A limo ride in Houston is usually booked for a night that matters: an anniversary dinner in River Oaks, a Rockets game at the Toyota Center, a show in the Theater District, a birthday crawl through Montrose or a rodeo concert at NRG Stadium. The car is the easy part. What makes the night work is a realistic plan across a city where a ten-mile trip can take ten minutes or forty, and where every big venue has its own drop-off rules.
With Elly8.net, most Houston nights out are booked as the Evening out & event night package: five hours with one vehicle and chauffeur, from US$475 in a business sedan to US$600 in a business SUV, US$775 in a First Class sedan and US$950 in an Executive Sprinter for up to 12. Stretch limousines and stretch SUV limousines are quoted for your date in the web booker. Every price is fixed and all-in, including the chauffeur, taxes and a standard gratuity.
What does a limo ride in Houston cost?
A chauffeured night out in Houston costs US$475 to US$950 for a 5-hour Evening out & event night, depending on the vehicle, or US$95 to US$190 an hour with a 3-hour minimum. A 4-hour Private city highlights tour runs US$380 to US$760. Stretch limousines are quoted for your exact date in the web booker.
Those figures come from the Houston price list on the Houston limo service page. Tolls and parking are billed at cost, and so is time beyond the booked hours. Rides in Houston are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
Choose the vehicle for the night, not just the look
The word limo covers several very different vehicles, and the right one depends on how many of you there are and how the night is shaped.
| Vehicle | Seats | Best for | Houston price |
|---|---|---|---|
| First Class sedan | up to 3 | Anniversaries, a quiet dinner for two, a show | US$155 an hour or US$775 for 5 hours |
| First Class SUV | up to 6 | Two couples, a family celebration | US$145 an hour or US$725 for 5 hours |
| Business SUV | up to 6 | A small group, value with space | US$120 an hour or US$600 for 5 hours |
| Executive Sprinter | up to 12 | Games, concerts, birthday groups | US$190 an hour or US$950 for 5 hours |
| Stretch limousine | up to 8 | The classic arrival and photographs | quoted in the web booker |
| Stretch SUV limousine | up to 16 | Big celebrations with the limo look | quoted in the web booker |
For two people, a First Class sedan is quieter, more comfortable over distance and easier to place at a busy curb than a stretch. For a group of ten heading to a game, an Executive Sprinter with forward-facing seats beats a stretch for comfort and is on the fixed price list. When the arrival itself is the point, for a wedding, a prom or a milestone birthday, the stretch earns its place. Our guide to black car vs limousine explains the trade-offs, and the limousine service page shows every class.

Where Houston nights out actually happen
Houston has no single nightlife district, which is one reason a chauffeur is so useful. A typical evening links two or three of these areas.
The Galleria and Uptown. Hotels along Post Oak Boulevard and Westheimer, steakhouses, and the Galleria itself. It is the centre of the Elly8.net price list and the start of many evenings.
River Oaks and Montrose. Close-in, residential streets with some of the city's best-known restaurants and bars. Curbside parking is tight on weekend nights, so an agreed pickup point saves time.
The Heights. A neighbourhood of its own north of I-10, with restaurants and bars a short drive from downtown. Good for a relaxed dinner before heading downtown.
Downtown and the Theater District. The Houston Theater District clusters performance halls, including the Hobby Center, within a few downtown blocks. Show nights mean a busy curb at curtain time and again at the final bow.
EaDo and the stadium side of downtown. The Toyota Center hosts the Rockets and big concerts, and Daikin Park, the Astros' ballpark, sits nearby. Game nights load the downtown exits at the same time.
NRG Park. Home to NRG Stadium and, every spring, the rodeo. More on that below.

Timing: when Houston traffic decides your night
Clear-road times are the best case, not the forecast. Three patterns shape almost every limo night in Houston.
The weekday evening peak. The Southwest Freeway, the Katy Freeway, the North Freeway and the Beltway slow heavily as offices empty. A 6:30 p.m. dinner across town on a Thursday needs a 5:30 pickup, not 6:10.
Event surges. When the Rockets, the Astros or a big concert finish at the same time, every downtown exit fills. The chauffeur stages where the venue allows and meets you at the agreed point; leaving five minutes before the end, or lingering twenty minutes after, often beats the rush.
Weather. Summer storms can flood underpasses quickly. The chauffeur will take a longer route if the shorter one is under water; the fixed price means a detour costs you nothing extra.
The practical rule: book the pickup earlier than feels necessary, and book enough hours to cover the slow parts. The 5-hour package exists because most nights out take five hours from first pickup to last drop-off.
Rodeo nights at NRG Park
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo returns March 2 to 21, 2027, and its evening rodeo-and-concert format makes it one of the busiest transport events of the Houston year. Kirby Drive and Fannin Street fill up before the show, and app pickups after the concert can mean long waits when tens of thousands of people leave at once.
A chauffeured car for rodeo night works best when:
- the group meets at one pickup point and travels together;
- the chauffeur and the organiser agree the drop-off and pickup locations in advance, following the venue's posted arrangements;
- the booking covers the full evening, usually the 5-hour package or longer.
For a group of up to 12, an Executive Sprinter at US$950 for the night works out at about US$79 a person. Rodeo weeks book up early, so reserve as soon as you have tickets. The sports event transportation and concert transportation pages explain how event nights are run.
Three Houston limo rides, planned
An anniversary in River Oaks. A First Class sedan collects you at 6 p.m. in the Galleria area, drops you for dinner, waits nearby, then takes the long way home past the downtown skyline. Five hours: US$775.
A Rockets game for eight. An Executive Sprinter collects from two homes in the Heights at 5:45 p.m., drops at the Toyota Center, waits, and collects at the agreed corner after the game. Five hours: US$950, about US$119 each for eight, or about US$79 each if you fill all 12 seats.
A birthday in Montrose for six. A business SUV for dinner and two bars, with a set pickup corner. Five hours: US$600, US$100 each, gratuity included.
How Houston regulates limousines
Houston licenses its chauffeured cars. The City's Vehicle for Hire section issues licences and permits for limousines and their drivers, and its limousine rules specifically prohibit per-capita charges: a limousine is priced for the vehicle and the time, not per passenger. The same rules require a written or electronic agreement showing the date and time of hire and the rates for the vehicle. An Elly8.net confirmation sets those out before the ride.
That is also a useful test when you compare quotes. A price per head, or a vague total without hours, is a reason to ask more questions.
House rules for a smooth night
- One organiser. One person holds the confirmation and is the contact for the chauffeur and the 24/7 desk.
- A written plan. Pickups, stops and the final drop-offs, with times. Changes on the night go through the organiser.
- Seats and belts. Book a seat for every person; passengers stay seated while the vehicle moves.
- Alcohol. Rules on alcohol in vehicles depend on the vehicle and the licence, and the chauffeur follows local rules. Do not plan the night around drinking in the vehicle.
- The vehicle is a ride, not a venue. The chauffeur can end the trip if the group puts the vehicle or other road users at risk, and damage or cleaning beyond normal use may be charged at cost by the operator.
Limo ride vs an app ride
An app ride is fine for two people going one way across town. For a night out it has three weaknesses: the price is set at the moment you request, which is often the moment everyone else is requesting too; there is no car waiting while you eat or watch the show; and a group usually needs two cars. A pre-booked chauffeur with a fixed price for the evening solves all three. For a fuller comparison, see Uber Black vs a pre-booked chauffeur.
Before and after the night out
If your evening starts at the airport, book the arrival separately as a fixed transfer; our step-by-step guide to the Houston airport transfer explains how pickups work at IAH and Hobby. If the evening is part of a longer day, a Houston private driver booked by the hour may cover both. For wedding cars, see wedding limousine.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a limo ride in Houston for a night out?
The 5-hour Evening out & event night is US$475 in a business sedan, US$600 in a business SUV, US$775 in a First Class sedan and US$950 in an Executive Sprinter for up to 12, including the chauffeur, taxes and a standard gratuity. Stretch limousines are quoted for your date in the web booker.
What is the minimum booking for a limo in Houston?
Hourly bookings on the Houston price list have a 3-hour minimum, from US$285 in a business sedan to US$570 in an Executive Sprinter. Most nights out need five hours from the first pickup to the last drop-off, which is why the Evening out & event night package is the usual choice.
Can the chauffeur wait while we are at dinner or a game?
Yes. On an hourly booking or the Evening out & event night package, the vehicle and chauffeur stay with you for the booked time. At big venues the chauffeur stages where the venue allows and meets you at an agreed pickup point after the event.
Is a stretch limousine or a Sprinter better for a group?
For up to 12 people, an Executive Sprinter offers forward-facing belted seats, more headroom and room for bags, at a fixed price. A stretch limousine (up to 8) or stretch SUV limousine (up to 16) gives the classic look for photographs and special arrivals. Many groups choose by the occasion.
How early should we book for the rodeo or a big concert?
As soon as you have tickets. The 2027 rodeo runs March 2 to 21, and rodeo, playoff and big concert nights book up early. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup, so an early booking carries no cost if plans change well ahead.
Are tolls and parking included?
Tolls and parking are billed at cost and shown separately; everything else, including the chauffeur, taxes and a standard gratuity, is in the fixed price. Event parking or staging fees, where a venue charges them, are passed through at cost.
