to the new flight.
Step two: the meeting in baggage claim
Your chauffeur waits inside the Arrivals/Baggage Claim level with a name board. You collect your bags, find the board, and the chauffeur helps with luggage and walks you to the vehicle. Complimentary waiting after a tracked landing is included, so a slow belt or a long walk from the gate is not a problem.
There is a practical reason this matters at CLT. The airport allows curbside pickups but does not allow vehicles to be left unattended at the curb on either level; unattended vehicles may be towed, according to the airport's pick-up and drop-off rules. A chauffeur who meets you inside has parked properly rather than circling, which is why the meeting is calm rather than rushed. The airport also notes that limousines, limousine sedans and shuttle services are available only by pre-arrangement, per its limo and shuttle page, so a pre-booked car is the standard way to get a chauffeur at CLT.
See meet and greet for the full standard.
Step three: to the car and on the road
From baggage claim the walk to the vehicle is short, with the chauffeur carrying the heavy bags. Once you are moving, the drive to Uptown is about 19 minutes on a clear road. At the evening peak, or when a Panthers game or a concert lets out in Uptown, the desk allows 35 to 45 minutes. The fixed fare does not change with traffic.
Common drop-offs and what to tell the desk:
Uptown hotels. Name the hotel and, if it has more than one entrance, which one. On game days around Bank of America Stadium, some streets close and the chauffeur uses the nearest open entrance.
Uptown office towers. Give the building name and the street side. Many towers have a lobby drop on one street and a garage entrance on another.
SouthPark and Ballantyne. Priced in the web booker. These are common destinations for executives, and the chauffeur goes straight to the building.
The Charlotte Convention Center. Give the session time if you are heading straight to an event. Speakers often go from CLT to the Charlotte Convention Center without stopping at a hotel, and the car can hold luggage if you book it by the hour.
Step four: the drop-off and the day after
At the hotel door the chauffeur unloads your bags and you are done. Nothing to pay on the spot: the fare was fixed and paid when you reserved, or it goes on your monthly invoice if you book on a corporate account. Tolls and parking, if any, are billed at cost.
If your next day involves several meetings, an hourly chauffeur from US$95 an hour in a business sedan, three-hour minimum, keeps the same kind of car waiting outside each stop. Our Charlotte executive car service guide explains roadshow days and accounts in detail.
Late-night and early-morning arrivals
CLT's evening banks of arrivals run late, and a delayed connection can easily put you in baggage claim after midnight. The airport says its taxi service primarily operates daily from 5 a.m. to midnight, though cabs may be available off-peak, according to its taxi page. App rides at that hour depend on how many drivers are nearby.
A pre-booked car does not depend on either. If your flight is scheduled for 11:40 p.m. and lands at 1:15 a.m., the chauffeur has tracked the delay and is in baggage claim when you arrive, at the same fixed fare. The same applies to the first flights out: a 5 a.m. pickup from an Uptown or SouthPark hotel is booked like any other, and the 24/7 desk is available if anything changes overnight.
Late arrivals are also when travellers most value being met inside rather than walking out to a curb or a pickup zone with bags. For a solo traveller arriving at midday, that matters less; for anyone landing tired at 1 a.m., it is most of the reason to book.
The departure leg
The process runs in reverse. Book the pickup time from your hotel or office, give the flight number, and the chauffeur collects you at the door. CLT's departures level is on the upper level; the chauffeur drops you there with your bags. Give yourself enough time for check-in and security at a busy hub, and tell the desk if you are checking several bags or travelling with a group.
The departure fare is the same as the arrival fare: US$120 in a business sedan from Uptown to CLT, US$315 in the Executive Sprinter.
Flat rate versus metered: how the fixed price compares
CLT taxis offer a published flat rate of US$32 to Uptown within the I-277 loop, plus a US$2.50 airport fee, and are otherwise metered, according to the airport's taxi page. For one or two people going to Uptown without much luggage, that is cheaper than a chauffeured car, and it is a sensible choice. App rides pick up from a separate zone on the departures level and are priced by demand.
A pre-booked car costs more and gives you different things: the meeting inside baggage claim, flight tracking, a vehicle sized for your bags or group, child seats on request, and a price fixed before you fly to any address, not only Uptown. We compare the options in detail, with every published number, in Uber from Charlotte airport vs taxi vs private car.
Groups and families
Families. A business SUV carries up to six with six bags and is the usual choice with child seats and a stroller. US$160 to Uptown, fixed.
Teams. The Executive Sprinter takes up to twelve people and twelve bags for US$315, about US$26 a person when full. It keeps a team together from the gate to the hotel. For more on what the Sprinter suits in Charlotte, read our Charlotte Sprinter van rental guide.
Large groups. Several vehicles can go on one booking with one contact on the desk; see group transportation.
Private flights. For general aviation arrivals, send the tail number and FBO and we arrange the meeting through private jet and FBO transfers.

Frequently asked questions
Where does the chauffeur meet me at Charlotte airport?
Inside the Arrivals/Baggage Claim level, with a name board. You collect your bags, find the board, and the chauffeur walks you to the vehicle. If you would rather meet at the curb, add it to the booking notes and the chauffeur messages you when in position.
What happens if my flight to CLT is delayed?
The chauffeur tracks the flight number and adjusts the pickup to your actual landing, so you do not need to call. Complimentary waiting after a tracked landing is included. If the flight is cancelled or you miss a connection, message the 24/7 desk to move the booking.
How much luggage fits in each car?
A business sedan or First Class sedan takes up to three passengers and two bags. A business SUV or First Class SUV takes up to six passengers and six bags. The Executive Sprinter takes up to twelve passengers and twelve bags. Choose by bags if you are travelling heavy.
Is the price the same going to the airport?
Yes. Every Elly8.net airport fare is the same fixed price in either direction, so Uptown to CLT is US$120 in a business sedan and US$315 in an Executive Sprinter. Booking both legs as a round trip is cheaper, from US$230 in a business sedan.
Is a taxi cheaper than a car service from CLT?
For Uptown, usually yes. CLT taxis publish a US$32 flat rate to Uptown within the I-277 loop, plus a US$2.50 airport fee. A taxi suits one or two travellers with light bags. A car service adds meet and greet, flight tracking, larger vehicles and a fixed price to any address.
Can you book a car for someone else?
Yes. Enter the traveller's name and mobile number in the booking notes so the chauffeur can contact them directly on arrival. Assistants, hotels and travel agents book this way regularly, and a corporate account adds monthly invoicing and saved traveller profiles.
