Boston limo rental prices depend on four things: the vehicle, the hours, the day and what the quote leaves out. On the Elly8.net price list, a chauffeured Business Sedan is US$100 an hour with a three-hour minimum, an Executive Sprinter for up to 12 people is US$200 an hour, Logan Airport to Back Bay runs from US$130 to US$340, and an evening out package runs from US$500 to US$1,000. Those are fixed and all-in.
The harder part is comparing them with other quotes, because two numbers that look the same can hide very different bills. This guide shows how a Boston quote is built, which lines to look for, and how to compare offers on a like-for-like basis. Rides in Boston are operated by licensed, commercially insured local chauffeur partners vetted through the Limousine Worldwide network; Elly8.net takes the booking, fixes the price and runs the 24/7 desk.
How much does it cost to rent a limo in Boston?
On Elly8.net, Boston hourly rates run from US$100 in a Business Sedan to US$200 in a 12-seat Executive Sprinter, three-hour minimum. Logan to Back Bay costs US$130 to US$340, and an evening out is US$500 to US$1,000. All prices are per vehicle and include taxes and standard gratuity.
Stretch limousines, stretch SUVs and party buses are not on the fixed city list, because their availability and size vary more by date; they are priced for your exact route and hours in the web booker before you pay.

What "all-in" should include
A Boston quote you can compare should include five things in the headline number:
- The chauffeur. Wages, licensing and the chauffeur's time.
- The vehicle. Fuel, insurance and the car itself, with no separate fuel surcharge.
- Taxes. Many quotes show taxes as a line at checkout.
- Standard gratuity. Some quotes add it as a percentage at invoice; ours is already in the price.
- Airport meet and greet on airport pickups, with the chauffeur inside arrivals and a name board.
What is reasonably billed on top is anything the operator cannot know in advance: tunnel and highway tolls, parking at venues, and waiting beyond the included time. With Elly8.net those are billed at cost, shown as separate lines, never as a percentage.
The add-ons that inflate other quotes
When two Boston quotes differ by a lot, the reason is usually one of these lines. Ask about each before you compare.
- Gratuity added later. A US$100-an-hour quote with 20% gratuity added at the end is really US$120.
- Fuel and admin surcharges. A fixed percentage on top of the base.
- Garage-to-garage time. Some hourly bookings start when the car leaves the garage and end when it returns, so a three-hour night out is billed as four or five.
- Higher minimums on peak dates. Prom, wedding and holiday Saturdays sometimes carry a longer minimum than the advertised one.
- Airport fees and parking. Who pays for the car to wait at Logan while you collect bags?
- Deposits and cancellation terms. A cheap rate with a non-refundable deposit can cost more than a slightly higher fixed price with free cancellation.
Our cancellation schedule is the same on every booking: more than 72 hours before pickup free; 72 hours or less 10%; 48 hours or less 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show 100%, refunded to the original card.
Hourly, package or transfer: picking the right line
The cheapest way to book a given trip is usually the line that matches its shape.
One movement, A to B. Book a transfer. Logan to Back Bay is fixed; other addresses are priced in the web booker. There is no hourly minimum on a transfer.
A night with several stops. Compare the evening out package with hourly. In a Business SUV the evening package is US$625, and the hourly rate is US$125, so the package is the simpler choice once the night will run five hours or more, and the price is fixed regardless of how the stops shuffle. See hourly chauffeur for how waiting works.
A sightseeing day. The private city highlights tour, US$400 in a Business Sedan or US$800 in an Executive Sprinter, covers the Freedom Trail sights, Beacon Hill, the North End and Cambridge with the chauffeur waiting while you walk. See private city tours.
A full day out of town. The Newport mansions package is 10 hours, from US$920 to US$1,840. For the Cape, which is not on the fixed list, our guide to Boston to Cape Cod by private car explains how the trip is priced.
Why the same car costs more on some nights elsewhere
Some operators price by demand: a Saturday in June, a prom night or Marathon weekend can carry a higher rate or a longer minimum than a Tuesday in February. Our Boston prices do not change with the date. What changes is availability, because the same partner vehicles are wanted by many groups on the same nights. That is why the advice for peak dates is about timing rather than money: book as soon as the date is set, and use the free cancellation window if plans move.
The Boston calendar makes those peak dates predictable. May and June bring proms, weddings and graduation weekends at once, with Boston University's All-University Commencement on May 16, 2027 and MIT's ceremonies from May 26 to 28. Spring brings Marathon weekend, and autumn brings foliage weekends and wedding Saturdays. Summer Fridays add the Cape traffic. If your date falls on any of these, book first and refine the details later.
A day out of town: what Newport costs
The Boston signature day trip is Newport, Rhode Island: a 10-hour package from US$920 in a Business Sedan to US$1,840 in an Executive Sprinter. The Gilded Age houses on Bellevue Avenue, including The Breakers, are run by the Preservation Society of Newport County, and a full day leaves time for two houses, lunch by the harbour and the Ocean Drive. For a couple, a First Class Sedan at US$1,475 is the comfortable choice; for a family of six, a Business SUV at US$1,150 works out at under US$200 a person for the whole day.
Per-person maths for groups
Group bookings look expensive until you divide them. A 12-seat Executive Sprinter on the evening out package is US$1,000, or about US$83 a person for twelve, with gratuity and taxes included. The Newport day in the same Sprinter is US$1,840, about US$153 each for a group of twelve, for a 10-hour day with the chauffeur waiting at every mansion. A Business SUV on the evening package is US$625, about US$104 each for six.
Compare that honestly with the alternatives. For a short ride across town, two or three taxis may cost less. The group vehicle wins when the night has several stops, when everyone needs to leave together, or when nobody wants to be the one who drives home. Our post on the Boston party bus goes deeper into group sizes and hours.
Occasion by occasion: what Boston bookings typically cost
Airport. Logan to Back Bay US$130 to US$340, Hanscom US$215 to US$560. Massport notes on its taxis and limos page that limo service at Logan is by prior reservation only, from limo stands at each terminal; meet and greet inside arrivals is included in our fares.
Weddings. Most couples book a First Class Sedan for themselves and an Executive Sprinter for the wedding party, hourly or on the evening package. Our guide to the Boston wedding limo shows how to count cars.
Proms. Groups of six usually book a Business SUV; groups of up to 12 a Sprinter. Parents can book and pay. See the Boston prom limo checklist.
Games and concerts. Fenway Park, TD Garden and Gillette Stadium nights fit the evening out package, US$500 to US$1,000, with the chauffeur staged near an agreed pickup point. Game nights around Fenway Park and Kenmore Square fill the streets, which is exactly when an agreed meeting point pays off. See sports event transportation.
Business days. Hourly from US$100, the full day from US$740 and the corporate roadshow day from US$900, all on one monthly invoice with a corporate account.
A checklist for comparing two Boston limo quotes
Put both quotes side by side and answer each question for each one:
- Is the price per vehicle, and does it include taxes and gratuity?
- Is there a fuel or service surcharge?
- When does the clock start and stop on an hourly booking?
- What is the minimum, and does it change on your date?
- How are tolls, parking and waiting charged: at cost, or as a fee?
- Is the vehicle class guaranteed, and how old are the vehicles? Ours are 4 model years or newer.
- What happens if the flight is late? We track it and include complimentary waiting after a tracked landing.
- What is the cancellation schedule, and how are refunds paid?
When every line is answered, the comparison is real. Our broader explainer, how much does a limo cost, covers the same questions across cities, and black car vs limousine helps choose the vehicle type.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a limo per hour in Boston?
On Elly8.net, US$100 an hour in a Business Sedan, US$125 in a Business SUV, US$150 in a First Class SUV, US$160 in a First Class Sedan and US$200 in a 12-seat Executive Sprinter, with a three-hour minimum. Prices are per vehicle and include taxes and standard gratuity.
Is gratuity included in Boston limo prices?
On Elly8.net, yes: standard gratuity is part of every fixed price. When comparing other quotes, check whether gratuity is added at invoice, often as a percentage, because that can change the real price considerably.
Why are stretch limos not on the fixed price list?
Stretch limousines, stretch SUVs and party buses vary more by date and partner availability than sedans, SUVs and Sprinters. They are priced in the web booker for your exact route, date and hours, and the price shown there is fixed before you pay.
What extra charges can appear on a Boston booking?
Only tolls, parking and waiting beyond the included time, each billed at cost and shown separately. Boston airport and city routes often use tunnels with tolls. There is no fuel surcharge and no added gratuity percentage.
Is the evening package cheaper than booking by the hour?
It depends on the length of the night. In a Business SUV the evening package is US$625 against US$125 an hour, so for a night of five hours or more the package is the simpler, fixed choice. For a short dinner run, three hours at the hourly rate costs less.
How far ahead should we book a limo in Boston?
For weddings, proms and graduation weekends in May and June, book as soon as the date is set. For airport transfers, any time before the flight works when cars are available. Free cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup makes early booking low-risk.
