An Elly8.net YVR to Whistler car service is a private vehicle and chauffeur who track your flight, meet you inside arrivals at Vancouver International Airport and drive you about 135 km (84 mi) up the Sea-to-Sky Highway to your Whistler Village hotel. The fare is fixed and all-in, per vehicle: US$370 in a Business Sedan, US$485 in a Business SUV and US$965 in an Executive Sprinter, the same price in either direction.
The drive takes about 2 hours 20 minutes on a clear road. What makes the trip easy or hard is usually the first 45 minutes at the airport: customs, bags, finding your ride. This guide walks through it in order, then covers luggage, the road itself and how a flat rate compares with a metered taxi, a limo quote and the coach. Rides in Whistler are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
How much is a car service from YVR to Whistler?
An Elly8.net car from YVR to Whistler Village costs US$370 in a Business Sedan, US$485 in a Business SUV, US$595 in a First Class SUV, US$650 in a First Class Sedan and US$965 in an Executive Sprinter, one way. The round trip starts at US$705. Prices are fixed, all-in and per vehicle.
The fare includes the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and the airport meet and greet. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. Because the price is per vehicle, four skiers in a Business SUV pay one fare between them, which is where a private car starts to compete with buying four seats on a coach.
| YVR to Whistler Village | One way | Round trip | Seats / bags |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business Sedan | US$370 | US$705 | 3 / 2 |
| Business SUV | US$485 | US$925 | 6 / 6 |
| First Class SUV | US$595 | US$1,135 | 6 / 6 |
| First Class Sedan | US$650 | US$1,235 | 3 / 2 |
| Executive Sprinter | US$965 | US$1,835 | 12 / 12 |

Step 1: book with the flight number
Give the desk your flight number, not just a landing time. The chauffeur's pickup follows the flight, so an early arrival is met and a late one does not eat into your waiting time. If you are connecting at YVR from another flight, give the final inbound flight.
Add the full Whistler address. For a hotel, the name is enough. For a condo or townhouse complex, add the building and unit entrance, because Whistler Village is built around a pedestrian stroll and cars stop at driveways and at the edge of the village rather than outside shops. Private homes on steep or private roads need a note too, especially in winter.
Step 2: landing, customs and the meeting point
YVR has a Domestic Terminal and an International Terminal that also handles flights from the United States. After a domestic flight you walk straight to baggage claim. After a US or international flight you clear Canadian customs first, and on a winter Saturday, when several long-haul flights land together, the hall can be slow.
Your chauffeur waits inside the arrivals area that matches your flight, holding a name board, and stays in touch by text. You receive the chauffeur's name and number before you fly. From there the chauffeur walks you and your bags to the vehicle, so you do not need to find a curb, a taxi stand or a ride-app zone.
For comparison: YVR's taxi page says taxis load first come, first served at stands on International Arrivals Level 2 and Domestic Arrivals Level 2, and its rideshare page says app pickups use areas on the same level and at the South Terminal. For groups, YVR's group arrivals page recommends booking an approved commercial operator and setting the pickup 45 minutes to an hour after the flight's arrival time, based on the latest flight when several are involved. That is how the desk plans Sprinter pickups for groups.
Step 3: how waiting time works
Complimentary waiting starts after a tracked landing, not at the scheduled arrival time. A normal customs queue and baggage wait is covered. If something unusual happens, such as a missing ski bag at the oversize belt or a long secondary inspection, message the chauffeur or the desk; waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost, and the desk tells you before it starts. Our airport meet and greet page explains diversions and overnight delays.
Ski bags often come off at a separate oversize belt. Tell the chauffeur when you are waiting for them so they know where you are.
Step 4: luggage, and which vehicle takes it
This is where most YVR to Whistler bookings go wrong, so count carefully. Capacities are from our fleet guide.
- Business Sedan: 3 seats, 2 standard bags. A couple travelling light, or one business traveller. Not a ski vehicle.
- Business SUV: 6 seats, 6 bags. The usual choice for a couple or family with ski or board bags. A family of four with skis fits; a family of six with skis does not.
- First Class SUV: 6 seats, 6 bags. The same space with a more refined cabin.
- Executive Sprinter: 12 seats, 12 bags. Groups with gear, and families with child seats, strollers and skis. Everything rides inside rather than on a roof.
Child seats are available on request; give ages when you book. Golf bags and boxed mountain bikes take the space of a ski bag or more. If in doubt, size up: a Business SUV with room to spare is a better start to a holiday than a sedan with skis across laps.
Step 5: the drive up the Sea-to-Sky
The route leaves the airport, crosses Vancouver and the North Shore, and joins Highway 99 at Horseshoe Bay. From there it follows Howe Sound past Squamish and climbs through the Coast Mountains to Whistler. Tourism Whistler puts YVR 135 km south of Whistler with a driving time of approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.
The road varies by season. In winter, the Province of British Columbia says drivers must obey winter tire and chain signs from October 1 to April 30, and the Sea-to-Sky is a signed route; an Elly8.net vehicle must meet that rule, and you do not drive the highway yourself. The desk checks DriveBC before mountain departures in poor weather. If the road closes after a collision, the fare does not change, and the desk contacts you to agree a plan.
Stops are easy to add if you ask at booking: a grocery stop in Squamish or Whistler, or coffee on the way. A longer stop, such as the Sea to Sky Gondola at Squamish, is better booked as an hourly chauffeur leg, from US$110 an hour in a Business Sedan with a three-hour minimum.
Flat rate vs metered, and the coach
A metered taxi. YVR's zone fares cover destinations on its zone map, and meter rates apply beyond it, which includes Whistler. Tourism Whistler notes that Whistler's taxi companies take bookings to and from the airport. BC taxis may only charge rates approved by the Passenger Transportation Board, and they cannot surge. But a meter over 135 km of mountain highway, with traffic, leaves the final number open until you arrive.
A local limousine quote. In British Columbia, limousine licensees on the Sea-to-Sky corridor must charge at least the minimum fares in the Board's Rule 20: for YVR to Whistler, C$300 for a sedan limousine, C$360 for a mid-size limousine such as an SUV or van, and C$665 for a limo bus, in either direction, before GST. The Board's Rule 18 also allows operators to add charges such as a meet and greet fee or tolls if they tell you at the time of booking. When you compare quotes, compare the total after tax and extras, and note the currency: Board minimums are in Canadian dollars, while Elly8.net prices are in US dollars with taxes, gratuity and meet and greet already included.
The coach. YVR's long-distance bus page lists the YVR Skylynx Whistler express via Squamish and Creekside, with Wi-Fi, washrooms and extra legroom, and tickets sold online or at the kiosk in Domestic Arrivals. For one person with one bag on a daytime arrival, a coach seat is usually the cheapest way up. It runs to a timetable and drops at stops rather than at your door.
| Option | Price basis | Door to door | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coach | per seat, set by the operator | no, set stops | solo travellers, light bags |
| Metered taxi | Board-approved meter, cannot surge | yes | flexible plans, no fixed budget |
| Local limousine | at least the Board minimum, plus GST and disclosed extras | yes | travellers comparing licensed quotes |
| Elly8.net Business SUV | US$485 fixed, all-in, per vehicle | yes, with meet and greet | couples and families with skis |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | US$965 fixed, all-in, per vehicle | yes, with meet and greet | groups with gear |
A pre-booked car wins for families with child seats and skis, groups who would otherwise buy many coach seats, late arrivals after the last scheduled departure, and anyone who wants the total cost fixed before the trip. The return: Whistler to YVR
The fare is the same in reverse. YVR advises arriving at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before US and international flights, and US flights clear US Customs and Border Protection at YVR before departure. Add the 2 hours 20 minute clear-road drive and a buffer for Sunday afternoon traffic in ski season, and most departure pickups from Whistler are set five to six hours before a US flight. Our Whistler airport transfer guide covers departure planning, Seattle and Bellingham, and the heliport in detail.
Coming from downtown Vancouver instead of the airport? Our Vancouver to Whistler comparison covers hotel pickups, the coach and driving yourself. The Vancouver car service page has the 10-hour Sea-to-Sky day trip from US$1,015 for a day visit without an overnight stay.

Frequently asked questions
How long is the drive from YVR to Whistler?
About 2 hours 20 minutes on a clear road for roughly 135 km (84 mi). Snow, weekend volume or a closure on Highway 99 can add time, and the fixed fare stays the same. Tourism Whistler gives 2 to 2.5 hours as the usual range.
Where will my driver meet me at YVR?
Inside the arrivals area for your flight, domestic or international, holding a name board. The chauffeur tracks the flight, so an early or late landing is covered, and you receive their name and number before you fly. They walk you to the vehicle, so there is no curb or app zone to find.
How much luggage fits?
A Business Sedan takes 3 passengers and 2 standard bags, so it is not a ski vehicle. A Business SUV takes 6 passengers and 6 bags, and an Executive Sprinter 12 and 12. Ski and board bags count as bags. Tell the desk what is travelling and we confirm the fit.
Is the YVR to Whistler price per person?
No. Every Elly8.net fare is per vehicle: US$485 for a Business SUV whether one or six people ride. Dividing the fare by your group is only a way to compare it with buying coach seats; the booking is always one fixed fare for the vehicle, with taxes and standard gratuity included.
What happens if the Sea-to-Sky Highway closes?
The price does not change. The desk watches DriveBC and contacts you to agree a plan, whether that means waiting for the reopening or moving the pickup. For departures, we set a buffer so a slow southbound drive does not threaten your flight.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free more than 72 hours before pickup, 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, refunded to the original card. If your flight changes, tell the desk early.
