A private driver in Denver is a chauffeur and a vehicle that stay with you for a set number of hours, or for one planned trip, at a price agreed before you start. On Elly8.net that starts at US$95 an hour in a Business Sedan and runs to US$190 an hour in a 12-seat Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum, fixed and all-in. A full day with one chauffeur runs from US$700 to US$1,400 depending on the vehicle.

What makes a driver worth it here is distance rather than gridlock. The airport is about 25 miles (40 km) from LoDo, Red Rocks is out in Morrison, Boulder is its own city, and the mountains start an hour west. A car that waits outside each stop turns four separate rides, four pickup zones and four price checks into one booking. Rides in Denver are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.

How much does a private driver cost in Denver?

An Elly8.net private driver in Denver costs US$95 an hour in a Business Sedan, US$120 in a Business SUV, US$145 in a First Class SUV, US$155 in a First Class Sedan and US$190 in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum. Taxes, standard gratuity and the chauffeur are included; tolls and parking are billed at cost.

Hourly is not the only way to book a driver. If your day has a shape, a package is often cheaper than counting hours. The private city highlights tour runs from US$380 in a Business Sedan to US$760 in an Executive Sprinter. The evening out and event night package, built for dinners, concerts and game nights, runs from US$475 to US$950. The full-day chauffeur runs from US$700 to US$1,400, and the 6-hour Red Rocks and Rocky Mountain foothills day trip from US$525 to US$1,050. Every one of them is listed on the Denver fares panel with a Reserve now button.

The rule of thumb on our desk: if you know exactly where you are going and roughly when, pick the package that matches. If the plan is loose, book hours and add a buffer: time beyond what you reserved is billed on top, so booking an extra hour at the start is usually tidier than running over at the end.

Neighbourhoods, and where the car actually waits

Denver is spread out, and the practical question for a private driver is less "can we get there" than "where does the car sit while you are inside". A few patterns repeat.

LoDo and Union Station. This is the centre of gravity for visitors: hotels, restaurants, the ballpark and the station where the A Line arrives from the airport. Streets are a grid, curb space is tight on weekend evenings, and the chauffeur usually drops you at the door and holds a block or two away until you message. Ask for the pickup to be at a named corner rather than "outside", especially around Coors Field on game days.

LoHi, the Highlands and RiNo. Across the river to the northwest and up to the northeast of downtown, these are dinner-and-drinks districts with smaller streets and brewery crowds. The car works well as a shuttle between them, since parking is the hardest part of a night here.

Cherry Creek. The shopping and hotel district southeast of downtown is a natural stop on a mixed day: a meeting, lunch, a few hours of shopping. Hotel driveways make pickups easy; retail streets less so, so agree a meeting point.

The Golden Triangle. The Denver Art Museum anchors the museum district just south of Civic Center, and the private city highlights tour usually takes it in along with downtown and a foothills viewpoint.

The Denver Tech Center. Along I-25 to the south, the Tech Center is offices and hotels rather than sights. Business travellers often split a day between the Tech Center and downtown, which is where a driver saves the most time, because the two are far enough apart that one taxi each way plus waiting is a lot of friction.

Boulder and Golden. Boulder, northwest on US-36, and Golden, west at the foot of the hills, are separate towns with their own campuses and breweries. They are exactly the kind of stop that justifies hourly service: a one-way ride out is easy to find, the ride back at the right moment is not.

When Denver traffic bites

Denver traffic is predictable more than it is constant. Plan around four things.

Weekday commute hours. I-25 through the city and the routes to the Tech Center slow down on weekday mornings and late afternoons. A trip that is 20 minutes at 11 a.m. can be twice that at 5 p.m. The chauffeur builds this in, but a meeting at 8:30 a.m. in the Tech Center from a LoDo hotel needs an earlier start than the map suggests.

Game and concert nights. Ball Arena, Coors Field and Empower Field at Mile High all sit on the western side of downtown, and when two of them have events on the same night the surrounding streets are slow for an hour either side. Drop-off and pickup points agreed in advance make these nights work.

Convention weeks. The Colorado Convention Center is at 700 14th Street, and big shows fill downtown hotels and their driveways. The centre also notes that RTD suspended the D, H and L light rail lines from June 7, 2026 as part of the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project, expected to continue through the first quarter of 2027, so expect more cars around downtown stations while the work runs.

Mountain weekends. I-70 west of the city carries the ski and hiking traffic. The I-70 Coalition's GoI70 site publishes a weekend travel forecast every Thursday and notes that Floyd Hill is where westbound traffic backs up as three lanes become two. If your private-driver day includes the mountains, leave earlier than you think on a Saturday and come back earlier than you want on a Sunday.

Most Denver driver bookings fall into a handful of shapes. The prices below are the fixed Elly8.net prices; any address that is not on the list is quoted by the web booker and fixed when you reserve.

The airport run, with a stop. Denver International (DEN) to LoDo and Union Station is a fixed transfer from US$225 in a Business Sedan to US$585 in an Executive Sprinter, in either direction. If you want to stop at the office, drop a colleague in Cherry Creek or pick up a key on the way, book it as a multi-stop transfer or a short hourly booking. Our airport transfers page explains how pickups work, and Denver to DIA by private car walks through departure timing.

Downtown to Red Rocks and back. Red Rocks Amphitheatre is in Morrison, west of the city, and has specific rules for where limousines drop off and where everyone is picked up after the show. The evening out package covers the drive, the wait and the ride home. We cover the venue's lots in our Red Rocks guide.

A foothills and Golden day. The 6-hour Red Rocks and Rocky Mountain foothills day trip pairs the park in daylight with Golden. It suits visitors who want the scenery without driving mountain roads in a rental.

Rocky Mountain National Park. The park is a long day from Denver, and the National Park Service uses timed-entry permits in summer, so the permit time sets the departure time. A full-day chauffeur, from US$700 in a Business Sedan, keeps the car and driver with you from the hotel door to the trailhead and back.

The mountain resorts. For a one-way transfer to Vail or Aspen, use the fixed fares on the Vail car service and Aspen car service pages rather than hourly service. For Breckenridge, see Denver airport to Breck: shuttle vs private car.

Which vehicle fits which trip

The vehicle is the second-biggest decision after the hours, and Denver's luggage profile is unusual: ski bags, golf bags, boot bags and conference crates all show up. Capacities below are from the Elly8.net fleet page.

VehiclePassengersBagsHourly in DenverTypical Denver use
Business Sedanup to 32US$95one or two people, meetings, dinners
First Class Sedanup to 32US$155executives, special occasions
Business SUVup to 66US$120families, ski bags, winter days
First Class SUVup to 66US$145VIP arrivals, roadshows with luggage
Executive Sprinterup to 1212US$190teams, groups, wedding parties

Two Denver-specific notes. First, if the day touches I-70 between September and May, book an SUV or a Sprinter; Colorado's Traction Law applies on the corridor from Morrison to Dotsero in that season, and partner vehicles on mountain runs are equipped for it. Second, four adults with checked bags will not fit comfortably in a sedan; the Business SUV is only US$25 an hour more and avoids the problem.

Booking tips that save money and time

Give the whole plan up front. List every stop, even rough ones. The desk can tell you whether hours or a package is cheaper, and the chauffeur can plan the order of stops around traffic rather than the order you happened to type them.

Add your flight number for any airport leg. Flights are tracked, the chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim with a name board, and complimentary waiting after a tracked landing means a late inbound does not eat into your hourly time.

Ask for child seats when you book. They are available on request; add each child's age and weight so the right seat is fitted.

Use a corporate account for repeat travel. Monthly invoicing and saved traveller profiles are on corporate accounts, and the hourly chauffeur page explains how as-directed time is counted.

Know the cancellation terms. Free more than 72 hours before pickup; 10% at 72 hours or less; 50% at 48 hours or less; 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show. Refunds go back to the original card.

When you do not need a private driver

Be honest with yourself about the day. If you are one person staying in LoDo with a carry-on, the A Line from the airport and a walk or a short rideshare around downtown is cheaper, and we would say so. A rental car is cheaper still if you are comfortable with mountain driving and parking. The chauffeur vs renting a car comparison sets out where each one wins. A private driver makes sense when the day has several stops far apart, when there are more than two of you, when the evening ends somewhere you should not be driving from, or when the time saved is worth more than the difference.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum booking for a private driver in Denver?

Three hours on the hourly price list, from US$95 an hour in a Business Sedan. Fixed transfers, such as DEN to LoDo from US$225, have no hourly minimum because they are priced as one trip. Packages like the evening out and the full-day chauffeur are priced as a block.

How many hours should a booking cover?

Count from the pickup time at your first address to the moment you expect the last drop-off, then add a buffer for traffic and for the stop that always runs long. The price you see at booking covers the hours you reserve; time beyond that is billed on top, and tolls and parking are billed at cost.

Can a private driver take us to Boulder or Golden?

Yes. Both are common stops on hourly and full-day bookings. If it is a single one-way ride, enter the address in the web booker for a fixed point-to-point price instead, which is often cheaper than three hours.

Is gratuity included in the price?

Yes. The standard gratuity is included in every Elly8.net price, along with taxes and the chauffeur. You are welcome to add more for exceptional service, but it is not expected. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are the only items billed at cost.

Can we book a driver for a mountain day in winter?

Yes, in an SUV or Sprinter. The I-70 Traction Law applies from September 1 to May 31 between Morrison and Dotsero, and the desk watches road conditions before and during the trip. If the interstate closes, the price for the booked time stays fixed and the chauffeur waits safely or diverts on the desk's advice.

Who is the driver?

Rides in Denver are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, and the chauffeur's name and phone number arrive before pickup.
