Uber from the Las Vegas airport picks up inside the parking garages, not at the terminal curb: on Level 2 of the Terminal 1 garage and on the Valet Level of the Terminal 3 garage, according to Harry Reid International Airport (LAS). The fare is set by the app at the moment you request it, so it rises when demand rises; a pre-booked Elly8.net car to the Strip is fixed at US$125 in a Business Sedan, waiting for you in baggage claim.
For many trips the app is a perfectly good choice, and this post says when. It also covers how the garage pickups work, what drives surge pricing, how Uber Black compares with a chauffeur, and the situations where booking ahead saves time and money. Rides booked through Elly8.net in Las Vegas are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
Where do you get an Uber at the Las Vegas airport?
At Harry Reid International, Uber and Lyft pick up in marked areas inside the parking garages: Level 2 of the garage at Terminal 1 and the Valet Level of the garage at Terminal 3. Follow the ride share signs from baggage claim. Taxis wait outside baggage claim, and pre-booked chauffeurs meet you inside.
The source is the airport's own taxi and ride share page, which also gives the taxi stands: on the east side of Terminal 1 near outside doors 1 to 4, and on Level Zero near door 52 at Terminal 3. The two terminals are linked by a courtesy inter-terminal shuttle that runs about every 20 to 30 minutes, so make sure you request the ride from the terminal you are actually in.

How the garage pickup works, step by step
- Collect your bags first. Requesting before you reach the belt means the driver waits, and the match can expire or the driver may cancel.
- Follow the ride share signs from baggage claim to the garage. At Terminal 1 you are heading up to Level 2 of the garage; at Terminal 3, to the Valet Level.
- Request the ride and check the app's pickup instructions. Apps often give a numbered or lettered spot inside the pickup area.
- Match the plate and the driver's name before you get in, and ignore anyone offering a ride inside the terminal; Nevada's regulators publish guidance on illegal passenger transportation.
- Expect to load your own bags. The car class you requested decides how much fits, so a group with suitcases should request a larger class.
On a quiet weekday evening, that process is quick. On a Friday afternoon or at the end of a big convention, the garage levels fill with travellers doing the same thing, and the wait for a match is where the time goes.
Surge pricing: why the same trip costs more at peaks
Rideshare fares are dynamic. The app sets the price when you request, based on demand and the drivers nearby, and that price can rise sharply when many people request at once. Uber and Lyft do not publish a fixed airport-to-Strip fare, so there is no honest single number to quote here. What we can describe is when demand peaks in Las Vegas:
- Friday afternoons and evenings, when the weekend wave lands at LAS.
- Convention weeks, especially opening and closing days: the SEMA Show from November 3 to 6, 2026, AWS re:Invent from November 30 to December 4, 2026, and CES from January 6 to 9, 2027.
- Race week, November 19 to 21, 2026, when the Las Vegas Grand Prix uses a street circuit along the Strip and routes change.
- Late-night arrivals when several flights land together and fewer drivers are working.
- Sunday checkout, when departing travellers all request rides to LAS at the same time.
A practical tip if you use the app: check the price before you walk to the garage, and compare it with the taxi. The taxi zone fares are published by the Nevada Taxicab Authority: US$22.25, US$26.25 or US$30.25 to the three Strip zones, plus a US$2.40 airport pickup fee, a US$3.00 card fee, a fuel surcharge and 3% excise tax. At a surge peak, the taxi rank outside baggage claim may simply be the better deal.
Who regulates rideshare in Nevada
App-based rides are legal and regulated in Nevada. The Nevada Transportation Authority regulates for-hire passenger carriers and transportation network companies, the term for app services such as Uber and Lyft, and offers a certificate check for carriers on its website. Taxis are overseen separately by the Nevada Taxicab Authority. Every Elly8.net partner is a licensed, commercially insured chauffeur company, with vehicles four model years old or newer.
Uber Black vs a pre-booked chauffeur
Uber Black is the app's premium tier, with higher-end cars and professional drivers, and it can be a good product. The differences from a pre-booked chauffeur are structural rather than about the car:
| Uber Black from LAS | Elly8.net pre-booked car | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Set by the app when you request; can rise at peaks | Fixed when you book: US$125 Business Sedan, US$220 First Class Sedan, US$200 First Class SUV |
| Gratuity | Added by you in the app | Standard gratuity included |
| Where you meet | App pickup area in the parking garage | Chauffeur in baggage claim with a name board |
| Flight delays | You request when you land | Flight tracked, complimentary waiting after a tracked landing |
| Child seats | Check the app; not guaranteed | Available on request, fitted before pickup |
| Groups and bags | One car per request | Business SUV for 6 with 6 bags, Executive Sprinter for 12 with 12 |
| Invoicing | Personal or business app profile | Corporate accounts with monthly invoicing |
Our Uber Black vs a pre-booked chauffeur page explains the comparison in more depth, and chauffeur vs Uber and Lyft covers the standard app tiers.
When the app is the right call
We book private cars, and we will still say it: use the app or a taxi when
- you are one or two travellers with light bags;
- you land at a quiet time and your hotel is close, for example on the South Strip;
- your plans are uncertain and you do not know when you will leave the airport;
- you are watching every dollar and the app price at that moment is lower than the taxi.
When a pre-booked car wins
- Groups and luggage. Four people with suitcases rarely fit one standard app car. A Business SUV at US$165 takes six and six bags; an Executive Sprinter at US$325 takes twelve and twelve.
- Late or delayed flights. The chauffeur tracks the flight. You walk out of baggage claim to someone already waiting.
- Families. Child seats are available on request and fitted before pickup.
- Events and conventions. The price is fixed when you book, so peak demand does not change it. For show weeks, our CES transportation guide lists every venue's pickup rules.
- Business travel. A fixed fare, a receipt and monthly invoicing on a corporate account, with NDAs on request.
- The return. A booked car meets you at the hotel's arrival area at the time you chose, instead of a fresh, demand-based price at Sunday checkout.
Three arrivals, three answers
Tuesday, 2 p.m., one traveller with a carry-on, staying on the South Strip. Take the app or the taxi. The garage walk is short with one bag, a midweek afternoon is not one of the peak windows listed above, and Zone 1 is the cheapest taxi zone. Paying US$125 for a private car here only makes sense if you are heading straight into a meeting.
Friday, 6 p.m., four friends with four suitcases, staying at a North Strip resort. This is the classic surge window, the garage pickup levels are busy, and four suitcases plus carry-ons will not fit a standard car. The options are a larger app class at a peak price, two taxis at about US$37 each to Zone 3 by card before the fuel surcharge and tip, or a Business SUV booked ahead at US$165, gratuity included, waiting in baggage claim. The SUV is about US$41 each.
Monday, 11:40 p.m., a delayed flight from the East Coast, a family of five with a child seat. Book ahead. The chauffeur follows the delay, the child seat is already fitted, and nobody walks a stroller through a parking garage at midnight. A Business SUV from LAS is US$165 fixed. Our airport transfers page explains how flight tracking works, and our Las Vegas airport limo guide follows the arrival from the gate to the hotel driveway.
The rest of the trip
The same pattern repeats on the Strip. Most resorts and venues have designated rideshare pickup areas, often in garages or side entrances, and after a show or a game those areas get crowded. An hourly chauffeur from US$95 an hour, three-hour minimum, or the five-hour evening package from US$475 keeps one car waiting all night. Frequently asked questions
Where is the Uber pickup at Las Vegas airport?
Inside the parking garages. At Terminal 1, rideshare pickups are on Level 2 of the garage; at Terminal 3, on the Valet Level of the garage. Follow the ride share signs from baggage claim, and request the ride from the terminal you are in, since the two are linked only by a courtesy shuttle.
How much is an Uber from the Las Vegas airport to the Strip?
The app sets the price when you request it, and it changes with demand, so there is no fixed fare to quote. For comparison, taxi zone fares are US$22.25 to US$30.25 plus fees, tax and tip, and an Elly8.net Business Sedan is US$125 fixed, gratuity included.
Is Uber or a taxi cheaper from LAS?
It depends on the moment. At quiet times the app is often competitive; at peaks, surge pricing can push it above the published taxi zone fares. Check the app price before walking to the garage, and compare it with the taxi rank outside baggage claim.
Is Uber Black better than a limo service at LAS?
Uber Black offers premium cars at an app-set price you see when you request. A pre-booked chauffeur offers a fixed price with gratuity included, meet and greet in baggage claim, flight tracking and child seats on request. For groups, families and business arrivals, the pre-booked car is usually more predictable.
Can I pre-book an Uber at the Las Vegas airport?
App scheduling features exist, but the pickup still happens in the garage area under the airport's rules, and you still walk to it with your bags. A pre-booked Elly8.net car is priced and confirmed at booking, tracked to your flight, and your chauffeur waits in baggage claim with a name board.
What is the cancellation policy for a pre-booked car?
Free more than 72 hours before pickup, 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show. Refunds go to the original card. Delays to your flight do not count as a no-show, because the pickup is tracked.
