A Philadelphia wedding limo plan depends less on how many guests you invite and more on where the day happens. A ceremony in Old City and a reception in a Rittenhouse ballroom need a different car plan from a Main Line estate wedding or a portrait session out at Longwood Gardens. On Elly8.net a five-hour Philadelphia block, our evening out and event night package, starts at US$475 in a business sedan and reaches US$950 in a 12-seat Executive Sprinter, fixed and all-in.
This guide sorts Philadelphia weddings into three common layouts, prices each one from the published list, and flags the dates and contract questions that catch couples out. Rides in Philadelphia are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
How many wedding cars does a Philadelphia wedding need?
Most Philadelphia weddings need two to four vehicles: one car for the couple, a Sprinter or SUV for the wedding party, often a sedan for parents, and a guest shuttle only when the ceremony and reception are in different places or guests are staying at one hotel block. Count the people who must move together, not the guest list.
The quickest way to size the plan is to list every moment when people change location: the getting-ready suite to the ceremony, the ceremony to photos, photos to the reception, and the reception back to the hotel. For each move, ask who must arrive together and who can make their own way. Guests who are driving themselves do not need a seat. Grandparents who are not, and a wedding party of ten in formal clothes, do.
Vehicle sizes on the price list are simple. A business or First Class sedan seats up to 3 with 2 bags, a business or First Class SUV up to 6, and the Executive Sprinter up to 12. Stretch limousines, stretch SUV limousines and Rolls-Royce cars can be requested through the web booker, which prices them for your date, rather than on the fixed list. Our black car vs limousine guide explains when a stretch is worth it and when a sedan photographs just as well.
| Who travels | Typical size | Vehicle | Five-hour block | Eight-hour full day |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The couple | 2 | First Class Sedan | US$775 | US$1,145 |
| The couple, simpler | 2 | Business Sedan | US$475 | US$700 |
| Small wedding party | up to 6 | Business SUV or First Class SUV | US$600 or US$725 | US$885 or US$1,070 |
| Full wedding party | 7 to 12 | Executive Sprinter | US$950 | US$1,400 |
| Parents and grandparents | 3 to 6 | Business Sedan or SUV | US$475 or US$600 | US$700 or US$885 |
| Guest shuttle | 12 per run | Executive Sprinter, by the hour | US$190 an hour, 3-hour minimum |
Every figure is per vehicle and includes the chauffeur, taxes and standard gratuity. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the booked time are billed at cost. If your day is shorter or oddly shaped, hourly chauffeur service runs from US$95 an hour in a business sedan to US$190 an hour in the Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum and up to 12 hours.

Layout one: Center City hotel, Old City ceremony, ballroom reception
This is the most common Philadelphia pattern, and it is compact. Everyone dresses at a Rittenhouse or Market Street hotel, the ceremony is at a church or historic hall in Old City or Society Hill, photos happen around Independence Mall, Elfreth's Alley or the Parkway, and the reception is back in a Center City ballroom.
Distances are short, so the risk is not mileage but streets. Old City lanes are narrow, many are one way, and a Saturday afternoon brings tour groups to the blocks around Independence Hall. Your chauffeur needs a precise drop point for each stop, not just a venue name, and the photographer needs to know the car will wait a block away rather than at the door.
A typical plan for 120 guests:
- Couple: First Class Sedan, five-hour block, US$775.
- Wedding party of 10: Executive Sprinter, five-hour block, US$950.
- Parents: Business SUV for the ceremony and photos, five-hour block, US$600.
Total: US$2,325 for three vehicles that stay with you from the first pickup to the reception entrance. Most guests walk or take a short taxi between Center City hotels and venues, so no shuttle is needed. If the reception ends late and the hotel block is across town, add a Sprinter by the hour for the last loop.
Layout two: Main Line, Bucks County or a suburban estate
When the ceremony or reception is outside the city, the plan changes. Guests may stay in Center City and need a ride out and back, and the couple's car will spend more of the day on the road. Plan on the eight-hour full-day chauffeur rather than the five-hour block for the couple and the wedding party: it runs from US$700 in a business sedan to US$1,400 in the Sprinter, about 8% below the hourly rate.
For guests, the shuttle question is a numbers game. One Sprinter carries 12. A guest block of 40 at a Center City hotel needs either several runs with one van or two or three vans running together. Multiple runs are cheaper but stretch the arrival over an hour or more; parallel vans get everyone there for the ceremony start. We usually suggest two Sprinters timed to arrive 30 minutes before the ceremony, then staged for the return. At US$190 an hour each with a 3-hour minimum per van, a split return with an early and a late departure suits most receptions. Our group transportation page covers multi-vehicle timing in more detail.
Estate venues often have one gravel drive and limited turning room. Ask the venue for its vehicle rules before you book a stretch limousine, which needs more room to turn than a Sprinter or SUV.
Layout three: Longwood Gardens and Brandywine Valley portraits
Some couples build the day around portraits in the Brandywine Valley, and Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square is the best-known setting. Longwood requires a paid photography session for visits that are mainly for posed portraits, and it names weddings among the occasions that need one; it lists a 120-minute wedding photography experience, with gardens admission bought separately. Book that slot first, because it fixes the shape of the whole day.
Our Brandywine Valley and Longwood Gardens package is eight hours, from US$700 in a business sedan to US$1,400 in the Executive Sprinter. That is enough time for a Center City pickup, the drive out, the session, a lunch or toast stop in the valley and the return to an evening reception. If the reception is also in the valley, book the package one way for the wedding party and a separate evening car for the couple.
Philadelphia dates that clash with weddings
Philadelphia has a busy calendar, and a few events change wedding logistics more than couples expect:
- Eagles home games. The South Philadelphia sports complex, home of Lincoln Financial Field, Citizens Bank Park and Xfinity Mobile Arena, empties onto Broad Street, Pattison Avenue and I-95. A Sunday wedding that crosses South Philadelphia, or uses PHL for out-of-town family, needs extra time when there is a home game.
- The Philadelphia Flower Show in March. It fills the Pennsylvania Convention Center and the hotels around Market East. Book hotel blocks and cars early that week.
- Commencement season in May. University City graduations fill hotels and SUVs on the same spring weekends many couples want.
- The Philadelphia Marathon in November. Course closures cut across Center City and the Parkway, so routes and pickup points must be planned around them.
Spring and autumn Saturdays are the busiest wedding days across the region, and Sprinters and First Class sedans are the first vehicles to go. Once the venue and date are signed, book the cars. If the date might still move, remember the cancellation terms below and talk to the desk about changing the booking instead of cancelling it.
When to book, and in what order
A simple sequence avoids most problems:
- Venues and date first. The car plan follows from them.
- Portrait or photo slot second, especially for Longwood, because its timing drives the couple's car.
- Core vehicles third: the couple, the wedding party, the parents. Book these as soon as the date is fixed.
- Guest shuttles last, once the hotel block numbers are clear. Final headcounts can be updated with the desk.
Out-of-town family flying into Philadelphia International can be booked on the same account: PHL to Center City is US$130 in a business sedan, US$170 in a business SUV and US$340 in the Executive Sprinter for a family group with bags. Guests arriving on the train at 30th Street Station can be met in the main hall, and anyone coming down from New York City or up from Baltimore or Washington, DC can be booked door to door with our city to city car service.
Questions to ask before you sign any wedding transportation contract
Whether you book with us or anyone else, these questions protect your day:
- Is the price fixed and does it include gratuity? Ours is fixed per vehicle, with standard gratuity, taxes and the chauffeur included. Some quotes add gratuity and fuel later.
- What happens if the day runs long? With Elly8.net, waiting beyond the booked time is billed at cost; agree a realistic end time rather than the most optimistic one.
- Who holds the operating authority? In Philadelphia, limousine service within the city and from its airport, railroad stations and hotels is overseen by the Philadelphia Parking Authority, and elsewhere in Pennsylvania by the Public Utility Commission, as the PA PUC explains. Our Philadelphia prom checklist walks through those checks in detail.
- How new is the vehicle? Partner vehicles on Elly8.net are 4 model years or newer, or 7 for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley.
- What are the cancellation terms? Ours: free more than 72 hours before pickup, 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, refunded to the original card. The full text is on our cancellation policy page.
- What is the rule on alcohol? Laws differ by city and vehicle type, and the chauffeur follows local rules. Plan the toast at the venue, not in the car.
For a broader look at quotes, see how much a limo or black car costs, and the wedding limousine service page for how we run the day.
A note on guest shuttles from hotel blocks
Shuttles work best on a published timetable. Put the departure times on the wedding website and the welcome card: first van at a fixed time, second 20 minutes later, and returns at two set times at the end of the night. The chauffeurs then run to the plan rather than to whoever is waiting at the curb. This is the same loop logic we use for group weekends elsewhere, such as the Sprinter plans in our Nashville Sprinter van guide.
For weddings that spill into a weekend, such as a welcome dinner on Friday or a send-off brunch, add those runs to the same booking so one desk holds the whole schedule. Couples who host out-of-town family sometimes add a day out to the shore; Atlantic City is the closest of our other cities.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a wedding limo cost in Philadelphia?
On Elly8.net a five-hour block costs US$475 in a business sedan, US$600 in a business SUV, US$725 in a First Class SUV, US$775 in a First Class Sedan and US$950 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle. Prices are fixed and include the chauffeur, taxes and standard gratuity. Stretch limousines and Rolls-Royce cars are priced in the web booker.
How far ahead should we book wedding cars?
Book as soon as the venue and date are confirmed. Spring and autumn Saturdays are the busiest in the region, and Sprinters and First Class sedans go first. Weekends with the Flower Show, commencements or the November marathon need extra lead time. Guest shuttles can be added later, once hotel block numbers are known.
Can one Sprinter shuttle all our guests?
One Executive Sprinter carries up to 12 people per run. For a guest block of 30 to 40, either run one van several times over an hour or book two or three vans in parallel so everyone arrives together. Shuttles are booked by the hour from US$190, with a 3-hour minimum.
Can we do portraits at Longwood Gardens on the wedding day?
Yes, with planning. Longwood requires a paid photography session for wedding portraits, and admission is separate. Book that slot first, then our eight-hour Brandywine Valley and Longwood Gardens package, from US$700 in a business sedan to US$1,400 in the Sprinter, around it.
What if the reception runs late?
Waiting beyond the booked time is billed at cost, so the car stays. To keep costs predictable, book a realistic end time, or switch the couple's car to the eight-hour full-day chauffeur. For guests, book two return shuttle times rather than one, so early leavers are not kept waiting.
What is your cancellation policy for weddings?
Free cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less the charge is 10%, at 48 hours or less 50%, and at 24 hours or less, or a no-show, 100%. Refunds go to the original card. If the date moves, contact the desk to change the booking.
