Fort Myers airport (RSW) to downtown Naples is about 34 miles (55 km), roughly an hour on a clear road down I-75 and 75 to 90 minutes in season or at rush hour. An airport taxi to downtown Naples is a regulated zone fare of US$72 for up to four passengers, including tolls. A pre-booked Elly8.net car is fixed at US$285 in a Business Sedan up to US$745 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle and all-in, with the chauffeur waiting inside arrivals.
That is a big gap, and we would rather say it plainly: for two travellers with standard bags arriving in daylight, the RSW taxi is good value. A booked car earns its price for late arrivals, families who need child seats installed, golf bags and big luggage, groups, addresses outside the taxi zones, gated communities and anyone who needs one invoice. This guide covers the drive, the fares, the meeting points and the choice.
How long is the drive from Fort Myers airport to Naples?
RSW to downtown Naples is about 34 miles (55 km), roughly 59 minutes on a clear road via I-75. In the winter season, on Friday afternoons and at rush hour, plan on 75 to 90 minutes, especially for beachfront addresses west of US 41. A fixed fare does not change with the drive time.
The route is simple: out of the airport, south on I-75 through Estero and Bonita Springs, and off at one of the Naples exits toward the Gulf. The slow parts are usually the interstate itself in season and the last few miles on the north-south roads toward the beaches. The Florida Department of Transportation's FL511 traveller information shows live conditions on I-75 if you want to check before you land.
The regulated RSW taxi fare
At RSW, on-demand taxis do not use meters. According to the Lee County Port Authority's on-demand taxi page, zones define rates, the Port Authority regulates them, and drivers cannot exceed the rates on the airport's Taxicab Zone Map. The page also says:
- Rates are valid for up to four passengers; each additional passenger is US$10.
- There is no extra charge for child safety seats, service animals or crated animals.
- Rates include any toll charges.
- Fares to destinations outside the zone map must be commercially reasonable and agreed with you before you leave the curb.
- The regulated rates apply from the airport to your destination only.
On the zone map, effective January 23, 2024, downtown Naples falls in the US$72 zone, and Marco Island in the US$93 zone, which includes the bridge toll. The airport notes that the map shows approximate boundaries, so confirm your zone with the dispatcher. On-demand service is provided by independently permitted drivers and needs no reservation.
Uber and Lyft from RSW to Naples
App rides pick up on RSW's arrivals level, with signs to guide you, according to the airport's ground transportation page. How much an Uber from RSW to Naples costs is set by the app at the moment you request it and moves with demand, so there is no fixed figure to publish. On a quiet afternoon it may compare well with the taxi zone fare; on a busy season evening, when many flights land at once, it is likely to cost more. Compare the app quote with the US$72 taxi zone fare before you choose.
The LeeTran bus
For a solo traveller on a tight budget, LeeTran serves the airport. The Port Authority's public transportation page says the airport stop is on the lower level of the parking garage at Stop 3, buses run to a transfer point at Daniels Parkway and US 41 in Fort Myers, and service runs from 7:32 a.m. to 9:54 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 8:19 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, with seasonal changes. It is a Fort Myers connection, so reaching Naples involves further transfers; check LeeTran's routes before relying on it.
Meeting your Elly8.net driver at RSW
- At booking, add your flight number, the Naples address, passenger count and bags, and any child seats.
- On landing, the chauffeur tracks your actual arrival time. Winter flights from the Northeast and Midwest are often delayed by weather at the origin, and the pickup simply moves.
- In baggage claim, your chauffeur waits inside arrivals with a name board and helps with bags.
- At the car, the chauffeur walks you to the vehicle. The airport places pre-arranged taxis and limousines on the lower level outside Bag Claim in the parking garage, across from Doors 2 and 5.
- On the way, an hour down I-75, with complimentary waiting after a tracked landing already behind you.
Rides in Naples, Florida are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Our meet and greet and airport transfers pages explain how meetings work across the network.

|---|---|---|---|
| Price to downtown Naples | US$72 for up to 4, tolls included | Set at request, varies | US$285 to US$745 per vehicle, fixed |

| Golf bags and big luggage | Depends on the cab | Depends on the car | Sized to your bags at booking |
Take the taxi if you are one to four people with standard bags, landing in daylight, going to a downtown or central address, and price is the priority. It is a regulated, all-tolls-included fare, and that is genuinely good value for this distance.
Book a car if you land late in season, travel with children and want seats installed before you arrive, carry golf clubs or a winter's worth of luggage, are a group of five or more, are going to a gated community or a beachfront address with specific access instructions, have a meeting or a tee time on arrival, or need the trip on a corporate account with monthly invoicing. For a group of twelve in a Sprinter, the US$745 fare works out, as arithmetic for comparison only, at about US$62 each.
Our chauffeur vs taxi guide covers the same trade-offs in other cities.
Where in Naples are you going?
"Naples" on a booking can mean very different trips from RSW, and the drive time changes with it:
- Bonita Springs and North Naples. The first exits off I-75, closest to the airport. Shopping and offices around Mercato sit near the Collier and Lee county line.
- Pelican Bay, Park Shore and Vanderbilt Beach. The resort and condo stretch along the Gulf, west of US 41, where hotel driveways are large but the last miles off the interstate are slow in season.
- Downtown, Old Naples and the pier. Fifth Avenue South, Third Street South and the quiet streets toward the Gulf. This is the address the fixed downtown fare is quoted to.
- Port Royal and Aqualane Shores. Waterfront estates south of downtown with gated entries; send gate codes or the house manager's number with the booking.
- Marco Island. About 17 miles (28 km) south of downtown, roughly half an hour more on a clear road, priced by address in the web booker.
For gated communities and private clubs, the chauffeur needs the guard-house instructions in advance, which is one of the quieter reasons residents book a car rather than a taxi.
The shorter alternative: Naples Airport (APF)
Naples Airport is only about 4 miles (7 km) from downtown, roughly 9 minutes on a clear road, and the Elly8.net fare is fixed from US$130 in a Business Sedan to US$340 in an Executive Sprinter. It is mainly a busy general aviation airport, and scheduled service is returning: the Naples Airport Authority announced in October 2026 that American Airlines will begin twice-daily nonstops between Naples and Charlotte on December 2, using 65-seat regional jets. For travellers connecting through Charlotte, that may replace the RSW drive entirely. For private flights, give the desk your tail number and FBO; see private jet and FBO car service.
After the airport
Naples visits are often spread out across the week: dinners on Fifth Avenue South and Third Street South, golf, and evenings at Artis–Naples. Hourly service starts at US$100 in a Business Sedan with a 3-hour minimum, and the evening out and event night package at US$500. The area's official tourism site, Florida's Paradise Coast, lists what is on. Full prices are on the Naples car service page, and the hourly chauffeur page explains how waiting works.
If your trip continues across the state, our Palm Beach airport car service guide covers DJT, and chauffeur service in West Palm Beach covers the Atlantic side. Fixed prices are also ready for Tampa car service up the Gulf coast and Fort Lauderdale car service across Alligator Alley.
Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup, 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, with refunds to the original card.
