The 2027 Ryder Cup comes to Ireland from 13 to 19 September 2027, at The Golf Course at Adare Manor in County Limerick, the first time the venue has hosted the biennial match between Europe and the United States. The week opens with three practice days and closes with three days of match play, and almost everyone who attends has to cross Ireland to reach a village of a few streets in the south-west.
Elly8.net plans Ryder Cup ground transport from Dublin, the nearest city on our network, about 212 km (132 mi) from Adare on our routing. That distance shapes everything: a Dublin hotel is a long day out, the last leg into the course runs on the organiser's park and ride and rail shuttles, and the most useful car is often the one that takes you across the country, waits, and brings you back for dinner. Prices on our Dublin list are fixed and all-in, and they do not change for Ryder Cup week.
How do you get to the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor?
By the official park and ride or rail shuttles. Ryder Cup Europe states there is no parking on site, and spectators reach the course from pre-booked park and ride sites around Adare or by train via Limerick Junction and Limerick Colbert stations. A chauffeur covers the rest: the airport, the drive to the park and ride or station, and the evenings.
The organiser's transport page sets out the options. Park and ride sites are spread around Adare, with a charge and pre-booking, and further details go to ticket holders. Shuttle buses from the park and ride areas take about 20 to 30 minutes from the East area and 10 to 20 minutes from the West area. By rail, a "Train and Walk" service runs a shuttle train from Limerick Junction to a temporary Adare Manor station in about 45 minutes, followed by a short walk, and "Train and Ride" links Limerick Colbert station with the course by shuttle bus in roughly 35 to 40 minutes.
Ryder Cup Europe's published drive times to the park and ride areas are 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours from Dublin, 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours from Cork or Galway, 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes from Killarney and 4 to 5 hours from Belfast. Those are the numbers to plan around, not the clear-road figures.
Ryder Cup 2027 week at a glance
The schedule of the week splits Ryder Cup week into practice days and match days. Gate times, fan villages and other details are still to be announced.
| Day | Date | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Tuesday | 14 September 2027 | Practice day, SuperValu Community Day |
| Wednesday | 15 September 2027 | Practice day, All Star Match |
| Thursday | 16 September 2027 | Practice day, final round of the Junior Ryder Cup, Opening Ceremony |
| Friday | 17 September 2027 | Match day one |
| Saturday | 18 September 2027 | Match day two |
| Sunday | 19 September 2027 | Match day three, final singles |
The format is five match-play sessions over three days. That matters for transport: match days start early, finish late, and send the whole crowd towards the park and ride sites and stations at the same moment when the last match ends. Check the official 2027 page for ticketing and updates before you lock your plans.
Which airport for the Ryder Cup: Dublin, Shannon, Cork or Kerry
Ryder Cup Europe lists four main airports for Adare Manor: Dublin, Shannon, Kerry and Cork. They suit different travellers.
| Airport | Road distance to Adare (Elly8.net routing) | Clear-road drive | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shannon (SNN) | about 43 km (27 mi) | about 40 min | Transatlantic arrivals and guests staying in Limerick and Clare |
| Cork (ORK) | about 100 km (62 mi) | about 1 h 30 min | Guests staying in Cork and the south |
| Dublin (DUB) | about 219 km (136 mi) | about 2 h 25 min | Most international flights; guests combining the week with Dublin |
| Kerry (KIR) | about 80 km (49 mi) | about 1 h 15 min | Guests staying around Killarney and the Kerry coast |
Shannon Airport is the closest to the course and a natural choice for travellers from North America. Dublin Airport has the widest choice of flights, and our fixed prices start there: a transfer from Dublin Airport to St Stephen's Green is US$120 in a business sedan, US$160 in a business SUV and US$315 in an Executive Sprinter, all-in per vehicle, with round trips from US$230. The airport is about 17 km (10 mi) from St Stephen's Green, roughly 26 minutes on a clear road.
For any journey that is not on the Dublin price list, including Dublin Airport to a hotel in County Limerick, Shannon Airport to Adare or Cork to Killarney, the web booker quotes the trip before you pay. Chauffeurs track your flight and meet you inside arrivals with a name board, with complimentary waiting after a tracked landing; see airport transfers. Guests arriving by private aircraft are met at the FBO named in the booking; see private jet and FBO transfers.
The plan: staying in Dublin, Limerick or Kerry
Staying in Dublin. The city has the hotel capacity and the restaurants, but it is a long round trip. A practical pattern is the train for the course days, with a car to and from Dublin Heuston station: Ryder Cup Europe gives about 1 hour 30 minutes by rail from Dublin Heuston to Limerick Junction, then the shuttle train into the course. If you prefer the road, book a car for the whole day: the full-day chauffeur in Dublin (8 hours) is from US$630 in a business sedan to US$1,255 in an Executive Sprinter, and the 10-hour roadshow day from US$765 to US$1,530. Tell the desk which park and ride site your ticket names, and the chauffeur plans the drive to it. For the long-distance leg, see city-to-city car service.
Staying near Limerick, Shannon or in Clare. This is the shortest daily commute and the most popular choice for hospitality guests. Book the airport leg and the evenings by car, and use the official park and ride for the course itself. The web booker prices local journeys in the region.
Staying in Kerry or Cork. Killarney and Cork both have strong hotel stock and published drive times of under two and a half hours to the park and ride. A car each morning and evening, with the official shuttle for the last few kilometres, removes the stress of finding the right site at dawn.
Evenings. Ryder Cup week has dinners, team hospitality and private events every night. A chauffeur for the evening out and event night package (5 hours) is from US$425 in a business sedan to US$850 in an Executive Sprinter on the Dublin list; for events in the west, the web booker quotes the evening. The chauffeur follows local rules on drinks in vehicles.
Groups, corporate hosts and golf travel companies
Golf groups travel with clubs, rain gear and luggage, and they want to arrive together. An Executive Sprinter from Dublin Airport to St Stephen's Green is US$315 per vehicle and US$170 per hour in town. For a group of twelve with bags, two vehicles are often better than one, and the desk books them under one reference. See group transportation, sports event transportation and the Sprinter van with driver page.
Companies hosting clients during the week can put every journey on one corporate account with monthly invoicing, and golf tour operators and travel agents can book for clients through travel-agent accounts. Guests who want a quiet, discreet car can ask for an NDA; Elly8.net provides transportation, not security.
Rail, shuttles, taxis or a chauffeur: an honest comparison
For most spectators the official rail and park and ride services are the right way onto the course, and nothing a car can do will beat them for the final few kilometres when there is no parking on site.
| Option | Cost | Best for | Weak point |
|---|---|---|---|
| Official park and ride | Charged, pre-booked through the organiser | Spectators driving themselves or arriving by car | You still need to reach the park and ride site; departures crowd at close of play |
| Train and Walk via Limerick Junction | Rail fare plus shuttle train | Guests staying in Dublin or Cork | Fixed timings; changes needed from most cities |
| Train and Ride via Limerick Colbert | Rail fare plus shuttle bus | Guests staying in Limerick or Galway | Shuttle queues at close of play |
| Taxi or app ride | Metered or app price | Short local hops | Limited supply in a rural area during an event week |
| Elly8.net chauffeur | Dublin airport transfer from US$120; hourly from US$85 | Airport legs, the drive to the park and ride or station, evenings, groups | Long-distance legs are quoted in the web booker; book early |
Rail times and connections are on Irish Rail. A pre-booked car earns its place at the edges of the day: a 6 a.m. drive to the park and ride with clubs and children, a transfer from Shannon after a night flight, a client dinner in the evening, and a return to the airport on Monday morning when thousands of fans are leaving at once. For the general comparisons, see chauffeur vs taxi and chauffeur vs renting a car.
Before and after the Ryder Cup
Many North American visitors build a longer trip around the week. From Dublin, the signature Powerscourt and Wicklow Mountains day trip (6 hours) is from US$470 in a business sedan to US$940 in an Executive Sprinter, and the private city highlights tour from US$340. Elly8.net also covers London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam for travellers continuing in Europe. Flights and hotels can be arranged through our travel partner BookingWorldwide.net; Elly8.net books the car only.

Frequently asked questions
Can a chauffeur drive me to the gate at Adare Manor?
Plan on the official services for the last leg. Ryder Cup Europe states there is no parking on site and directs spectators to park and ride and rail shuttles. A chauffeur takes you to the park and ride site or the station named on your ticket and collects you there afterwards. Hospitality guests should follow the access instructions in their package.
How long is the drive from Dublin to Adare?
About 212 km (132 mi) from St Stephen's Green on our routing. Ryder Cup Europe's own estimate is 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours from Dublin to the park and ride areas during the event, so plan around that rather than a clear-road time.
How much is a car from Dublin Airport?
A transfer from Dublin Airport to St Stephen's Green is US$120 in a business sedan, US$160 in a business SUV and US$315 in an Executive Sprinter, all-in per vehicle. Longer journeys, such as Dublin Airport to County Limerick, are quoted in the web booker before you pay.
Is Shannon a better airport for the Ryder Cup?
For many travellers, yes. Shannon is about 43 km (27 mi) from Adare on our routing, much closer than Dublin, and has transatlantic routes. Dublin offers more flight choice and hotel capacity. The desk books cars from either.
When should I book Ryder Cup transportation?
As early as possible. Chauffeured vehicles in the region are limited and the event week will be heavily booked. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, refunded to the original card.
Can you carry golf clubs and luggage for a group?
Yes. Tell the desk how many travellers, bags and club cases you have, and we recommend the right vehicles, often an Executive Sprinter or two business SUVs. Several vehicles can be booked under one reference and invoiced monthly on a corporate account.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes, on request at the time of booking. Give the desk the ages of the children so the right seats are fitted.
