For a solo festival-goer staying near a shuttle stop, the official Coachella Shuttle is simple and good value. The festival publishes its rules every year on the official getting here page, and they shape every booking. For 2026, the most recent published edition, the arrangements were:
- Licensed black car and limo drop-off. The festival operated an on-site drop-off area for licensed black car and limo services, open to vehicles holding a festival pass. Drop-offs and staging were allowed Friday to Sunday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., staging for pickups until 11 p.m., with in-bound road closures and likely delays after 11 p.m.
- Public pick-up and drop-off. Vehicles without that pass use the public pick-up and drop-off area at the corner of Madison Street and Avenue 52, at the car camping and toll booth lot (Lot 13), entered off Madison.
- Rideshare. App rides operated from Lot 1D at Avenue 49 and Monroe Street, Friday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m., reached on the Yellow Path. The festival itself warned that the highest wait times are between 12 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. each night.
- Shuttles. The Coachella Shuttle runs show-day loops from local stops, and an LAX Shuttle Pass covers travellers coming from Los Angeles.
- Pedestrians. Walking was not permitted on Monroe Street between Avenues 49 and 52, or on Madison Street between Avenues 50 and 52.
The 2027 details will be posted closer to the festival, and the desk follows whatever is published. The dates and the valley in April
According to the official Coachella site, the 2027 festival runs April 9-11 and April 16-18, 2027. The address is the Empire Polo Club, 81-800 Avenue 51, Indio, CA 92201. Stagecoach, the country music festival, follows on the same grounds on April 23-25, 2027, so the valley stays busy for three consecutive weekends.
April is peak season in the Coachella Valley. Resorts, rentals and airport arrivals all spike on the Thursday and Friday of each weekend, and Interstate 10, Jefferson Street and the roads around the polo fields carry festival traffic from early afternoon. A business sedan booked months in advance is a different experience from trying to find one at 4 p.m. on the Friday.
The plan for a Coachella weekend
Thursday or Friday: the arrival. Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) is the closest airport to the festival and to most resorts. Your chauffeur tracks the flight and meets you with a name board, so you skip the shared rideshare area at the south end of the terminal; see airport transfers. The fixed fare from PSP to downtown Palm Springs is US$125 in a business sedan, US$165 in a business SUV, US$200 in a First Class SUV, US$220 in a First Class Sedan and US$325 in an Executive Sprinter. Festival afternoons: the drop. Most guests head to the polo fields in the mid-afternoon. A one-way drop costs less than a full evening, but it leaves the hard part, the return, to chance. The better booking is a round trip on the same reservation: a drop in the afternoon and a pickup time agreed in advance.
Festival nights: the pickup. Here is the plan that works. Agree a pickup time with the desk, give or take the headliner, and the chauffeur is at the agreed point before you walk out. If the car will use the public point at Madison and Avenue 52, you leave the grounds on the path toward that corner; if it has on-site access, you follow the black car signage. Either way, you are not in the rideshare queue during the peak waits the festival itself warns about.
Groups. Coachella is a group event. An Executive Sprinter with driver takes a party with bags in one vehicle, priced per vehicle, not per person: US$200 an hour as directed, or US$1,000 for a 5-hour evening. Prices on the Palm Springs price list do not change for Coachella. They are per vehicle, fixed and all-in, including the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet; tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. If a festival access charge applies to a vehicle, it is not hidden in the fare; the desk tells you before you book.

Honest alternatives: shuttle, rideshare, taxi
The Coachella Shuttle. For one or two people staying near a shuttle stop, the festival's own shuttle pass is the simplest choice and avoids traffic decisions entirely. The festival sells it alongside passes and hotel packages.
Rideshare. App rides use Lot 1D at Avenue 49 and Monroe. In the afternoon that works well. After the headliner, the festival itself warns that the longest waits come between midnight and 2:30 a.m., and app prices move with demand.
Taxi and bus. At the airport, PSP's parking and transportation page lists taxis outside baggage claim and rideshare at the south end of the terminal, and the city page explains the taxi flat fare offered on eligible trips downtown.
