An Edmonton airport limo booked through Elly8.net is a chauffeur waiting for you inside the arrivals area at Edmonton International Airport (YEG), holding a name board, with your flight tracked and the price fixed before you land. A YEG to downtown Edmonton transfer costs from US$155 in a business sedan, US$205 in a business SUV and US$405 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle and all-in, for a drive of about 32 km (20 mi) and roughly 35 minutes on a clear road.
That is different from the airport's own limo rank, which works on a walk-up flat rate at the curb. Both are good options; they suit different trips. This guide from the Elly8.net desk walks through a YEG arrival step by step, explains the luggage each vehicle carries, compares flat rates with a fixed booked fare, and lists the details that make the pickup go smoothly.
How does airport meet and greet work at YEG?
Your chauffeur tracks the flight number on your booking and waits inside the arrivals area with a name board once you have collected your bags. Waiting is complimentary after a tracked landing, so a late flight or a slow belt costs nothing extra. The chauffeur then walks you to the car and loads the luggage.
Rides in Edmonton are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer. Our airport meet and greet page describes the meeting in every city we serve.

Your arrival, step by step
1. Before you fly. Check that the booking has your flight number and a mobile number that works in Canada. The chauffeur's details arrive by email before pickup, so you can message them when you land.
2. Landing. The chauffeur follows the flight, not the timetable. An early landing or a delay moves the pickup automatically.
3. Customs and bags. Arriving from outside Canada, you go through Canadian border services and collect your bags before you reach the arrivals area. The chauffeur waits until you come through, which is why we track the landing time rather than a fixed pickup slot.
4. The meeting. Look for your name on the board in the arrivals area. If you cannot see the chauffeur, message the number in your confirmation or call the 24/7 desk.
5. To the car. The chauffeur takes the luggage and walks you out. You do not join the curb queue.
It helps to know the airport's own layout, published on YEG's ground transportation page: taxis and the limo rank are curbside outside Door 9 on the Arrivals level, rideshare pickup is outside Door 10, car rental counters are on the ground level of the parkade outside Door 8, and the Ground Transportation Office is on the Arrivals level near Door 7. The ETS Route 747 bus departs from Door 8.
What fits in each vehicle
The most common pickup problem at any airport is too much luggage for the car. These are the capacities on our fleet page, with the YEG to downtown fare for each.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Bags | YEG to downtown | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$155 | One or two travellers with suitcases |
| First class sedan | up to 3 | 2 | US$275 | Executives, VIP arrivals |
| Business SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$205 | Families, golf or ski bags |
| First class SUV | up to 6 | 6 | US$250 | Senior executives, small delegations |
| Executive Sprinter | up to 12 | 12 | US$405 | Teams, wedding parties, tournament groups |
Oversize items. Golf bags, ski and snowboard bags, hockey equipment bags, bicycles in boxes and large instrument cases take more room than a suitcase. Tell the desk what you are carrying and we will match the vehicle; an SUV or a Sprinter is usually the answer.
Child seats. Child and booster seats are fitted on request before pickup. Give each child's age and weight when you book. In winter that means going straight from arrivals into a warm, ready car instead of fitting seats in a parkade.
Strollers and mobility aids. A folding stroller fits most SUVs with luggage; a wheelchair or a scooter needs to be mentioned at booking so the desk can confirm the right vehicle.
Flat rate at the curb or a fixed booked fare?
YEG publishes walk-up flat rates to downtown Edmonton: C$62 by taxi and C$71 by limo, both from Door 9. The City of Edmonton's vehicle-for-hire rules add a useful protection: taxis going to the airport must charge either the meter or the airport flat-rate map, whichever is less. The City also notes that limousines must be pre-booked and cannot be hailed from the street.
| Option | Price to downtown | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| ETS Route 747 bus | C$6, then the LRT from Century Park | Every 30 to 60 minutes, about 4:10 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. | One traveller, light bag, budget first |
| Taxi from the rank | C$62 flat rate, per car | Walk-up at Door 9 | One or two people, no booking |
| Limo from the rank | C$71 flat rate, per car | Walk-up at Door 9 | A little more room, no booking |
| Rideshare | Varies with demand | App pickup outside Door 10 | Flexible travellers with light bags |
| Elly8.net business sedan | US$155, fixed and all-in | Chauffeur inside arrivals, flight tracked | Late flights, meetings, a fixed budget in US$ |
| Elly8.net Executive Sprinter | US$405 for the vehicle | Same, up to 12 passengers and 12 bags | Groups who want one vehicle |
Bus details are on the City's Route 747 page: C$6 cash or tap fare, no luggage limit per passenger but space is first come, first served. Rideshare drivers at YEG must carry commercial insurance and a Class 4 licence, and cannot use the taxi stands, according to the airport.
The honest verdict: if you are one or two people landing in daylight with ordinary bags, the flat-rate taxi at C$62 is fair value and there is no need to book. A pre-booked car is the better buy for a family with car seats on a January night, four colleagues who would need two cabs, an executive who wants the car to wait outside a meeting, or a travel manager who needs every ride billed in US dollars on one invoice. Departures: getting to YEG on time
The fixed fare is the same in either direction: downtown to YEG costs the same as YEG to downtown. A round trip booked together starts at US$295 in a business sedan and US$770 in an Executive Sprinter.
Flights to the United States. YEG is one of the Canadian airports with US Customs preclearance, listed by US Customs and Border Protection. You clear US immigration in Edmonton before you board. For a morning flight to the US, we usually suggest a downtown pickup at least three hours before departure, more in winter.
Early mornings and snow. After overnight snow, the desk allows extra time on the Queen Elizabeth II Highway and confirms the pickup with you the evening before.
Domestic flights. Two hours before departure is a sensible downtown pickup for most domestic flights, longer at holiday peaks.
Group arrivals: teams, delegates and wedding guests
Groups are where a booked airport limo pays for itself most clearly, because the alternative is a line of separate cabs and a headcount on the curb.
Conference delegates. For a convention at the Edmonton Convention Centre or the EXPO Centre, we run Executive Sprinters from YEG timed to the main flight banks, with a car on call for speakers. See conference transportation.
Sports teams and tournament groups. A Sprinter carries up to 12 players with 12 bags; for hockey equipment, which is bulky, plan fewer passengers per vehicle or add an SUV for the gear.
Wedding guests. Out-of-town guests landing on the Friday can be collected in one or two Sprinters and taken to the hotel block; our Edmonton wedding limo guide covers the rest of the weekend.
Send the desk a passenger list with flight numbers, and each vehicle is matched to its flights.
Beyond downtown
Not every YEG trip goes downtown. By our routing:
- Nisku and Leduc are right beside the airport, about 7 to 10 km away, which suits energy-sector site visits.
- West Edmonton Mall is about 39 km (24 mi) from YEG.
- Sherwood Park is about 42 km (26 mi), and St. Albert about 52 km (32 mi).
The web booker prices any of these addresses before you pay. For a day of site visits from the airport, hourly chauffeur service runs from US$110 an hour in a business sedan to US$220 in a Sprinter, with a 3-hour minimum. Flying private? Give the handler's name and tail number and the chauffeur meets you at the FBO instead; see private jet and FBO transfers.
If your trip continues to the Rockies, the same service runs as our Calgary car service and Banff chauffeur, and other prairie stops are covered by our Saskatoon and Regina pages.
Booking tips that save time
- Book the right name. The name board shows the name on the booking. For a guest or an executive, enter their name, not the assistant's.
- List the bags. Count suitcases and anything oversize, and say if there is a car seat to fit.
- Use the web booker for anything off the price list. Fixed fares go straight to Reserve now; any other address goes through the web booker.
- Set up an account if you travel often. A corporate account brings monthly invoicing, fixed US-dollar fares and NDAs on request.
The local picture for longer bookings, from game nights to weddings, is in our Edmonton limo rental guide. All Edmonton fares are on the Edmonton airport car service page, and the airport transfers page covers how pickups work in every city.
Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup, 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, refunded to the original card.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a limo from Edmonton airport to downtown?
A fixed Elly8.net YEG to downtown transfer costs from US$155 in a business sedan, US$205 in a business SUV, US$250 in a first class SUV, US$275 in a first class sedan and US$405 in an Executive Sprinter, per vehicle. The price includes the chauffeur, taxes, standard gratuity and meet and greet.
Where will the chauffeur meet me at YEG?
Inside the arrivals area, holding a name board with the name on your booking, after you collect your bags. The chauffeur tracks your flight and you get complimentary waiting after a tracked landing. The airport's own taxi and limo rank is a separate service, curbside outside Door 9.
How much luggage fits in each vehicle?
A business or first class sedan takes up to 3 passengers and 2 bags, a business or first class SUV up to 6 passengers and 6 bags, and an Executive Sprinter up to 12 passengers and 12 bags. Tell the desk about golf, ski or hockey bags so the vehicle is matched to the load.
Is the airport's flat-rate limo cheaper?
Usually, for a walk-up trip downtown. YEG lists a C$71 limo flat rate and a C$62 taxi flat rate from Door 9. A booked Elly8.net car costs more but includes a chauffeur waiting inside arrivals, flight tracking, a vehicle matched to your group and a fixed price in US dollars.
What happens if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
A delay is handled automatically: the chauffeur works to the tracked landing time. If the flight is cancelled, message the 24/7 desk and we move the booking. Cancellation by you is free more than 72 hours before pickup, then 10%, 50% and 100% at 72, 48 and 24 hours or less.
How early should you leave downtown for a US flight?
YEG has US preclearance, so you clear US immigration in Edmonton before boarding. We usually suggest a downtown pickup at least three hours before a US departure, and more in winter or at holiday peaks. The fare to the airport is the same fixed price as the fare from it.
