Most Edmonton weddings need two vehicles: one car for the couple and one larger vehicle for the wedding party. A first class sedan or a Rolls-Royce carries the couple, and an Executive Sprinter carries up to 12 bridesmaids, groomsmen and family members as one vehicle. Larger weddings add a guest shuttle between the hotel and the venue. Through Elly8.net, a first class sedan costs from US$180 an hour and an Executive Sprinter US$220 an hour, both with a 3-hour minimum, or from US$1,325 and US$1,620 for an eight-hour full day.
The number of cars is not decided by the size of the guest list. It is decided by how many people need to move at the same time, between how many places. This guide from the Elly8.net desk shows how to count the moves, what Edmonton's popular venues mean for pickups, and when to lock in the booking. Prices are in US dollars and always per vehicle.
How many limos do you need for a wedding in Edmonton?
For most Edmonton weddings, two: a car for the couple and an Executive Sprinter for up to 12 in the wedding party. Add a second Sprinter or a stretch SUV for a party of more than 12, and a guest shuttle if many guests share a hotel. Count the people moving at once, not the guest list.
Rides in Edmonton are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer, and seven or newer for Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley.

Count the moves, not the guests
Write the day as a list of moves, then mark who travels on each one.
- Getting ready. Often two places: the couple dressing separately, each with their party.
- To the ceremony. Both parties arrive before the couple, or together if there is a first look.
- Photos. The couple and the wedding party, sometimes at a second location such as a park or the river valley.
- To the reception. The couple, the wedding party and close family.
- The send-off. The couple to the hotel at the end of the night, and guests back to their hotels.
Each move that happens at the same time in two places needs two vehicles. Each move that only the couple makes can use one car. That is why a typical day ends up with one car for the couple all day, one Sprinter for the party for most of it, and a shuttle only at the start and end of the evening.
| Wedding | Moves at the same time | Vehicles | Typical booking |
|---|---|---|---|
| Couple plus a party of 6 | Couple, then party | First class sedan and a business SUV | Hourly or full day for each |
| Couple plus a party of 8 to 12 | Couple, then party | First class sedan and an Executive Sprinter | Full day for the couple, 5 to 8 hours for the party |
| Couple plus a party of 14 to 20 | Couple, two groups of party | Couple's car, a Sprinter and a stretch SUV | Combine on one booking |
| 120 guests with a hotel block | Party, plus guests to and from the venue | Couple's car, party Sprinter, one or two guest Sprinters | Guest Sprinters by the hour, early and late |
Seats and bags for each class are on the fleet page. The stretch SUV limousine seats up to 16 and the stretch limousine up to 8; Rolls-Royce, Maybach and stretch vehicles are priced for your date in the web booker.
Edmonton venues and what they mean for the cars
Muttart Conservatory. The City's Muttart rentals page offers its pyramids for intimate daytime ceremonies, receptions and wedding photos, with ceremony capacities of 2 to 12 guests in the Tropical pyramid, 2 to 18 in the Arid, 2 to 25 in the Temperate and 2 to 45 in the Feature pyramid. Ceremonies must be booked well in advance. With guest lists that small, one Sprinter often carries everyone who matters; by our routing the Muttart is about 3 km (7 minutes) from downtown.
Fort Edmonton Park. Fort Edmonton Park lists more than ten year-round venues for weddings, indoor and outdoor, with admission included for guests and photo opportunities around the park, and the Hotel Selkirk on site. It is about 10 km (20 minutes) from downtown. Because the park is large, tell the desk the exact venue inside it, so the chauffeur meets you at the right door.
Parks and the river valley. The City's weddings in parks page says gatherings of fewer than 100 people with limited infrastructure do not need a City permit, while groups of 100 or more need an event licence; parkland cannot be booked exclusively, and liquor is only allowed at designated picnic sites. For an outdoor ceremony, plan where the cars stop and where guests walk from, and have a covered fallback.
Downtown hotels and the Legislature area. Many couples dress at a downtown hotel and take photos nearby. Curb space on a Saturday afternoon downtown is limited, and on an Oilers game night the streets around Rogers Place fill; the desk stages the cars a block away if needed.
A sample wedding day
| Time | Couple's car (first class sedan) | Party vehicle (Executive Sprinter) |
|---|---|---|
| 12:30 p.m. | Collects partner one from the hotel | Collects the wedding party from two addresses |
| 1:30 p.m. | Waits at the venue for the first look | Delivers the party to the ceremony |
| 2:00 p.m. | Ceremony | Ceremony, Sprinter on standby |
| 3:00 p.m. | Photos at a second location | Carries the party to photos |
| 5:00 p.m. | To the reception | To the reception, then released |
| 11:30 p.m. | Couple to the hotel | Not needed, or a late guest loop |
In this shape, the Sprinter works about five hours, which fits the evening out and event night package at US$1,100, or hourly at US$220. The couple's car covers 12:30 to 8:30 p.m. on an 8-hour full-day chauffeur in a first class sedan, US$1,325, and the 11:30 p.m. send-off is booked separately by the hour, with the 3-hour minimum. When the reception runs long, splitting the couple's car into a day booking and a late booking can cost less than keeping one car waiting all evening.

As arithmetic only, a couple's first class sedan for the full day plus a Sprinter for five hours comes to US$2,425 for the two vehicles, before any late send-off booking. Prices include the chauffeur, taxes and standard gratuity; tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. When to book
As soon as the venue and date are fixed. Summer Saturdays are popular wedding dates, and there are far fewer classic cars, such as the Rolls-Royce and the stretch vehicles, than sedans and Sprinters, so reserving early gives you the widest choice. Booking early costs nothing extra: cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup.
Final details about two weeks before. Send the desk the final timeline, every pickup address, the names of the couple and a contact for the day. Changes after that are fine, but they are easier to plan with notice.
Know the cancellation terms. Free more than 72 hours before pickup, 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, refunded to the original card. The full terms are on the cancellation policy page.
Check the city calendar before you lock the timeline
Edmonton's summer festivals and big games change how long a wedding day's drives take. K-Days usually runs in late July, the Fringe fills Old Strathcona in August, and stadium concerts and Oilers home games bring crowds downtown and around Commonwealth Stadium. Explore Edmonton publishes the official city calendar. If your date falls on one of those weekends, tell the desk; we add time between the ceremony, photos and reception, and choose routes and drop-off points away from the crowds.
Questions to ask before you sign
- Is the price per vehicle and all-in? With Elly8.net it is: chauffeur, vehicle, taxes and standard gratuity, quoted in US dollars before you pay.
- How are the hours counted? From the first pickup to the last drop-off. Build in time for photos that run long.
- Who operates the car? A licensed, commercially insured local partner, with vehicles four model years old or newer.
- What happens if the day changes? Message the 24/7 desk; changes are easiest with notice, and the cancellation terms above apply to any cancellation.
Guests, airports and the weekend around the wedding
Out-of-town guests. Edmonton International Airport is about 32 km (20 mi) south of downtown, and a guest Sprinter from YEG costs US$405 per vehicle for up to 12 passengers and 12 bags. Our Edmonton airport limo guide explains the meeting at arrivals.
The stag and stagette nights. For the parties before the wedding, the vehicle count and hours work differently; see our Edmonton limo bus guide.
Guest shuttles. For a reception away from the hotel block, a Sprinter van with driver can run loops from the hotel before the ceremony and back after the last dance. For bigger shuttles across several vehicles, see group transportation.
Winter weddings. In January the chauffeur keeps the car warm and waits at the door, which matters in a wedding dress at minus 20. Allow extra time between locations after snow.
Chauffeurs follow Alberta's rules on alcohol in vehicles. Every Edmonton fare is on the Edmonton limo service page, and our Edmonton limo rental guide covers the city's neighbourhoods and drive times. Couples marrying in the mountains can book the same service through our Banff chauffeur and Calgary pages.
Frequently asked questions
How many cars do we need for our wedding?
Usually two: one for the couple and one Executive Sprinter for a wedding party of up to 12. Add a stretch SUV or a second Sprinter for a larger party, and a guest shuttle if many guests share a hotel away from the venue. Count the people moving at the same time, not the guest list.
How much is a wedding limo in Edmonton?
A first class sedan for the couple costs from US$180 an hour with a 3-hour minimum, or US$1,325 for an 8-hour day. An Executive Sprinter for the wedding party costs US$220 an hour or US$1,100 for five hours. Rolls-Royce and stretch limousines are priced in the web booker. All prices are per vehicle.
When should we book our wedding cars?
As soon as the venue and date are confirmed, especially for a summer Saturday or a Rolls-Royce or stretch limousine. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup, so booking early carries no extra cost. Send the final timeline and addresses about two weeks before the day.
Can the chauffeur wait during the ceremony and photos?
Yes. Hourly and full-day bookings keep the car and chauffeur with you, waiting at the venue or the photo location and moving when you are ready. Waiting beyond the booked hours is billed at cost, so build the timeline with a little room for photos that run long.
Do you shuttle guests between the hotel and the venue?
Yes. An Executive Sprinter carries up to 12 guests per loop and can run several loops before the ceremony and after the reception, booked by the hour at US$220. For more guests at once, add a second vehicle on the same booking.
Can we have champagne in the car?
Chauffeurs follow Alberta's rules on alcohol in vehicles, so plan the toast at the venue rather than in the car. The chauffeur keeps to the agreed timeline, waits at each location and makes sure the couple arrives on time, so the toast can happen where it belongs.
