At most airports, "meet and greet" means a person waiting for you inside the arrivals area with your name on a board, rather than a car you have to find outside. At LAX that difference is bigger than usual, because standard taxis and app rides do not collect at the terminal kerb at all: they wait at a separate lot that you reach by shuttle or on foot. A meet and greet replaces that walk with a person who already knows your flight, your bags and your car.
With Elly8.net, meet and greet is part of every airport pickup, not an add-on. The fixed, all-in fare for LAX to Beverly Hills, from US$170 in a Business Sedan to US$445 in an Executive Sprinter, already includes the chauffeur waiting inside arrivals with a name board, flight tracking and complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. This guide explains how it works and when it is genuinely worth choosing over the alternatives.
What does an LAX meet and greet include?
With an Elly8.net LAX pickup, the chauffeur tracks your flight, waits inside the arrivals area of your terminal with a name board, helps with your bags and walks you to the car. Complimentary waiting starts after a tracked landing. There is no separate meet and greet fee: it is included in the fixed, all-in airport fare.
It helps to be precise about what the service is and is not:
- It is a chauffeur in the public arrivals area, after baggage claim and customs, holding a board with the traveller's name.
- It is flight tracking, so the chauffeur works to the actual landing time rather than the schedule.
- It is help with luggage and a walk to the waiting car, so you never need the shuttle to the ride-app lot.
- It is not an airside escort through immigration or security. Those areas are controlled by the airport and federal agencies, and the meeting happens once you come out.
Our airport meet and greet page describes the service across every Elly8.net city; this post is about LAX in particular.

How LAX pickups work without one
To see why the meeting matters at LAX, look at the kerb. The arrivals level is organised by coloured signs, and each colour means a different kind of ride. According to Los Angeles World Airports:
| Sign colour | Where | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Green | Arrivals level, inner kerb outside baggage claim | Free shuttle to LAX-it, where taxis and standard app rides collect |
| Blue | Arrivals level, in front of each terminal | FlyAway buses to Union Station and Van Nuys |
| Pink | Arrivals level | Free LAX shuttles, including to the LAX/Metro Transit Center |
| Orange | Arrivals level | Scheduled shared-ride buses to the wider region |
| Red | Departures level | Hotel and off-airport parking shuttles |
| Outer kerb | Arrivals level | Private vehicles picking up passengers |
LAX-it itself is a lot next to Terminal 1. The airport says its shuttles arrive every 3 to 5 minutes and travel in dedicated lanes, and you can also walk there. Taxis are also available at two terminal locations: inside Parking Structure 3 between Tom Bradley International and Terminal 3, and at the far end of Terminal 7. The system works, and for many travellers it is fine. It is also one more queue, one more bus with bags and one more step to navigate after a long flight.
There is a middle option. LAX says premium app services, Uber Black, Uber Black SUV, Lyft Lux and Lyft Lux XL, can pick up directly at the terminal. That puts the car at the kerb, but you still find it yourself, the price is set by the app at the time, and nobody is inside waiting if your bags are slow. Our comparison of Uber Black vs a pre-booked chauffeur goes into the detail.
Step by step: an Elly8.net meet and greet at LAX
- Booking. You add the flight number, the passenger name and the number of bags. If someone else is booking for you, the name on the board is the traveller's, not the booker's.
- Before landing. The desk confirms the booking and the chauffeur's details by email. Save the desk contact; the 24/7 desk can be reached by phone, WhatsApp or chat.
- Landing. The flight is tracked. Complimentary waiting starts after the tracked landing, so taxiing, immigration and the bag belt are already allowed for within the included time.
- Arrivals hall. You walk out of baggage claim, or customs at Tom Bradley, and look for your name. The chauffeur introduces themselves and confirms your name and destination before taking any bags.
- To the car. The chauffeur helps with the luggage and walks you out to the vehicle. Child seats you requested are already fitted.
- The drive. You go straight to your hotel, office or home, with any stops you booked.
If you cannot see your chauffeur, do not go looking outside: contact the desk, which is in touch with the chauffeur and will guide you to each other. And as the airport itself advises for app rides, always confirm you are getting into the right vehicle with the right driver.
When meet and greet is worth it
Meet and greet is most valuable when the arrival is the hardest part of the trip.
- International arrivals. After a long flight and immigration, a familiar process beats an unfamiliar one. Many long-haul flights arrive at Tom Bradley International, the airport's Terminal B.
- First visit to Los Angeles. No need to learn the coloured kerbs or the LAX-it system on the first evening; save the energy for the city, and use Discover Los Angeles, the official visitor site, to plan the days ahead.
- Families with children. The chauffeur helps with bags and strollers, and child seats (available on request) are fitted before you land. LAX notes that its LAX-it shuttles have no seat belts for securing car seats.
- Older travellers and anyone who needs help. A person, not a sign, guides the way. Tell us about wheelchairs when you book.
- Executives and VIPs. A chauffeur inside arrivals means no standing at a kerb with a phone, and NDAs are available on request. For principals arriving privately, see private jet and FBO transfers.
- Groups. A single meeting point for six or twelve people, with an SUV or an Executive Sprinter outside, is far easier than coordinating several app rides.
- Late-night arrivals. When app supply thins out, a chauffeur who has been tracking your flight is already there.
Tips for the traveller being met
A meet and greet is simple, but a few small things make it seamless, especially for someone landing in Los Angeles for the first time:
- Check the name. The board shows the traveller's name as booked. If you travel under a different name from the one an assistant used, tell the desk.
- Keep the confirmation handy. It has the chauffeur's details and the desk contact. LAX offers free Wi-Fi in the terminals, according to the airport, which helps if your phone has no roaming.
- Do not leave the building to look for the car. The chauffeur is inside; the car is not at the green, blue or orange signs.
- Groups: walk out together. If one person clears immigration much faster, they can find the chauffeur first and the others follow.
- Unexpected change? If you miss a connection or are rebooked onto another flight, tell the desk the new flight number and the desk updates the pickup.
LAX also restricts entry to its terminal buildings to airline passengers and the people meeting, accompanying or assisting them, so the person holding your name board is there for exactly that reason.
When you can probably skip it
Be honest with yourself about the trip. If you are one person with a carry-on, landing at a quiet hour and heading somewhere close, an app ride from LAX-it or the Metro is perfectly sensible. The Metro regular fare is US$1.75, and LAX runs a free shuttle to the LAX/Metro Transit Center. A frequent flyer who knows LAX well may also prefer a kerbside premium app ride. A meet and greet is a convenience, and like any convenience it is worth more on some trips than others.
What it costs with Elly8.net
Because meet and greet is included, the cost is simply the airport fare. On the Los Angeles price list:
- LAX to Beverly Hills: from US$170 in a Business Sedan, US$225 in a Business SUV, US$275 in a First Class SUV, US$300 in a First Class Sedan and US$445 in an Executive Sprinter.
- Round trip LAX and Beverly Hills: from US$325 to US$850.
Fares are fixed and all-in: chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity, meet and greet and flight tracking. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost, and the desk tells you before extra waiting applies. Any other destination, from Santa Monica to Long Beach, is priced in the web booker with the same inclusions. Seen that way, the real comparison is not meet and greet against no meet and greet, but a fixed fare with a person waiting inside against a variable app fare with a lot or a kerb to find. On a quiet Tuesday the difference is small; on a late Friday arrival with a family, it is the whole evening.
The same meeting applies whether you are heading to the Westside or further afield. Our guides to LAX to Orange County and LAX to Long Beach cover those drives.
Meet and greet at Burbank and the other Los Angeles airports
LAX is not the only airport in the region. At Hollywood Burbank, the chauffeur meets you in the same way; our Burbank Airport car service guide explains the details, including the airport's new terminal. Van Nuys pickups for private aviation happen at the FBO, and John Wayne Airport arrivals are covered on the Orange County car service page.

Frequently asked questions
Is meet and greet included in the price?
Yes. Every Elly8.net airport pickup includes the chauffeur waiting inside arrivals with a name board, flight tracking and complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. LAX to Beverly Hills starts at US$170 in a Business Sedan, all-in. There is no separate meet and greet fee.
Where exactly will the chauffeur wait at LAX?
Inside the public arrivals area of your terminal, where passengers come out after baggage claim, or after customs for international flights. Share your flight number when you book and the desk confirms the meeting point for your terminal, including Tom Bradley International.
What if my flight is early or late?
The flight is tracked, and the chauffeur works to the actual landing time. Complimentary waiting starts after a tracked landing, so delays and slow bags do not change the fixed price within the included time. If extra waiting would apply, the desk tells you first.
Can the chauffeur meet me at the gate or inside customs?
No. The meeting takes place in the public arrivals area once you have come out. Airside areas are controlled by the airport and federal agencies, and the chauffeur waits where all meeters and greeters wait.
Is meet and greet worth it for a solo traveller?
It depends on the trip. For a first visit, a late landing, a heavy bag or a meeting straight after arrival, yes. For a frequent traveller with a carry-on at a quiet hour, an app ride or the Metro is a reasonable choice.
Can you meet a group arriving on different flights?
Yes. Several pickups can be booked on one reservation, each tracked to its own flight, or one larger vehicle can wait for the last arrival. Tell the desk the flights and how you would like to travel.
