The MCO airport Disney shuttle is a shared van priced per person: the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority lists it at about US$23 one way or US$37 round trip to the Disney Resorts Area. A private car is priced per vehicle and quoted to your exact resort; with Elly8.net it is fixed and all-in before you fly, and the published Orlando International Airport (MCO) to International Drive fare, for scale, runs from US$155 in a Business Sedan to US$405 in an Executive Sprinter.
For most families of two or three with light bags, the shuttle or a taxi costs less, and we say so below. For families with car seats, a stroller, a late flight or a tired toddler, the private car usually wins on the things a fare table cannot show. Rides in Orlando are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
Is the Disney shuttle from MCO cheaper than a private car?
On price alone, usually yes. The airport lists the shared shuttle to the Disney Resorts Area at about US$23 per person one way, so a family of four pays about US$92. An Elly8.net Business SUV for up to six is quoted to your resort as a fixed, all-in price in the web booker; MCO to International Drive is US$205.
The airport's figures come from its approximate rates table, which also lists a metered taxi to the Disney Resorts Area at about US$52 to US$68 and the local bus at US$4. Our prices include the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet; tolls and parking are billed at cost. Disney resorts are farther from the airport than International Drive, so the resort quote sits above the International Drive figure, and the booker shows the exact number before you pay.

The family arithmetic, both ways
Most families book transport in both directions, so round trips are the fair comparison. The shuttle figures below use the airport's US$37 round-trip estimate per person; the taxi figures double the one-way meter estimate, before tips. The private car column shows our published MCO and International Drive round trip for scale, since your Disney resort is quoted separately.
| Family | Shuttle, round trip | Taxi, both ways (estimate) | Elly8.net round trip, International Drive reference |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 people | about US$74 | about US$104 to US$136 | US$295 Business Sedan |
| 3 people | about US$111 | about US$104 to US$136 | US$295 Business Sedan |
| 4 people | about US$148 | about US$104 to US$136 | US$390 Business SUV |
| 5 people | about US$185 | about US$104 to US$136 | US$390 Business SUV |
| 6 people | about US$222 | about US$104 to US$136 | US$390 Business SUV |
| 8 people | about US$296 | two cabs, or one large cab | US$770 Executive Sprinter |
Children's shuttle rates can differ; the airport's shuttle van page says to check with the attendant for round-trip fares and children's rates. The airport's taxi page says taxis may carry up to nine passengers at the same metered rate.
The honest conclusion: if you do not need child seats and travel light, a taxi is often the best value for a family, and the shuttle is the best value for one or two people. The private car is never the cheapest line. Whether it is worth the difference depends on the next three sections.
Child seats: the deciding factor for many parents
A shared shuttle and a taxi from the rank are not built around your children. If you need seats, you either carry your own through the airport and fit them at the curb, or check with the operator in advance. With a pre-booked private car, child seats are available on request: give each child's age and weight when you book, and the seats are fitted before the vehicle reaches the airport.
That is not a small detail on arrival day. Carrying two car seats, a stroller, carry-ons and children from the gate to a shuttle desk is a real effort, and fitting seats at a busy curb takes time. For many families, the seats alone decide the booking.
Seats take up passenger positions, so count them. A family of five with two car seats fits a Business SUV, which takes up to six passengers and six bags according to our fleet page. A family of six with seats and many cases is often more comfortable in an Executive Sprinter, which takes up to twelve and twelve.
Wait time and the route to the resort
Shuttle. After baggage claim you find the shuttle loading area on the Ground Transportation Curb (Level 1), check in and wait for a departure. A shared van may stop at several resorts, and the Disney area is large, so the total trip time depends on where your resort falls on the route.
Taxi. You queue at the rank, which is on Level 1 at Terminals A and B and on the Arrivals Curb (Level 6) at Terminal C. The taxi goes direct, but the meter runs in traffic; the airport says flat rates are not authorized.
App ride. You walk to the rideshare curb and wait for a match. Prices are not published and rise with demand, which is high when several big flights land together. Seats for children are rarely guaranteed.
Private car. The chauffeur tracks the flight, waits inside arrivals with a name board and goes direct to your resort's front entrance. You get complimentary waiting after a tracked landing, so a delayed flight or a slow carousel is covered. For the arrival process step by step, see our guide to the Orlando airport transfer to Disney.
The moments when the private car earns its price
- Late landings. A flight that lands late at night with children asleep on your shoulder is the clearest case. No queue, no curb, no waiting for other passengers.
- Delays. Summer storms delay Florida flights. A tracked pickup adjusts to the actual landing; a scheduled shuttle departure does not.
- Bags and strollers. A double stroller and five suitcases fill the back of a shared van that other families also need.
- Stops on the way. A grocery stop for breakfast items and water is easy in a private car and impossible on a shared shuttle. Add it in the web booker; it is priced as a multi-stop transfer.
- Grandparents and mobility needs. A door-to-door ride with a chauffeur who helps with bags suits travellers who find long walks and curbs hard. Tell us about wheelchairs or scooters when you book.
- A fixed budget. The price is set before you fly, with no meter and no surge.
The resort side of the trip, from bell desks to departure timing, is covered in Orlando airport to a Disney resort by private car.
When the shuttle is the better choice
We would rather you book well than book us by default. The shuttle or the bus is the right choice when:
- You are one or two adults with carry-on bags.
- You land in the daytime and do not mind a few stops.
- You do not need child seats, or you are happy to bring your own.
- Every dollar counts.
A taxi is the right choice for a family of four to six who travel light, land in the daytime and bring their own seats or do not need them. The airport's estimate for the Disney area is about US$52 to US$68 metered, one way.

Departure day: the leg families forget to compare
Arrival gets the attention, but the return trip is where shared transport is least forgiving. A shuttle back to the airport runs on its own schedule, which may mean a pickup well before you would choose, and every resort on the route adds time. With children, checkout, packing and a last breakfast rarely run to plan.
A private car collects you at the resort entrance at the time you set. Work it out from your airline's recommended airport arrival time, add the drive from your resort and a buffer for morning traffic, and add a few minutes to fit child seats and load the bags. Booking both legs on one reservation secures the car for the morning you leave; our published MCO and International Drive round trip runs from US$295 in a Business Sedan to US$770 in an Executive Sprinter, and your Disney resort round trip is quoted the same way in the web booker.
If the holiday continues to a cruise, the resort-to-ship run is a separate fixed-price transfer; our Orlando to Port Canaveral guide covers the morning timing. All Orlando vehicle classes and published routes are on the Orlando car service page, and you can check the live Orlando prices before you decide.
Two families, one van
When two families travel together, the per-vehicle price changes the picture. Eight shuttle seats round trip come to about US$296 on the airport's estimates. An Executive Sprinter for up to twelve is quoted to your resort as a fixed price; the International Drive round trip, for scale, is US$770. The van costs more, but it carries everyone, every bag and every child seat in one vehicle, at the time you choose.
If the families land on different flights, two Business SUVs on two reservations are kinder than holding one van at the airport. Our Orlando Sprinter van rental guide compares one van with two SUVs on every Orlando route.
How booking works
- Enter your flight and the exact resort name. The flight number lets the chauffeur track it; the resort name sends the chauffeur to the right entrance.
- Choose the vehicle and add child seats. Give each child's age and weight.
- Reserve now or use the web booker. Resort addresses are quoted in the booker as fixed prices. Confirmation arrives by email.
Cancellation terms: more than 72 hours before pickup is free; 72 hours or less is 10%; 48 hours or less is 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100%. Refunds go to the original card. Our airport transfers page explains how flight changes are handled. Elly8.net books the car only; for flights and resorts our travel partner is BookingWorldwide.net. Frequently asked questions
How much is the shuttle from MCO to Disney?
The airport's approximate rates table lists a shared shuttle van to the Disney Resorts Area at about US$23 per person one way, or US$37 round trip. Fares are per person, and children's rates may differ, so check with the attendant. An Elly8.net private car is quoted to your exact resort as a fixed price in the web booker.
Is a taxi from MCO to Disney cheaper than a shuttle for a family?
Often, yes. The airport lists a metered taxi to the Disney Resorts Area at about US$52 to US$68, and taxis carry up to nine passengers at the same rate. For a family of four or more who travel light and do not need child seats, a taxi is usually the cheapest door-to-door option.
Do Disney shuttles from MCO have car seats?
Check with the shuttle operator before you travel. Many families bring their own seats. With an Elly8.net private car, child seats are available on request and fitted before pickup; give each child's age and weight when you book.
How long does the shared shuttle take compared with a private car?
A shared shuttle may wait for other passengers and stop at several resorts, so the total time depends on your place on the route. A private car goes direct to your resort's front entrance after meeting you inside arrivals. The drive itself depends on traffic for both.
Is the private car price per person?
No, per vehicle. A Business SUV costs the same for two as for six, and an Executive Sprinter the same for six as for twelve. The price includes taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet, with tolls and parking billed at cost.
Can we stop for groceries on the way to the resort?
In a private car, yes. Add the stop in the web booker so it is priced as a multi-stop transfer, and the chauffeur waits with your bags while you shop. Shared shuttles run fixed routes and cannot stop.
