A Cincinnati airport car service booked on Elly8.net works like this: your chauffeur waits for you in the Meet and Greet area on the lower level of the CVG terminal, holding a name board, and walks you to the car at Ground Transport East once you have your bags. The fare to downtown Cincinnati is fixed before you fly, from US$150 in a business sedan to US$390 in an Executive Sprinter, all-in, and it is the same price in the other direction when you fly home.
The details matter more at CVG than at most airports, because pickups do not happen at the terminal curb and the airport is across the Ohio River in Kentucky. Rides in Cincinnati are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
How does a CVG airport pickup work?
At CVG, your chauffeur meets you in the Meet and Greet area on the lower level of the terminal, which every arriving passenger passes on the way to the baggage claim escalators. After bags, you walk together to Ground Transport East, where private cars load. Your flight is tracked, and waiting after a tracked landing is complimentary.
That is the short version. The rest of this post walks through each step, what the waiting policy covers, which vehicle fits your bags, and how a flat rate compares with the metered and app-priced options at the same airport. For the full price panel and the city overview, see our Cincinnati car service page.

Step 1: book with the flight number, not just the time
The most useful thing you can give the desk is the flight number. With it, the pickup is tied to the actual arrival rather than to the time printed on your ticket. If a connection through another hub slips by forty minutes, the chauffeur's arrival slips with it, and you do not have to message anyone from the jet bridge.
Put the address you are going to in the booking too, whether it is a downtown hotel near Fountain Square, an apartment in Over-the-Rhine or an office park in Blue Ash. Downtown is on the fixed price list; every other address gets a fixed number in the web booker before you pay. Add a child seat request at this stage if you need one, with the child's age and weight, so the right seat is fitted before the chauffeur leaves for the airport.
Step 2: walk to Meet and Greet, not to the curb
CVG has a single terminal building, and arriving passengers come down to the lower level on the way to the baggage claim escalators. According to the airport's guide to meeting passengers, the Meet and Greet area sits on that lower level, and every arriving passenger walks past it. That is where your chauffeur stands with your name on a board.
This is the moment that separates a pre-booked car from every other option. You are not opening an app, not looking for a rank, and not trying to describe where you are standing. You find the board, say hello, and the chauffeur takes it from there. If you need a restroom or a coffee first, tell the chauffeur; the clock that matters is the tracked landing, not the minute you walk out.
Step 3: bags, then Ground Transport East
Here is the quirk. CVG does not load passengers at the terminal curb. The airport's ground transportation page is explicit that most providers pick up from Ground Transport East or Ground Transport West, and that these are not at the terminal curbfront. Private vans, cars and limousines, taxis and rideshare all follow signs to Ground Transport East from the baggage claim level, while hotel courtesy shuttles use Ground Transport West.
So the sequence is: meet your chauffeur, collect your bags at the carousel, then walk together to Ground Transport East and the car. Travellers who book a rideshare often discover this split only after they have stepped outside to the wrong place; with a chauffeur walking beside you, it is a non-issue. The same airport page notes that walk-up service after midnight may be limited and encourages travellers to arrange ground transportation in advance, which is worth knowing if your flight is scheduled to land late.
Waiting time: what "complimentary after a tracked landing" means
Waiting is the part of airport transfers where pricing gets murky elsewhere, so here is exactly how it works on Elly8.net.
- Early or late landing. Because the flight is tracked, the chauffeur works to the real landing time. An early arrival does not leave you alone in the terminal, and a late one does not cost you extra.
- After the plane lands. You get complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. That covers the walk from the gate, the baggage carousel and the ordinary pauses of arrival.
- Beyond the included time. If you are held up for a long stretch, for example at a lost-baggage desk, waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost. Message the desk and the chauffeur will keep waiting; nobody leaves without speaking to you first.
- Parking. The chauffeur's parking at the airport is part of the meet and greet; other parking (an event garage later in your trip, say) is billed at cost.
The practical upshot: you do not need to rush, and you do not need to pad your booking time.
Which vehicle fits your bags?
Luggage, more than passenger count, is what usually decides the vehicle. The fleet page lists capacities; these are the classes on the Cincinnati price list.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Checked bags | CVG to downtown, one way | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$150 | one or two travellers with standard bags |
| First Class Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$265 | executives, VIP guests, a quieter cabin |
| Business SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$195 | families, golf bags, three travellers with luggage |
| First Class SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$240 | executive teams, families who want the top SUV |
| Executive Sprinter | up to 12 | 12 | US$390 | wedding parties, sports teams, conference groups |
Two travellers with two large cases each will be tight in a sedan, and a family of four with a stroller and car seats belongs in an SUV. If you are unsure, tell the desk what you are carrying and we will say which class fits, rather than letting you find out at the trunk. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer.
Flat rate vs metered vs app pricing at CVG
Cincinnati's airport offers every common option, and each has its place. What follows is a fair summary; the Cincinnati taxi side is covered in more depth in our Cincinnati taxi guide.
| Option | How it is priced | Where you board | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| TANK 2X Airporter bus | US$2 local cash fare | Ground Transport East, follow signs to public transit | one traveller, light bag, no time pressure |
| Taxi | priced by the operator; ask before you ride | Ground Transport East | walk-up arrivals, one or two people |
| Rideshare | set by the app at the moment you request, rises with demand | Ground Transport East | flexible off-peak trips |
| Elly8.net, fixed fare | from US$150 sedan to US$390 Sprinter, all-in per vehicle | chauffeur meets you inside, then Ground Transport East | late flights, groups, meetings, fixed budgets |
The bus is genuinely good value. TANK's 2X Airporter links downtown Cincinnati and the CVG terminal, and on the current weekday timetable it runs about every 30 minutes, with roughly 24 minutes scheduled between 5th and Elm downtown and the airport. The local cash fare is US$2. TANK has announced service changes from November 7, so check the timetable before you rely on a specific departure.
The flat rate wins in different situations: three or more people with bags, where one vehicle replaces several app rides; a late landing, when walk-up options thin out; a meeting downtown within the hour; a Bengals Sunday, when demand-based pricing on the apps tends to climb; or simply when a company wants one known number on an expense report. Our chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft and chauffeur vs airport shuttle pages go further into the trade-offs.
What the fixed fare includes, and what it does not
The CVG fare covers the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. The standard route from CVG into downtown has no tolls, so in practice the extras line is rare on a plain airport run.
Every price is per vehicle, never per person. Four colleagues in a business SUV pay US$195 between them for the trip downtown, not US$195 each.
If you know you will be flying out of CVG as well, book the return at the same time. The round trip between CVG and downtown is priced together, from US$285 in a business sedan (against US$300 for two separate one-way fares) and US$375 in a business SUV, up to US$745 in an Executive Sprinter. The return leg is the same fixed price whichever direction you travel.
Departures: getting back to CVG on time
For the flight home, the chauffeur picks you up at your hotel or office and drops you at the departures curb. CVG is about 20 km (12 mi) from downtown, around 22 minutes on a clear road, but the drive crosses the Ohio River, and the bridge approaches on I-71 and I-75 are where delays build in the weekday rush.
On a weekday morning from downtown we usually suggest leaving about 2 hours before a domestic departure, more if the bridge traffic is heavy or you are checking several bags. From Covington or Newport on the Kentucky side, you are already across the river and the drive is shorter. From Blue Ash, Mason or West Chester to the north, allow considerably longer; the web booker prices those addresses individually.
Corporate arrivals and conference groups
A good share of CVG pickups are business travellers heading downtown or north to the office parks along I-71 and I-75. The city's convention centre, which many people still call the Duke Energy Convention Center, now operates as First Financial Center; according to Visit Cincy, it reopened in January 2026 after renovation. For a show, the desk can stagger arrivals for a booth team, hold a Sprinter for a group landing within the same hour, and run evening transfers, all on one booking. See conference transportation.
Companies that fly people through CVG regularly can open a corporate account for monthly invoicing and one point of contact, with NDAs on request. For an executive who lands, meets and flies out the same day, an hourly chauffeur at US$95 an hour in a business sedan (3-hour minimum) keeps one car waiting between meetings.

Frequently asked questions
Where do I meet my driver at the Cincinnati airport?
In the Meet and Greet area on the lower level of the CVG terminal, which all arriving passengers pass on the way to the baggage claim escalators. Your chauffeur holds a name board. After you collect your bags, you walk together to Ground Transport East, where private cars load, because CVG does not use the terminal curb for pickups.
How much is a car service from CVG to downtown Cincinnati?
On Elly8.net it is US$150 in a business sedan, US$195 in a business SUV, US$240 in a First Class SUV, US$265 in a First Class sedan and US$390 in an Executive Sprinter, one way. The price is fixed and all-in per vehicle, and the same fare applies from downtown back to CVG.
What happens if my flight to CVG is delayed?
Nothing you need to manage. The desk tracks the flight number in your booking and moves the pickup to the real arrival time. Waiting is complimentary after a tracked landing. If something holds you up for a long time after landing, such as a lost-bag claim, message the desk and the chauffeur keeps waiting; extra time beyond the included waiting is billed at cost.
Is the TANK bus a good option from CVG?
For one traveller with a light bag and no deadline, yes. The 2X Airporter connects the terminal with downtown Cincinnati, runs about every 30 minutes on the current weekday timetable, and costs US$2. For groups, families with car seats, late flights or a meeting soon after landing, a fixed-fare chauffeur is usually the better fit.
How early should I leave downtown for a CVG flight?
On a weekday morning we usually suggest about 2 hours before a domestic departure, a little more if you are checking several bags or the I-71/I-75 bridge traffic is heavy. The clear-road drive is around 22 minutes for 20 km (12 mi), but the river crossing is where the delays build.
Can I book a car for a group arriving at CVG?
Yes. An Executive Sprinter carries up to 12 passengers and 12 bags for US$390 to downtown, per vehicle. For larger groups or staggered arrivals, the desk can combine vehicles on one booking and time each pickup to its own tracked flight.
