A Sprinter van rental in New Orleans, booked through Elly8.net, means a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter executive van with a professional chauffeur, not a self-drive van. It seats up to twelve people with room for twelve bags, and every price is fixed and all-in: Louis Armstrong New Orleans International (MSY) to the French Quarter is US$445, the round trip US$850, and the hourly rate US$190 with a three-hour minimum.
Groups use it for festival weekends, wedding guest shuttles, convention teams, bachelor and bachelorette weekends and the River Road plantations. This guide explains where a Sprinter works well in New Orleans, where it does not, and how to work out whether one van, two SUVs or a party bus is right for your group. Rides in New Orleans are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
How much does a Sprinter van with driver cost in New Orleans?
An Executive Sprinter with a chauffeur in New Orleans costs US$445 from MSY to the French Quarter, US$850 round trip, US$190 an hour with a three-hour minimum, US$950 for an evening out, US$1,050 for the six-hour River Road trip and US$1,400 for a full day, all-in for up to twelve people.
That is per vehicle, not per person, and includes the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet. Tolls, parking and time beyond the booking are billed at cost. With twelve people on board, the MSY transfer works out to about US$37 each. The full table is on the New Orleans price list.

What you are actually booking
The vehicle. An executive-configured Mercedes-Benz Sprinter: forward-facing seats, a high roof you can stand up in, and luggage space at the back. Partner vehicles booked through Elly8.net are four model years old or newer.
The chauffeur. A licensed professional who drives, waits and handles the bags. That matters in New Orleans more than most places. A large van in the French Quarter, during Carnival or outside the Superdome on game day is not a vehicle most visitors want to drive or park themselves. Our comparison of a chauffeur vs renting a car sets out the costs and trade-offs in general terms.
The alternatives on the same booking page. A Jet Sprinter, with six captain's chairs and a VIP cabin, is priced in the web booker. So are party buses and stretch limousines. The fleet page shows seats and bags for every class.

Where a Sprinter works in New Orleans, and where it does not
A Sprinter is a long, tall van, and New Orleans has some of the narrowest streets of any big US city. A good chauffeur plans around that.
The French Quarter. Many Quarter streets are narrow, one-way and closed to vehicles at busy times. A Sprinter will not try to squeeze down a blocked block of Bourbon Street. The chauffeur uses a hotel driveway or loading zone where one exists and otherwise stops at the edge of the Quarter, often on Canal Street, Decatur Street, Rampart Street or Esplanade Avenue. Groups staying in the Quarter should expect a short walk to the van.
The CBD and Warehouse District. The easiest part of the city for a Sprinter. Most convention hotels have driveways or loading areas, and the streets are wider. This is where Sprinters loop between hotels and the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
Garden District and Uptown. Residential streets, parked cars and overhanging oaks. The van works well along the main avenues and for drop-offs, with the group walking the prettiest blocks.
The Fair Grounds at Jazz Fest. Parking near the Fair Grounds Race Course in Gentilly is very limited, and the surrounding streets are crowded. We drop off and collect at agreed points on the approach roads, with a fixed return time.
Parade routes. During Carnival, the chauffeur stages the van a few blocks off the route and confirms the pickup point on the day.
River Road and out of town. Wide roads and plantation car parks. This is where the Sprinter is at its best: twelve people, one vehicle, no one driving home.
The trips a Sprinter suits best
Festival weekends. The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is usually held across two long weekends in late April and early May. Groups book the Sprinter for the MSY round trip and an hourly block each festival day, with drop-off and pickup at the same agreed points. Our concert and festival transportation page covers festival timing.
Mardi Gras. According to New Orleans & Company, the 2027 season runs from January 6 to Fat Tuesday, February 9, 2027. A Sprinter on the evening out package keeps a group together between a parade, dinner and a ball, as long as you accept a few blocks' walk around closures.
Weddings. Guests spread across several Quarter and CBD hotels, with the ceremony somewhere else, is the textbook guest-shuttle job. Book one Sprinter per twelve guests for each loop. See wedding limousine and guest shuttles.
Conventions and corporate teams. Delegates landing together at MSY, then daily loops between the hotel block and the halls, and a client dinner in the Quarter. See conference transportation and group transportation.
Game days. The streets around the Caesars Superdome fill before kickoff and after the final whistle. A Sprinter staged away from the closures, with the group walking to an agreed point, gets twelve fans home faster than five app rides.
The River Road plantations. The six-hour package in the Sprinter is US$1,050, with the chauffeur waiting during your tours. Book tour times first and send them to the desk. Public transport out to the plantations is impractical for visitors, and a group of twelve in three rental cars means three designated drivers; one Sprinter means none.
A first-day city tour for a group. The private city highlights tour, US$760 in the Sprinter, covers the Garden District, the lakefront and City Park, home of the New Orleans Museum of Art. It is a good way to orient a wedding party or a reunion on day one, before everyone scatters.
A sample Sprinter weekend for a group of twelve
Here is how a typical three-day group trip prices out on the fixed list, for a festival weekend, a reunion or a bachelor party.
| Day | Booking | Price | Per person |
|---|---|---|---|
| Friday | MSY to the French Quarter, as part of a round trip | included in US$850 | |
| Saturday | River Road plantations, 6 hours | US$1,050 | US$87.50 |
| Saturday night | Evening out and event night | US$950 | about US$79 |
| Sunday | French Quarter to MSY, return leg | included in US$850 | |
| Weekend total | US$2,850 | US$237.50 |
The round trip, US$850, covers both airport legs. For a lighter weekend, drop the River Road day and the total is US$1,800, or US$150 each. Replace the evening package with a three-hour block, US$570, if the night is a single dinner rather than a long evening.
One Sprinter, two SUVs or a party bus?
| Option | Seats | Price basis | Strengths | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One Executive Sprinter | up to 12 | US$190 an hour, fixed list | one vehicle, everyone arrives together, bags fit | narrow Quarter streets mean a short walk |
| Two Business SUVs | up to 6 each | US$120 an hour each, fixed list | flexible, fits tighter streets, groups can split | US$240 an hour combined, two pickups to coordinate |
| Party bus | up to 12 on our fleet page | web booker | lounge seating, lights, sound | larger vehicle, less luggage space |
For a group of nine to twelve with luggage, the Sprinter is almost always the right answer. For eight people who want to split up during the night, two SUVs are worth the extra. Questions to ask before booking any Sprinter
- Does the price include a driver, taxes and gratuity? Ours does. Some listings for "Sprinter rental" are self-drive vans or exclude gratuity.
- How many seats, with luggage? Twelve people and twelve standard bags fit our Executive Sprinter. Oversized items, such as instruments or golf bags, need a mention.
- When does the clock start? On Elly8.net, at your pickup time.
- What does extra time cost? Here, the hourly rate of US$190.
- Is the operator permitted? In New Orleans, the city's Ground Transportation Bureau permits and enforces vehicles and drivers operating for hire, including limousines and charter vehicles. Our partners are licensed and commercially insured.
- What is the cancellation policy? Ours: free more than 72 hours before pickup, 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, refunded to the original card.
One more practical point: give the desk a single organiser's mobile number for the whole group. On busy nights the chauffeur messages one person about the pickup corner and the timing, and that person rounds up the group. It is the simplest way to stop a twelve-seat van waiting for one missing guest at the end of the night.
On alcohol, rules differ by city and vehicle type, and your chauffeur follows local rules throughout. Our Sprinter van with driver page explains the vehicle in more detail. Groups driving on can continue to Houston or Memphis with a city to city car service.
Frequently asked questions
Is a New Orleans Sprinter van rental self-drive?
Not on Elly8.net. Every Sprinter comes with a licensed professional chauffeur, and the price includes the driver, vehicle, taxes and standard gratuity. That avoids driving and parking a large van in the French Quarter, during Carnival or on game days, and nobody in the group has to stay sober to drive.
How many people and bags fit in the Sprinter?
Up to twelve passengers and twelve standard bags in the Executive Sprinter. For oversized items such as instrument cases, strollers or golf bags, tell the desk when you book and we confirm the fit. For more than twelve people, we book two vehicles timed together.
Can the Sprinter pick us up at our French Quarter hotel?
If the hotel has a driveway or loading zone, yes. Otherwise the chauffeur stops at the nearest suitable corner on the edge of the Quarter, such as Canal Street or Esplanade Avenue, because many Quarter streets are too narrow or closed to vehicles at busy times.
How much is the Sprinter from MSY to the French Quarter?
US$445 one way and US$850 round trip, fixed and all-in, for up to twelve passengers. The same fare applies from the Quarter back to the airport. The chauffeur tracks your flight and meets the group in arrivals with a name board, with complimentary waiting after a tracked landing.
Is a Sprinter good for Jazz Fest?
Yes. Groups book the MSY round trip plus an hourly block each festival day. Parking near the Fair Grounds is very limited, so the chauffeur drops off and collects at agreed points nearby with a set return time. Jazz Fest is usually held over two long weekends in late April and early May.
Can we add stops during an hourly Sprinter booking?
Yes, within your booked hours, as long as the stop is safe and legal for a vehicle that size. Tell the chauffeur the new address. If the day runs longer than planned, extra time is billed at the hourly rate of US$190.
