An Elly8.net Calgary airport to Banff car service is a private vehicle and chauffeur who track your flight, meet you inside arrivals at Calgary International Airport (YYC) and drive you about 135 km (84 mi) west on the Trans-Canada Highway to your hotel in the town of Banff. The fare is fixed, all-in and per vehicle: US$370 in a Business Sedan, US$485 in a Business SUV and US$965 in an Executive Sprinter, the same in either direction.
The drive takes about 1 hour 55 minutes on a clear road. The part that decides whether the day starts smoothly is the airport: customs, the oversize baggage belt with skis, and knowing which door to walk out of. This guide takes it in order, then covers the national park pass, the road, the return trip and how the curb options at YYC compare. Rides in Banff are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
How much is a car service from Calgary airport to Banff?
An Elly8.net car from YYC to the town of Banff costs US$370 in a Business Sedan, US$485 in a Business SUV, US$595 in a First Class SUV, US$650 in a First Class Sedan and US$965 in an Executive Sprinter, one way. The round trip starts at US$705. Prices are fixed, all-in and per vehicle.
The fare includes the chauffeur, vehicle, taxes, standard gratuity and the airport meet and greet. Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost; the national park pass is not included and is bought separately, as explained below.
| YYC to the town of Banff | One way | Round trip | Seats / bags |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business Sedan | US$370 | US$705 | 3 / 2 |
| Business SUV | US$485 | US$925 | 6 / 6 |
| First Class SUV | US$595 | US$1,135 | 6 / 6 |
| First Class Sedan | US$650 | US$1,235 | 3 / 2 |
| Executive Sprinter | US$965 | US$1,835 | 12 / 12 |
Step 1: book with the flight number and the full address
Send the flight number, not just the landing time; the pickup follows the flight. For the Banff end, a hotel name is enough on Banff Avenue or at the Fairmont Banff Springs. For a rental condo or a property on Tunnel Mountain, add the building and entrance. If you are staying in Canmore or Lake Louise instead, those addresses are priced in the web booker: Lake Louise village is about 193 km (120 mi) from YYC, roughly 2 hours 35 minutes on a clear road.
Tell the desk what is travelling. Skis, snowboards, hiking packs and child seats decide the vehicle, so count them now rather than at the curb.
Step 2: landing, customs and baggage
After a domestic flight you go straight to baggage claim. After an international flight you clear Canadian customs first. YYC's customs page explains that if Calgary is your final destination you follow the signs for Baggage/Exit, use the Primary Inspection kiosks, then proceed to the baggage carousels and, if needed, oversize baggage. NEXUS members have dedicated kiosks.
Skis and boards usually arrive at the oversize belt rather than the main carousel. If you are waiting there, message the chauffeur so they know where you are. Complimentary waiting starts after a tracked landing, so a slow customs hall on a winter Saturday or a late ski bag is covered. Waiting beyond the included time is billed at cost, and the desk tells you before it starts.
Step 3: where your chauffeur meets you
The chauffeur waits inside the arrivals area with a name board, stays in touch by text, and walks you and your bags to the vehicle. You receive the chauffeur's name and number before you fly. There is no need to find a door, a stand or an app zone.
For comparison, here is how the curb options work at YYC, from the airport's taxis and sedans page and ride app page:
| Curb option at YYC | Where on the Arrivals level | How it is priced | Built for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Taxi | Doors 1, 9 and 15 | meter; YYC puts downtown Calgary at about C$40 to C$45 | Calgary trips |
| Airport sedan | Doors 2, 11 and 15 | flat zone fares; C$68.75 to downtown Calgary | premium Calgary trips, some beyond the city |
| Uber or Lyft | Doors 3, 12 and 15, plus Departures at peak times | app price, plus a C$5.10 plus GST pickup fee | flexible Calgary trips |
| Elly8.net chauffeur | inside arrivals, with a name board | US$370 to US$965 fixed to Banff, per vehicle | the Banff transfer, door to door |
YYC says taxis and limos are regulated by the City of Calgary's Livery Transport Services. The curb options are good for trips into Calgary. For a 135 km mountain transfer, a meter or an app price leaves the total open, while the fixed fare is agreed before you fly. If you are spending time in the city first, see Calgary car service.
Step 4: which vehicle takes your gear
Capacities are from our fleet guide.
- Business Sedan: 3 seats, 2 standard bags. A couple travelling light in summer. Not a ski vehicle.
- Business SUV: 6 seats, 6 bags. The usual choice for a couple or a family of four with skis or boards.
- First Class SUV: 6 seats, 6 bags. The same room with a quieter, more refined cabin.
- Executive Sprinter: 12 seats, 12 bags. Groups, wedding parties and families with child seats, strollers and skis, all inside the vehicle.
Child seats are available on request; give each child's age when you book.
Step 5: the drive and the park pass
The route crosses Calgary to the Trans-Canada Highway and heads west past Canmore into Banff National Park. Banff and Lake Louise Tourism describes it as a short, scenic drive from the airport to the park. A grocery stop in Canmore on the way in is easy to add if you mention it at booking.
The park pass. Everyone stopping in the park needs one. Parks Canada's fees page lists a daily adult pass at C$12.25, a senior at C$10.75 and a family or group pass at C$24.50 for up to seven people arriving in one vehicle, with youth 17 and under free. An annual Discovery Pass is C$83.50 for an adult or C$167.50 for a family. Buy online before you travel; passes are not included in Elly8.net prices.
The road. Parks Canada's driving page sets a 90 km/h (56 mph) maximum on major routes and warns that wildlife may be on or near any park road, especially at dusk and dawn. In winter the desk checks 511 Alberta before departures. If snow or a collision slows the highway, the fixed fare does not change.
The return: Banff to YYC
The fare back to the airport is the same fixed price. Two YYC rules shape the pickup time for a US flight: Calgary is a US Preclearance airport, so you clear US Customs and Border Protection at YYC before boarding, and YYC's security page says travellers flying to the US can access security screening and US customs no more than two hours before their scheduled departure. Arriving far earlier than that only means waiting before the checkpoint opens to you, while arriving late puts the flight at risk.
As a planning guide, most departure pickups from Banff are set about four and a half hours before a US flight and about four hours before a domestic one, allowing the 1 hour 55 minute clear-road drive and a buffer for winter conditions or holiday traffic. The desk confirms the time with you the day before. On a powder morning, it may suggest leaving earlier.
Coach, rental car or private car
YYC's bus and tours page lists several operators running from the airport to Banff. For one person with a single bag on a daytime arrival, a coach seat is usually the cheapest way in. Coaches run to a timetable and stop at set points, so the first and last mile to a hotel may be yours to sort out.
A rental car gives freedom during your stay, but you drive a mountain highway after a long flight, pay for parking in town and at the lakes, and still cannot drive to Moraine Lake, where Parks Canada closes the road to personal vehicles. Our Lake Louise shuttle vs private car guide explains the lake access rules.
A private car wins for families with child seats and skis, groups who would otherwise buy many coach seats, late arrivals after the last coach and anyone who wants a fixed total before the trip. Because the price is per vehicle, four people in a Business SUV pay one fare between them. See chauffeur vs shared airport shuttle and chauffeur vs renting a car.
Groups on several flights
Mountain weddings, ski groups and corporate retreats rarely land together. Send the desk the full arrival list and it plans the pickups by flight: an Executive Sprinter for the main cluster, at US$965 for the vehicle, and a Business Sedan or SUV for anyone landing hours earlier or later. The plan updates as flights move. See group transportation.
Once you are in Banff
The town of Banff is small and walkable, and Roam Transit links it with Canmore and Lake Louise. For the trips where a car helps, the 8-hour Lake Louise and Moraine Lake day is priced from US$810 in a Business Sedan to US$1,620 in an Executive Sprinter, and an hourly chauffeur is from US$110 an hour with a three-hour minimum. Our Banff taxi or rideshare guide covers getting around town. Heading on to the coast after the Rockies? Our YVR to Whistler car service guide covers the second great Canadian mountain transfer.

Where does the chauffeur meet me at YYC?
Inside the arrivals area, with a name board, after you collect your bags. The chauffeur tracks your flight, so early and late landings are covered, and complimentary waiting starts after the tracked landing. You get the chauffeur's name and number before you fly.

Can I take a taxi from YYC to Banff?
Taxis load at Doors 1, 9 and 15 and run on the meter. They are built for Calgary trips; over 135 km the final price depends on the meter and traffic. A pre-booked Elly8.net car is fixed in advance, from US$370 in a Business Sedan.
When should I leave Banff for a US flight?
Usually about four and a half hours before departure. YYC says US-bound travellers can enter security and US customs no more than two hours before their scheduled departure, and the drive is about 1 hour 55 minutes on a clear road, plus a buffer for weather. The desk confirms the time.
