A car service from Boston Airport is mostly about the twenty minutes after you land. Logan International is only about 5 miles (9 km) from Back Bay, roughly 13 minutes on a clear road, but between the gate and the car there is a terminal to cross, bags to collect, and an airport that sends app rides, taxis and pre-arranged cars to three different places. A good booking takes all of that off your hands.
With Elly8.net, the price is fixed before you fly: US$130 from Logan to Back Bay in a business sedan, US$170 in a business SUV and US$340 in a 12-seat Executive Sprinter, all-in. This guide walks through exactly what happens on arrival, terminal by terminal, so you know what to expect and what to do if the flight is late, the bags are slow or the tunnel is backed up.
What happens when you book a car service from Logan?
You give us the flight number. We track it, and the chauffeur times the pickup to the real landing. When you reach baggage claim, the chauffeur is waiting inside arrivals with a name board, helps with the bags and walks you to the car at the terminal's pre-arranged pickup area. The fixed fare to Back Bay starts at US$130.
That is the whole promise, and the rest of this guide fills in the detail. Every Elly8.net price includes the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet. Tunnel tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. The full Logan and Hanscom grids are on our Boston limo service page.
Step 1: before you fly
Booking takes three inputs: the pickup (Logan, with your flight number), the drop-off address, and the vehicle. The flight number is the important one. It lets the desk follow delays, diversions and early arrivals without you sending a message from the plane.
Choose the vehicle by bags as much as by people:
| Vehicle | Passengers | Bags | Logan to Back Bay | Round trip |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business Sedan | 3 | 2 | US$130 | US$250 |
| Business SUV | 6 | 6 | US$170 | US$325 |
| First Class SUV | 6 | 6 | US$210 | US$400 |
| First Class Sedan | 3 | 2 | US$230 | US$440 |
| Executive Sprinter | 12 | 12 | US$340 | US$650 |
Two travellers with two large cases and two carry-ons are already past a sedan's comfortable load; book the SUV. Skis, golf bags, strollers and car seats all count, and child seats are available on request when you book. Seats and bags for every class are on the fleet page.
Hotels in the Seaport, Downtown, the North End and the South End are close to the Back Bay fare, while Cambridge, Brookline and the suburbs are priced in the web booker. Either way you see the all-in price before you pay, and confirmation arrives by email.
Step 2: landing and flight tracking
Logan has four terminals, A, B, C and E, and most international arrivals use Terminal E. We watch your flight from departure. If it lands 50 minutes late, the pickup moves 50 minutes. If it lands early, the chauffeur is already there. You receive complimentary waiting after a tracked landing, which covers the normal walk to baggage claim, slow carousels and, on international flights, the customs queue.
You do not need to call anyone when you land. If you would like to, the chauffeur's details and the 24/7 desk number are in your confirmation.
Step 3: the meeting point
With meet and greet, your chauffeur waits inside arrivals at baggage claim for your terminal, holding a name board. International arrivals at Terminal E are met after customs.
From there you walk together to the vehicle. Massport sends pre-arranged cars to a dedicated limo stand at each terminal, separate from taxis and app rides, and states on its taxi and limo page that limo service is available only by prior reservation:
- Terminal A: the lot across from the curb on the Arrivals (lower) level.
- Terminal B: curbside on the Departures (upper) level, between doors B-205 and B-208.
- Terminal C: the ground-level limo stand in the Central Parking Garage.
- Terminal E: E Lot 2 on the Arrivals (lower) level.
You do not need to memorise any of that; the chauffeur leads the way. It does explain why a meet-and-greet booking is worth having at Logan. Without it, you are reading signs after a long flight.
For comparison, app rides go elsewhere. According to Massport's ride-app page, Uber and Lyft pickups for Terminals A, C and E are in the Central Parking Garage, and Terminal B pickups are on Level 2, the departures level, of the Terminal B Parking Garage. Taxis wait at designated stands on the Arrivals level of every terminal, with dispatchers on duty.
Step 4: the drive and the tunnels
Logan sits across the harbour in East Boston, so every ride into the city goes through one of the harbour tunnels. On a clear road, Back Bay is about 13 minutes away. On a weekday afternoon, or on a Celtics, Bruins or Red Sox night when traffic backs up around the Garden and Kenmore Square, allow 30 to 45 minutes. Tunnel tolls are billed at cost on your receipt; the fare itself does not change with traffic.
Typical drop-off patterns we book every day:
- Back Bay hotels around Copley Square, Boylston Street and the Prudential Center: the priced centre of our Boston grid.
- The Seaport, near the Thomas M. Menino Convention & Exhibition Center at 415 Summer Street: often one of the quickest runs from Logan.
- Downtown and the Financial District, for law firms and banks, and the North End for its small hotels and narrow streets, where the chauffeur stops at the nearest legal point.
- Cambridge, for Harvard, MIT and Kendall Square, priced in the web booker.
- South Station or Back Bay Station for an onward train; see train station transfers.
Step 5: drop-off and the receipt
At the hotel, the chauffeur unloads the bags at the driveway or door. There is nothing to pay at the end: the gratuity is already included, and tolls are added to the receipt automatically. For business travellers, a corporate account puts every ride on one monthly invoice, with saved traveller profiles.
Flat rate vs metered: what you are actually choosing
Boston has good cheaper options from Logan, and they are worth knowing. The MBTA Silver Line SL1 serves every terminal and runs to South Station, and the MBTA states on its Logan Airport page that service from the airport is always free. A free Massport shuttle links every terminal to Airport station on the Blue Line. Logan Express buses run to Back Bay and four suburban sites. We compare those options in detail in Logan Airport shuttle vs private car.
Taxis at the stands are metered, so a slow tunnel adds to the fare, and tolls are added. App rides price at the moment of request and rise when a convention closes or a storm resets the schedule.
A pre-booked car is the flat-rate option. The number on your confirmation is what you pay, the vehicle is the size you booked, and someone is waiting inside. For one person with a carry-on heading to South Station, the Silver Line is the better deal. For families with car seats, late international arrivals, clients and teams with bags, the fixed fare is the calmer start. Our chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft page covers the trade-offs in general.
If something changes
- Flight delayed or diverted. Tracked automatically; the pickup moves with it.
- Bags lost. Tell the chauffeur or the desk; complimentary waiting covers the normal baggage process, and longer waits are billed at cost only beyond the included time.
- Plans change before you travel. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup, 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show. Refunds go to the original card.
Rides in Boston are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Partner vehicles are 4 model years or newer.
The trip back: departures to Logan
Most travellers book the return at the same time, and a business sedan round trip between Logan and Back Bay is US$250, less than two one-way fares. For the departure, tell the desk your flight time, your terminal and whether you are checking bags, and we suggest a pickup time that allows for the tunnel and the security line. The chauffeur drops you at the departures level of your terminal.
Build in more time on the days Boston is busiest: Friday afternoons, the Sunday after a holiday weekend, Marathon weekend in April and the college move-in and graduation weeks of May, August and September. On those days the drive is longer, the curbs are crowded and the security lines are slow, and a car that arrives on time is worth more than one that is cheap. The Boston Athletic Association lists the next Boston Marathon for April 19, 2027; expect road closures along the course and around the Boylston Street finish in Back Bay.
Private jets at Hanscom Field
If you are flying privately, the arrival is at Hanscom Field in Bedford rather than Logan. Massport lists three FBOs there: Atlantic Aviation, Jet Aviation and Signature Aviation. Send the tail number, the FBO and the expected time, and the chauffeur meets you at the FBO. Hanscom to Back Bay is about 20 miles (33 km), around 37 minutes clear, from US$215 in a business sedan to US$560 in an Executive Sprinter. See private jet and FBO car service.
Beyond Boston
Many Logan arrivals continue elsewhere. Providence is the closest of our other cities, and Hartford and New York City are one-way city to city car service trips. Groups arriving for a conference or a wedding can book a Sprinter for the whole stay; see our Boston Sprinter van rental guide.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a car service from Boston Logan to Back Bay?
A business sedan is US$130, fixed and all-in, including the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. A business SUV is US$170, a First Class SUV US$210, a First Class Sedan US$230 and an Executive Sprinter US$340. Tunnel tolls and parking are billed at cost, and traffic does not change the price.
Where will my driver meet me at Logan?
Inside arrivals at baggage claim for your terminal, holding a name board. International arrivals at Terminal E are met after customs. The chauffeur then walks you to the car at the terminal's pre-arranged pickup area, so you never need to find the ride-app garage or join the taxi line.
What if my flight to Boston is late?
We track the flight from departure and move the pickup to the actual landing time, with complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. You do not need to call. A delay is not a no-show, and the fixed price stays the same however late the flight arrives.
How long does the drive from Logan into Boston take?
About 13 minutes to Back Bay on a clear road. On weekday afternoons and on game nights near TD Garden or Fenway, allow 30 to 45 minutes. The Seaport and Downtown are usually quicker. Your price is fixed, so a slow tunnel affects the time but not the fare.
Can I get a child seat for a Logan pickup?
Yes, on request when you book. Give the child's age and weight and the right seat is fitted before the chauffeur meets you. For families with strollers and several cases, a Business SUV at US$170 to Back Bay gives room for seats and bags together.
Is a car service better than the Silver Line from Logan?
Not always. The Silver Line SL1 is free from the airport and is the best value for one person with light luggage going to South Station. A car service is the better choice for families, groups with bags, late arrivals, child seats and anyone who wants a fixed price and someone waiting inside.
