An Austin party bus keeps a group together for a birthday, a game day, a concert or a night on Rainey Street, with one chauffeur who drops you at each door and waits. On Elly8.net, the fixed-price group vehicle is a 12-seat Executive Sprinter: US$950 for a five-hour Evening out & event night, or US$190 an hour with a three-hour minimum, all-in. A party bus or stretch SUV limousine is priced in the web booker for your date, hours and stops.
Most surprises with party vehicles come from three gaps: the vehicle is smaller than the photos suggested, the price leaves something out, or the plan did not account for Austin's street closures. This guide closes all three. Rides in Austin are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
How much does a party bus cost in Austin?
On Elly8.net, a five-hour Evening out & event night in Austin costs US$950 in a 12-seat Executive Sprinter, US$600 in a six-seat business SUV and US$725 in a First Class SUV, fixed and all-in. Hourly, the Sprinter is US$190 with a three-hour minimum. Party buses and stretch SUV limousines are quoted in the web booker.
Those prices include the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes and a standard gratuity. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. Because the price is per vehicle, the cost per guest drops as the group grows: twelve people sharing the US$950 Sprinter evening pay about US$79 each, and six sharing the US$600 business SUV evening pay US$100 each.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Five-hour evening | By the hour (3-hour minimum) | Per guest, full vehicle |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business SUV | up to 6 | US$600 | US$120 | US$100 |
| First Class SUV | up to 6 | US$725 | US$145 | about US$121 |
| Executive Sprinter | up to 12 | US$950 | US$190 | about US$79 |
| Stretch limousine | up to 8 | priced in the web booker | priced in the web booker | depends on the quote |
| Party bus | around 12, varies by vehicle | priced in the web booker | priced in the web booker | depends on the quote |
| Stretch SUV limousine | up to 16 | priced in the web booker | priced in the web booker | depends on the quote |
The fixed prices are on the Austin price panel, where you can reserve straight away. Anything not on the list goes through the web booker, which shows the all-in number before you pay.
Sizes: what "party bus" really means
"Party bus" is a loose term. It can describe a converted coach with perimeter seating and a dance floor, a smaller limo bus, a stretch SUV limousine or simply a large van. Our fleet lists a party bus at around 12 passengers and a stretch SUV limousine at up to 16, but sizes vary from vehicle to vehicle, which is why they are quoted rather than fixed.
Use the headcount, not the photos, to choose.
Up to 6. A business SUV or First Class SUV. It goes anywhere, fits into hotel driveways and attracts less attention outside a quiet restaurant. For a small birthday dinner and a show, it is usually the right answer.
7 to 8. A stretch limousine if the look is the point, or an Executive Sprinter if comfort, headroom and bags matter more. The Sprinter also has room to spare.
9 to 12. The Executive Sprinter: forward-facing leather seats, standing headroom, and a fixed price you can split on the spot. A party bus at around 12 seats is the alternative if the group wants the lounge layout. Our Sprinter van with driver page shows the cabin.
13 to 16. A stretch SUV limousine, a larger party bus, or two vehicles. Two vehicles cost more but let the group split later in the night.
Over 16. Talk to the desk. Large groups often combine a bus for the main event with SUVs for the airport and the rest of the weekend; see group transportation.
One rule that applies to every size: the seat count is the legal maximum, not a target. Plan for everyone to have a seat belt and a seat.
The Austin occasions that drive party bus bookings
Birthdays and nights out. The classic route runs downtown, Rainey Street and East Austin. Visit Austin's Sixth Street guide notes that the street is closed to through traffic Thursday through Saturday nights, so drop-offs happen at a cross street. Rainey Street, on the edge of downtown by Lady Bird Lake, is narrow and full of patios on weekend evenings; the chauffeur drops you at the end of the street and waits nearby.
Concerts. The Moody Center on the UT campus hosts arena tours, and the city's bigger venues and outdoor stages fill through the warm months. An evening package covers dinner, the show and the ride home without anyone driving. See concert transportation.
ACL Festival. ACL Festival fills Zilker Park over two weekends, usually in early October, with road closures and restricted access around the park. A party vehicle cannot drive to the gate, but it can drop off and collect the group at an agreed point, which is far easier than twelve people trying to match app rides at midnight.
Game days. Texas football Saturdays, matches at Q2 Stadium and race weekends at Circuit of The Americas all generate group bookings. On race days the chauffeur follows the circuit's published drop-off and pickup arrangements. Our sports event transportation page explains how stadium exits are handled.
Bachelor and bachelorette weekends. Austin draws a steady stream of them, and they have their own planning needs. We cover routes and house rules in our Austin bachelorette party bus guide.
Weddings. Guest shuttles and wedding-party transport are a separate exercise in timing; see the Austin wedding limo guide.
Planning timeline
Six to ten weeks out. Check the date against Austin's calendar. SXSW 2027 runs March 15 to 21, Circuit of The Americas lists NASCAR on March 5 to 7 and MotoGP on April 23 to 25, 2027, and ACL usually takes the first two weekends of October. Large vehicles book out first on those dates.
Four to six weeks out. Fix the headcount band (6, 12 or 16) and reserve. A fixed Sprinter or SUV booking takes a few minutes from the price list. A party bus or stretch SUV quote comes from the web booker with the price shown before you pay.
Two weeks out. Send the desk the stop list and any reservation times. Dinner and show times set the pickup, and the chauffeur needs them to plan around closures.
The day before. Confirm the final headcount, the pickup entrance and one or two contact numbers in the group. The chauffeur's name and contact arrive by email before pickup.
On the night. Keep to the plan's main stops. If the night may run long, book the extra hours up front; waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost.
The questions to ask before you pay
Ask these of any operator, and get the answers in writing.
What exactly is included? With Elly8.net, the price includes the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes and a standard gratuity. Tolls, parking and extra waiting are billed at cost. If another quote leaves out gratuity or fees, add them before you compare.
How many seats, with seat belts? Ask for the passenger count of the actual vehicle, not the model family.
How old is the vehicle? Elly8.net partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, seven for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley.
Is the operator licensed and insured? Every Elly8.net ride in Austin is run by a licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partner vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network.
What are the rules on board? Rules on food, drink, decorations and music vary by vehicle and by local law. The chauffeur follows local rules, including on alcohol, and the group should expect to follow the chauffeur's instructions. Ask about the vehicle's own rules when you book rather than on the night.
What does cancelling cost? Elly8.net's terms are the same everywhere: free more than 72 hours before pickup, 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, refunded to the original card. Terms differ between operators, and some ask for non-refundable deposits, so compare the terms as well as the price.
What happens if the vehicle has a problem? Ask who you call. With Elly8.net it is the 24/7 desk.
Party bus, Sprinter or two SUVs: an honest comparison
Each option has a real advantage, and the right one depends on what the group values most.
A party bus wins on atmosphere. The lounge seating, lighting and open floor make the vehicle part of the event, which suits a milestone birthday where the ride itself is the point. The trade-offs are size and access: larger vehicles are harder to bring into hotel driveways and narrow streets like Rainey, and the quote varies with the vehicle and the date.
An Executive Sprinter wins on practicality. It has standing headroom, forward-facing seats with belts, space for bags and shopping, and a fixed price you can see before booking. It is also the vehicle most groups want for the airport, so one booking can cover arrival day and the big night.
Two SUVs win on flexibility. At US$600 each for a five-hour evening, two business SUVs cost more than one Sprinter, but they let a group of ten or twelve split later, with half heading back to the hotel at midnight and half staying out. They also fit into any driveway in the city.
If the group cannot agree, the Sprinter is the safe middle choice: big enough to keep everyone together, small enough to go everywhere.
Making the cost work per guest
The cleanest way to keep a group happy is to agree the per-head figure before anyone commits. A few examples using fixed prices:
| Plan | Vehicle | Total, all-in | Per guest |
|---|---|---|---|
| Five-hour birthday night, 12 guests | Executive Sprinter evening | US$950 | about US$79 |
| Three-hour concert night, 6 guests | Business SUV, 3 hours | US$360 | US$60 |
| Four-hour game day, 10 guests | Executive Sprinter, 4 hours | US$760 | US$76 |
| Hill Country winery day, 12 guests | Executive Sprinter, 10 hours | US$1,750 | about US$146 |
The Hill Country day is worth knowing about for groups who want a daytime event: ten hours to Fredericksburg and back, with the chauffeur waiting at each winery. Tastings happen at the wineries, not in the vehicle. See wine tours and Visit Fredericksburg for tasting rooms.
If the group is flying in, the same Sprinter can do the airport run: AUS to downtown is US$315 for up to twelve people and twelve bags, about US$26 each, with meet and greet inside the Barbara Jordan Terminal.

Frequently asked questions
How many people fit in an Austin party bus?
It depends on the vehicle. Our fleet lists a party bus at around 12 passengers and a stretch SUV limousine at up to 16, with sizes varying by vehicle. The fixed-price Executive Sprinter seats up to 12. Always book by the actual seat count, and give the desk the final headcount.
What is the cheapest way to move 12 people around Austin for a night?
The Executive Sprinter Evening out & event night: US$950 for five hours, fixed and all-in, about US$79 a person for twelve. Hourly, it is US$190 with a three-hour minimum, so a three-hour night is US$570, under US$50 a person.
Can the bus drop us on Sixth Street?
Sixth Street is closed to through traffic Thursday through Saturday nights, so the chauffeur drops off and collects at a nearby cross street. The desk and the chauffeur agree the pickup corner before the night begins, so the group is not searching for the vehicle at closing time.
Is drinking allowed on a party bus in Austin?
Rules depend on the vehicle and on local law, and the chauffeur follows local rules, including on alcohol. Ask about the vehicle's own policy when you book. Plan the evening so that drinking happens at the venues, and the vehicle's job is to get everyone between them safely.
How far ahead should we book?
Four to six weeks for most weekends, and as soon as dates are set for SXSW, ACL, race weekends and big game days, when large vehicles book out first. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup, so an early booking costs nothing if plans change in time.
Can the same vehicle pick us up from the airport?
Yes. AUS to downtown in an Executive Sprinter is US$315 for up to twelve passengers and twelve bags, with flight tracking and meet and greet inside the terminal. Airport fares are the same in either direction, so the group's departure can be booked the same way.
