The Coachella shuttle is the cheapest organised way to the festival: the official Coachella Shuttle Pass is listed at US$150 for a weekend, service fees included, on the festival's 2027 passes page, and the festival calls shuttles the best choice for getting to and from the grounds. A private car from Elly8.net costs more per head in almost every case. An Executive Sprinter for up to 12 is US$200 an hour in the Palm Springs area, with a 3-hour minimum, or US$1,000 for the evening out and event night package, per vehicle.
So why would anyone pay more? Because the shuttle runs on fixed routes from participating stops, and a lot of festival groups stay somewhere it does not reach, want to arrive and leave on their own schedule, or need an airport run on Thursday and Monday that no festival pass covers. This comparison sets out the numbers and gives a straight verdict for each kind of group. Rides in Palm Springs are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
Is the Coachella shuttle worth it?
For most solo festival-goers, couples and small groups staying near a participating stop, yes. The 2027 Coachella Shuttle Pass is listed at US$150 for the weekend, fees included, and shuttles drop and collect closest to the festival entry. A private car makes sense for groups staying off-route, arriving on their own schedule, or combining festival days with airport runs.
The festival dates are April 9 to 11 and April 16 to 18, 2027, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, with Stagecoach on April 23 to 25, 2027. The festival's passes page also sells a GA plus 3-day shuttle bundle that it says saves US$20, and hotel packages that include shuttle service.

The numbers, side by side
| Option | Price | What you get | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coachella Shuttle Pass (2027) | US$150 per person per weekend, fees included | rides from participating stops; drop-off and pickup closest to the festival entry | fixed routes and stops; you travel when the shuttle runs |
| Preferred Parking (2027) | US$299 per vehicle per weekend, fees included | parking in Lot 1 with entry through the north entrance, Friday to Sunday | someone drives; no entry after 10 p.m.; cars left after 2 a.m. towed |
| Rideshare (Uber, Lyft) | set by the app at request | 2026 guide: Lot 1D at Avenue 49 and Monroe Street, 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. | the festival warns the longest waits are from midnight to 2:30 a.m. |
| Elly8.net Business SUV, evening package | US$625 per vehicle | up to 6 passengers, a chauffeur who drops and collects at the agreed point | a five-hour block; a full festival day needs more hours |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter, by the hour | US$200 an hour, 3-hour minimum, per vehicle | up to 12 passengers, your timetable | the hours add up on a long day |
The parking and rideshare details come from the festival's getting here page, which in late 2026 still showed the 2026 festival information; it is normally republished before each edition, so check it again in the spring.
Cost per person: the honest arithmetic
Elly8.net prices are per vehicle, never per person. The per-head figures below simply divide a vehicle price by a full group, for comparison only.
| Group | Shuttle, whole weekend | Private car plan | Private car, per head for comparison |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 person | US$150 | Business Sedan evening package x 3 days = US$1,500 | US$1,500 |
| 2 people | US$300 | Business Sedan evening package x 3 days = US$1,500 | US$750 |
| 6 people | US$900 | Business SUV evening package x 3 days = US$1,875 | about US$313 |
| 12 people | US$1,800 | Executive Sprinter evening package x 3 days = US$3,000 | US$250 |
On price alone, the shuttle wins for every group size. The gap is widest for one or two people and narrowest for a full Sprinter, where the private car costs about US$100 more per head across the weekend. That difference is what you are paying for: your own schedule, a pickup at your door, and one vehicle that waits for the whole group.
There is one more number worth knowing. The evening package is a five-hour block. A group that wants to arrive in the early afternoon and stay to the end will spend far longer than five hours on the grounds, so either the chauffeur drops you and comes back (two transfers, priced in the web booker for your exact address) or you book enough hours. Holding a Sprinter for 12 hours at US$200 an hour is US$2,400 a day, and that is rarely the smart way to do it. Our Coachella private driver guide shows how to plan a day so you pay only for the driving you need.
Wait times and the walk
Shuttle. The festival says shuttles drop off and pick up closest to the festival entry, the shortest walk of any option. The wait is for the next shuttle on your route, and after the last set, the queue for the ride home is part of the experience.
Rideshare. The rideshare lot is separate, and the festival's own advice is that the longest waits fall between midnight and 2:30 a.m., the exact time everyone wants to leave. Prices also respond to demand.
Parking. No queue for a ride, but a queue to exit the lot, and someone in the group is driving after a long day. Preferred Parking has no pick-ups or drop-offs and closes to new entries at 10 p.m.
Private car. No queue for a vehicle that is already assigned to you, but cars still have to reach the drop-off and pick-up areas the festival allows, through the same festival traffic. In 2026 the festival required an on-site pass for black car and limo drop-off, and sent vehicles without a pass to a public pick-up and drop-off area at Madison Street and Avenue 52. Your chauffeur meets you at the agreed point; leaving a little before or after the headliner makes the biggest difference.
Comfort and control
The shuttle is a bus: comfortable enough, shared, and on its schedule. A Sprinter is your group's vehicle for the day. That matters for a few kinds of guests: a family with teenagers who want a parent's car on standby, a hospitality group that wants to leave together and early, a guest with mobility needs who wants the shortest practical transfer, or a group with a rental house in La Quinta or south Palm Springs that is nowhere near a stop. Child seats are available on request, and the chauffeur follows California's rules on alcohol in vehicles.
The hybrid plan most groups should consider
The best value for many groups is not either-or:
- Festival days: shuttle passes for everyone staying near a stop, at US$150 each.
- Thursday and Monday: a private airport transfer. From Palm Springs International (PSP) to downtown Palm Springs, an Executive Sprinter is US$325 for the whole group and a Business SUV US$165, fixed and all-in. For a house further down the valley, the web booker gives a fixed quote to the address.
- One evening: a car for the group. A dinner night in Palm Springs or Palm Desert on the evening out package, from US$500 in a Business Sedan to US$1,000 in an Executive Sprinter.
The airport leg is the part a festival pass never covers, and it is when you have the most luggage. Our Palm Springs airport car service guide covers PSP arrivals, and if you fly into LAX instead, the festival sells a one-way LAX shuttle on both weekends, while a private transfer is priced through city to city car service.
Four questions that settle it
- Is your bed on a shuttle route? If yes, the shuttle is hard to beat. If you are in a rental house off the routes, the shuttle starts with a ride to the stop, and the comparison changes.
- Will the whole group arrive and leave together? A shared vehicle only pays off when everyone travels at the same time. If half the group wants the opening acts and half the headliner, two smaller vehicles or the shuttle suit better.
- Who is carrying the luggage on Thursday and Monday? The shuttle pass covers festival days. Airport days are a separate decision, and that is where a private car most often earns its price.
- What is the plan at midnight? Whatever you choose, the exit is where time is lost. A shuttle queue, a rideshare lot and a car meeting point all work better with a fixed time agreed in advance.
Answer those four honestly and the choice usually makes itself.
Verdict by group
- Solo or a couple, staying on a shuttle route: take the shuttle. Add a car only for the airport if you land late or with a lot of luggage.
- Four to six friends in a hotel on the route: shuttle passes for the festival, a Business SUV for the airport runs.
- Six to twelve in a rental house off-route: a private car starts to make sense, especially an Executive Sprinter with drop-off and pickup transfers each day rather than a vehicle held all day.
- VIP hospitality guests, families and anyone with a fixed schedule: a private car, booked early.
- Driving yourselves: Preferred Parking at US$299 a weekend is cheap per head if the car is full, but someone drives home at 2 a.m.

Frequently asked questions
How much is the Coachella shuttle pass for 2027?
The festival's 2027 passes page lists the Coachella Shuttle Pass at US$150 total for a weekend, with service fees included, and a GA plus 3-day shuttle bundle that saves US$20. Prices can change while supplies last, so check the passes page when you buy.
Is a private car cheaper than the Coachella shuttle?
No, not per person. Even a full 12-seat Executive Sprinter on the evening package for three days works out to about US$250 per head as arithmetic for comparison, against US$150 for a shuttle pass. A private car buys flexibility, door-to-door service and airport runs.
Where do private cars drop off at Coachella?
In 2026 the festival required an on-site pass for black car and limousine drop-off and directed vehicles without one to the public pick-up and drop-off area at Madison Street and Avenue 52. The desk confirms the exact point for your booking before the weekend.
Can a private car pick us up right after the headliner?
Yes, at the agreed pickup point, but traffic around the grounds is heavy at closing. Leaving a little before or after the last set shortens the wait. The chauffeur stages nearby and you meet at the agreed spot rather than searching for each other in the crowd.
Is the price per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle, always. A Business SUV takes up to 6 passengers and an Executive Sprinter up to 12. Dividing the price by the group size is only for comparison with per-person options such as the shuttle pass.
Do you cover Stagecoach too?
Yes. Stagecoach runs April 23 to 25, 2027, on the same grounds, and the same planning applies: shuttle passes for value, a private car for flexibility and for airport days.
