A DC Sprinter van rental with Elly8.net means a 12-seat Executive Sprinter with a professional chauffeur, not a van you drive yourself. It carries up to 12 passengers and 12 bags, and every Washington route is priced in advance: US$325 from Reagan National to downtown DC, US$665 from Dulles, US$705 from BWI, or US$200 an hour as directed with a 3-hour minimum. Prices include the chauffeur, taxes and standard gratuity.
Washington is a good city for a Sprinter and a demanding one. Groups here are often delegations, advocacy teams, school trips, wedding parties and families seeing the monuments together, and they need to arrive together at places where parking is almost non-existent and security perimeters move. This guide covers when a Sprinter is the right choice, what each package costs, how the city's neighbourhoods and traffic shape the day, and how to book.
How much does a Sprinter van with driver cost in Washington, DC?
An Elly8.net Executive Sprinter costs US$200 an hour in Washington with a 3-hour minimum, or a fixed US$325 from Reagan National, US$665 from Dulles and US$705 from BWI to downtown DC. A full day is US$1,475. Every price is per vehicle and all-in, so twelve people share one fare.
Tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time are billed at cost. The full grid is in the Washington, DC price panel.

When a Sprinter is the right vehicle
Choose a Sprinter when:
- There are 7 to 12 people who need to arrive together.
- There is luggage: a Sprinter takes up to 12 bags, so a group from the airport fits in one vehicle.
- The day has several stops and the group would otherwise split into three or four cars.
- Standing headroom matters: wedding parties in formal clothes, older travellers, or anyone tired of folding into a back seat.
Choose something else when:
- There are six or fewer: a Business SUV takes up to 6 passengers and 6 bags at US$125 an hour, or US$165 from DCA.
- The group will split up during the day: two SUVs give flexibility a single Sprinter cannot.
- You want the celebration feel of a party bus or a stretch limousine; those are quoted in the web booker, and our party bus rental page explains the differences.
For a single traveller or two, Metro is often the right answer in DC. A weekday rail fare of up to US$6.75 per person, per WMATA, adds up to about US$81 for twelve people, before anyone carries bags across a station. For a group with luggage or a schedule, one Sprinter from DCA at US$325 is competitive and keeps everyone together. It also removes the scramble at the fare gates and the transfer between lines with cases in hand, which is where groups usually lose people.
Airport arrivals for groups
Groups usually start at an airport, and each one is different:
- Reagan National is closest, about 4 miles (6 km) from downtown. The chauffeur meets the group inside at baggage claim; our guide to Reagan National Airport car service explains the two terminals.
- Dulles is about 30 miles (48 km) out. International groups clear customs before reaching the meeting point, and the chauffeur tracks the flight; see how IAD pickups work and Dulles to DC by private car.
- BWI is about 34 miles (54 km) north. If the group is staying in Baltimore instead, see our Baltimore car service page.
For groups arriving on several flights, send a manifest with names and flight numbers. We group the arrivals into Sprinters and smaller cars and confirm each traveller separately.
The city, neighbourhood by neighbourhood
DC is compact, but a large vehicle meets its limits in some places. Chauffeurs plan drop-offs before the day starts.
- The National Mall and monuments. Parking along the Mall is very limited, so the plan is drop and collect: the chauffeur sets you down near a memorial and meets you at an agreed point after you walk. The National Park Service lists the memorials and their access.
- Capitol Hill. Security perimeters around the Capitol and the House and Senate office buildings change with events. For tours, book through the US Capitol Visitor Center and give us the time; the chauffeur agrees a drop point outside the perimeter.
- Downtown and Penn Quarter. Hotel driveways are tight and many streets are one-way. A Sprinter fits most hotel entrances, and the chauffeur confirms the door in advance.
- Georgetown. M Street and Wisconsin Avenue are busy and narrow, with little room to stop. Expect a drop on a side street and a short walk.
- The Wharf and Navy Yard. Restaurant and nightlife districts south of the Mall, close to Nationals Park.
- Arlington. Across the river, with Arlington National Cemetery and the Pentagon; the cemetery publishes visitor information and hours.
Traffic and timing
Weekday mornings inbound and late afternoons outbound are the heavy periods on the bridges and parkways. Inside the city, the biggest delays come from closures: motorcades, security events, parades and construction. For a group, build at least 20 minutes of buffer between stops on a weekday and more on event days.
Some weeks need extra planning. The National Cherry Blossom Festival runs from March 20 to April 11, 2027, and the Tidal Basin area is crowded on bloom weekends. Game nights at Nationals Park and Capital One Arena slow the surrounding streets before and after. The IMF and World Bank meetings bring delegations to Foggy Bottom, usually in April and October.
Sample days
A family monuments day for ten. Pickup at the hotel at 9 a.m., the Lincoln Memorial and the Korean and Vietnam veterans memorials, lunch, the Smithsonian museums on the Mall, the Capitol exterior and an evening drive past the monuments lit up. The private city highlights tour is US$800 in the Sprinter; a longer day is the full-day rate of US$1,475.
An advocacy day on the Hill for twelve. Hotel at 8 a.m., a morning of meetings in the House and Senate office buildings, lunch, afternoon meetings, return. Book by the hour at US$200, or the corporate roadshow day at US$1,800 when the schedule runs long. Our government and diplomatic transportation and corporate car service pages explain how manifests and invoices work.
Mount Vernon and Old Town. The signature day trip runs six hours from US$1,105 in the Sprinter: south along the George Washington Memorial Parkway to George Washington's Mount Vernon, then lunch and a walk in Old Town Alexandria on the way back.
A wedding party. A Sprinter for the bridal party with standing room for dresses, timed to the photographer, plus sedans for parents. See wedding limousine.
A game night. The evening out & event night package, US$1,000 in the Sprinter, with the chauffeur staged near the ballpark or arena and meeting the group at an agreed corner afterwards. More on sports event transportation.
Conventions, conferences and delegations
The Walter E. Washington Convention Center is the city's largest single source of group travel, and its big shows fill downtown hotels. For exhibitor teams and speakers, a Sprinter running timed loops between the hotel and the halls is usually cheaper than a stream of individual rides, and it means the stand crew arrives together with their cases. Evening receptions follow the same pattern: one vehicle out, one vehicle back, a known pickup point at the end of the night. Our conference transportation page explains timed hotel loops.
Delegations are different again. A ministerial visit or a working-group meeting can mean three Sprinters, a lead sedan and changing timings all week. One manifest, flight tracking for each arrival and a single monthly invoice through a corporate account keep it manageable. Chauffeurs are briefed to be discreet, and NDAs are available on request.
Families and multi-generation trips
For a family visit, the Sprinter's advantages are practical rather than glamorous. Grandparents get a step and a handrail instead of a low back seat. Children's car seats are fitted on request before the pickup. Strollers, wheelchairs and picnic bags ride in the back. And when the youngest members of the group run out of energy at the third museum, the vehicle is a short call away rather than a hunt for three separate rides.
Tell us the ages of any children who need seats, and anyone who needs help getting in and out, when you book. If the family is flying in from different cities, we can collect each part of the group at its own airport and bring everyone to the same hotel.
What to ask before you book any Sprinter
- Is it a chauffeured vehicle with a professional driver, or a self-drive rental? A self-drive van needs a driver from your group and parking all day.
- How many passengers is the vehicle rated for, and how many bags fit with a full load?
- Is the price all-in, including gratuity and taxes, or are they added?
- Are tolls and parking extra, and how are they billed?
- What is the cancellation policy, in writing?
With Elly8.net, the Executive Sprinter is rated for 12 passengers and 12 bags, the price is fixed and all-in, tolls and parking are billed at cost, and cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup, 10% at 72 hours or less, 50% at 48 hours or less and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show, refunded to the original card. See the cancellation policy and the Sprinter van with driver page.
Rides in Washington, DC are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk. Partner vehicles are four model years old or newer.

Frequently asked questions
How many people fit in a Sprinter van in DC?
The Elly8.net Executive Sprinter carries up to 12 passengers and up to 12 bags. For larger groups, book two Sprinters or add a Business SUV for up to six more. Tell us the headcount and luggage and the desk suggests the right combination.
How much is a Sprinter from Reagan National to downtown DC?
US$325 one way and US$620 round trip, fixed and all-in for up to 12 passengers. From Dulles it is US$665 one way and from BWI US$705. Tolls and parking are billed at cost, and the chauffeur meets the group inside at baggage claim.
Is there a minimum booking for hourly Sprinter service?
Yes, three hours. The Executive Sprinter is US$200 an hour as directed in Washington, so the minimum is US$600. For long days, the full-day chauffeur rate of US$1,475 is usually better value than paying hourly.
Can a Sprinter stop at the monuments?
Parking along the National Mall is very limited, so the chauffeur drops the group close to a memorial and meets you at an agreed point after your visit. Security perimeters near the Capitol and the White House may require a short walk.
Do you rent Sprinters without a driver?
No. Elly8.net books chauffeured vehicles only. A professional chauffeur drives, plans the drop-off points and waits nearby, so nobody in your group has to drive or find parking in the city.
