An FLL car service on Elly8.net is a fixed-price pickup at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport: US$120 to Fort Lauderdale Beach in a Business Sedan, US$160 in a Business SUV and US$315 in an Executive Sprinter, all-in. The flight is tracked, the chauffeur meets you inside arrivals with a name board, and complimentary waiting after a tracked landing covers a slow bag belt or an early arrival.
The airport is compact, but its arrivals curb has been rebuilt in stages, and the pickup areas for taxis, app rides, hotel shuttles and pre-booked cars are all in different places. This guide explains how a pre-booked pickup actually works at FLL, how waiting is handled, what fits in each vehicle, and how a flat rate compares with the published taxi estimates, including where a taxi is the better deal.
How does an FLL car service pickup work?
You book with your flight number, the desk tracks the flight, and the chauffeur waits inside arrivals at your terminal with a name board. After you collect your bags, the chauffeur walks you to the designated pickup area on the lower level and drives you to your hotel at the fixed price you booked.
The rest of this guide fills in each step, because the details are what make an arrival calm: where you walk, how long the chauffeur waits, and what happens when the flight changes.

The airport in one paragraph
FLL has four terminals in a row along Terminal Drive, numbered 1 to 4. Departures are on the upper level and arrivals and baggage claim on the lower level. Broward County runs the airport and publishes the current ground transportation layout on its FLL ground transportation page. Pre-booked limousines, sedans and vans pick up in designated areas on the lower-level curb, following the transportation wayfinding signs, and the county staffs Ground Transportation Booths in each terminal's baggage claim during peak arrival periods.
Step by step: from the gate to the car
1. Before you fly. Book with the flight number, the hotel address and an honest count of passengers and bags. If you are going to a cruise, add the ship's name; if you need child seats, give each child's age and weight.
2. In the air. The desk tracks the flight. An early landing, a delay or a gate change moves the pickup automatically, so you do not need to message anyone before you land.
3. Landing. Follow the signs to baggage claim on the lower level. Your chauffeur is waiting inside the arrivals area of your terminal with a name board. If you cannot see the board, call the 24/7 desk number in your confirmation email before walking outside.
4. Bags. Collect your luggage at your own pace. Complimentary waiting after a tracked landing means the clock is not running while the carousel turns.
5. The walk out. The chauffeur takes the bags and walks you to the designated pickup area for pre-booked vehicles on the lower level. This is separate from the taxi podiums and the app ride zones, which is the main practical difference from on-demand options.
6. The drive. FLL to Fort Lauderdale Beach is about 8 mi (12 km), roughly 19 minutes on a clear road. On a Friday afternoon, a cruise turnaround morning or boat show week, allow 30 to 40 minutes. The fare does not change.
Why the curb matters at FLL
The airport has been rebuilding parts of the arrivals roadway, and some curb areas have moved. The county notes that the ground transportation pickup area east of Terminal 4 (GTA 4) closed in April 2025 and the area serving Terminals 2 and 3 (GTA 2) closed in March 2025 until further notice, to build a post-security walkway linking Terminals 2 and 3. Hotel and parking shuttles were redirected to the remaining areas.
App rides have moved too. Ride-share pickups are on the lower level: an area near Terminal 2, a temporary area for Terminal 1 just beyond the taxi podium, and the first floor of the southern Palm Garage for Terminals 3 and 4, reached by a pedestrian crosswalk, according to Broward County's ride-sharing page. With a family and a luggage trolley, the walk across to the garage is worth knowing about before you order.
A chauffeur who has checked the layout that week and walks you to the car is the simplest way through all of that.
How waiting works
Waiting is where many airport transfers go wrong, so it is worth being precise about how Elly8.net handles it.
- Before landing. Because the flight is tracked, an early or late arrival does not cost you anything; the pickup simply follows the actual landing.
- After landing. You get complimentary waiting after a tracked landing, which covers deplaning, a long walk from a remote gate, international arrivals clearing customs and a slow bag belt.
- Beyond the included time. If you need much longer, for example a lost bag claim, waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost. Tell the desk, and the chauffeur stays.
- If something goes wrong. Missed connection, diversion or a cancelled flight: call the 24/7 desk and the pickup is moved to the new flight.
Airport parking for the chauffeur's wait is billed at cost, like tolls.
Luggage by vehicle
The vehicle is decided by bags as much as people. These are the capacities on the Elly8.net fleet page, with the fixed FLL to Fort Lauderdale Beach fares:
| Vehicle | Passengers | Bags | FLL to the beach | Round trip | Typical traveller |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$120 | US$230 | Business trip, a couple |
| Business SUV / Van | up to 6 | 6 | US$160 | US$305 | Family, golf bags |
| First Class SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$195 | US$375 | Family wanting the premium SUV |
| First Class Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$210 | US$400 | Executives, anniversaries |
| Executive Sprinter | up to 12 | 12 | US$315 | US$600 | Cruise families, yacht crews, groups |
Cruise luggage is bigger than most people expect, so a family of four sailing for a week is usually happier in an SUV than a sedan. For crews and groups heading to the marinas, see our Fort Lauderdale Sprinter van rental guide.
Flat rate or metered: the honest numbers
Broward County regulates taxi fares by law and publishes estimates from FLL for a standard taxi and a luxury sedan. They are estimates, they can vary, and taxi rates are subject to a fuel surcharge:
| From FLL to | County taxi estimate | County luxury sedan estimate | Elly8.net |
|---|---|---|---|
| Port Everglades | US$18 to US$21 | US$45 | priced in the web booker |
| Miami International | US$72 | US$90 | priced in the web booker |
| South Beach, Miami | US$80 | US$85 | see the Miami price list |
| PortMiami | US$86 | US$90 | priced in the web booker |
| West Palm Beach International | US$135 | US$145 | priced in the web booker |
| Fort Lauderdale Beach | not listed | not listed | US$120 sedan to US$315 Sprinter |
Read those numbers fairly. For the short hop to Port Everglades, a taxi at around US$20 is excellent value for two people with ordinary bags, and we would not argue otherwise. The county's luxury sedan estimates are also lower than many pre-booked fares, including ours on some routes.
What a fixed Elly8.net price adds is in the details: the chauffeur waits inside arrivals rather than at a podium, the flight is tracked, gratuity and taxes are already included, the car is the size you booked, and child seats are fitted on request. On that last point, the county warns that the airport and its transportation providers cannot provide child safety seats, and Florida law, section 316.613, requires a crash-tested restraint for children 5 and younger. For families, that alone often decides it. Our chauffeur vs taxi guide covers the general comparison, and the Fort Lauderdale airport shuttle comparison looks at the shuttle and train options.
Where FLL pickups go
Most arrivals head to one of five places, each with its own quirks:
- Fort Lauderdale Beach and A1A. The hotels between Las Olas and Sunrise Boulevard. Our airport fare is quoted to the beach.
- Las Olas Boulevard and Downtown. Restaurants and the Riverwalk; Las Olas Boulevard is valet-heavy, so the chauffeur drops at the door.
- Port Everglades. About 1.8 miles from FLL, according to the port. Everyone 18 and over needs government-issued photo ID at the port security checkpoint, per Port Everglades' arriving and departing guide, and the port asks passengers to arrive at their cruise line's assigned check-in time, not earlier.
- Hollywood and Dania Beach. South of the airport, including the Seminole Hard Rock area.
- Palm Beach or Miami. Longer drives priced in the web booker; see Palm Beach car service and Miami car service.
Late-night and early-morning arrivals
Night arrivals are where a booked car earns its fare. The Ground Transportation Booths are staffed during peak arrival periods rather than all night, the Brightline airport connector shuttle runs only from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the taxi line and app ride zones depend on how many drivers are around at that hour. A pre-booked chauffeur is already assigned, already tracking the flight and already inside arrivals when you come down the escalator.
The same logic applies to the 5 a.m. departure for the first flight north. Book the pickup the night before, with the terminal and flight number, and the car is at the hotel driveway at the agreed time, at the same fixed price as a midday ride.
Departures: the same fare back
Every one-way airport fare is the same fixed price in either direction, so Fort Lauderdale Beach to FLL is also US$120 in a Business Sedan. The chauffeur drops at your terminal on the upper level (Departures). From the beach, we usually suggest leaving about 2 hours and 15 minutes before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international one, more on Friday afternoons and boat show week.
Business travellers and accounts
For regular FLL travel, a corporate account gives fixed fares, monthly invoicing and NDAs on request, and the desk can hold standing bookings for weekly flights. Our Fort Lauderdale executive car service guide explains how companies set that up. For airport pickups in other cities, see airport transfers and airport meet and greet.
Rides in Fort Lauderdale are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer. Elly8.net is a member of LimousineWorldwide.Directory and LimousineAssociation.International.
Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; at 72 hours or less the charge is 10%, at 48 hours or less 50%, and at 24 hours or less or a no-show 100%, refunded to the original card.
Frequently asked questions
How much is an FLL car service to Fort Lauderdale Beach?
On Elly8.net, US$120 in a Business Sedan, US$160 in a Business SUV, US$195 in a First Class SUV, US$210 in a First Class Sedan and US$315 in an Executive Sprinter, fixed and all-in per vehicle. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost.
Where does my driver wait at FLL?
Inside the arrivals area of your terminal on the lower level, holding a name board. After you collect your bags, the chauffeur walks you to the designated pickup area for pre-booked vehicles on the lower-level curb, separate from the taxi podiums and the app ride zones.
How long will the chauffeur wait if my flight is late?
The flight is tracked, so a delay simply moves the pickup to the actual landing time at no charge. After landing you get complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. If you need much longer, such as for a lost bag report, the extra waiting is billed at cost.
Is a taxi cheaper from FLL?
For some trips, yes. The county's taxi estimate to Port Everglades is US$18 to US$21, which is good value for two people. A pre-booked car is the better choice for families who need child seats, large groups, late arrivals and anyone who wants the chauffeur waiting inside arrivals.
Can you meet me if I arrive on an international flight?
Yes. Add the flight number, and the desk tracks it. International arrivals clear customs before baggage claim, which can take a while, and complimentary waiting after a tracked landing covers that. Your chauffeur waits inside arrivals with a name board.
Do you provide child seats at FLL?
Yes, on request when you book. Give each child's age and weight so the right seat is fitted before pickup. The county notes that the airport and its transportation providers cannot provide child seats, and Florida law requires one for children 5 and younger.
