A Newark Liberty airport car service works best when the booking carries the right details: the flight number for tracking, the real number of bags, the name to put on the board and the exact drop-off entrance. Get those right and the pickup is simple: your chauffeur waits inside arrivals, carries the luggage and drives you at a fixed price, from US$215 in a business sedan to Midtown Manhattan.
This guide is the practical side of the Newark run: how meet and greet works, how much luggage each vehicle really takes, what to do with golf bags, skis, strollers and wheelchairs, how to book for someone else, and the New Jersey and airport-connection trips that start at EWR. Rides in New York City are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
What is meet and greet at Newark Airport?
Meet and greet means your chauffeur waits for you inside the arrivals hall of your Newark terminal with a name board, after the desk has tracked your flight. You collect your bags, meet at the board and the chauffeur carries the luggage to the car. It is included in every Elly8.net airport fare.
There is no extra charge for it and nothing to activate. Every airport price on the New York price list already includes the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet; tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. More on how it works across our cities is on the meet and greet page.

The booking checklist: eight details the desk needs
The online booker asks for the essentials. These are the details that turn a good pickup into an effortless one.
- Flight number and date. Tracking follows the flight, so the chauffeur adjusts to early and late landings. If you change flights, send the new number.
- Origin of the flight. An international arrival needs immigration and customs time; a short domestic hop does not. The desk plans the meeting accordingly.
- The name on the board. Booking for a client or a parent? Put their name, not yours, and add their mobile number so the chauffeur can reach them directly.
- Passenger count, including children. Children count as passengers, and child seats must be requested by type: infant, convertible or booster.
- Bags, honestly counted. Large checked cases, carry-ons and anything oversized. This decides the vehicle more than the headcount.
- The drop-off entrance. Hotel driveway, office lobby on a side street, apartment with a doorman. A note saves ten minutes circling the block.
- Extra stops. Picking up a colleague in Jersey City on the way in, or dropping a bag at a hotel before a meeting? Add the stops when you book.
- How you will pay. Reserve now on a published price, or use the web booker for any other address. Companies can bill to a corporate account.
Confirmation arrives by email, and the chauffeur's details follow before pickup.
How meet and greet works on the day
Before landing. The desk has been watching the flight since departure. If you land early, the chauffeur is already there; if you land late, the car simply waits for the new time.
At the gate. Turn your phone on. A short message to the desk that you have landed is welcome, but not required.
In arrivals. Newark has three passenger terminals, A, B and C. In each, your chauffeur stands in the arrivals area with your name on a board. Collect your bags first; the chauffeur holds the meeting point rather than following you around the belts.
Waiting. You get complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. If immigration lines are long or a bag goes missing, message the desk; the car stays, and extra waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost.
The walk to the car. The chauffeur takes the luggage. You do not need the taxi stand, the AirTrain or the app pickup areas, which the Port Authority lists on its EWR ride-share page as the arrivals level across the street at Terminal A, the arrivals frontage at Terminal B and Floor 3 of the Terminal C Garage.
If something goes wrong. Stay inside and call or message the 24/7 desk. The Port Authority's Welcome Center in the arrivals area (Level 1) of each terminal is the official help point, and the airport warns against accepting rides from anyone soliciting in the building.
Luggage: what really fits in each vehicle
Bags, more than people, decide the right vehicle. These are the capacities from our fleet page, with the fixed EWR to Midtown fare for each.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Bags | EWR to Midtown | Typical Newark use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$215 | Solo traveller or couple, carry-ons |
| First Class Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$380 | Executive or VIP, light luggage |
| Business SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$280 | Family, checked cases, stroller |
| First Class SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$345 | VIP arrival with full luggage |
| Executive Sprinter | up to 12 | 12 | US$560 | Team, wedding party, family reunion |
"Bags" means standard large suitcases. In practice:
- Two travellers, two large cases and two carry-ons fit a sedan only just, if at all. A business SUV is the safe choice for US$65 more.
- A family of four with a stroller is an SUV booking, not a sedan.
- A team of eight with checked luggage fits one Executive Sprinter, which at US$560 is US$70 a head before tolls, less than splitting several cabs once the bag fees and surcharges are added.
The Newark taxi rules are a useful contrast: the Port Authority's taxi fare page adds US$1 for each bag, carry-ons included, and limits a cab to four passengers (five in a minivan). With a pre-booked car, bags within the vehicle's capacity are part of the fare.
Oversized items, accessibility and special requests
Golf bags. Each golf bag counts as more than one suitcase. Two golfers with clubs and cases belong in a business SUV.
Skis and snowboards. Ski bags are long; a business SUV or an Executive Sprinter is the realistic choice.
Strollers and car seats. Bring the stroller as a bag in the count. Child seats are available on request and installed before pickup, so you do not need to carry your own car seat off the plane.
Wheelchairs and mobility aids. Tell the desk the type of chair and whether the passenger can transfer to a seat. A folding chair travels in the luggage area; the desk advises on the right vehicle for anything larger. For help from the gate to arrivals, arrange wheelchair assistance with your airline before you fly.
Pets. Tell the desk at booking so the partner can confirm the vehicle.
Instruments, sample cases and production kit. Exhibitors and crews often carry hard cases. Give dimensions; an Executive Sprinter usually solves it, and film and production transportation covers larger moves.
Booking for someone else: clients, family and executives
A large share of Newark bookings are made by an assistant, a travel agent, a hotel concierge or a family member.
- Put the traveller's name on the board and their mobile number in the booking, so the chauffeur and the passenger can reach each other.
- Tell the traveller what to expect: the chauffeur waits inside arrivals with a name board, and they should not go outside to the taxi stand.
- Add a note for VIPs who prefer discretion, such as a board with a company name or initials. NDAs are available on request.
- Use an account. Travel agents and hotels can book through our travel agent and hotel partner programmes, and companies can bill monthly.
Departures to EWR: drop-off tips
Know your terminal. Give the airline and terminal so the chauffeur goes straight to the right departures door. Terminal A, the newest, is not on the AirTrain line directly, as the Port Authority's AirTrain page notes: a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute shuttle from the station. A car to the door avoids that entirely.
Leave time for the tunnels. Outbound traffic through the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels builds on weekday afternoons. The desk suggests a pickup time based on your departure, the day and the terminal.
Book it as a round trip. If you land and leave from Newark, a round trip to Midtown starts at US$410 in a business sedan and US$1,065 in an Executive Sprinter.
Check the bags again on the way out. Shopping, gifts and trade-show samples make the return trip heavier than the arrival. If you came in a sedan with two cases and are leaving with four, switch the departure to a business SUV when you book it; the desk can change the vehicle on an existing booking, subject to availability.
Be ready in the lobby. In Manhattan the chauffeur waits on the avenue side of busy hotels and messages when the car is outside. Being in the lobby at the pickup time keeps the car off a crowded curb and the schedule on track for your flight.
New Jersey trips and airport connections from EWR
Newark is a New Jersey airport first, and many of our EWR rides never enter Manhattan. The Port Authority's published taxi estimates give a sense of distance: US$56 to Hoboken, Jersey City and MetLife Stadium, US$69 to Teterboro, US$79 to Hackensack and Edison and US$89 to New Brunswick, before tips, tolls and fees. Pre-booked cars to these addresses are priced in the web booker by vehicle.
- MetLife Stadium. For game days and concerts, see sports event transportation; the Army-Navy Game is scheduled at MetLife on December 12, 2026, per the Army-Navy Game organisers.
- Teterboro. Connecting to a private jet? Give the tail number and FBO; see private jet and FBO transfers.
- JFK and LaGuardia connections. The Port Authority estimates US$160 by taxi from Newark to JFK and US$110 to LaGuardia. By pre-booked car, give both flight numbers and the desk times the transfer.
- Philadelphia and Atlantic City. Longer runs south are covered on the Philadelphia car service and Atlantic City limo service pages.

Frequently asked questions
Is meet and greet included in the Newark fare?
Yes. Every Elly8.net airport price includes meet and greet: the chauffeur waits inside the arrivals hall of your terminal with a name board and carries your bags to the car. The fare also includes the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes and standard gratuity. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost.
How many suitcases fit in a business sedan from EWR?
A Business Sedan or First Class Sedan takes up to three passengers and two standard bags. With two large checked cases plus carry-ons, or any golf bag or stroller, choose a Business SUV (six passengers, six bags) from US$280 to Midtown. Groups with luggage fit an Executive Sprinter, up to 12 passengers and 12 bags.
Can a Newark pickup be booked for a client or family member?
Yes. Enter the traveller's name for the board and their mobile number, and add your own details for the confirmation. The chauffeur contacts the traveller directly on arrival. Companies, travel agents and hotels can book through accounts with monthly invoicing, and NDAs are available on request.
What happens if a bag is lost at Newark?
Go to your airline's baggage service desk and message the 24/7 desk so the chauffeur knows. You get complimentary waiting after a tracked landing; if the report takes longer, the car waits and extra waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost.
Do you provide child seats at Newark Airport?
Yes, on request. Add the number of seats and the type, infant, convertible or booster, when you book, and the chauffeur installs them before you arrive. Count the children as passengers and the stroller as a bag when choosing the vehicle.
How far ahead should a Newark car be booked?
As soon as your flight is confirmed. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; within 72 hours a 10% charge applies, within 48 hours 50%, and within 24 hours or for a no-show 100%. For game days, holiday weekends and big trade shows, SUVs and Sprinters sell out first.
