A San Antonio airport car service takes the guesswork out of landing at SAT: the chauffeur tracks your flight, waits inside at baggage claim in whichever terminal you arrive, takes the bags and drives you the 13 miles (20 km) to the River Walk. On Elly8.net that trip is a fixed, all-in fare of US$150 in a Business Sedan, US$195 in a Business SUV, US$240 in a First Class SUV, US$265 in a First Class Sedan and US$390 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle.
The details matter more at SAT than at many airports. There are two terminals side by side, the walk-up options all gather at Terminal A, and the airport is partway through the biggest construction programme in its history. This guide covers meet and greet, luggage, booking tips and the honest alternatives.
How does meet and greet work at San Antonio airport?
With an Elly8.net SAT car service, the chauffeur tracks your flight and waits inside the terminal at baggage claim with a name board, in Terminal A or Terminal B. After you collect your bags, the chauffeur takes them and walks you to the car. Complimentary waiting after a tracked landing is included in the fixed fare.
That last point matters on the connections many San Antonio travellers use through Dallas, Houston or Denver. If an inbound flight is late, the pickup moves with it; if you are rebooked onto another flight, tell the desk the new flight number. See how airport meet and greet works across our cities.

Terminal A, Terminal B and the construction
San Antonio International has two terminals, A and B, next to each other. The airport's terminal maps show the layout. According to the airport's terminal development page, the programme is the largest capital improvement programme in the city's history:
- A three-gate Terminal A ground-load facility opened in March 2026.
- Terminal C, with 18 new domestic and international gates, broke ground in December 2024 and is set to open in mid-2028, with a new parking garage and Ground Transportation Center connected by an enclosed walkway.
- Upgrades to Terminals A and B are projected for completion by mid-2028, and the curbside and roadways are being realigned.
For an arriving passenger, this means roadways and curbs may look different from one visit to the next. A chauffeur who meets you inside, then brings you to the car, removes the need to find the right curb yourself.
The walk-up options are concentrated at Terminal A. The airport says taxis wait at the outer commercial curbside of Terminal A, and rideshare drivers meet customers on the outer commercial curbside, lower level, of Terminal A. If you land at Terminal B, that means a walk next door with your bags; with meet and greet, the chauffeur comes to your terminal.
Which vehicle fits your luggage
Seats are rarely the problem; bags are. These are the capacities listed on our fleet page, with the fixed SAT to River Walk fare.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Bags | SAT to the River Walk | Round trip |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$150 | US$285 |
| First Class Sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$265 | US$505 |
| Business SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$195 | US$375 |
| First Class SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$240 | US$460 |
| Executive Sprinter | up to 12 | 12 | US$390 | US$745 |
Practical rules from our desk:
- Two people with two large cases and two carry-ons: the sedan works, just.
- Three people with a large case each: book an SUV. The sedan's two-bag limit is the constraint, not the seats.
- A family with a stroller and child seats: an SUV, with the seats requested at booking and fitted before pickup.
- Golf bags, hunting cases, musical instruments or trade-show boxes: say so in the notes. An SUV or a Sprinter, chosen in advance, avoids a second car.
- A conference team or wedding party: an Executive Sprinter for up to twelve with twelve bags, one price for the vehicle.
Because the fare is per vehicle, a full SUV or Sprinter often costs less per traveller than separate cars. For comparison only, US$390 for a Sprinter shared by twelve is US$32.50 each; the booking is always charged per vehicle.
Booking tips that make the pickup smooth
Give the flight number, not just the time. The chauffeur tracks the flight number, which is how a delay or an early arrival is handled without a phone call.
Tell us the terminal if you know it. The flight number usually tells us, but airline gate changes happen. Either way, the chauffeur meets you at baggage claim.
Count the bags honestly. Include carry-ons that will not fit on a lap. The vehicle is assigned by passengers and bags.
Name the hotel entrance. Many River Walk hotels have a street entrance and a river-level entrance. The car drops at street level, so give the hotel name and, if you know it, the entrance you want.
Ask for child seats at booking. Give the ages and the number of seats. They are fitted before the chauffeur leaves for the airport.
Book the return at the same time. One-way airport fares are the same fixed price in either direction, and a round trip booked together costs less than two one-ways.
For military visits, check access first. San Antonio has a large military presence, and base visits follow the installation's own access rules. Confirm the gate and visitor arrangements with your host before you book a drop-off on a base.
Where SAT arrivals go
The fixed fare covers the River Walk. Other addresses are priced by exact location in the web booker, fixed before you pay. Clear-road estimates from SAT:
| From SAT to | Distance | Clear-road drive |
|---|---|---|
| Alamo Heights | about 7 mi (11 km) | about 17 min |
| The Pearl | about 11 mi (17 km) | about 19 min |
| Stone Oak | about 10 mi (16 km) | about 20 min |
| The Medical Center area | about 10 mi (17 km) | about 22 min |
| The River Walk | about 13 mi (20 km) | about 22 min |
| La Cantera and the Rim area | about 13 mi (20 km) | about 25 min |
| Boerne | about 28 mi (45 km) | about 42 min |
| Gruene and New Braunfels | about 30 mi (48 km) | about 43 min |
| Fredericksburg | about 67 mi (107 km) | about 1 hr 23 min |
The Pearl, the former brewery district on the river north of downtown, is home to Hotel Emma and a busy calendar of markets and events. For Hill Country stays in Boerne or Fredericksburg, a direct airport run avoids a rental car for the week; the Hill Country day trip package, eight hours from US$700 in a Business Sedan, covers a winery day once you are settled. Our San Antonio private driver guide covers trips around the city after you arrive.
Taxi, VIA bus, rideshare or a booked car
San Antonio publishes its airport taxi and bus fares, which makes a fair comparison straightforward.
| Option | Published price | Where | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Taxi | downtown from US$24 to US$29 per cab, metered | outer commercial curb, Terminal A | one to four people with normal bags, off-peak |
| VIA Route 5 | US$1.30 | far west end of Terminal B, lower roadway | a solo traveller with light bags |
| App ride | app price, varies with demand | outer commercial curb, lower level, Terminal A | short notice at quiet times |
| Elly8.net Business Sedan | US$150 fixed, all-in | chauffeur inside at baggage claim | late flights, fixed budgets |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | US$390 fixed, all-in | chauffeur inside at baggage claim | groups and teams |
The airport's taxi page lists a US$3.50 initial drop, US$2.70 per additional mile after the first, US$0.40 per minute of waiting, a US$1.25 airport departure fee, a US$20 minimum from the airport and a US$1 night surcharge from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. It also says up to six may share a cab if bags and passengers fit safely. The public transportation page says VIA Route 5 reaches downtown in about 30 minutes for US$1.30, and a VIA day pass is US$2.75.
That makes the taxi genuinely good value for one or two people heading downtown at a quiet hour, and the bus the budget choice for a solo traveller. We would tell a friend the same. A booked car earns its fare with a fixed price set before you fly, a chauffeur inside rather than a curbside queue, a terminal B arrival without the walk, child seats fitted, room for a family's luggage, or one vehicle for a group. Our chauffeur vs taxi and chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft guides cover the general trade-offs.
Rides in San Antonio are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer.
Departures
The trip back to SAT costs the same fixed price as the arrival. The chauffeur collects you at the hotel at the agreed time, helps with bags and drops you at your terminal. With the roadway work under way, allow a little extra time on the approach, and more on Fiesta weekends: Fiesta San Antonio runs April 15 to 25 in 2027, and parade routes close downtown streets.
Business and group arrivals
Conference teams heading to the Henry B. González Convention Center, executives with a meeting soon after landing and wedding parties arriving together all book the same way. A corporate car service account adds monthly invoicing, saved traveller profiles and NDAs on request. Several vehicles can be booked under one reference with one contact at the 24/7 desk. Full details of every San Antonio package are on the San Antonio page, and the airport transfers page covers how we handle airports in every city.
Travelling on after San Antonio? Austin and Houston are the nearest Elly8.net cities, with fixed airport fares of their own, and a city to city car service is quoted by address. Flying on to Oklahoma City later in the trip, our OKC airport car service guide explains how pickups work there.
Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; 10% applies at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, refunded to the original card.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a car service from San Antonio airport to the River Walk?
The fixed, all-in fare is US$150 in a Business Sedan, US$195 in a Business SUV, US$240 in a First Class SUV, US$265 in a First Class Sedan and US$390 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle. It includes taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet. Tolls and parking are billed at cost.
Where does the chauffeur meet me at SAT?
Inside the terminal at baggage claim, with a name board, in Terminal A or Terminal B. The chauffeur tracks your flight number and adjusts to the actual landing time, then takes your bags and walks you to the car. Complimentary waiting after a tracked landing is included.
Which vehicle should I book for my luggage?
A sedan takes up to three passengers and two bags, an SUV six passengers and six bags, and an Executive Sprinter twelve passengers and twelve bags. If three of you each bring a large case, book the SUV. Mention golf bags, instruments or boxes in the notes so the right vehicle is sent.
Is a taxi cheaper than a car service from SAT?
For one or two people going downtown with light bags, usually yes: the airport lists downtown taxi fares starting at US$24 to US$29 per cab, metered. A booked car costs more but is fixed before you fly, meets you inside at either terminal, fits child seats and carries a whole family or group in one vehicle.
Will the construction at SAT affect my pickup?
Roadways and curbs are being realigned as part of the airport's development programme, with Terminal C set to open in mid-2028. Meet and greet means you do not need to find the right curb yourself: the chauffeur meets you at baggage claim and takes you to the car.
Can you take us straight to the Hill Country?
Yes. Boerne is about 42 minutes from SAT on a clear road, Gruene about 43 minutes and Fredericksburg about an hour and twenty minutes. The web booker prices the exact address before you pay. Once settled, the eight-hour Hill Country day trip runs from US$700 in a Business Sedan.
