A Palm Springs airport car service booked with Elly8.net tracks your flight into Palm Springs International Airport (PSP), meets you with a name board, loads the luggage and golf bags, and drives you about 5 miles (8 km) to downtown Palm Springs for a fixed, all-in fare: US$125 in a Business Sedan, US$165 in a Business SUV and up to US$325 in an Executive Sprinter. You get complimentary waiting after a tracked landing.
PSP is one of the easiest airports in the country: one compact terminal, a short walk from the gate to the curb and about 10 minutes to downtown on a clear road. That also means the taxi rank and the bus are genuinely good for some travellers, and this guide says when. Rides in Palm Springs are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
Where does the driver meet you at Palm Springs airport?
Your Elly8.net chauffeur tracks the flight and waits in arrivals with a name board, then walks you to the car. You do not need the taxi area outside baggage claim or the rideshare zone, which PSP places at the south end of the terminal in the commercial lane. Only permitted companies may provide transportation at PSP.
The rideshare, taxi and permit details come from the airport's parking and transportation page. The permit rule matters: if someone approaches you in the terminal offering a ride, they are not part of your booking. Your chauffeur's name and the vehicle details arrive before pickup, and the name board carries your name.

The arrival, step by step
- Book with the flight number. Add passengers, an honest luggage count (including golf bags, festival gear or coolers) and any child seats. Child seats are available on request; give each child's age and weight.
- Before landing. The desk follows the flight. An early arrival or a delay moves the meeting time, and the price does not change.
- At arrivals. Walk to baggage claim. The chauffeur is waiting with a name board.
- Bags. Golf bags and oversized items come out separately at many airports; the complimentary waiting after a tracked landing covers that wait.
- To the car. The chauffeur walks with you and loads everything.
- The drive. About 10 minutes to downtown on a clear road; longer to the resorts down the valley.
Luggage and golf bags: what fits
Desert trips bring awkward luggage: golf bags in winter and spring, festival bags and coolers in April, design-week shopping in February. Use these capacities and tell the desk about anything long.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Standard bags | PSP to downtown Palm Springs | Good fit for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business Sedan | up to 3 | up to 2 | US$125 | One or two travellers, light luggage |
| First Class Sedan | up to 3 | up to 2 | US$220 | Executives, a quieter cabin |
| Business SUV | up to 6 | up to 6 | US$165 | Golfers, families, festival luggage |
| First Class SUV | up to 6 | up to 6 | US$200 | Families who want more room |
| Executive Sprinter | up to 12 | up to 12 | US$325 | Groups, golf trips, wedding parties |
A sedan trunk takes suitcases, not a set of golf clubs plus suitcases for two. With clubs, start with a Business SUV. A golf foursome with clubs and bags is a Sprinter booking. Prices are per vehicle, not per person: as arithmetic for comparison only, four golfers sharing a US$325 Sprinter pay about US$81 each. Every price includes the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet; tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost.
Flat rate vs the taxi and the app
This is where PSP differs from big-city airports. According to the airport, taxis load in the ground transportation area outside baggage claim and may offer a US$25 flat fare for eligible trips from PSP, including airport fees; confirm the price with the driver before you leave. For one person going downtown with a carry-on, that is hard to beat, and we would not argue otherwise.
| Option | Price | Where you board | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| SunLine bus | standard bus fare, see SunLine | stops at El Cielo and Kirk Douglas Way, and Tahquitz Canyon Way and Civic Drive, a short walk | Solo traveller with time and a light bag |
| PSP taxi | US$25 flat fare offered on eligible trips, airport fees included; confirm first | ground transportation area outside baggage claim | One or two people going downtown |
| Uber or Lyft | set by the app at request; rises with demand | south end of the terminal, commercial lane | Flexible short trips off-peak |
| Elly8.net Business Sedan | US$125 fixed, all-in | met in arrivals with a name board | Late flights, resorts down valley, fixed budget |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | US$325 fixed, all-in | met in arrivals with a name board | Groups, golf bags, festival weekends |
The bus stops are also from PSP's page, and SunLine publishes routes across the valley. The pre-booked car wins in specific cases: when you are heading to a resort in Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells or La Quinta; when you have a group, golf bags or child seats; when you land late; and on festival and tennis weekends, when app prices and taxi queues both grow. The general argument is in chauffeur vs taxi and chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft.
Going down the valley
Downtown is close; the valley is long. On our routing, from PSP on a clear road:
| Destination | Distance | Clear-road drive | Elly8.net price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Downtown Palm Springs | about 5 mi (8 km) | about 10 min | US$125 to US$325, fixed |
| Rancho Mirage, Highway 111 resorts | about 9 mi (15 km) | about 17 min | web booker, fixed quote |
| Palm Desert, El Paseo | about 13 mi (20 km) | about 23 min | web booker, fixed quote |
| Indian Wells Tennis Garden | about 18 mi (28 km) | about 27 min | web booker, fixed quote |
| La Quinta | about 23 mi (36 km) | about 34 min | web booker, fixed quote |
| Empire Polo Club, Indio | about 24 mi (38 km) | about 36 min | web booker, fixed quote |
Highway 111 runs through long stretches of traffic lights, and I-10 is faster for the far end of the valley. Type your exact resort or rental address into the booker for a fixed price. For festival weekends, read our Coachella transportation guide before you book the airport leg.
When PSP gets busy
PSP is calm most of the year and busy in waves. These are the dates that fill the valley in 2027:
- Palm Springs International Film Festival, January 7 to 18, 2027, per the festival.
- Modernism Week, February 11 to 21, 2027, per Modernism Week, with home tours across the city.
- BNP Paribas Open, February 28 to March 14, 2027, at Indian Wells, per the tournament.
- Coachella, April 9 to 11 and April 16 to 18, 2027, and Stagecoach, April 23 to 25, 2027, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio.
On those dates, several flights land together and the curb fills. A tracked pickup is already assigned to your flight, which is the main difference from joining a queue. Book early: festival and tennis weeks are the busiest days of the year for cars in the valley. Groups heading out for a celebration should also see our post on Palm Springs party buses and Sprinters.
Booking a car for someone else
Many PSP pickups are booked by someone who is not on the plane: a wedding planner meeting guests, an assistant booking an executive for a resort conference, a family member collecting parents for the winter. Put the traveller's name and mobile number on the booking, and your own details as the contact. The name board carries the traveller's name, the confirmation goes to you, and the desk contacts the traveller directly if a flight changes.
For several guests on different flights, book one car per arrival rather than holding one vehicle at the curb; each pickup is then tracked to its own flight. A resort group arriving together is the exception, and an Executive Sprinter at US$325 handles up to 12 people in one trip. Travel agents and hotels can set this up on their own accounts through the travel agent and hotel partner pages.
Departures and round trips
The fare is the same in either direction, so the departure run from downtown to PSP costs what the arrival did. Booked together, the round trip is US$240 in a Business Sedan, US$315 in a Business SUV and US$620 in an Executive Sprinter. PSP is small, but security and bag drop still take time in peak season; build in a sensible margin and tell the desk your flight time so the pickup is set to suit.
If you are flying into Los Angeles, Orange County or San Diego instead, we book those long transfers at a fixed price through the web booker; see city to city car service and our Los Angeles car service page.
Booking tips
- Count the golf bags. It changes the vehicle more than the passenger count does.
- Give the resort or rental address. Down-valley trips are priced to the exact address.
- Book the return now. The round trip locks in both legs.
- Need the car again during the stay? An hourly chauffeur in Palm Springs is US$100 an hour in a Business Sedan and US$200 in an Executive Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum, and the Joshua Tree National Park day trip runs from US$740 to US$1,475 for 8 hours.
- Travelling for work? A corporate account gives monthly invoicing; NDAs are available on request.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a car service from Palm Springs airport to downtown?
US$125 in a Business Sedan, US$165 in a Business SUV, US$200 in a First Class SUV, US$220 in a First Class Sedan and US$325 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle. Prices are fixed and all-in, with the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet included.
Is a taxi cheaper from PSP?
Often, for one person going downtown. PSP says taxis may offer a US$25 flat fare on eligible trips from the airport, including airport fees, so confirm with the driver. A booked car makes more sense for groups, golf bags, child seats, late flights and resorts further down the valley.
Where is the rideshare pickup at Palm Springs airport?
PSP directs Uber and Lyft passengers to a designated area at the south end of the terminal in the commercial lane. An Elly8.net chauffeur meets you inside arrivals instead, so you do not need to walk to the rideshare zone.
Will my golf clubs fit?
In a Business SUV or First Class SUV, yes, for most couples and small groups; a sedan is too small for clubs plus luggage. A foursome with clubs and suitcases should book an Executive Sprinter. Tell the desk how many golf bags you have when you book.
What happens if my flight is late?
Every airport pickup is flight-tracked, so the chauffeur's time follows the actual landing, with complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. The fixed price does not change. Waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost, and the desk tells you before that applies.
Can you take us to a resort in Palm Desert or La Quinta?
Yes. Enter the exact address in the web booker for a fixed price before you pay. On our routing, El Paseo in Palm Desert is about 13 miles (20 km) from PSP and La Quinta about 23 miles (36 km).
