A car service from Orlando to Port Canaveral picks you up at your hotel, resort or vacation home and drives you, with all your cruise luggage, to the front of your cruise terminal. With Elly8.net the price is fixed and all-in before you travel, quoted in the web booker for your exact pickup address, terminal and boarding time, and the chauffeur follows the route east on SR 528, the toll road the Canaveral Port Authority uses in its directions to the port.
Rides in Orlando are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. If you are flying in on sailing day, our Orlando airport to Port Canaveral guide covers the airport version. This post is for the traveller who is already in Orlando: on International Drive, at a Disney or Universal hotel, in a Kissimmee vacation home or on the coast.
How much does a car service from Orlando to Port Canaveral cost?
Elly8.net quotes each Orlando-to-Port Canaveral transfer as a fixed, all-in price per vehicle in the web booker, based on your pickup address and cruise terminal. Taxes and standard gratuity are included and tolls are billed at cost. For scale, our eight-hour Kennedy Space Center day trip on the same coast runs from US$700 to US$1,400.
The port route is not on our published Orlando price list because pickup addresses, terminals and boarding windows vary. The booker shows the exact number before you pay, and that number does not change with traffic. For a sense of the market, the airport's approximate rates table lists a metered taxi from MCO to Port Canaveral at about US$115; from International Drive or the Disney area, which sit west of the airport, the trip is longer.
Prices are per vehicle: a Business Sedan or First Class Sedan takes up to three passengers and two bags, a Business SUV or First Class SUV up to six and six, and an Executive Sprinter up to twelve and twelve, according to our fleet page. The Orlando price panel, including hourly rates and packages, is on the Orlando car service page.

Why so many cruisers spend a night in Orlando first
A ship sails at a fixed time. Flying in the day before, or combining the cruise with a few days at the parks, takes the airline out of the critical path. The pre-cruise night also changes what the transfer is: a calm morning ride from a hotel, at a time you choose, rather than a race from the arrivals hall.
Popular bases for a pre-cruise night:
- International Drive, with many hotels, restaurants and an easy run to the toll road east.
- A Disney or Universal hotel, for families finishing a theme park stay. Our guide to Orlando airport to a Disney resort covers the resort end of the trip.
- The airport area, for travellers who land late and want the shortest drive.
- The coast near the port, for a beach evening before sailing. The port's FAQ notes that several hotels near the port offer cruise perks, including shuttle service and parking.
Timing the morning pickup
Start from the boarding time your cruise line assigns. The port's cruise terminal guide asks guests to follow that time, and adds that terminal parking garages and surface lots do not open before 10 a.m. for embarking passengers. That parking rule affects people who drive themselves; a drop-off at the terminal front is a different route, and your chauffeur follows the port's passenger drop-off signs.
To set the pickup:
- Take your boarding time from your cruise documents.
- Work back the drive. The port puts MCO at approximately 45 minutes away; allow more from International Drive, Disney or Kissimmee, and a buffer for traffic on the toll road.
- Add loading time at the hotel for heavy cruise luggage and any child seats.
- Add breakfast and checkout. Embarkation mornings are busy at hotels with many cruise guests, so checkout can take longer than usual.
Give us the time you want to be at the terminal, and the desk sets the pickup with the partner chauffeur. If you are unsure, tell us your hotel and boarding time and we suggest one.
Cruise luggage and choosing the vehicle
Cruise bags are heavy and numerous. Count them honestly, including garment bags and carry-ons you will hand to the porters.
| Party | Typical luggage | Vehicle | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Couple | two large cases, two carry-ons | Business SUV or First Class SUV | Sedans take two bags; an SUV takes six |
| Family of four | four cases, carry-ons, one child seat | Business SUV / Van | Room for seats and bags |
| Family of five or six | five or six cases, two child seats | First Class SUV or Executive Sprinter | Seats reduce usable space |
| Two families or friends | up to twelve cases | Executive Sprinter | One vehicle, one arrival |
Child seats are available on request; give each child's age and weight when you book. For groups over twelve, we schedule two vehicles to the same terminal. Our Orlando Sprinter van rental guide compares one van with two SUVs.
The terminals: A side and B side
The port's directions and parking page splits the cruise terminals into two groups reached by separate exits from SR 528:
- A terminals (north side), Exit 54A: Cruise Terminals 5, 6, 8 and 10.
- B terminals (south side), Exit 54B: Cruise Terminals 1, 2 and 3.
The port notes that ship schedules and assigned terminals can change, so confirm with your cruise line and give us the terminal number. At the terminal, the port asks drivers to drop passengers and baggage at the terminal, where porters provided by the cruise lines assist with bags. The chauffeur unloads at the front and you walk in with your carry-ons.
Other ways to get from Orlando to the port
The port's guest transportation page lists the main options: rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft operate at the port; many hotels offer complimentary or scheduled shuttles; major rental car companies offer shuttle transfers between the port and their offices; some cruise lines run transport to the theme parks and airports; and ground transportation providers at the port offer private and shared transfers.
The fair comparison:
- A hotel shuttle is the best value if your hotel runs one at a time that suits your boarding window. Ask the hotel.
- A cruise-line transfer is simple if your line offers one from your hotel area.
- An app ride works for light travellers, but prices are not published and change with demand, and a long trip with heavy bags in a standard car is tight.
- A rental car means a one-way drop or port parking; the port lists parking at US$20 per day plus tax.
- A private car is the right booking for families with child seats, groups with lots of luggage, and anyone who wants a set pickup time and a fixed price. See chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft and chauffeur vs renting a car for the general trade-offs.
After the ship docks: making the return trip count
The return transfer can do more than reach the airport. Three common plans:
Port to MCO. Your cruise line sets the disembarkation time. Book a pickup that fits it and your flight, and allow the drive plus your airline's recommended check-in time. The port says departing passengers can be picked up with luggage in front of the terminal entrance.
Port to the Space Coast, then the airport. The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is on Merritt Island, on the same coast as the port. A port-to-KSC-to-airport day is quoted in the web booker, with the chauffeur waiting during the visit; our Orlando KSC day trip, for reference, runs eight hours from US$700 in a Business Sedan, US$885 in a Business SUV and US$1,400 in an Executive Sprinter. Check the launch schedule, since launch days bring heavy traffic.
Port to a theme park hotel. Many families sail first and finish with the parks. A port-to-resort transfer is quoted in the web booker; for the Universal side, see Orlando airport to Universal.
By the hour is another option for a day with several stops: from US$95 an hour in a Business Sedan to US$190 in an Executive Sprinter, with a three-hour minimum, through our hourly chauffeur service.
A checklist for the night before
Cruise mornings go smoothly when the evening before is organised. Before you sleep:
- Confirm the terminal and boarding time in your cruise line's app or documents, since the port says assigned terminals can change.
- Separate the carry-on. Medication, documents, swimwear and anything you need before your cabin is ready go in the bag you keep; the large cases go to the porters at the terminal.
- Tag the checked bags with your cruise line's luggage tags, if your line issues them, so the porters can take them straight from the car.
- Check the confirmation email for the pickup time and the chauffeur's details, and keep your phone charged.
- Tell the desk about changes, such as an extra passenger or a different hotel, as early as possible. Cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup is free.
How booking works
- Enter your pickup address and the cruise terminal, with your boarding time. For vacation homes, add the gate code.
- Choose the vehicle by bags, and add child seats.
- Get the fixed price in the web booker and reserve. Confirmation arrives by email; the chauffeur's details follow before pickup.
Cancellation terms: more than 72 hours before pickup is free; 72 hours or less is 10%; 48 hours or less is 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100%. Refunds go to the original card. Frequently asked questions
What time should the hotel pickup be for my cruise?
Work back from the boarding time your cruise line assigns. Allow the drive, which the port puts at about 45 minutes from MCO and longer from International Drive or Disney, plus a traffic buffer and time to load heavy bags. Tell us your hotel and boarding time and the desk suggests a pickup.
Can you pick us up at a Disney resort and take us to the ship?
Yes. A resort-to-port transfer is quoted as a fixed price in the web booker. Give the full resort name, the cruise terminal and your boarding time. The chauffeur meets you at the resort entrance and loads the bags, and child seats are fitted on request.
Does the 10 a.m. parking rule affect a drop-off?
The port says its terminal garages and lots do not open before 10 a.m. for embarking passengers, which matters for people who park. A chauffeur drop-off uses the passenger drop-off at the terminal. Your arrival should still follow the boarding time assigned by your cruise line.
How many bags fit in each vehicle?
Sedans take up to three passengers and two bags, SUVs up to six passengers and six bags, and the Executive Sprinter up to twelve and twelve. Cruise luggage is heavy, so a couple with two large cases and carry-ons is usually more comfortable in an SUV.
Can we visit Kennedy Space Center on the way back from the cruise?
Yes. The visitor complex is on Merritt Island, on the same coast as the port. A port-to-KSC-to-airport or hotel plan is quoted in the web booker, with the chauffeur waiting during your visit. For reference, our Orlando eight-hour KSC day trip runs from US$700 to US$1,400.
What if the ship disembarks late?
Give us the ship and terminal, and message the desk if disembarkation runs behind. The desk updates the chauffeur, who waits at the terminal entrance. Waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost, so a quick update helps keep the charge down.
