How do you get to the BNP Paribas Open by car?
Private cars, taxis and rideshare all use one zone at Indian Wells Tennis Garden: enter through Gate 10 off Warner Trail and meet the car at the canopy marked Drop Off Area, near the North Gate. - Drop-off and pickup. The designated zone for Uber, Lyft, taxis and other private rides is close to the North Gate entrance. All drop-offs and pickups must enter through Gate 10 off Warner Trail; no other drop-off or pickup point is allowed. Guests meet their ride at the canopy labelled Drop Off Area.
- General parking. General parking is free in the General Lot, reached via Miles Avenue. ADA parking is reached through Gate 9 on Warner Trail.
- Hotel shuttles. Guests who bought a Hotel Package at an official partner hotel ride a complimentary shuttle, showing their hotel key to board. Shuttles use a pick-up and drop-off zone near the East Gate.
So a chauffeured car does not get a special gate; it uses the same Gate 10 zone as everyone else. What it changes is the wait. Your chauffeur is already in the zone at the agreed time, the car is yours rather than the next one on an app, and the price was fixed when you booked.
Two weeks, day sessions and night sessions
The tournament covers fifteen days, from the opening rounds at the start of the first week through the finals at the end of the second, according to the official BNP Paribas Open site. The order of play is published daily during the event, and night sessions mean some days end late. That shapes the transport plan more than anything else: the drive in is easy to time, the drive home depends on the last match.
Fans in the valley for a few days usually book day by day. Sponsors, players' guests and hospitality hosts who are here for a week or more often book a car by the hour for each day, or a full-day chauffeur, so one driver handles the morning drop, a lunch away from the grounds and the night pickup. Weekends, and above all the final weekend, are the busiest days on the valley roads.
Distances from PSP and the desert resorts
PSP is the closest airport. The tournament's own FAQ calls it about a half-hour drive from the Tennis Garden, with Ontario International a 1 to 1.5 hour drive and Los Angeles International (LAX) 2 to 2.5 hours. Arrival at PSP. Palm Springs International is small and pleasant, but it gets busy when several flights land together in March. According to the airport's parking and transportation page, rideshare pickups use a designated area at the south end of the terminal, and taxis wait outside baggage claim. Honest alternatives: hotel shuttles, rideshare, taxi, bus
Tournament hotel shuttles. If you bought a Hotel Package at an official partner hotel, the complimentary shuttle is a good deal. In 2026 the tournament ran routes from partner hotels in Indian Wells, Palm Desert, La Quinta and Rancho Mirage every 30 or 60 minutes, continuing until one hour after the last match, per its published 2026 shuttle schedule. The 2027 timetable will be posted closer to the event. It suits guests who are happy to travel on the shuttle's timing.
Rideshare and taxis. App rides and taxis use the same Gate 10 zone. For a daytime trip from a nearby hotel that works well. After a night session, when thousands of people leave at once, waits get longer and app prices rise with demand.
At the airport. According to PSP, taxis may offer a US$25 flat fare for eligible trips from the airport, including airport fees, so check with the driver first; for one person going to downtown Palm Springs with a carry-on, that is hard to beat.
