FLL to Miami Beach is about 27 mi (43 km) by road, roughly 41 minutes on a clear road and often more than an hour on I-95 at rush hour. With an Elly8.net car service the fare is flat and fixed before you fly: US$255 in a business sedan, US$335 in a business SUV and US$665 in a 12-seat Executive Sprinter, all-in with the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and airport meet and greet.

Many Miami Beach visitors land at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International because the airfare is lower or the flight times are better. This guide explains what that choice means on the ground: the drive south, the terminal you will arrive in, where your driver waits, and an honest comparison with the taxi and the other options. Rides in Miami are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.

How long is the drive from FLL to Miami Beach?

On a clear road, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International (FLL) to Miami Beach is about 27 mi (43 km) and 41 minutes. On weekday rush hours, Friday evenings and big Miami weekends, plan for 60 to 90 minutes. The flat Elly8.net fare stays the same however long the drive takes.

The drive runs south from the airport on I-95 through Hollywood, Aventura and North Miami, then east across the bay on a causeway to the island. Where you are staying on Miami Beach changes the last part of the route. Bal Harbour, Surfside and Sunny Isles sit at the northern end, closer to FLL than South Beach is; South Beach and South Pointe are at the far end, with the most traffic on the way in.

The peak column is desk guidance for scheduling, not a promise. For the return trip to FLL, the desk works back from your airline's recommended arrival time and adds a buffer for I-95.

The fare includes the chauffeur, the vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost; I-95's express lanes are tolled, and the chauffeur uses them when they save meaningful time. A round trip booked together covers the drive back to FLL at the end of your stay.

The honest maths on airports: if you have not booked your flight yet, compare the total. From Miami International (MIA), the same trip to Miami Beach is US$180 in a business sedan, so FLL costs US$75 more in ground transport in that class. If the FLL airfare saves more than that for your party, Fort Lauderdale is still the better deal. Our guide to Miami airport to South Beach by private car covers the MIA side.

Meeting your driver at FLL, terminal by terminal

FLL has four terminals in a row along the airport's loop road, numbered 1 to 4, with arrivals and baggage claim on the lower level. Broward County, which runs the airport, publishes the current curb layout on its FLL ground transportation page, and the desk checks it before your flight, because parts of the arrivals roadway have been under construction.

The routine with a pre-booked chauffeur is the same in every terminal:

  1. Your flight is tracked. Add the flight number when you book, and the chauffeur's timing follows the actual landing.
  2. You collect your bags. The chauffeur waits inside the arrivals area of your terminal with a name board. Complimentary waiting applies after a tracked landing, so there is no need to rush the carousel.
  3. You walk out together. The chauffeur takes the luggage and walks you to the pre-arranged pickup area on the lower level.

That is different from the on-demand options, which have their own spots. According to Broward County, taxi podiums sit on the lower level at each terminal, at the west end of Terminal 1 and Terminal 4, the east end of Terminal 2 and the north end of Terminal 3. Ride-share pickups are in designated areas along the lower-level curb, including a temporary area for Terminal 1 just beyond the taxi podium and an area near Terminal 2, with others signposted for the remaining terminals. With bags and children, a chauffeur who walks you to the car saves the hunt for the right zone.

If you cannot see your chauffeur, call the 24/7 desk number in your confirmation email. Our airport meet and greet page describes the arrivals routine in more detail.

FLL to Miami Beach: taxi, ride app, train or car?

Broward County publishes taxi estimates from FLL, which makes a fair comparison possible. Its taxi page lists about US$80 by taxi and US$85 by luxury sedan from FLL to South Beach, and notes that the figures are estimates that can change, including with fuel surcharges.

OptionPrice to Miami BeachWhere you find itBest for
Broward taxiabout US$80 county estimatetaxi podium at your terminalone or two travellers, light bags

Train plus a second ridetrain fare per person, plus a car or taxi at the Miami endfree shuttles from the terminalssolo travellers, daytime, light bags

Elly8.net Executive SprinterUS$665 fixed, all-ininside arrivals, name boardgroups up to 12 with luggage

The fair verdict: for one or two travellers with light bags, the county's taxi estimate is well below our business sedan fare, and a taxi is a sensible choice. Rail works too, with a change: Broward County runs free shuttles from the terminals to the Tri-Rail station at Dania Beach, and Brightline runs an airport connector shuttle from 7 am to 8 pm at a flat per-person fare, but neither train reaches Miami Beach itself, so you still need a ride across the bay.

A pre-booked car is the better call when the flight lands at midnight, when a family needs child seats fitted before arrival, when four people and six cases need one vehicle, when the drive coincides with a big Miami weekend, or when you would rather know the total before you fly. Our chauffeur vs taxi and chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft comparisons set out the trade-offs.

Arriving on Miami Beach

Tell the desk the hotel or building name and the entrance. Hotels on Collins Avenue often share busy valet lanes on weekend evenings, and some smaller properties have no driveway at all, so the chauffeur may stop on a side street and carry the bags to the door. Residences in Sunny Isles and Bal Harbour usually have a concierge or a gated drive; add any instructions so there is no wait at the barrier.

Busy weeks on the beach deserve early booking. Art Basel Miami Beach runs December 4 to 6, 2026 (artbasel.com), and the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show follows on February 10 to 14, 2027, with the Miami Beach Convention Center as one of its hubs. During those weeks, flights into FLL are popular precisely because MIA is so busy, and the drive south takes longer. The Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau lists what is on while you are in town.

Families, groups and cruise passengers

Families are the travellers who gain most from a pre-booked car on this route. Child seats are available on request; add each child's age when you book and the seat is fitted before the chauffeur meets you. A business SUV takes up to 6 passengers and 6 bags, and an Executive Sprinter up to 12 passengers and 12 bags, so the family, the grandparents and the luggage travel together.

If your trip ends on a ship, the transfer from your Miami Beach hotel to PortMiami is a short one; our cruise port transfers page explains how we time it by terminal. Travellers heading to downtown or Brickell rather than the beach should read FLL to Miami by private car, and if you are staying in Broward first, our Fort Lauderdale car service page has the local fixed prices.

How to book FLL to Miami Beach

  1. Enter FLL with your flight number as the pickup and your Miami Beach address as the drop-off. Add a return flight for a round trip.

  3. Press Reserve now on the fixed price, or use the web booker for any other address. Confirmation arrives by email with the 24/7 desk number.

Every Miami price is on our Miami limo service page, and our airport transfers page explains flight tracking at every airport we serve.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a car service from FLL to Miami Beach?

A flat, all-in Elly8.net fare from FLL to Miami Beach is US$255 in a business sedan, US$335 in a business SUV, US$410 in a First Class SUV, US$450 in a First Class sedan and US$665 in an Executive Sprinter. Prices are per vehicle and include gratuity; tolls and parking are billed at cost.

How much is a taxi from Fort Lauderdale airport to South Beach?

Broward County's published estimate is about US$80 by taxi and about US$85 by luxury sedan from FLL to South Beach. The county notes these are estimates that can vary, including with fuel surcharges. For one or two travellers with light bags, a taxi is cheaper than a private car.

Where will my driver meet me at FLL?

Inside the arrivals area of your terminal, holding a name board, after you collect your bags. The chauffeur then walks you to the pre-arranged pickup area on the lower level. Your flight is tracked, and complimentary waiting applies after a tracked landing, so a delay does not cost you anything.

Is it better to fly into MIA or FLL for Miami Beach?

The drive from MIA is shorter, about 15 mi (24 km) against about 27 mi (43 km), and our business sedan fare is US$180 from MIA against US$255 from FLL. If the FLL airfare saves your party more than the difference, Fort Lauderdale is still the better total. Compare flight plus ground transport.

What happens if my flight into FLL is delayed?

Nothing changes on your side. Every airport pickup is flight-tracked, so the chauffeur adjusts to the actual landing time, and complimentary waiting applies after a tracked landing. If the airline moves you to a different flight or a different day, send the new flight number to the 24/7 desk and we move the booking.

Can you take a family with car seats from FLL to Miami Beach?

Yes. Child seats are available on request; add the number of seats and each child's age when you book, and they are fitted before pickup. A business SUV seats up to 6 with 6 bags, and an Executive Sprinter up to 12 with 12 bags, so everyone travels in one vehicle.
