LAX to Disneyland is about 33 miles (53 km) by road, roughly 45 minutes on a clear road and closer to an hour or more in Los Angeles traffic. A pre-booked car service is the simplest way to make the trip with children and luggage: the chauffeur tracks your flight, meets you inside arrivals with a name board, has child seats fitted if you asked for them, and drives you to your hotel in the Disneyland Resort area for a fixed price agreed before you travel.
Elly8.net quotes the LAX to Anaheim fare in the web booker before you pay, in a business sedan, a business SUV or an Executive Sprinter for larger families. If you have not booked flights yet, it is worth knowing that John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Orange County is much closer to Disneyland, and our published Orange County fares start at US$125.
How long is the drive from LAX to Disneyland?
The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim is about 33 miles (53 km) from LAX, roughly 45 minutes on a clear road. Visit Anaheim puts the distance at 34 miles and says the drive can take up to an hour with traffic; on weekday afternoons and Friday evenings, allow 75 to 90 minutes.
The official visitor bureau, Visit Anaheim, describes the trip from LAX as 34 miles that can take up to an hour with traffic. The chauffeur leaves the airport and heads east and south through the freeways of the South Bay and the Gateway Cities into Orange County, choosing the route on the day according to traffic.
The time of day matters more than the route. A late-morning arrival on a weekday is usually the easiest. A landing between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm on a weekday meets the afternoon peak heading out of Los Angeles, and a Friday evening is the slowest of the week. For a family that has just flown across the country, that is the moment a private car earns its price: everyone sits in one vehicle, the children are in proper seats, and nobody has to navigate.

LAX, John Wayne or Long Beach: which airport for Disneyland?
Southern California has several airports within reach of Anaheim, and the choice can save an hour each way.
| Airport | Road distance to Disneyland | Clear-road time | Fixed fare |
|---|---|---|---|
| LAX (Los Angeles International) | about 33 mi (53 km) | about 45 min | Quoted in the web booker |
| SNA (John Wayne, Orange County) | about 13 mi (21 km) | about 20 min | Quoted in the web booker; SNA to Newport Beach from US$125 |
| LGB (Long Beach) | about 20 mi (33 km) | about 30 min | Quoted in the web booker; LGB to Newport Beach from US$235 |
Visit Anaheim says John Wayne Airport gets you closest to the resort, about 13 miles and roughly 20 minutes away. If your airline flies there, the shorter ride is worth a lot at the end of a long day. Long Beach is a good second choice. LAX has the most nonstop flights, especially from overseas and from the East Coast, so for many families it is still the right airport.
Our Orange County car service page lists the published fares from SNA, LGB and LAX to Newport Beach, which give a good sense of scale: LAX to Newport Beach, about 44 miles (71 km), starts at US$315 in a business sedan, US$410 in a business SUV and US$820 in an Executive Sprinter. Anaheim is closer to LAX than Newport Beach, and the web booker quotes the exact fare to your hotel.
How the fixed fare works
Every Elly8.net fare is fixed and all-in per vehicle. It includes the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and the airport meet and greet. Tolls and parking are billed at cost, and so is waiting beyond the included time.
For LAX to the Disneyland Resort area, enter the flight number and your hotel address in the web booker. It shows the fixed price for each vehicle before you book, and that price does not change if the freeway is slow or demand is high when you land. Compare that with app rides, where the fare is set at the moment you request the car, often after a long flight and at the busiest time of the day.
Which vehicle to choose depends on the family more than the budget:
- Business sedan: up to 3 passengers and 2 large bags. Fine for a couple or a parent with one child.
- Business SUV: up to 6 passengers and 6 bags. The usual family choice, with room for car seats and a stroller.
- First Class SUV: up to 6 passengers, with a more premium vehicle for the same space.
- Executive Sprinter: up to 12 passengers and 12 bags. Grandparents, cousins and two families travelling together.
These capacities come from our fleet page. If you are bringing a large stroller, a travel cot or golf bags as well, tell the desk when you book so the right vehicle is sent.
Where your driver meets you at LAX
LAX is a loop of terminals, Terminals 1 to 8 and the Tom Bradley International Terminal, and it is in the middle of a long modernisation that Los Angeles World Airports describes on its Transforming LAX page. Taxis and app rides do not pick up at the terminal curbs: since 2019 they have used LAX-it, a separate pickup lot outside the terminal area. With children and bags, getting to LAX-it is one more step after a long flight.
A pre-booked car service avoids that step. This is how the meeting works:
- Before you land, the chauffeur tracks your flight number, so an early or late arrival moves the pickup time automatically.
- After you land, you collect your bags. For international flights, that is after immigration and customs at Tom Bradley.
- In arrivals, the chauffeur waits inside the terminal with a name board and helps with the bags.
- At the car, child seats are already fitted if you asked for them, and you are on your way.
Waiting is complimentary after a tracked landing, which covers the usual time for baggage and immigration. If customs is slow, message the 24/7 desk and the car keeps waiting. For more on the terminal process, read our guide to how car service pickups work at LAX and the airport meet and greet page.
Child seats, strollers and arriving with small children
Most Disneyland trips involve young children, and this is where planning ahead helps most.
Child seats. Available on request. When you book, add the number and type: infant, convertible or booster. The chauffeur installs them before pickup, so you are not fitting seats in a parking structure after a long flight.
Strollers. A folding stroller fits in any SUV. A large travel system, two strollers or a travel cot is a reason to choose a Sprinter, or to tell the desk so the space is planned.
The first stop. Many families ask for a stop on the way, for groceries, a pharmacy or food. Add it as a stop when you book; a multi-stop ride is priced in the booker, and the price is fixed before you pay.
Arrival at the hotel. Resort-area hotels have their own driveways and drop-off rules; the chauffeur takes you to the entrance and helps with the bags.
Car service vs shuttle vs train vs rideshare
There are other ways from LAX to Anaheim, and for some travellers they are the right choice.
| Option | Price | Time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metro rail plus train to Anaheim | US$1.75 Metro fare plus the regional train fare | The longest option, with connections | Solo travellers with light bags |
| Shared airport shuttle | Per person, varies | Longer, with stops at other hotels | One or two travellers with time |
| Uber or Lyft from LAX-it | Dynamic, set by the app | About an hour, plus the LAX-it transfer | Off-peak trips with light bags |
| Elly8.net business SUV | Fixed fare quoted in the web booker | About an hour, door to door | Families, child seats, late flights |
Rail. The Metro regular fare is US$1.75, according to LA Metro, and the LAX/Metro Transit Center links the airport area to the K Line and C Line. From there, reaching Anaheim means a connection to a regional train. Visit Anaheim's ARTIC page lists Amtrak Pacific Surfliner and Metrolink services at Anaheim's transport hub. For a solo traveller with a backpack, rail is the cheapest way. With children and luggage, the changes make it a long trip.
Shared shuttles charge per person and stop at other hotels. For one or two travellers they can be good value; for a family of five, a private car is often similar in total and much faster. See chauffeur vs shared airport shuttle.
Rideshare works if you are travelling light and the timing is off-peak, but the pickup is at LAX-it and the price moves with demand. See chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft.
Going back to LAX after Disneyland
The return trip needs more care than the arrival, because the flight will not wait. Book the departure transfer at the same time as the arrival, and plan to leave the resort area early. For a domestic flight, leaving Anaheim three to three and a half hours before departure on a weekday afternoon is sensible; for an international flight, add another hour. On a weekend morning you can leave later.
If your trip continues elsewhere in Southern California, the same booking works for every leg: Anaheim to Los Angeles hotels in Beverly Hills, about 38 miles (60 km) away, Anaheim to San Diego, or a day at the beach in Newport, about 18 miles (29 km) from the resort.
A Disneyland day from a Los Angeles hotel
Some families stay in Los Angeles and visit the parks for a day. That is a long day for a chauffeur, so it is usually booked as a full-day chauffeur, from US$775 in a business sedan, US$995 in a business SUV and US$1,550 in an Executive Sprinter, or by the hour from US$105 with a 3-hour minimum. Tolls and parking are billed at cost. If you only need a ride there in the morning and back at night, two one-way rides in the web booker are often better value than a car waiting all day.
